Episode description
In mindfulness meditation we take an attitude based in the seven pillars of mindfulness as introduced by Jon Kabat-Zinn, the creator of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). In doing so we also practise taking the same attitude towards the rest of our life.
Non-Judging: Mindfulness involves observing your thoughts and experiences without judgment. This pillar encourages you to become aware of your judgments and learn to let them go.
Patience: Patience is the ability to accept things as they are, without rushing or striving for quick results. Mindfulness encourages a patient and non-reactive approach to life's challenges.
Beginner's Mind: Approach each moment with a fresh and open mind, as if you were experiencing it for the first time. Avoid preconceptions and assumptions.
Trust: Trust in your own inner wisdom and the process of mindfulness. This involves having confidence in your ability to navigate life's challenges with mindfulness.
Non-Striving: Mindfulness isn't about achieving a particular goal or outcome. Instead, it's about being present and accepting things as they are in each moment, without trying to change them.
Acceptance: Embrace things as they are, even if they are difficult or uncomfortable. Acceptance is a key element of mindfulness, and it doesn't mean you have to like or condone what you're accepting.
Letting Go: Let go of attachments to specific outcomes and desires. Mindfulness encourages a sense of detachment and the ability to release what is beyond your control.
