Confucius said “The superior man thinks of virtue； the small man thinks of comfort. The superior man thinks of the sanctions of law； the small man thinks of favors which he may receive.＂

孔子说：一位求职者的君子，他心中思念住在有仁德的处所。而小人所想的，却是处所的田地财产，有什么利益。而实际上，君子对于自己的行为，时常惦记着着如何实行，才能合乎乎圣贤的典型。而小人做事却只想到自己有没有受到恩惠，利益。

孔子說：一位求道的君子，他心中思念住在有仁德的處所。而小人所想的，卻是處所的田地財產，有什麼利益。另一方面來說，君子對於自己的行為，時常惦記著如何實行，才能合乎聖賢的典型。而小人做事卻只想到自己有沒有受到恩惠、利益。
