Jesús Gregorio Smith is an Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies and an Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) Andrew W. Mellon Fellow. He received his PhD in Sociology in 2017 from Texas A&M University where he studied the intersections of systemic racism, masculinity, and sexuality and how they influence mental and sexual health.
Tiago Machado Costa is a sociologist, queer researcher, and anti-racist scholar. They are currently a doctoral research at the University of Nottingham, where they are completing their thesis on racialized desires and sexual racism among gay men’s sexual spaces in the UK. Tiago’s research interests include the sexual geographies of cities, queer conviviality, sexual racism, and the social dynamics of eroticism.
C. Winter Han is a professor of sociology at Middlebury College. He is the author of Geisha of a Different Kind: Race and Sexuality in Gaysian America (New York University Press) and Racial Erotics: Gay Men of Color, Sexual Racism, and the Politics of Desire (University of Washington Press). Prior to becoming an academic, he was an award winning journalist and served for three years as the editor and chief of the International Examiner, the oldest continuously publishing pan-Asian Pacific American newspaper in the US.
