Episode description

DISH Network yesterday unveiled its long-awaited virtual-MSO service, which will be branded as Sling TV and priced at $20 per month with "no commitment, contract, credit check or hardware installation required." The OTT service is billed as offering live TV from ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, ABC Family and CNN; a range of VOD programming; and "unique" content from YouTube MCN, Maker Studios.

In this interview with [itvt] Editor-in-Chief, Tracy Swedlow (which was recorded a few weeks prior to yesterday's announcement), Sling TV CEO, Roger Lynch, and DISH Digital CMO, Glenn Eisen, discuss the strategic thinking behind the new service, including how it is designed to bring Millennials and other cord-cutters back to the pay-TV fold; their plans for marketing it; and much more.
