Tell me do you live from Orelliot Avenue Studios of Sports Radio ninety three point three kJ RFM. This is Sounders Wiggly with your host Jackson Felts Beth Russneck. Which thing towards that far post? Jackson wagon goes up, knocks it down to yes, strikes it. What's a goal? That's what the sound is needed and it's rawads puffs out his chest, hands on his hips. Here comes Ralph steps up and in the button corner. He's scores to put

the Sounders two goals up there. Lerman Field August driving forward, slips towards the in line to Christian Roldon Rip's on the sax and a's Jordan Morris. It was an all flick behind and in the back of the Naty goes and that's exactly what Jordan Morris needed. Want two With Russneck left corner, the box goes in and there's the fourth goal for the Sounders. Easy as you like. For Alex rold As he rolls it into empty it well, goes into tennis. He gonna get chats. He is telan tennis, slides it

bested see wa into corner. It sound as five Montreal and nil. Good evening. Welcome into Sounders Weekly, Jackson Feltz here, that was fun to listen to. That was fun to watch there on Saturday night, five nothing for your Sounders. What a special evening at Lumenfield as your Sounders put up a five SOT more than any other team in Major League Soccer on this week, more than the Sounders had the entire season. They came into this game

with four goals and then they score five. Oh my goodness, that was the game we've all been waiting for. That was the offensive breakout that we've been wanting to see, to be seeing a Sounders team that could do with they just did. Gosh. That was wonderful and great to have the calls there from Danny Jackson to bring us in to tonight's episode of Sounders Weekly.

We welcome you all in, Jackson Feltzer Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM for the next hour celebrating that Sounders five nothing win over Montreal, and we will of course look ahead to the Sounders next match against FC Dallas coming up real quickly on that. We'll previe the match more with Ari Lillenwall later on

tonight in Around the League. But that match coming up this Saturday will be right here on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM, while a Providence Swedish prematch show of five o'clock kickoff at five thirty from Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. You know, also watch the match on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and listen in Spanish Lega which on l Ray thirteen sixty. But we will have the match right here for you five o'clock on Saturday.

Sounders Dallas. All right, let's get back to it and let's celebrate this Sounders five nothing win over Montreal. My goodness. You get two goals from Rol ried Diaz, who is awarded the Player of Match Day from Major League Soccer Best in the League, deserved for his incredible twentieth minute strike. He then scores a penalty shortly later. I would say on the penalty, by the way, funny and listen, I'm kind of glossing over his first goal,

so let's actually really quickly go back. His first goal was immaculate. You have a free kick from Russnak which goes all the way to the far post to Jackson Reagan and you're gonna hear from Albert Russknack coming up in sonders Wickly, you're actually gonna hear from all three big you know, goals scoring players. I mean, I should say Alex Chodan scored, Dylan Tevis scored,

but you're gonna hear tonight from Rolriediez. Through a translator should mention you're gonna hear tonight from Jordan Morris, and you're gonna hear tonight from Albert Russnak. And in talking to Albert Rusnak about the design of that play, which was a free kick to the far post that Jackson Reagan heads back to Raoul and it was just a random header from Jackson Reagan that was actually directionally placed.

Jackson Reagan knows what he's doing in that moment. He sends it back to Rollriy Diez, who just what a strike it was where he just hits it on that half volley into the far corner over the diving keeper. It was just a sensational strike, classic Rollery Diez. And then a penalty was also really well taken. I mean, Rollriy Diez has hit a couple penalties this year, both penankas, which is kind of the chip right down the middle made famous by of course, you know Panenka is the name of a

player who made that famous. But Rold the kind of the question was would he do it again? No, it's just a well taken bottom left corner of the net and Roll slides it past the keeper and that made it to nothing Sounders. A well earned penalty too, by the way, Albert Russnak, who's tripped up in the box and then got great take from Roll, Jordan Morris to get off the Schneid score his first goal of the year.

He'll talk about it here in a little bit in Sounders Weekly. That was just so wonderful to see because you know, Jordan's been working his butt off trying to get on and he's missed here and there by just a little bit that Galaxy game last week, the one nothing lost where he had a few chances, a major chance in the eighty sixth minute, didn't get that one, But then to get this one was huge for him and a really pretty

back heel. Jordan will talk about that later on. And then you got the fourth and fifth goals, and I think the thing that stood out to me was the fact that when the match was three to nothing. The Sounders didn't take their foot off the gas. They almost just pressed it down harder because Montreal gets a red card. They go down a man and already you know, all right, Seattle's got this game in the bag, the game

is over. But then they kept pressing, they kept pushing. They got that fourth goal on a tremendous give and go russknack with Christian Roldan slides it over to Alex Roldan for the easy his tap and he'll have in his life. That made it for nothing. I mean, that team goal was as good as the third goal, if not better, and really really well done.

Albert Russnak will talk about that specific goal, that given goal with Christian how they kind of talked leading into the week about being able to capitalize on how Montreal plays. I mean, Montreal had a compact five defensively, and

the big question was how is Seattle going to get through that. They talked about going over the top, and I thought going over the top meant kind of long balls, but going over the top literally in that moment when meant Albert Russnak chipping it too, Christian Roldan's head and then roll Don heading it over the Montreal defenders, back to a running Albert on the given go who slides it across the face of goal to Alex. I mean, one of

the most beautiful goals you'll see. And then the final fifth one, I mean, Dylan TeVeS, a kid who has been working hard to get playing time, working really hard to just try to see the field, gets his opportunity and makes the most of it. And it's also Danny Mazowski, another guy who's been working to try to see more of the field, and it's him getting the assist on that ball. Great for a young kid like Dylan Tevez to be able to, you know, show the younger players on the

bench, like a Paul Rothrock for example. Well there's a bunch of examples, but show those young kids on the bench. Hey, if you work hard, if you're great in practice, and that should be noted, Dylan Tevez has been great in practice this year. But show that if you do all the right things and you get rewarded with your playing time, you can make a big moment. And Dylan Tevas finds his big moment and scores to make it five to nothing, which was the last kick of the game,

a great moment for him. Go dogs by the way, and the Sounders walk away with a beautiful five nothing win. Again most goals in Major League Soccer. This week, they more than double their goal total from the season first win of the year. They're now one three and two with the five points on the season. Just everything that you want wanted to see from pretty much the entire team. I mean, Rari Diez I think is probably the number one highlight here, the fact that he gets two goals. It's his

fifteenth multi goal game and you player the match day. But I think more than anything, you're just seeing the consistency out of Raoul. First few games of the year, we're kind of like, all right, Raoul's playing really well. He's making the case to get more playing time, making a case to be the starter at forward, and injuries have necessitated him being the starter and Jordan Morris going to the left wing, which I think has served Jordan

well. He's found his run of form on the left wing. But now the question becomes as this team gets healthier and healthier, and on that note, very quickly knew who seems like he's fine, but then there now there's a question of should Cody Baker start? Because Cody Baker was outstanding? I thought, so, has Cody Baker earned himself a start coming up against Dallas this Saturday? That that's a very good question, you know, as knew who maybe works back from a slight knock. But either way, even if

new who is healthy? Do you start Cody Baker to reward him? But on the health note, now as you're getting healthier, Leo choose working back? Pedro de la Vega? What about a month away, maybe a little bit less. As these guys get healthy, what does Brian Schmitzer do. It's a very good question and one that I don't have the answers to. But maybe we talked to Ari lullionwell later on about what Brian Schmenzer does with

these different questions. Because there is gonna be a situation where if Rowld necessitates the start because of his play it forward, I don't think he's gonna bench Jordan Morris on the left wing. Well, then Pedro de la Vega he has to start. He's a highly priced young designated player. Do you slide Christian rold On back a line and knock Josh Atencio out of the starting lineup because now Joel Paulo is back, he's healthy. That was great to see.

You're gonna hear Jordan Morris talk about the new intron duction of Jul Paulo back into the starting lineup and back into the play at all because JP got was about fifteen minutes and that was great. He looked fine, So you'd think he's in line to get more minutes, maybe start against Dallas. We'll see. So I think in all of these senses, as this team gets healthier, somebody's gonna have to be the odd man out, and I don't know who that is right now. We'll talk to Ari Leon Wall later about

that. But overall, this game, it's everything that you wanted to see. By the way, Stephan Frye recording his first shutout of the season and his one hundred and sixth in his career in the MLS regular season, that is third in league history in Major League Soccer and just six shy of Kevin

Hartman for second. So seven shutouts for Stephan fry this season, seven more this season and fry will have the second most shutouts in MLS history, and that is just well deserved and awesome for Stephan Fry, but overall, what a game for the Sounders. You know, in the locker room after the game, you're gonna hear from Jordan Morrison, Albert Russnak the next segment. But we also got to talk to the man of the hour, and that is ral Ruy Diaz. Had a good back and forth with him with a

few other reporters. It started by him talking about this is all by the way through interpreter Augusto Valdez. Augusto is the interpreter for the Spanish speaking players on the team, and as Rold got together with all the media, this is simply the I've kind of spiced this together audio wise, editing it together ral Re Diaz's answers through Augusto Valdez and then our questions. So here was our get together with Raoul in the locker room talking about the five nothing win

and his two goals on Saturday. Super happy. I'm very proud. I worked really hard always I think the most important, one of the most important things that I trust in myself, probably like nobody else, and I'll keep working that way so I can continue to continue for the team. And I'm going to keep working even harder for that role. Congratulate two goals? How

badly did you want that third though? I was really hoping to get the third one, But the really more important thing was to actually get the win. So I'm very happy for that. Getting one goal, you know, it is great, but getting five because I feel like the dam has now fully burst offensively for the team as over a hole as all, we just needed to win. It was either one or five goals, and we needed

to win. But the scoring five really gives you that additional push and it's something that definitely helping to improving our confidence and it's something that we needed, and it also as a precedent so we can actually use that in the future. We're happy, but we are not done. I mean, this is just one win. We need to keep trying, We need to keep working

so this can become something that continues. Do you take us through the sequence on that first goal and what's kind of going through your head before you wind up a shot like that. To be honest, I only I only want to show it the goal. I always I'm thinking about shooting, shooting, shooting the goal. When I saw the opportunity, I try that I should do well. Really, if we don't try, then we're not gonna be creating chances as an opportunity. So I'm just gonna I'm gonna keep trying.

Usually a long shot can give you the opportunity to open up a goal or open up a gaming in general. So I'm gonna keep trying. I'm gonna keep trying to show them. That's Roll, Rediaz through interpreter Augusto Valdez and everything you expect to hear from Rall, a professional giving those answers, you know as somebody who is all about the team because he's all about team, team, team, and you feel that from Rall Reydiaz's answers, they're great

stuff. From Roll through Augusto. We'll take a break here in Sunders Weekly and we'll hear from a couple more players. We'll get Jordan Morris and Albert Russ Knacks takes on the five nothing win against Montreal. Jackson felt here a lot to get to here, and so weekly more next on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM. Now back to Sounders Weekly on your home for Sounders fc cel's Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM. Welcome back Sounders Weekly.

Good to have you with us here, Jackson Feltz talking all things Rave Green soccer and what a week it was for the Sounders. Good to hear from rawl Ruy Diaz, the player of match Day for Major League Soccer this last week with his two goals in the Sounders five to nothing win. Great to talk to Rowell there in the locker room and hear that the last segment there through translator Augusto Valvez. And now we continue our featuring players here on

Sounders Weekly. Another couple players I got to talk to in the locker room, first being Jordan Morris. Morris finally got off the schneid scored his first goal of the year, a wonderful back heel tapping. There was a fun debate going on in the press box. Myself, Russell Brown, Masita mat and Nico Moreno were all the four of us just laughing and enjoying the Sounders

route. It might have been three nothing or four nothing at the time, but we got on the subject of what was the better goal, Roll's first goal, the great one in the twentieth minute, or Jordan Morris's back heel. The three of us, Myself, Russell and Nico were all very clearly. It's Rolls. That's one of the goals of the year for the Sounders, is one of Rolls's greatest goals of all time. Mos Brug did bring up a good point and I will, you know, knock him a little

bit. It's not a better goal, but he did make the point of listen. It was a great back heel. It was a great team build that got to the Jordan Morris goal. I think it was a very very good goal, a great goal, but I don't think it's better than Rawls. That being said Jordan Morris, great for him. He was in good spirits in the locker and we got to talk to him. He started the

questioning and a couple other reporters jumped in here, including Nico. This first question he answered here was about Rol Rudy as the big two goal game and what it was like playing with roll there on Saturday in the five nothing win. Here was Jordan Morris played with Rable for a while now, and he's again he's just he has a nose for goal. He's so good in and around the box. And you see his goal, his first goal tonight.

Yes, some people are gonna call it whatever it deflected, but he just he creates those moments for himself where the ball pops out and I think a lot of people wouldn't think about shooting that. But he's such an incredible finisher. We see it every day in training and you obviously broke the record for most goals, so he's he's so incredible in front of goal, and so he just creates his own his own goals like that, and he's a He's a really special player in the box and in front of goal. So we're

we're fortunate to have him. He's had a great start to the year, so yeah, you know, hopefully we can all keep building on that. But when he's scoring goals, bringing everyone else into the game, defenders, you know, paying more attention to him, it opens up things for the rest of us as well. So he's been awesome. He's doing doing really, really well, and again, he's just such an incredible finisher. So yeah, we're fortunate to have a guy like Jordan. Imagine feeling pretty good

right now after a five nothing to win. Yeah, definitely that looked more like us, felt more like us frustrating starts of the season, but can we believe in our quality and we knew what we could bring and I'm glad we brought it today and that hopefully is the start of a of a big push too to keep climbing the table. So yeah, it's a great team performance for you personally, getting you know, and scoring the first year. What does that mean to you? Just to get the sniders? I feel

like kind of the monkeys off the back a little bit. Yeah, bit, I mean it's always good to get the first one. You build confidence and hope we can keep scoring some more. But again, I'm just happy with the with the result. Vibes are gonna be a lot better now. So we're we're we're looking forward to to the next game already, and I think the team's playing with confidence now and you see it. Even the last game, I thought we played really well and just didn't have the the finishing

touches and they all exploded today a little bit. But yeah, we can just keep building on that, and we were feeling more like ourselves, So we're playing with confidence. How do you feel like you're playing on the on the wing versus playing up front last year? What's the difference? Uh, you know, yeah, for sure, I mean I enjoyed playing on the

wing as well. I think, you know, the last couple of games, I felt I've been really good and I'm able to get on the ball a little bit more and and kind of do what I feel like I do best, which is, you know, take people on stretch teams getting behind. So I've been happy with the play out there and and again happy to play play wherever. But yeah, I've been feeling good out there, feeling confident, you know. Got to keep keep building on that, keep hopefully

having good performances and scoring goals. But yeah, I enjoyed playing out there. I played there a lot in my career obviously before last year that was my primary position. I feel very comfortable with there. So just got to keep keep building a lot of stuff to keep working on and just excited for for the next game. Already you talked to us about that little back kill you for the goal, and where does that rank in terms of some of the best goals you've scored. Yeah, but I'm sure it's up there,

you know it was. It's I think the build up play was so good too. You know a lot of I can't remember how many passes someone told me. But and then Obeed's ball through to Christian and Christian I know he really whips a really good ball in, so I just try to make run in their posts. And those things are a little bit just instinctual. They happen so quickly. So yeah, it was obviously it was exciting to see it go in. And we'll be fun, you know, check it back

on the replay. I'm sure it'll be fun to watch. But it's uh, yeah, it's definitely probably up there with one of my one of my better goals. So it's exciting really saw him for a little bit. But what does it mean to have Jaw Paula back out there? Man? I love JP. I I love getting asked about him because he's he's he's just the best. He's such a like I said with step two, is such

a good guy. And then he brings so much quality to to our group and and you know, I know he's been been frustrated struggles with this injury, but to have him back on the field, especially with us playing like this, to add a player of his quality back into the mix is just gonna be be be incredible. We love playing with him. I mean his ability to open up the game for us, you know, on Gotson's side of the ball, just his ability to find passes, find guys in between

the lines, find guys in behind. His quality, it's just incredible. And then on the defensive side he breaks things up and it's just a force. So we're lucky to have him. I'm super happy for him that he's back because he's been working really hard to get back and he's just such a good guy and an amazing player. So we're just we're pumped for him for

all. Got his second goal, it seemed like you had a hunger of fire to get that third, did you, guys kind of it all seek him out to try to make sure you try to get him that hat trick at all? No, I don't think so. I think everyone just plays their game. Obviously in the moment if it if it comes up, that would have been a great moment for him, of course, is to get a hat trick. And but I think you know, everyone wants to score

obviously, so it's uh, it's everyone was trying their best. And again in the moment, if something had popped up and he was open, of course we would give him the ball and hoped that he scored a hat trick. Because he deserves that. He's been working really hard and doing really well. But yeah, I think everyone's hungry to score goals. Everyone wants to be a part of that, especially in a game like today when the goals are are flowing a little bit so uh, but now he obviously two goals

in first half is great. It opened up the game for us and again it felt more like ourselves, So it's good. It's great stuff there from Jordan. Morris finished off that last question asking him if they were trying to get Raoul his third goal and get him that hat trick. I asked the same question to Albert Russknack and Albert Russnick and I had a nice one on one including a special appearance from Hobby or Ariaga that you'll hear coming up.

But I asked the same question to Albert Russnak and we kind of got a different answer. Let's get it in the interview here with Albert Russknack, the Sounders number ten and the Sounders number eleven on the field, number ten positionally, who had his first two assists of the season there in the Sounders five nothing win over Montreal. We started with Albert Russknack just talking about the vibe of him, the vibe of the team, the vibe in the locker room.

After winning five nothing, here's Albert Russknack. I feel like that's what we needed, you know, not just the win, but kind of win and score some goals and get more players in the score sheet and you know, kind of building this performance going forward from now. It did seem like even after you guys were up three to nothing and the triple change happens at seventy eight, it did feel like you guys were still pushing for goals four and five, Like, did you guys want to make a statement tonight?

I wouldn't call it a statement, but yeah, of course, you know, when the other team goes down, I feel like everybody wants to get on a score sheet. But we kind of managed the game in a smart way, even with going to man up, you know, I felt like we were doing the right thing. But we're keeping the ball, you know, and trying to make them run, and when they go a little bit tired, kind of we kind of try to try to attack and try to

go for that killer pass. Well, and that was seemingly was what we saw there for the fourth goal where the give and goal with Christian's head and then the slide over to Alex. I mean, and that play was it was as pretty as we saw all night. And that's a good example I would have think of exactly what you just said. Yeah, well that's something that we worked on. You know, them having a five defenders a simple

one two could be could be effective. You know. So I think we saw them multiple times today, although some of them didn't come off and you know, didn't end up with their goal, but I felt like, you know, they were they were working and it was you know, one of the ways we wanted to break it down, and it sort of did feel and I think you mentioned at the very very start there where you know you're waiting for this kind of performance, does it feel like the dam broke as

we owe Andy I fight from and he Rose's kid, does it feel like the damn broke? Yeah? Yeah, I mean, you know we were talking that, you know, we don't score enough goals, don't score enough chances. I mean, it's the one you know, it's a one game. So we don't want to get overconfident and overhyped and be like, you know, it's gonna be everything pretty from now one and every game we're gonna score five goals. But it was something that I feel like we needed as

a team. Yeah, and I imagine too. It's I mean, there's been obviously a lot of frustration for the first like five weeks. Right, if just feel like looking around here seeing all the smiles, it's much easier to play when you all have smiles in your face and you're having fun out of match. Yeah, I mean definitely. You know, the way the way you guys see it, this is the way we see it too, you know. And I feel like everybody's is gonna be more positive this week,

you know, leading up to Dallas. You know, great to see you know, guys coming back from injuries. You know, JP got some minutes today, look sharp, sharp as ever. So it's it's good, you know. I feel like it's still we'll take some time until we get everyone back and you know, we'll have a kind of a full full squad, but you know, I feel like we're making you know, today was a step in the right direction. All right, So what is having drop

all of back in the midfield? What does that do for you in your position? Yeah, I mean you know, not to take anything from the way ob It or Josh, but you know they were outstanding today. But even JP to be off for for some time and come in a game, you know, he looked like he never missed the beat, you know. So it's it's another option for us, and it gives us a different dimension. He's a different player than then the other sentiments we have, and you

know that's the beauty of it that we have. We have many quality players are Hereavier, What do you think of this guy? Albert rustna Is is the best play I seen all my life. So quality when he gets the balls killed him the game, not the temple the time. He's my favorite

player, you know, he's my favorite play. Wells looking for you here, Albert role he scores too early and I don't know if I've ever seen a player hungrier for a hat trick then, I mean, what was it seemed like he was kind of just possessed for a while, just like I have to score this third? What did you see out there? Yeah?

I mean, and you know he's a striker. He scored two goals early and then the other team gets a right card, you know, so he's gotta be thinking every striker would be thinking, you know, let me get the third, let me get a hatch again. Now, I was trying to find him first half also on one occasion, and I feel like, you know, we were trying to trying to find him. You know, you kind of wonder won that for your teammate, you know, to get

a hat trick. It didn't happen, but you know still, you know, huge two goals from him in in the first half to to help us secure the win. Well in now, Dallas, I mean, Dallas is the team, you know, they're really injured, just like you guys, bottom of the towards the bottom of the Western Conference. They're gonna be hungry for a win next week, playing at home too, just like you were today. Yeah, I mean there is no easy game, you know.

You look at the schedule throughout the whole year, there is no there's there's no more easy games in MLS, you know, and especially not on the road. Every game on the road is tough. And I feel like if we build on this performance and uh, you know, go there with confidence. Uh you know, it's a team that we played in the playoffs last year, you know, so I'm sure that want to avenge that as well.

But you know, we're confident in in ourselves. We know what we have to do to win and uh, you know, improve on this game and kind of take it to Dallas. Last thing, I like one more last thing. First goal for role. You have the free kick that goes to Jackson's head, he heads it back for a rolls goal. Tell me that was designed. I mean, we worked on set pieces. You know, we wanted to put a ball kind of in between that goalkeeper and that

defense. We knew, especially on corners that have a lot of numbers at the front post that had like six seven guys in a zone, which is a different defending than most of the teams will play against. You know. So I'm not saying it was exactly designed like that, but it's the you know, set pieces. We paid attention and we made it a big case because we gave up set pieces goals this year and it costs us points. So you know, set pieces are a huge part of the game and they

can win you and lose your games. And today they kind of you know, kicked off the five go victory. Great performers. Congratulations Albert. We'll go get a win in Dallas. Well do thank you. It's great stuff from Albert Russneck there and fun to have a hobby or Ariyaga jump in there in the middle. But great stuff out of the Sounders attacking midfielder there in the middle. Wonderful, wonderful game there in the five to zhering win against

Montreal Well. Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. We'll get a break here on Sounder's Weekly. We'll come back and we'll go around the league. We'll talk about some other MS stories going on, including of course what happens with FC Dallas, the Sounders next opponent, which will preview that, and of course we'll talk some Sounders with ari Ari Leanwell comes up next on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

Now back to Sounders Weekly on your home for Saunders FC, Seattle's Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM. Welcome back, Sounders Weekly. Good to have you with us. Good to hear from lots of Sounders players today. That previous segment there Jordan Morris, Albert Russnak. Great to talk to both of them, as Javier ari Jaga said, the greatest soccer player of all time in Albert Russnack and listen, is this Sounders attack the greatest attack

of all time? Joining us right now to answer that ten minute other important questions, it is our good friend from mlsccer dot com, host of the podcast Loving Scorchers, Our good friend Ari Lillian wall Ari. How you doing today, my friend? I'm good, Jackson? How are you doing? Good? Man? Good? Let's hit the most important question at the top. Is this Sounders attack five goals, most in the league this last week? Is it unequivocally the best attack in Major League Soccer? Yes? Or

no? I mean unequivocally yes, Jackson. I mean that was incredible. They looked like real Madrid out there. No, but I mean, in all seriousness, you know, I don't think you can declare them fully back yet. We're gonna have to see it over a larger sample size and they're gonna have to sustain it. But that was cathartic to watch, wasn't it.

It's been a while since we've seen them put together a performance like that, and we certainly hadn't seen one like that so far this season, So it was it was great to see them perform at what everyone kind of thought their ceiling would be going into this season. They finally looked like that team in this game. Yeah, they certainly did. And you know, MLS

announce the player of the match day was Roll Ruy Diaz. I mean, he looked like vintage Roll from the you know, twentieth minute goal that looked like, you know, kind of like a little bit sort of you know,

not the same place. But oh but I mean Martin's over the goalkeeper against San Jose many years ago, but you know, coming off of a header from Jackson Reagan on that free kick, just one of Roll's best goals we can remember in Rave Green. Yeah, and I think that's probably one of the most important takeaways from this game, is just how sharp he looked in this game getting the two goals, and really how he's had despite the team struggles, he's had a strong start to the year. I think he's

been playing really well. He's been getting a lot of it. He's been getting three out of his four goals are from the penalty spot. But I think if you watch him play, he looks healthy, he looks rejuvenated. He finally got rewarded with the galazo. In this game, he had to won off the post against aust so his luck turned around a little bit. And I really think that this team ceiling will be in large part dictated by how healthy he stays and how much production they can get out of him in

that number nine spot. So with that in mind, it's I think it's a very very positive sign to see him playing like he did in this game and really how he's looked to start the season here with four goals, you know, before we move on and have our sharp vision opponent Alec where we

talk about Dallas coming up this Saturday. You mentioned there how healthy Raul is, and let's just play a little thought game here while we have a moment and stay on the Sounders train before we move on and then go around the league. And that's what happens when everybody is healthy. If everybody does get healthy on the Sounders, and we know dalea Vega, you know probably what just under a month, you know, a couple of weeks for Leo Chew.

As these guys get healthy, and if this team stays healthy, then Brian Schmitzer is going to have some question more about what to do and I'm thinking with rold playing the way he's playing right now, he has to start at striker. You're not gonna bench Jordan Morris. I mean, whether whether he is deserved to be a consistent starter on the left wing he did get a goal or not. I think it's just locked in. Jordan is going to start there. Albert's got to start at the ten first two assists of

this season this last week. And then things become very interesting because when Pedro de la Vega is healthy, does he then slot and on the right with Christian holding, do you you know, bench somebody else if this team gets fully healthy, ari, who are the odd man out? I would think Leo Chu is naturally going to be one of the odd men out, But who else is an odd man out? Now? That roll, you know, necessitates starting. Yeah, I mean, these are really interesting questions that

Brian Schmetzer is gonna have to weigh. I'm glad I'm not the one who has to weigh those decisions, but that's what I would dub a good problem to have. You need death like that in MLS to be able to sustain the rigors and the grind of the season. So what exactly the first choice eleven is going to look like when everyone is healthy. I have no idea. I do know that these are kind of problems that we talk about,

but they tend to solve themselves. You're invariably going to have guys who miss time, whether it be to injury or national team call ups or yellow card suspensions and what have you. It's pretty rare that you have access to your fully first choice eleven in any given week. So I think in that way that that decision probably won't have to be made all that often. But I

mean it's a great question. I really there's a lot of good arguments for how you could line it up differently when you have all your tools at your disposal. And so assuming there is a reality at some point in the future where Brian Schmittzer does have to make that decision, I'm going to be really interested to see what he does, because I mean, you do have a guy like Pedro de la Vega who's going to be back soon, who you signed him as a young DP. He's going to have to start, So

who does that push out. It's going to be interesting to see. Yeah, it's a good question, I think right now, Leo Chew and probably Josh Atenci or the odd man out as Christian would have to slide back line because you can't take Christian out of the starting lineup. He's going to be in there, and I don't see Brian Schenzer removing Jordan. So that's just what it's going to have to be, because I think you're right, you

have to start Pedro de la Vega. He's a young DP. But that's a question that we'll address later on if this team does stay healthy and knock on wood that they do. All right, let's talk about FC Dallas, a Dallas team that has started the season very badly, one win, one draw and a big old four losses. But one of their results, the draw, did come this last weekend there in Saint Louis, so maybe they got a little bit of confidence out of Glenn on the road and getting a

point. They're hosting Seattle this Saturday, five o'clock Providence. We just pre match show right here Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM kickoff five thirty. You know, so watch the match. MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and listen in Spanish language on l Ray thirteen sixty Ari what do you make of this Dallas team that is certainly off to a rough start to twenty twenty four. Yeah, they are off to a rough start, and

it's pretty surprising. I mean, FC Dallas in the last few years, they haven't really been considered among the elite teams in MLS, but they're typically up above the playoff line, and they have some really talented players. They've had a few injuries so far this season, but I think this game presents a big opportunity for Seattle. You're coming off your first win of the season.

It was a great performance, you scored five goals, it looked like kind of a breakout game, and you're playing an opponent that they've looked like one of the worst teams in the league to start the season. Here Dallas is a very tough away trip traditionally, not just for Seattle. It's a hard place to play in general, but mostly in the summer months when that Texas heat becomes super oppressive, which at this time of the year they might

not have to deal with that as much. So I think it's really a golden chance against the weekend opponent for Seattle to continue this momentum and get their first road win of the year. Ordinarily, I would say a road matchup at FC Dallas is you try and just take a smash and grab point and

get out of there. But I think in this situation, with them in the bad form that they're in right now, and at a time of the year where you're not going to have to deal with the heat as much, I think this is an opportunity to try and keep the train rolling and get a win on the road here. Yeah, I think it's a great point about the timing of this. It's not like a summer or even late summer game like the Sounders played in Dallas last year. They get to play them

here in early April at a very very good time. I think it's a great point. Also the fact that Dallas is so major injured. I mean, they came to Seattle last year and in the first round of the playoffs there and Alan Velasko he's still out from a major injury. They got some other injuries as well. Dallas is hurting right now. But we'll see if

they got the confidence from the draw in Saint Louis. Sounders, though they're playing probably as confident as anybody in the league right now for all the reasons we talked about earlier. But that's our opponent out presented by Sharp Vision, Modern Lasik and Lenz, the official Lasik partner of Seattle Sounders fc ARI. Let's stay in the Western Conference and talk about the team that I think we might have mentioned them here in the first month of the season or so,

but it was very briefly. They're currently sitting at the top of the Western Conference and it's not who anybody's expecting. It's the Vancouver white Caps. You and I spent some time out at Lumenfield on Saturday talking about these white Caps that got a huge win on Saturday elevated him to the top of the West

table. They are looking dominant right now, are they not? They are, And yeah, it's not necessarily the team that many people would have expected to be in first place in the West at this point in the season. Where at match day nine now and you got Vancouver up there in first place. But it seems like they're things are really coming together for them this year.

I really think that with Ryan Gold, Scottish Messi and Brian White, that's that I've certainly been one of the most statistically productive one two punches in the league dating back to last year. So this is a team that looks really good on offense, and they seem to have put it together defensively this year too. But if you just look at their roster, it's pretty sack. Now. They've done a good job building that thing up, building it

around Ryan Gold and it's paying dividends. And Vanny Startini, he's kind of asserting himself as an upper tier coach in this league. He's kind of a fun character. If you ever listen to his press conferences, he always has some colorful quotes. He had more after their game against Toronto this last week. But you know, we'll see if the white Caps can sustain it. But to my eye right now, it looks like they actually might be a bit of a force to be reckoned with in the West. Wow. I

mean, I did not expect that coming. But you know what a signing for Demir Krylock, the veteran that's given them in a really nice kind of whether it's a super sub or when he starts, he's playing really well for nothing. Win over Toronto. Very impressed of what's going on in Seattle, sees them and in a short few weeks. All right, let's talk about the Colorado Rapids, who right now are holding the ninth spot in the Western

Conference. But they made headlines because they went to Inner Miami, which had everybody, you know, Inner Miami's normal stars. Leono Messi scored, but Colorado was able to fight out a two to two result on the road. Does this say more about Miami or does it say more about Colorado being a decent team in the West this year? Yeah, I mean, I think you could look at it both ways. I think Inner Miami is definitely in

a little bit of a downturn right now. Like you said, they had Bessie in this game and he scored a goal and they still weren't able to beat Colorado at home. I just think, you know, there are questions defensively about that team. They can score with anybody when they have all their Barcelona boys and everyone's healthy, and they're going to be able to win a lot of games by scoring three, four or five goals in the game.

But when it comes down to it, you know, they can they stop people to the degree that they'll need to achieve what people think their ceiling is. And I think that's an open question. With them right now, and this game kind of just reinforced those questions. I mean, as for Colorado, I definitely think there's a reason to believe that they're improving under Chris Armos.

They started the season kind of rough, but they've been pulling some good results lately, and I mean they just they got a huge goal in this game from Cole Bassett. It was two to one in the eighty eighth minute and Inter Miami was about to win that game and then Colorado gets that late equalizer. So they showed some nice moxie there. And I think when you when you combine the roster movement that they made this offseason with kind of a

new vibe and a new culture under Chris Armos. For you know, for all the criticism that that higher took, it seems like he legitimately got them playing better ball right now. All right, there's a lot of different games.

We can end this one, and once again, Ari Lillion was our guest Mlsoccer Dot Com writer editor, also host of the podcast Lobbing Scorches, which I'm excited to listen to on my drive home tonight, and I'll already put out a new episode and that looks ahead to Dallas and reacts to the Sounders five nothing win over Montreal. Check out Lobbing Scorches wherever you get your

podcasts. A lot of different games we could end the show with and the interview with tonight, from Minnesota Salt Lake's results to the three to three between Sporting k C and Portland, to the game between Philadelphia and Nashville. The two to one win on the road for Philadelphia. I know one of your winners the podcast, which I'm going to listen to is New York Red Bulls

going to Cincinnati and getting a two to one win. But we'll end tonight really quickly with l Traffic Cooe just because everybody it was probably aware that La Galaxy LAFC happened two to one. That was the score at halftime. That was the final score as LAFC beats the Galaxy. You know, did you have any take aways from a game that sees you know, two teams that in Galaxy near the top of the Western Conference, LAFC making a comeback here

over the last few games. What were your takeaways from El Chaffaco. Yeah, I thought this was a missed opportunity for the Galaxy. I thought the game was pretty evenly matched itself, and the penalty kick that LAFC got awarded in this game was a soft penalty and I think they got gifted that one. But really, the Galaxy have been kind of the toast of the league to start the season. They have the most electric attack in MLS besides maybe

Inter Miami when they're performing at their peak levels. But they had a chance to kind of make good on the positive early press that they've been getting. They could have really solidified themselves with a win over l AFC here in l a SC's building, in a huge rivalry match like that, and they weren't able to perform at the level that they've been performing at early in the season

here. So I'm still pretty high on the Galaxy. I just think that offense, that stunt four with Jobolic and the two new DP wingers and Ricky Ricky Pouch, that's gonna be a really electric offense all season. But I do feel like they missed a chance to really solidify themselves early in the season here with this game, and now they're going to be there's still gonna be questions as to whether they're truly back or not. Yeah, big time,

and there we already saw questions. I mean the fact that they you know, did barely beat Seattle and the Sounders looked very good in that game. And then it kind of was sort of we saw the cracks of the Sounders damn bursting there against the Galaxy, and now we saw the damn completely blow against Montreal. And then for the Galaxy, I think we started to see some some cracks in their foundation against the Sounders and that fell in the lost

LAFC. Well, Ari, that's all the time we have four man great stuff is always a little I could have asked you about three more questions. It was a big weekend an MLS this week, including the freaking you know, Sporting Kansas City blowing a three nothing lead against the Timbers. I'm still angry about that, but Ari, we will talk about all the games ahead and hopefully another Sounders win next week. So talk to you next week. Have a good next few days, Buddy, sounds good. Thanks Jackson.
