Episode description

"We Don’t See Things As They Are, We See Them As We Are" - Anonymous We see our reality through our preconceived ideas, assumptions and opinions. Between us and the world is a filter created from our past experience, our culture and expertise. It is said that in the mind of the expert there are few possibilities, in the mind of a beginner there are infinite. The expert limits herself by thinking that she knows, and we are all experts in our lives. We think we know what our partner thinks, or how our child will behave. We think we know how this meeting will go and how our day will be. We think we know what the food taste like and what the sunset look like. How the fresh air feels in our lungs, what it feels like to be us. We are missing out on life when we do this. Instead of experiencing reality in the moment, in all of its infinite richness, we see only the construct we have in our minds. Today we will explore the curiosity of the Beginner's Mind by looking at something as though it was the first time.
