Episode description

There is a classic story about how to catch a monkey that illustrates the art of letting go, or rather the suffering in holding on. Make a small hole in a coconut. Hide a banana in it and wire the coconut to a tree. The monkey will reach in and grab the banana but the hole is too small to get his hand with the banana out. Now he’s stuck because he refuses to let go of the banana in order to be free. We do the same thing, although not so often with bananas. Instead we hold on to believes, throughs and emotions and our attachment to things being a certain way keeps us from moving on to something better.
