Thank you so much for tuning in and for considering Golden Surrogacy your trusted source for surrogacy information. Hello, everyone. On this Surrogacy Talk I'm answering very important question for all of our lovely ladies out there: why is Surrogate compensation so confusing? And let me just say this. It's marketing. A lot of my lovely colleagues out there, they always use the phrase allergy earn up to $80,000 or insert the amount that you might see.
Always be very wary and cautious of up to marketing. When you see an ad pop up on your social media feed for becoming a Surrogate today. And while becoming a Surrogate is something that you might not be doing for the financial motivation. Stop and think to yourself, would I do anything else in life without fully understanding what I'm signing up for? Becoming a Surrogate is very, very important.
If you see an advertisement placed on social media and that reminds you that it's something you always want to do and you see these numbers being advertised, don't just sign on the dotted line. Understand what that is. So I'm going to cover two very important topics for you, which will include some questions and some things to keep in mind when signing with an agency and understanding what that compensation package is.
Number one, do any of the incidentals, and I'll explain what that is in a second, do any of the incidentals come out of your compensation package? And an incidental would be something like lost wages, a monthly stipend, your embryo transfer fee, your start of medication fee. Perhaps there are other bonuses or items that the agency has structured. Sometimes incidentals do vary from agency to agency, and sometimes there are rare circumstances.
So really pay attention to your compensation package to see how those are broken up. If incidentals are coming out of your compensation, you may be signing up for something that's more like an all inclusive surrogacy compensation package, which means your actual take home amount could be significantly less than that up to amount that you saw advertised online. The second thing would be ask that question.
Ask your agency representative, what is my guaranteed take home compensation amount that I will be paid for completing one embryo transfer that is successful, that results in a live birth and a healthy baby. What is that amount? If it's anything less than that up to amount that was advertised, hold the phone, take a beat. and ask questions to understand why that number might be different than from what was advertised.
A really important thing to keep in mind lost wages, mileage, those are items that are just that reimbursements. Never consider those as part of your overall compensation package. That or not. So I'll close with this regardless of which agency you are signing up with, even if it's not Golden, reach out.
Our intake team here would love to speak with you and go through the compensation package and make sure that you understand what the numbers mean in that the amount that you might be thinking your in your head based on an advertisement is actually what you will be paid. And if not, we'll explain why.
Either way, we want you to embark upon your surrogacy journey without having to think of all the various financial components and ensuring that you understand what that means for you and your family.
