Episode description

I want to do some follow up of the story I wrote about two weeks ago. Lately I’ve been invited by life to look at my Egotistical Shadow. In fear of not being good enough or being nobody, this part of me thinks and act with arrogance, egocentricity, inconsiderateness and entitlement. The story about my neighbours is a good mirror for me here. Remember? I got a complaint note about me being too loud with my singing. Well, it’s not like I didn’t know how loud I was and that it would disturb my neighbours, but I just choose to ignore it. I was acting quite a bit from the inconsiderateness of my shadow and I’m not so proud of that. How does this pattern play out in other parts of my life I ask myself? The answer is quite uncomfortable to face, and I will not go into detail here, but I remind myself to have self-compassion and meet myself with curiosity rather than judgement. We all have dark sides of ourselves that are hidden in our unconscious and bringing them into the light of our consciousness and integrating them in us is an important step in become a more whole being. This means accepting and taking ownership and responsibility for the parts of us that we would rather hide away and pretend they aren’t there. If you are interested in reading more about our shadow self and about shadow work, I found this article helpful https://lonerwolf.com/shadow-self/
