Welcome to the Sounders FC pre match show presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. Jackson fell us here alongside the legend and goal Marcus Hennman. Marcus, it's great to have you in the booth to night. Yeah, thanks for having me for my first game of the year. It's good to be having you here. And it's feeling like December. You're in a short sleeve T shirt right now. I think I have three coats

on right now. It is a night that does not feel like it's mid and early April. No, but I have been living in the mountains and my goalies are warming up right now, so I'm staying loose. I'm ready. You just show me a picture of you in the snow. Yeah, it's you used to be a little bit colder than this, so that makes sense. But we are here counting you down to kigoff for the next half

hour before Sounders Montreal here at Loomin Field. A lot to get to here from the lineup, the injury reports, We'll go through the thoughts about what Brian Spencer's putting out today. We'll talk a little bit about Montreal it's interesting about how Montreal plays and how they may play today on the road after flying

three thousand miles to get here. We'll take into that. We'll have our players to watch well, of course, have our keys to the match, the history with Montreal all before Danny Jackson and Steve Zachowani take the air and we'll have the call for sounders and Montreal Marcus. Let's start what we usually do, which is taking a look back the game against the La Galaxy last

week, the second consecutive loss on the road. As I mentioned, you know, I think the one nothing loss was frustrating, you know, still not being able to get a win. But as we keep hearing as the players said, as the coaches said, as we said on the postgame show, overall, just the look of the team looked better, even if it

was not a result. Yeah, and we're you know, I just did a podcast with Steve Zachawani and for once we finally agree on something, and we were talking about how the team they've got, especially when things aren't going you're well or your way, you have to have that first five minute mentality right and come out put the other team under pressure, right, and you cannot let them score in the first five minutes, right, And you think

Montreal was gonna come here and just let us, They're gonna let us do whatever they're gonna defend. They're gonna pack it in right and make it difficult for us. So the longer we go without scoring, the more nervous we're gonna get. We have not scored many goals this year, we haven't had a win. So the Sounders starting quickly and bright is the first thing they got to do, and then everything else, everything else will take care of

itself. It's exactly right, because the thing about the Galaxy game was if we played better in that first five minutes. I mean I know that that they have a shot off the post in the second minute, and then the goal goes in by Gabrielle Peck in the fourth minutes. And if we had started better, that game very easily could have been zero zero, or even the Sounders could have come with Jordan Morris had a great chance late in that game. And he's one of the players for the Sounders. I mean,

this is obvious, folks. He's starting again tonight. He's one of the players offensively that need to get going. Marcus. Yeah, one percent. And you can't count on all the young kids to carry the team. You have to be difficult to beat away from home. And that's got to start with that being saw it in that first five minutes of the game, last five minutes and the half, nothing changes, right, that's just basic soccer, right. And now our veteran players are the ones who's got to step

up. And we need our young players to be able to fill a role, right, and they have to step up. Right. Ruy Diaz is our leading goal scorer right now, when he's missed a couple of games, right, I don't know, I can't remember exactly what the stats are, but you know, and he is our best striker. But the guy's got to step up. The absolutely do. Yeah, And that's the thing.

The veteran leaders, you know, I said it on a post game show a couple of weeks ago, that they're the ones you need to step up in the locker room, be the vocal ones to say this is not acceptable, this is not al Sounders play soccer. We need to turn these things around, and you know, do things like scoring goals and making big plays and coming up with game changing passes. You got to look to your veterans

here tonight, especially in this one, but especially at home too. You come to this place one, so now we have an obligation to our fans to make it right. So now you have to play with energy, and you know, away from home, you could play a little pack, you could play a little bit more tactics. But at home, man, we gotta be to the wall. Yeah, exactly, and we may see Montreal do exactly that. They may play back and we'll see how they do it

with their five defenders at the back. So we'll talk more about Montreal later on. Sounders are still dealing with injuries. You know, all this is frustrating, All of this is tough, but they are still a little bit hurt. Let's get into today's team health report, presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. All right, so players out include Redbaker Whiting with the hamstring, Brodilo Rodrigez with the hamstring. Peter de la Vega's

still out for the hamstring. Still looking like another month or so there based on the six to eight week timeline. We got a little bit ago. And then also Leo Chu had that tear in his knee. He's still out about two to four weeks, so Chew has more time as well. Brian Schmitzer's press conference last week, it sounds like Leo Cheu is fi to you know, get back in training next week and if he can make that progress, it'd be great to see Leo Chew inch back and be an option at

least off the bench, if not in the starting lineup. Also from last week, Oh, Bet Vargas was in concussion protocol. He's out of that. We'll get to the starting lineup in a moment, but he's back from that. And then Marcus the great news here. Joel Paulo off the injury report or so he is questionable on the injury report, but he is on

the lineup. He is on the bench for your Sounders today. And whether Jue Paulo can give you ten minutes, thirty minutes, however long JP can give you, Marcus, just having that dude out there, we talk about

veteran leaders, just having him out there is huge for this team. Yeah, I mean having him on the bench even right, you know, in the game, right, He's got that experience and he'll be able to you know, because The thing you don't get when you're not on the bench is is you can't go into the locker room and give some of your experience, some advice to the younger guys, right, because you're up in the stands, But when you're at least on the bench, right, and he's got

a wealth of experience, and you know he's obviously missed right from his his set piece pieces are second to none, and you know that's a major thing we're missing, I think. And and then just that leadership on the field. And if he can give you a little bit from the sidelines right and in the locker room, we'll take it. The set pieces in the crossing, I know we talk a lot, you know on the broadcast last year it was crossing, crossing, gross and get the balls into the box.

And he's just another option who can serve up a great ball, whether it's from a set piece or when he drifts out and can put a ball in JP. It's great to see. We'll see how he contributes, contributes to the match in some way. But let's get to the delta. Starting eleven for the Seattle Sounders today, for Brian Schmitzer, he is in his listed four to two three one. We know that will shift and go as the

game goes on. But we have Stephen Fryan gol you back for as usual, knew who on the left, Alex Roldon on the right, Jackson Reagan, Jamar Gomez Andrade in the middle. At center backs. You're holding midfielders today are gonna be Josh Atensio and Obed Vargas. On the left wing. You have Jordan Morris, you know Hill, he'll get up the field. You have Albert Rusnak in the middle, Christian roll Don on the right, and Marcus you talked about him, roll Roud he has up there at the

styker position. He has all of his goals, leading the team through penalty kicks this year. But really, this is the best starting lineup Brian Schmitzer can throw out with the health situation that he has right now. Well, yeah, and that's always the case, right You're never never going to be one hundred percent. Not everyone's going to be fit. And you know, last year we started really well, right and then we picked up some injuries. This year we're picking them up in the preseason, and you know,

it's been kind of a difficult, difficult start this season. To say the least, but also for the coaching staff to pick a lineup. And you know, and you know when I was always playing, you know, he wanted to back four, never to change right. And you know, and then the more consistency you can have around you, the more comfortable I felt right to go out and get a result. And you know, we haven't been able to put the same lineup on the field, so it makes it

hard. Yeah, I mean, last week, get Cody Baker right back. Now you're able to get Alec Chrol Don back every right back that has to bring some comfortability to Stephen Fry and also has to bring some covert comfortability

to Alec Josh Atensio who I mean in that holding the field. Sure he plays alongside Christian and plays around Christian rold On, but playing next to at Vargas is a guy he's played with for years now, going all the way back, Toto Coman defiance stays and and that's just gonna bring comfortability in the entire back six plus Fry. Yeah, and now we have our best, you know, our best starting back five, including the goalkeeper. Right this

is our our go to like what you would call our best lineup. And you know, I've never been a fan of changing two positions to change one, right, I don't like that, and you know, and Schwetz has to make some difficult decisions. But now we can get back to at least our our back four. And you know, the way the Jamar and Reagan have been playing all last year and this year, you know, I'm excited for today. I'm excited to get back in this back four. And you

know we've had We've had a whole bunch of changes this year. Stephan Prize missed some games. Andrew came in and did great. Looked like a really good goalkeeper, which is exciting, you know, because I can tell you you can't play forever, even as a goalie, and so it's good. You know, we've got some good competition back there. So it's it's great to see. Yeah, Andrew Thomas, you know, came in and and Andrew Thomas. I'm trying to look up the left, see how old he

is. He's only twenty five years old out of Stanford, right, He you know, played his career at Stanford and the Sounders were able to bring him in and and he's you know, one of those guys that we saw in the first couple of games of the season. It's very clear he has a very bright future. Stephan Fry obviously contract extension, he's here for a couple more years, but their day will come where Stephen Fry has to hang him up and we have I think a very good guy and Andrew Thomas here.

I mean just picking your brain as a goalkeeper of what you saw from Andrew Thomas there early on and in the confidence that we clearly saw him play with. Yeah, it's great, and I you know, I've watched him in training, I've talked to him a lot, and you know, he's got such a great attitude, a great personality. The only thing that he's missing he still has a full head of hair. So to be a great Sounders goalkeeper, you gotta be a little bit a little bit on the hair

challenge side. So I'm not sure, you know, all joking aside, right, He's a really good goalkeeper and I really like him. Yeah, No, Andrew Thomas bright future indeed, But for tonight Stephen Fry isn't goal He has his normal back four there with Alex Knew who Yamar Jackson should be a I would expect a solid, defunct performance tonight. The only question is can the Sounders score and can they score against a Montreal defense that is a

little bit unique in what they do. We'll talk about that's coming up in the Providence. We just pre match show. We are just about twenty eight minutes from kick here at Emerald Queen Casino pitch at Bloomingfield. Tonight's canaut A kickoff is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment capital of the Northwest. We'll get a break. We'll talk about how the Sounders can score against this Montreal team and what the CF Montreal brings it. I was about to call

him the Impact. They're no longer the Impact and now CF Montreal, what they bring to town on their roster. That's next year on the PREMI show. I don't like them, I still like it. It's quite a history with the Sounders. It goes way back. More Next on Sports Radio nine point fifty KJR. Thanks for calling Discover. This is Gabby. Hey, Gabby, it's Jennifer Coolidge him. Sounders CF Montreal Tonight. If you were joking the break about the long history the Sounders have with Montreal as tolln you Marcus that you know. I watched some highlight reels some of the club put out. Some of that was just kind of scouring YouTube in the Internet, watching old things. There seemed to be a lot of bad blood between Montreal and Seattle going through the years.

Yeah, there was a lot always going on, and you know, as one of those teams that we always hated, right, we hated you know, all the Canadians, right, that's the first thing. But Vancouver was more of a friendly rivalry. In Montreal, it was always pretty nasty, even after the games and the tunnels and all sorts of stuff. Well, it doesn't seem there's too much nastiness at this moment, but we'll see what

happens when there's actual kickoff that happens. Let's get into our sharp vision opponent Alec today and talk about Montreal at two two and one starts twenty twenty four. They start as strong with wins over Dallas, who's near the bottom of the Western Conference, and Miami, who's near the top of the Eastern Conference. But now they, just like Seattle, are coming off back to back losses to Chicago and then DC United last week. Each of their first six

games of the season have been on the road, including tonight. It actually finishes tonight here in Seattle. Then they finally get to go home to Montreal, where they get to face Cincinnati of ball teams, you know, shield winners of last year. In their first match at home. They have a

new head coach, forty five year old Frenchman Laurent Courtois. He runs a similar defense first system as former head coach Wilfrid Nancy, who left Montreal a couple of years ago and then immediately won an MLS Cup with Columbus last year. So we will see what this Montreal team looks like. But we know, Marcus that where this system for Courtois looks like is a back five that is very compact, It's very dense. It's going to be pretty much the

idea. Especially if they sit back today of light sounders, you're gonna have to break us down good luck. Yeah, makes it difficult when they throw five at the back, and you know what's what it's gonna take. What happens when teams back it in is you got to get crosses in right and or start shooting from distance. And that's the only thing that starts drawing the

defense out because they'll get tighter out wide. It'll draw the defense out and we got to get in behind, and getting in behind early is gonna be the answer. So we're gonna see Jordan and uh and and rolled in hopefully getting in behind him. Yeah, and i'd all just like to see you mentioned the distance there roll if you if you have a you know, a moment to see an edge of a goal, just go for it because it

may be one of the few chances he gets this entire day. Yeah, and you know, I mean his his finishing is his second to none, so him in front of the goal. So I mean, if he's anywhere near looking like he's gonna make a run in, we gotta whip the ball in and put Montreal under some pressure. Yeah, got to take any chance

you can get. We know the Sounders have talked a lot about going over the top, and this is if this is a defense that's going to and Brian Spencer thinks that they may sit in a load to mid block, and if they sit in that mid block, going over the top to Jordan Morris, going over the top to Christian Roldan. I know that Raul doesn't have the speed he did five years ago, but going over the top, that

can be a route. But going over the top, Marcus, I would think necessitates Montreal playing in not just the low block but in a mid block and if they're just sitting back, going over the top is gonna be a struggle today. Yeah. And so if you know, if teams sit back so that you've got to get in behind him early, and when they do, then they'll drop back, and then it gives the space more space for the midfield to play, and then you're gonna end up being having more possession

of the ball in their final third. Yeah. Well, hopefully Sounders can find that goal. Only one goal this season from the run of play that cross from Cody Baker to Danny Mazowski. Hopefully we can get more than that one here today. I will also mention you on the attacking side from Montreal, they brought in some new talent to build around MLS MVP Joseph Martinez is going to be starting for Montreal today. He is someone to watch. Also

Mattias cocarl He is their new number nine from Uruguay as well. He has three goals and assists through five matches. So those two on the attacking end are to watch as well. But again the Sounders, they have their best defense back and available together today. To al paul Is on the bench, I would think a very good performance here to come for the Sounders at lumin Field. Let's switch gears back to the Sounders. Ohe. By the way,

all attention. Today's opponent Ali presented by Sharp Vision Modern les Can Lens, the official Lasik provider of Sounders FC. But Marcus, let's jump over to our players to watch, back to Seattle today. Who if Brian Schpenzer's lineup are you looking for today? Well, I mean we kind of have to go Ruy Diaz, right, I mean, he is our going to be our leading goal scorer at the end of the year if we have any

chance of making it a good run on this this cup. So Ruy Diez, he's back up top, playing the starting lineup, So it's definitely him. And can he get the service? And you know he's gonna score. You know, I'm predicting very optimistic today, but he's gonna need some service and I think he's gonna score two goals on one touches today. I love that, Oh, I love that. I mean he's going to need to

get the service. And that's why my player to watch is Albert Russnick, which is finding those slots, finding the passing lanes, finding the ability to get to roll where he sees is gonna have an angle here and if you, if you, if has a small angle, I need to get him that small chance. So it is it's kind of that combination today from Russnack to Ruydiez and from everybody to Ruydiez to find that chance in the box. If Montredale is gonna play that Campact five and then again, like Marcus said,

crossing balls. You know Albert's gonna be on set pieces. Get good crosses in, send good corners in. Give your big guys a chance to get in the back of the net today to give the Sounders a goal and to hopefully give them a win. Well, we are just about eighteen minutes away from kick here at Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumenfield. Today's countdown to kickoff is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment capital of the Northwest.

We'll get a break, we'll come back, we'll talk about the history with Montreal a little bit more in terms of numbers, and we'll get some keys to this match. More coming up on the pre match show Sports Radio at

This is not one of those times we are looking ahead. It's a Sounders Montreal. Let's get

back on track. Let's stay focused, people, because this is a big match for the Sounders tonight. It's an important one because this is a team right now in Seattle still hunting for their first win of the year. Here it will need to come at a chili. Looks like there's a little bit of drizzle coming down at Lumen Field. This does not feel like April. It feels like a night in November, December, or February. It's a chilly night here in Seattle. But hopefully the Sounders can use these elements,

as Brian Schmetzer calls it, the Seattle Sunshine to their advantage. Well, Sounder fans down with the McDonald's app today and when the Sounders win, and they will win, you'll want to be ready for it and you'll win a free kick chicken the following day with a minimum two dollars purchase exclusively in the app. Well, let's take a look here very quickly. It's some scores

around MLS before we continue here and focus on Sounders Montreal. Some interesting scores to go over, LAFC and l traffic COO beating the LA Galaxy two to one. Vancouver white Caps. We talked about how we don't like the Canadians as markets said, well, Vancouver getting a big four to nothing win over Toronto in all Canada MLS matchup there Vancouver right now top of Western Conference. Hell will start to the season for Vancouver. New York Red Bulls with an

upset over Cincinnati. They went to the last year's Shield winners and pick up the two to one win. A one to one draw between Columbus Crew and DC United an impressive result for the Colorado Rapids. They went to Miami and despite a goal from Leonel Messi, Colorado comes back and gets the two to two draw. New York City in Atlanta put a one to one draw. Also matches going on right now three to three between Austin and San Jose,

Chicago leading Houston two to one. We also lake up on Minnesota won nothing. That match is almost over. Philadelphia and Nashville tied at one. That match is almost over, and Saint Louis and FC Dallas tied at zero. That match also almost over. This year between Seattle and Montreal is the last game of the night that it should be mentioned New England Revolution got a one to nothing win today over Charlotte and Marcus. With that win, Seattle remains

the only team in MLS without a win. Pressure is on tonight. I mean, you gotta be as these players. They gotta be feeling the pressure right as the bottom of the Western Conference is the only without a win. They gotta be feeling that pressure. And how do you transform that pressure into good play and a result? Well, I mean that's what Schmeetz has been thinking about all week, right, how do we get this team to perform?

And you know what the lineup we've got with the with the players we can put out there, and you know, I think tonight, you know, obviously starting the first five minutes is so key. And you know, you could look back at the LA game, letting a goal in the first four minutes and then away from home chasing it, you know, not being able to come up on the score sheet. It makes it really difficult.

So all of a sudden, you now coming home, you've got to entertain and you've got to put crosses in and but more importantly, we got to start with that first five minutes. Yeah, absolutely so, because we saw the first five minutes against the Galaxy last week. That cannot happen again for the Sounders here today at Uomenfield against Montreal. All time, Seattle is two six and one against Montreal. That includes a one to three and oh mark

here at Lumenfield. The last played on June twenty ninth, twenty twenty two, which a two to one loss. Jordan Morris. We talked about the first five minutes. Jordan Morris scored in the third minute of that match in twenty twenty two. But Mason Toy, who's on the bench from Montreal today got embrace, scored twice and Montreal beats Seattle two to one. That's how that does not repeat itself. Today, we'll take a break, we'll give you the starting lineup one more time, and we'll get you some keys to

the match. More coming up and we'll close out the Providence Wes pre match Joe kickoff just about twelve minutes away here between Seattle and Montreal on Sports Radio nine fifty KJR AM. Sounders legend of the day waven the born in seventy four flag alongside his daughter. It looks like as the Sounders right now, of course, celebrating fifty years and this year we're hoping they turn around from the first five games and

get the first win today once again. Your Sounders starting line up the Delta starting eleven for Seattle and include Stephen Fryan goal back to the usual back four of knew Who on the left, Alex Chuldon on the right, Jackson Reagan, Yamargomez Androtty in the middle. At center back, Josh Tenzio Obed Vargas. Are you're holding midfielders, you're attacking midfielders on the right, Christian rolled On on the left, Jordan Morris in the middle, Albert Russneck and rold

Ruy Diez at ford Marcus, let's close out the prematch so strong. Let's ta get us some keys of the match. What do we need to have happen tonight for a win? Well, I mean we got to start off right right. We gotta start. We gotta turn Montreal. The first five minutes are so critical to this game. You know you mentioned the injuries we have, but tonight we've got our best back five we can have right are arguably are starting back four and the goalkeeper. So defensively we should be nice

solid, no changes there. But we need crosses, right because we know Montreal is probably like what we talked about, they're gonna be packing it in. We need to get crosses. If we can't get him behind, we got to put them out from higher angles, right, and we got to have Rui Diez flying into the box and he will score today. So it's just a matter of time. And if the Sounders can start right, that's that's the main thing you gotta do. It's that first five minutes that's absolutely

right. And on the offensive end, it's great. Dual Paulo is on the bench, so it's great to have him. We'll see him eventually. But they have the ability to have a Russ snack and they have Jordan on the left and they have Christian all right, there's so many players who can swing crosses and who can get foward on this team. If Montreal wants to play compact, if they want to play in that dense back five, then

it is about just putting as many opportunities in the box as possible. Yeah, and with Jordan on the left right, he naturally wants to come inside a little bit. That's gonna give some space for new Who. How can that interchange? How can that affect the play? Can it is new whos gonna be the one to affect this game with this cross? Right? And that's what it's about. Can't you take care of your one on one opportunities and create those to two v one opportunities? I love I laughed when you

said Knew Who crossing? But the reality is is that over the course of his time in Seattle, he's gotten a little bit better, a little bit better, a little bit better. And if he can get up the field, because we know he loves to get up the field, and Montreal they're gonna play deep and just let the Sounders come at him, that means new

Who's gonna get up. That means he's gonna have an opportunity cross And listen, once every some odd games, Knew Who puts in a pretty darn could cross if he's the one to do it today, and he's the one to allow the Sanders to getta go from the run of play, and we come out of here with a one nothing win. Sign me up for that right now. Hopefully it is a win. Hopefully it's a good first forty five minutes. We'll hand things off to Danny Jackson and Steve Zachwani. We'll be

back for the halftime show. But the game Sounders Montreal, it starts next on sports radio at nine fifty KJR AM. You've been listening to the Providence Swedish premat show Sounders FC. Sounders FC Sucker. Good evening, everyone and Welcome to EQUC Pitch at Luminfield for this East versus West matchup between your Sounders and CF Montreal go to make season so far in the new head coach Lauren Courtois and playing their last of six straight away games to start their season, Montreal are ready to play at

home. The sheen of a win against the mercurial talents of Miami was dulled by the incredible Kelen Acosta goal which was assisted by a sixty mile an hour gustav win in their last minute lost to Chicago, but with a record of six wins and only two losses versus the Sounders in MLS, they are ready to silence the lumin faith. For the Sounders, they are off to their worst start to a campaign since twenty thirteen, but it was at this point

in that season when things turned around. The team went four to zero to one in their next five games, and with the return of key players to the team in the coming weeks, optimism is in the air. Practice was bright and lively this week and it all comes down to one thing. Results. It doesn't matter how you do it. A win is very much needed in the faciit Northwest. My name is Danny Jackson alongside former Sounders winger Steve zac Quani for the court tonight. So before we get to see for his

initial thoughts, let's get you the delta. Starting eleven for your Sounders. Stefan Fryan gol A, back four of Alex Roldan, Yamar Reagan and Nuho Obed Vargas and Josha Tencio start in the middle of the park. Christian roll Down in the right, Albert Ruznak in the ten, Jordan Morris on the left, and raw ruy Diez as the number nine. For Montreal, Saran gol A back three of Campbell, Waterman and Sosa on the right run area, Lassida on the left hand side, Saliba and Piet in the middle.

Schwanier is the number ten, and then Martinez and the new signing Cokero up front. So, Steve, we've talked about this before. Feels like same thing, same place. But for the Sounders tonight, what do they have to do? It's about results? How did they at that win? You know, I think it's a cliche thing to say in this spot, but it has to be a fast start. You're at home. It's that you've got kind of got that typical Seattle weather the evening here, and you've got

to give the fan some with the shout about. So the first five, ten, fifteen minutes, can you really get after it? Can you put Montreal on the back foot if you let teams come in here, get comfortable, ease into it the longest nil nil, anything can happen. Sof of the Sounders get off to a fast start, play on the front foot, use your player shred. Jordan Morris is on the left, can you get him in behind? Can you get a board into Raoul? Can you get

Albert on the board. So those sorts of things, I'm sure is what Brian Schmetz and you start for preaching. But a fast start is key today. While Brian Schemetz will be happy to see some of these players back in the lineup and fit and of course on the bench today, as Jackson Feltz had mentioned, Jao Paolo back on the bench for the Sounders, and that is a bright spot in what has been a couple of weeks of real gloomy feeling around the club. But as we mentioned right, practice was bright and

sharpers that game in blue. Montreal get the game going, Sounders in their anniversary kit, shooting to the goal to our left, green shirts with blue pinstripes, those light blue shorts and white socks. Montreal attacking the south end the goal to our right and dark blue shirts, black shorts and blue socks.

So the ball goes back to Stefan frying the gold. He of course spoke about that goal against La Galaxy that balls slipped past him in the fourth minute from Gabrielle Peck and he'd look like that one Beck, as he'd mentioned in his interviews this week. But as we know, stepher and Fry has made many a big save for this team in green. So here come Montreal left hand side, Ariel Lassida, left hand side, one on one versus Ashwaldan shifts it to his left foot, drives it towards the front post,

cleared well by Yama. He's gonna pi b Piet in the middle of the park. Picks it up. Stout strong figure in the middle of the park. Most minutes played for Montreal and MLS most games played, most games started, so we'll anchor in them of the field. Ball goes in new steps in well this near side the left drives forward as some time and space as he pushes towards the box top corner, so was it square top of the

box? Alex Roldan can't quite there. Montreal come away with it, but Steve, you feel the crowd just looking for that little bit of spark of magic to get this game going, and the players on the field certainly have that. Yeah, absolutely, And you know sometimes you come here to Dumanfield and the crowd lifts the players. I think the way the season's gone, it's one of those nats where the players really have to lift the crowd, give them some of the chair about. And that was a good start so

far. Run across the box clared up by Yemar Lottle, cushion headed to Alex Roldan, flows down quickly by Cooke Ow. It's being a real bright spot. Scored two goals against Chicago in that four to three loss, which we as we mentioned was the crazy goal by killing Acosta in the ninety ninth minute when he hit it from all all of sixty yards away and it took or looked like a right angle to the left and went over the goalkeeper and

won the game for Chicago. So Montreal lucky to get back home. There's been months of refurbishment at the Olympic Stadium where they typically start their season. Had six games on the road to start this campaign. Fargas back in the lineup on the ball right now. We've been coming back from a concussion protocol missed last week. Back of the lineup alongside Josh Attensil, which has been

the tandem in the middle of the park to start the season. As he flicks the ball down the far side, the right goes out of play for a Montreal throw and Steve will see they're playing a back three. The Sounders typically seen this type of setup, but new coach new tactics. It comes from Columbus crew under Wilford Nancy. Of course that had great success in Montreal

and obviously winning MLS Cup last year with Columbus. But you wouldn't be surprised if they played deep play, locked in and try and absorb some of this early pressure. Yeah. And I was having that conversation with Brian schmssa before the game. I said, look, but you think it's gonna be a three or five? He goes, Look, we're prepared for both. And if it looks at the five, the key player for us today is Jordan

Morris, because we're gonna have to get from him. I don't want to know who to be our primary left wing attacking Fred must be Jordan Morris. So Jordan obviously that's playing central, that's going inside. But if it does look like come back five, then he has to play very white today to stretch that defensive group. I if it's a back free, I think it sounds have a lot of space in the middle, and maybe it comes more of a game about Albert Russnak trying to unlock the up the Montreal back line

and there's that man, Albert Rosa. The s wriggles free. If Campbell gets dragged to the ground, free kick for the Sounders inside their half of the field. As it get going quickly, Alex trol darn high and right flecks the ball drives forward towards that corner flag, challenged by two Montreal players, goes out. Ossa steps into the lineup Tonight Kronk side waterman who last week got a red card and then var actually took a look rescind it that

call put it to a yellow. So he anchors the middle of that three in the back and Elcholdan plays it towards the end line to his brother Christian, back to Alex they put some quality delivery, comes back onto his left foot and goes all the way back to Jackson or Reagan. Eleven men deep

behind the ball for Montreal. As New shifts it from this near sight to the far side the right picked up my Christian Roldar skips inside on his left foot into Yemar, who's slowly and steadily building himself into fitness as he comes back into the lineup. But as we saw Nathan, we've seen Ariaga play

alongside Jackson Reagan to start this season. But the trusted tandem of Reagan and Yemar because they showed so well last year with thirty two goals against god Anchor that back four Martinez another off season signing for Montreal's they rebuild that swad signed in from Miami and Ganuary to Pierre to Schwanier. The academy products played every single level of national team play. Use the national team play for Canada. All goes in to flutch around the corner by that man Schwanier and to lasted

a little clip around the corner, no foil given. Schwanier hits the deck Sounders built out of pressure with Vargas into the feet of pushing bold On. He drops off to his brother Alex high press in the right areas for Montreal early on cause us some challenges for the Sounders the build out. Steve Yeah, and I'm actually a little surprised Montreal. It's very clear early on here

in possession, it's very expensive. It is a back three and the outside backs are getting very high into the attack, and so it's one of those things where you've got to take your chances of fere. The sounder is Jordan Morris has to help out knwho a little bit, but you also can catch Montreal when the loose possession in transition can you get out quickly? But credit

to Montreal, we probably gonna come here and just sit back. They've started very early in possession, getting into the tag and paying a very expensive game shot speculative shot from Martinez or all of thirty yards out at the angle goes wide of seven fries goal. It's going to be a goalkick for the Sounders well. Sound As FC SOKA is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FCS. Getting here in the seventh minute QC pitch lumen Field nine

to fifty km. Wherever you're listening to us at home, synced up with Apple, we appreciate you joining us Sounders looking for that elusive first win of the season. It's been a struggle these early weeks. Sounders. Coming into the season there were ranked number one in the Western Conference, expected to do extremely well out of the gates, but of course injuries have hampered that progress.

But as Brian Schwetze earned a number of the players mentioned this week during the press conversations, they felt good about the performance against the La Galaxy. Just that final execution and the final third was eluding the Jordan Morris, speaking yesterday, just said, hey, listen, we just need to keep going seeing good things. Green shoots. Now, that's the factory of getting the

ball on the back and neck, getting this season going. As the ball goes down the line to that man Morris, a little bit of time and space cuts it towards the top of the box, cleaned up by piet To. Saliba's knew who's on the deck holding his squad, played the ball down the line. Referee's gonna pull on the medical staff. It's not what you want to see. Stees that one. No, it's not. And as soon as he played that pass, he gingerly began to follow up Jordan Russ's

attack and you can see right away there's some real concern there. But going to that attack, that was good to see Jordan Morris out wide against the touchline making runs in behind. You want see the Montreal back line facing their own bowl as much as possible. It was a good pass, but I knew who, but it may have come out of price now if he's down there and some real concern three or four of the Sounders guys around him.

Head trainer Chris Qunch on the it's good to see new who walking off of his own power, but anything to do with a muscle, poor muscle tare at times could be very hard to shake off. But fingers crossed that knew who will be okay here well. As Steve mentioned, he's gingerly walking off the field, just shaking his head. Medical staff continue to look at him as we look down on this near side, both Jonathan Bell and Cody Baker warming up, Cody Baker having played last week. It's the galaxy in that

right back spot. It was Alex rolled On who split up a line. Certainly he did well defensively, gets a high five, starts to pull off his shirt. So see, it looks like it's gonna be an early change for the sound As. Unfortunately for knew Who that it does give young Cody Baker another chance, most likely in the left hand side. Yeah, and Marian Schmids and he's coach your staff. Listen, you never want to lose a playoff new Who's caliber. You never want to lose any player, especially

in an opening ten minutes. You've game planned, you've got your line up. You don't want to dig into your bench too early. But there is utmost confidence in Baker here and for the same and he's he's wanting to push new Who and he gets now another opportunity to come in and play the next eighty minutes here for the Sounders. But you know he's trying to get that rhythm coming out the gates and then injury like this just stagnate SI slows things

down. Now the Sounders are gonna have to and it's just been that kind of season, you know, and that kind of see that if it's not one player, the other player and the sounds just haven't been able to really get the projected best eleven down. Branchmans would have wanted again closer today with John Parlot on the bench, But now knew who looks like he's gonna have to call it an early night. And yes, Baker will be coming off

of him getting his final instructions from Andy Rose on the sidelines. Knew who trying to get going, trying to do a couple of jumps, a couple of sprints, and then suddenly shook his finger to Brian Schwetz on his staff as he took off the tape. So we'll walk towards the bench as Cody Bacon gets set. But here come Montreal with Pierre Knocks bawled down the line the system referee like it's a couple of yards off side, it's gonna trickle

out for a sounder throw the fast side the right steve. We've seen Brian Schwetz make some twists and turns of the lineup. We've seen Alex Roldn play on the left. But you'd expect this to be a light for light switch, like for nex switch. Yeah, don't complicate it too much because the only person who has to really adjust right now is Baker and his job will be defend first. If Montreal is gonna play kind of aggressive sending up the

wing backs, really happened to attack them. Baker's job is to defend first and then fi Jordan Morris, which in the same role that knew who had. But we've had many times that the club is very high on Baker. Obviously knew who's the number one in that role. But there's no hesitation whatsoever

to turn to Cody Baker. And here he gets another opportunity. There's Cody Baker first touch, nice positive touch forward as he plays the ball to Morris, finds the foot of Rosnat that's near side the left will flick around Saliba stepping into the central midfield spot alongside piet Today Cody Baker getting his first point and first assists for the Sounders against San Jose. For that head of from

Masoskis, the ball goes down the line fast side the left. Kop who's gonna pick it up for Montreal, challenged by Yama, comes back to Lasston. This last foot becaus of just Soso as Sounders just hold their line just top of the box. Coco and Martinez too true out and out striker Steve playing up front, and we've seen teams come in here and bunker in this As you mentioned that there was some firepower playing three at the back, we thought it might be a five. As run knocks it down the line to

Martinez hooks the ball over the top goalkick. Sounders remains still on nails see zac Unic and you're absolutely right, Danie. We fought Montreal's on a come in here and maybe bunker in, and especially early on and see what the Sounders have got. It's been a very even start and maybe Montreal even the

happy of the two teams. So far, the sound has not yet able to string together our three, four or five passes sequences here and it's Montreal and the attack and down his right hand side very very aggressive with the outside bats are setting forward and Joyce Martinez there for a play off. His quality and the goals is called an MLS that's more than half a chance. Well

during his time Atlanta and of course moved on to Miami. One hundred goals in its first one hundred and twenty five appearances in MLS, numerous personal awards, All Star MVP MLS, Champ it's his opportunity in Montreal, just a clean slate playing alongside Cocrow, a good start for those short front Martinez one goal to assists on his start and then Cocro three goals, one assists and his first campaign in MLS Montreal. Having this near side the right, it's

right in front of Brian schmetz Is. He continues to take a seat alongside his coaching staff, hoping for a little inspiration from his players tonight. And see we mentioned it's as good of a lineup as you We've been waiting for this. Yes, H'aopallo would be the added piece here, and of course Pedro de la Vega once he comes back. But in terms of the quality and attacking four is not much better in MLS No. And it's the reason why the sound is as you mentioned, what attracted to be so high up

in the West. It hasn't quite happened, hasn't quite worked out that way. But that's exactly why this sound is wor to bet you to be so high because it is a very talented group on paper and he's got to show up on a pige and I think today again branch Ben's line is opening No. Thirteen fourteen minutes. He's gonn want a little bit more from a scene who have already seen Albert Russknik, Christian Rod, Dan Jordan, Morris Roun

as involved as he may want. Montreal a little bit too comfortable so far, but it is early days and now you know they won't just be sitting back, So maybe the sound is it is a bit more of a transition

game and not dictating the game with five hundred passes. Bor goes back to Soro and the Montreal goal as he whips it out to the far side of the left to Sosa Schwanyer, just nice and patient for Montreal to sound to step up their lines with a little bit higher pressed with Christian Roll, Dan Boror goes back to the goalkeeper, litle pressed by Rudy as it almost gets there, knocked down the line challenged by Yama, easy win by Yemer goes

out with fast sign for a Montreal well. Let's Copyrighted audio casts of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. It's not just MLS where Montreal and Sounders have had multiple matchups. But of course all the way back to those USL days, when those mid two thousands, the years that I played in Brian Schmetze had a number of battles with Montreal, losing two nil in two thousand and

four USL Championship in front of a capacity crowd in Montreal. The highest attendance ever for a professional soccer game in quebec I was in two thousand and four. They came out Victoria's two nil, and then we played them in the semifinals, beat them on peks and then we won that year in two thousand and five, and then my last year, Steve, we played Montreal in the semifinals. We won two to one. In Seattle, they beat us three to one. Lo and behold my last play for the Sounders as a

Red Cup again it's Montreal. Well, it's brilliant. I remember there was a guy called Adam braz who was a typical just bruiser. I'm going to try to strangle him in the in the in the tunnel at halftime. It was just one of those matchups. He was always always feisty. It's gonna be a free kick from Montreal in the side the Sounder is half the field and I think Montreal will be very very happy, Lauren coach, what I mean, they've come out here to see that. Oh so far, they

really are dictating to play for the most part. They they're playing more of their game than the Sounders are playing their game. And it's not that Montreal completely dominant here, but they haven't been under the crush. Goky Passan had to make a bunch of saves. We haven't had the crowd off their feet yet for the Sounders, and so just can't be careful if you have a Sounder, say, because Montreal as a team gets more comfortable, more confident,

take the crowd out of the game. It can become a very very long night as opposed to one where the Sounds on the front foot really pushing an envelope and putting Montreal on the pressure. We have yet to see that so far. Well for the Sounders. Zero shots on goal, only forty three percent possession. All right, now, as you mentioned, the sixth away game straight for Montreal before they go home for their next two games next week eat Cincinnati, they have a free kick. Sound is holding the line

top of the box. Twenty e puts his arms up, whips it in towards that far post a foul on Yema top of the box, free kick given by the referees. We get here in the seventeenth minute Sounders nil, Montreal nil and Steve. That's gonna be the concern for Brian and staff and even his players there is that Montreal come out silence. This crowd. Sounds really need to step up a gear, have to and its moments like this. Who joining Morris on the ball in the white area. He has to

have a boy in the fullback as much as possible. Today is Coddy Baker eighteen yards or so from the night. He's gonna push forward past run as he cuts it, corner kicks the sounds good positive work. So I'm Cody Baker as a referee just changes his mind. He'd literally given a corner kick, makes the change. He hear the booze ringing around Lumen Field. It's gonna be a goal kick for Montreal as they starting to build out the back

inside the eighteen Sounds have a chance to push high, push strong. What goes to the left hand side associate, He's gonna not clip the ball down the line over the top to Martinez cushions it down to Cocoa. Foul by Yama free kick halfway line. Referee's gonna pull Gamar towards him like you're just as leg that's just kind of stretched out Cocoa on the end call. It's

gonna be a free kick, nothing more. Of course, the referees, having solved all their issues and challenges with the league, back at it now. Sure get us going, sounders, you're gonna pick up the pace. You can see the higher press right now just urging their team. Ford is Brian Schmetzer full house again tonight. Even it's dreary weather conditions, fans continue to come out in their droves just trying to push this team on. As we always talk about. You can just feel what the fans need. They

need a goal, they need some inspiration. Certainly seeing the likes of Rosnak in that number ten back and watch what the sound is a built over the course of preseason, and the sounder is fine something to get these fans going as they have a free kick now right channel thirty yards or so from the

end line. When you're playing a team that plays deep as Montreal typically do, set pieces Steve zac Corney are one of those things that it's about quality and Brian Schmetzer talks about quality with the ball to get it in good areas, hack it, yeah, especially when it's not happening in the run of play. Then moments like this set pieces where you can actually set plays up and know Andy Rose works a lot on these, You've got to take advance

of these moments. Here's Roy snack Whipson towards that far post. Jack's Raken goes up knocks it down to who yes, strike saying what's a girl? That's what the sound is needed? And it's round is who gets the sounders on the board. It sounders one Montreal nil and listen to that crowd. It's exactly what this game needed from the sounders and who else but row Rudias.

It's a decent freaking for album Rusnak Jason Reagan does really well. But make no mistake, that is an absolutely incredible finish from round week A foot heed it around the corner of the eighteen and a goalkeeper has no chance on that one there from Roward, you can't hit the board any better than that. The loop is excellent, the contact an excellent, and it's that man

again the all time leader in balls for the Sounders. Guess on the Spoilshy Yeager where we talked about it. Ruy Diaz is one of those players. He'll take those shots from distance, He'll take a popper goal and this time it took the slightest of deflections of over the goalkeeper and the Sounders on the board. Is that gonna get them going right now? They've absorbed a little bit of early pressure from Montreal. Now it's about taking advantage. Front foot

ball gets clipped in by Jordan Morris, Christian headed to Ruy Diaz. Montreal ask him for an offside nothing given. Ball miss this side the left with Cody Baker to Rudyaz looking to line it up. Strikes it the flex off boartsman clips up in the air. It's gonna be Cody Baker who's challenging Ruan who knocks the ball out of bound. It's gonna be a Sounders throwing yards from the corner flag this near side the left browse third goal of the campaign.

As preseason went on, we would sure what his role would be, but his attitude in practice, his consistent play, his leadership on the fields warranted him getting that start, and he's repaying that coaching staff with three goals in the last four games. The ball clipped up to this near sight the left run. It's gonna collect to Cody Baker, good pressure, tries to put it through the legs of the Sounders left back. It's going to roll

out for a Montreal throw. This near side of the left, just a couple of yards from the corner flag allows the Sounders to put some high press keep the ball in tight, and that's what the Sounders do. They get it top of the box, trying to clip it between the legs of piet They come Montreal in transition halfway line. There's Martinez, pocket pick by Alex rolled on, ball gets rolled back to Stephan. I think you made a point there, Daniel Rowl. You know, you gotta give the guy a

lot of credit. You know, he's been such a big player for this club and sort came into the season. We've never had that many question marks around Raul and for a lot of the time he played on what you considered the second team with the young players. Try list at times and to really swallow your pride and still do what you have to do and be ready when your numbers called. And I've got to be said this season ROWL coming into it, we maybe didn't know what we're gonna get from Rowld, and he's

been very good, very very good. He's been one of the brats. But what's sort of sounds good attitude, bringing a lot of energy, and yes he's got a couple of penalties, but that goal there, that's what he can do and no one else canna do. Half chances moments out of nothing. And the team, you know, Sounders were playing okay, and now you can feel the energy. It's completely transformed. And how many times have he done that in the years? Has been here? All picked off

by Tensio. Lockdown the line towards Christian roll down top corner of the box, the farst side the right outside. The foot shifts the ball this near side of the left as Cody Baker steps in, starting to see his ability to push a little further forward than knew who added dementia on that left hand side. Of course we saw we'd Baker white and get joy on that left

towards the back end of last year. He of course, coming back from a injury picked up in those final games, slowly coming back into practice, mentioned Sho Paolo on the bench for the sounders. We'll see if he gets minutes in the second half. As for a lot clixting towards this near sight up in the air, bouncer to where's that good not touch and it goes on. Referee gives nothing. There was a trailing leg by Montreal defender and

where's that went down? We'll see if he will take a look. But oh, Steve, you look from here, look like there was a trailing leg. Rosneck went down wheres that continues to argue his case of the referee. We'll see if something is said in the referees earpiece. And as of now, the game keeps going on. You'll have it with Waterman in the back and it is anything's gonna be checked yet, Yeah, it's gonna be

checking. Albert rus that. You can tell my player's reaction. He was absolutely convinced there was contact and yeah yeah, and the chair you hear by the crowd, the balls in play had not gone out of play and the referees putting out his signal for a r check as he jogged down towards this north end of the field, that's where the screen is we're all gonna look

at it. There's that trailing leg. Albert Rossa takes a nice touch Passimer's Waterman looks like he connected yet with that knee, Rosnek went down and Steve. If the balls in play, the referee stops to play, you have to think this is gonna fix and there's contact there. The one thing to remember with VR is it's not to say is it a foual or not? Is it was a clear and obvious error and that's what would you How high is that bar? Do's have to referee this qussion here? Is yeah?

Is there contact? Absolutely? Does the referee feel he made a clear and obvious error? And that's what we're weighing on here. The question for the referee is what's the touch? Too far away? Did he go down too easily? And I think we can see was some contact he went down and there's the penalty car for the referee. We'll see if there's a card given,

a yellow card comes out and that's game. Is gonna be an SGB yellow card for Waterman When a fowler's called SGB trial loyals are here to help visit SGB dash law dot com and who else Ruy Diaz puts the ball on the spot. Go Korro is just standing by the side. Needs to remember it's turf. He can't kick up the grass to mess up the spot as you sometimes see his last two penalties. Role has had your audacity to gonna goalkeeper. There's no way you got three in a row round but would not

put a post him. So what does the goalkeeper do here? Does he hold his position? Well, this is a mental game. If nothing else right, he can just slide this in the corner, takes one, two, three, four steps back, puffs out his chest, hands on his hips. Here comes Ral steps up and in the bottom corner he scares to put the Sounders two goals, a pair of lumen field and what a start to this game for the men in green. Brilliant from round brilliant. It's

a really really good penalty because the goalkeeper goes the right way. But when you hit that well and that much in the corner, it's gonna be very tough on goalkeeper to get down and save it. And Rau Rudiaz, he has got this stadium rocking. It's two goals now for Ridiaz, the Sounders two no up and it's Raul Ruthiaz with a really really good pedal. He's on the season. We've seen the pencause. Different approach today, but just

as effective. Two nail Sounders. Just to start the Sounders one here in the twenty eighth minute. Now their tails are up. Now they can push forward and Montreal start to feel the wait of those five away games to start the season. They came in bright, they started well. Now the Sounders are starting to take control, as you'd expect from the home team, certainly playing free. Now the bull gets launched long by Yemar, flicked up by

Ruy Diaz, poured down initially by rolled On. Isn't able to control the bulgets play to this near sight a Ruan to Campbell finds the ball into Schwanier, who picks it up and the Sounders half of the field rolls it to the far side the left and Lasseter ball comes in towards that front post, played by Jackson Reagan. Was a great clearance, but it found the foot of oh Man Vargaser gets bundled over by Pierre. It's gonna be a free

kick for the sound That's just an opportunity to take a breath. Yeah, yeah, it's these next five to ten minutes now for the Sounds because listen, two nails a really good lead. But Montreal won't have to change too much just yet, because you get one goal back, suddenly you're back in the games. If you're the Sounders, you want to manage the emotion and the energy for the next few minutes here. And Bran Schmetzo always says gold

change games, and that's been extremely true tonight. We've seen it. The entire Confessionist game has changed that first Gold, but especially the second one with Albert Rusnat going down getting a penalty called after var check and Rudy has emphatically putting it where you're tuning up for the Sounders here. You do not want to give Montreal a way back into this game. You don't have to get any more goals. If you'll see our sounders too now is good, but

it's how you manage these next five ten minutes. Can you really take the belief and confidence away from this Montreal team? Twenty eight has it left corner of the box, goals towards Lassiter ten yards from the endline, comes back to his right foot, flicks up towards Cocoa cleared by Yemar as Martinez went download to try and head the ball, snapshot by Saliba easily collected by Frey. The fans applaud the Sounders effort. Ryan Schwetz has never questioned the effort

from his team. The sixteen shots against Elle Galaxy last week only two on target, and tonight that ratio is much better. Three shots on goal, two of those on target and two goals up are the Sounders. As Montreal pick it up, Saliba rolls it towards his near sight to Ruan, tries to knock it around. Cody Baker, well played by the young left back, flicks it to Albert Rosenaw with the outside of his foot. What was that? Just wriggles free of Ruin No real pressure is the Sounders build again?

Vargas middle of the park just twists out of pressure. But Steve Montreal not much to lose now, to nail up to the Sounders. And as we know, it's the most dangerous leading soccer. But you'd much prefer to be up to by down to oh absolutely fifth Montreal, they don't change too much. They came out here with a really positive mindset, positive attitude. They've been punching them mouth twice now, but they'll be saying, can we

get one before halftime to make this interesting? And that's what the sound has got a guard against. You have to make sure that you go into halftime at least two nil. If you can get a third break, you take it, but you go in at least two nail. Then this looks like a very long about from Montreal. Then that long road street they've had begins

to seem even longer. So use the crowd, use the energy, use the momentum to get it for the sounders, to make sure you get into halftime at least in this position, and then from there you make your adjustments, maybe get Jo Parlow out there. And all of a sudden, the whole complexion of the season begins to look and feel a little bit different. Ballers and the side the right with Campbell Boiler's foot comes back to wardsman High

oppressed by the Sounders, now led by Ruy Diaz. As we look out in what is a very seattle evening light drizzle making the surface slick, Sounders up to nil. This is more like it as Montreal have it with Sosa. Sound is just absorbing some of this pressure to get here. In the thirty second minute, lumin Field always a great backdrop as we look downtown towards our left as the night lights glisten in the distance, big boards showing those

two goals from the Sounders, two goals from rail ruy Diez. So he adds to his tally for the season. There's certainly the young players will be happy. They've seen so much leadership steve from Raoul. He's put his arm around players, He's been the captain and the young players team in Little five e five. Just loves that youthful energy and he's been real source of inspiration

both on and off the field in this last couple of weeks. Yeah, I've been very impressed by Raoul and he's gotta be said, you know, because yes, he's always been the guy at the end of the moves, the goalscorer when things are wearing his way. You can tell a lot about a player when things aren't going your way. We saw Nico Adero. They're part of the club. In the off season, they will question us about is Raoul's times over rolled up his sleeve came in in preseason and listen,

he understood that Hey they're giving the number nine position to Jordan Morris. I've got fight from my role here. I'ma have to play a bit more off the bench than I'm used to. There were games last year, massive games, playoff games where Raulry Diaz was on the bench and that can take a lot to the ego of a big time goalscorer. He's responded in outstanding fashion,

Raoul, and he's getting his rewards now well. Dice in the back by Montreal's the goalkeepers at a position, ball comes top of the box, they'll layoffs next to say, by the goalkeeper goes wide, it's gonna be a corner kick for the Sounders. Has rorried he as looks very first half hat trick and the crowder on their feet and this is more like Sounders soccer Steve zac Quanni. Oh and that's a great save. It's a fantastic I

turned by Rowl. You can see what he's trying to do, caress that barn into the corner like you did on a penalty, but on this occasion a very strong hand to it. But the Sounders trying to put this game to bed in this opening first half, and so do you get a Furner. You've got to think it'll be along with back from Montreal. But it's Rudy as he's at a center of absolutely everything right now for the Sounders. Well, Steve zac Corney mentioned on that first goal it was Andy Rose who

puts these set pieces together. See he has got something else up his sleeve. That seems like a ball to the back post that was headed down by Jackson Reagan to the foot of Raoul. The time is going to be a corner in swinger by Rudias top quarter to six ball comes into gamr just lets it go. But here come Montreal in transition it's gonna be a professional found

nothing done by the Sounders. Does Montreal have it farst side the left as the Sounders get back in their numbers, defend well to your slow the ball down, but spend like it matters by supporting bipok and diverse zone businesses all year long. Visit intentionalist dot com to find a business near you. All goes down the left hand side to last a little step over and there's Raoul back to do his defensive duties and that one will please the fans as much

someone as a goal. But stick could have seen you number nine coming back so deep to do his defensive duties. And that was always a feature of Raoul's game. I remember when he first arrived at the club, who was so impressed by how he would lead from the front and press and really let the Sounders charge defensively at time. So not a player he's afraid to roll his sleeves up and make runs. And of course when you've got a couple

of goals, you're feeling good. You have a little bit of extra energy, a little bit extra wind in your lungs and read the esterday in his first half has really led by example and he's got to sound his import position to pick up the first win of the season. Good step by Jackson Reagan, all won by the Sound as his middle of the park lot cut with his left foot, playootball square to ruy Diez back to Alex Roldan. Still

good high press by Montreal as they trying to make that back forth. The Sounders feel uncomfortable as Stephen Fry builds it out left corner of the boxes, Jackson O Reagan strikes forward ball at his feet to Cody Baker. Of course, ruy ds brooke the goal, scoring record of Freddy Montero when they were on the road, comes back to celebrate that with two goals tonight, four goals on the season, eight to two goals on his Sounders career all time.

Continues to now build that gap between here and Montero. Of course, it's not just the regular season goals. It's of course goals CCL Championships, US Open Cubs. He's been a really good addition, of course to this squad over the years. We've been blessed by great number nine. Do you think pretty Lumber of course wasn't necessarily number nine, but an attacking player. And then you've got Anny Johnson, You've got Ober, you've got Clint Well.

Certainly in that same conversation, absolutely, and he has every right to feel he blocks down on top of that list, and the numbers would suggest that. But as you mentioned, he's definitely a great company. But Rolls still active and still has the chance to continue to push his legacy forward. From the Sounds here at thirty seventh minute, sounded up two goalsonil here at lumin Fields. The ball goes down the far side the left, inside the

boxes. Schwany An cross comes Vargas takes a touchdout of bounds. It goes over the end line. It's gonna be a corner kick for Montreal. Something the sound is are gonna have to defend. Don't give away anything cheap. It's gould to be a corner gick on the Montreal left hand side of the field, southeast Cornerwier puts his arm up the air. It's gonna take a couple of steps back. Referee again just making sure organizes the players who are

packed inside that six yard box. Campbell, I believe, standing on the toes of Stephen Fry, arm up in the air, Referee wiss to his mouth, gets it going or whipped in high towards the far corner, headed up in the air. We wanna saved by stefan cry point blank header inside the six yard box. I think it was Campbell. And there's Stephen Fry. You talked about it last week about the mistake he thought he made against

the LA Galaxy. Well he's made up for it with that save. As the ball comes across headed point blank on what is saved by Stephan Fry. Steve brilliant actually just reaction. Ball comes right in but high fantastic hands or gets knocked up in the air. It's gonna be a third corner in a row for Montreal. And listen, if you're an attacking plaything, Yeah, I've got a score here, but a scorekeeper you can do nothing except be

in the right position. And Stephan fran Wards. They got across pretty quickly. Ball isn't quite in the corner, but good reaction from point black range and I've a really strong hands to push that boat out. Third corner kicking a row for Montreal. Arm comes up. It's gonna be an instring again. With the right foot towards the near corner, headed clear well by Yamar finds the foot of Saliba. It's gonna flick it towards this near side, headed up in the air by Vargas, cushion headed by a tent to.

It gets dragged back momentarily the Ptentio use that powerful frame drive forward. Pierre comes across four walls out of bounds, right in front of the Sounders bench. It's gonna be a Sounder's throw. And the Flex membership is soccer on your schedule. Attend any regular season matches with who what you want, in the seats you want and save on single match pricing. In the fortieth minute, inching towards halftime, Sounders up two goals and hill off the back of two Railrudias goals, one powerhouse with his left foot, take a slightest of deflections, looked over the goalkeeper to the far corner, and then there was his third penalty already this season. The time it wasn't a Penenka was driven in the bottom left corner of the goal to score his fourth goal of the Seasonaldon just bundles over and lass tour

on the far side. You're free kicked from Montreal. You see Montreal. As we look at these stats, possessions still Montreal up fifty. As we mentioned, these are the stats. We're not looking at its goals. It's the results, yes, wins, Yeah, And I think the Sounders have managed well since getting that second Bard because Montreal, yes, step and pribb me it's a fantastic save. That's where my stet piece in the run of

played. It've had a lot of the board, but this sound has been very organized, not really been pulled out of position Montreal getting a board in good spots in the first two thirds and then struggling in that final third to really break down the Sounders or branch Metal. From that perspective, he's got to be very, very happy as well with what he's seen from his group today. We'll make sure you don't leave us at halftime, Jackson Felts,

Marcus Hanneman, We'll be back to break it all down. Much to breakdown on this first half. Two goals for the Sounders. Z Alex Drogar picks it up on the far side of the right, Piet comes and challenges him, clips his heels, goes down free kick for the Sounders. Yet five minutes before the end of this first half, we'll see how much time was added on refree injury. That knew who ar check, So expect to see,

you know, two to three minutes potentials. If all goes along, headed up in the air by Ruszneck Waterman just clips it forward, picked up by Cody Baker, just skips bicily but well played by the Sounders. Left back gets dragged down. That's gonna be another yellow card from Montreal, and that's an SGB yellow card. When a fowl is called, SGB trial lawyers are here to help visit SGB deb SGB dash law dot. Come see.

These are the moments where it's nicer to kind of manage the game, get some free kicks, just slow it down, get in the locker room, reorganize, and then come out in that second half, which the last couple of games, the Sounders has done a good job coming out of the second

half. Could they have on fire? And I think that's what the team wants in a Brangchmans that he does want to get into half time, just take a deep breath, because when you haven't won yet in the season and you're pressing for that first win, even to know it can be dangerous cornad because it takes one moment, one mistake, one set piece, and suddenly you start getting a little bit of it'll be bit anxious again and thinking,

you know, he's just really gonna be pulled away from us. So I think if you're the Sounders, get into halftime, regroup, recalibrate, but getting there at least tuning up. You don't want to conceive you for half time. If you can get a third, absolutely you take it. But short of that manage the game manager, set pieces, walk to every ball out of play, take your time, possess the ball and then defensively go into press and chase. Just stay in a good block. And they have

done that so far. I think there are things still they can do better. I think Jordan Morris can be a bit more involved in the game. I think the game can go a bit more for Albert Rusnat too. But when you've got a two goals draft from Rudiaz, it buys you that lediency to maybe not be at your absolute best and the Sounders are benefited from that today. Well, as you mentioned, Jordan Morris, just ten touches on the half so far, talk about being more involved on that left hand side.

As the ball goes down the right to Christian World, down towards the end line, just a little step up, a clip towards that far post. It was into the side net and gonna be a goalkick from Montreal to get here. In the forty third minute tick down the second towards half time, sound us up two goals to nil the back of two goals of Ravalydes and the score up they is presented by Providence Swedish six wins out of nine games coming into tonight from Montreal two wins has been three wins on the truck

from Montreal against the Sounders. Let's one back in twenty twenty two. Sounder's getting a much better foothold in this game. As the ball goes down the left hand side to Lasseter, the Sounders retreat in numbers. All gets clipped towards the far post, easily collected by step from fright. So he looks for a quick distribution and just pulls the ball into his chest, slows the game down. Yeah, and exactly what we talked about. That's the experience

of Stephan Friday. Of course, Jordan Morris and Russnik and Ruthyaz. They were on their backs, they were out on the attack. Can you kind of go for it? But why not? Why not just slow down, let your defenders, your back line g up towards the halfway line, take some time off the clock an inch close and closer towards half time with this comfortable lead, well, Discount Tire get thirty percent sure to average weight time when you buy a book online at discount tire dot com. Get here.

In the final minute of regulation in this first half, Sounders and Brian Schmett's halftime team talk. As long as things stay the same, it should be much brighter, more positive than they have been in weeks past. Or given away cheaply by Raoul good recovery attack of by attention wins the ball. But here come Montreal. Jackson does a good job, steps forward, but giving

away. Piet picks it up and Sounders half of the field and Schwanier good step by ye Mar as you'd expect from the man who's led MLS in the last couple of seasons by interceptions, but given away cheaply by Alex Roldan. That's not what Brian schmittz on the Sounders wont does Montreal have it halfway life far side the left is Sosa. You had that header inside the six yard box and consternation from the crowd as the board from the fourth official goals up

seven minutes. I've added time as the ball get shifted down the right hand side to rwand inside the sounder's box across the six yard box cleared by Alex Roldan. But that's a warning shot by Montreal. Seems that warning and that's the danger that's what we're talking about. For the Sounders. If Montreal are able to execute on that attack the game behind really well again on his right hand side, then it has been a brass spot for them. Ball into

the box is cleared well. But if Jons Martinez on the same pace there and that's the tap in, suddenly two to one, six more minutes to see out here. Just at the time you got a whole second half, things get a little bit more anxious and uncomfortable than it needs to be. So you have to try to manage the game and close out for the Sounders.

It doesn't mean you become tentative and play too defensive. Maybe you do get a board into the montrealf a bit more, maybe a bit more direct, and ask Jordan Morris to give you two or three more runs and Christian all down the same, but keep the board as far away from stephanm Friest as possible because two nil. The reason it's a danger scoring on is that one quote shift momentum. And as I said, Bryce Smisson always tells these

guys goals change games, and that's exactly what Monchial would be backing. The ball goes up in the air by step and fright rolls out of bounds on this near side. The left went in front of the Montreal bench. Montreal coming in tonight for the back of two losses. One they'll loss last week to DC and then of course that four to three loss that we talked about in Chicago. They were up two nil, they were up three to one.

Then after the eightieth minute it was Chicago who came back scored three goals. The final ten minutes of regulation and into injury time, the Sounders just dropped their lines or gets shifted from the center waterward to the far side the left to Sosa to Lass to Hug in that far touch line and the Sounders

just sit absorb that pressure see out these minutes. And of course some of the changes that MLS has made is that rolling clock, because we see it on the board, even the forty seventh minute, two minutes of seven that were added on due to var and jury to Nuho who went off early in the first half due to an injury. Couldy Baker's come on to slot in on that left hand side as Rosnack steps in well wins the tackle, the

Sounders break. Now Ball tries to go over the top to Jordan Morris, rolls all the way through to Suah in the Montreal goal, the waterman to the far side, the left of Sosa, the Steve branch Metz will be happy. You know, you haven't seen him off his feet too much Sounders. After the initial ten to fifteen minutes of Montreal pressure, they seem to get that goal out of really nothing. We mentioned they needed a bit of magic to happen. It happened, and then they started playing the front foot.

Yeah, it changed the whole feel of the game. I think he would have had concerns with the start of that game. I think Montreal a little bit too comfortable, a bit too much possession, and the Sounders. You know, you don't need to dominate the ball all the time, but they were not even really being good in transition. The ball comes and the sound has got to a good space. Got a second goal. I've been in control. But there's things like this. Now we beginning to creep into

the game here, and you need half time for the sounds. But Jackson Reagan goes into the book as it just a little bit slow to close down on his right hand side. The sounds left hand side and Montreal with another chance to get a bull into the box and try to claw their way back before half time, just misread that ball. It was to try and spend it out of bounds, but it didn't have the pace to go, and then it got caught both stuck under his feet and it was cocker or he

wriggled free and Jackson had to pull him down. And it's been somewhat the story of Jackson Reagan's earlier part of the season. Made a couple of mistakes. San Jose of course, trying to try to step up the line and then missed that tackle for that third goal that happened just seconds after the sound is tying goal by Missofsky. Sounds are gonna have to hold strong as they hold the line on that he ca spot twelve yards from stepfren Fry's goal.

Free kick on this right channel, this near side, it's gonna be Schwannier and up right foot Rosnak ten yards away. Ball comes in easily collected by stephfaren Frys. He fours to the ground. Get here in forty ninth minute to the fiftieth minute, just over two and a half minutes to play. Here in this first half at lumin Field to mention they'll leave us Jackson felts Marcus Hanneman. We're back at half time to break it all down. Talk

about the sounder's performance in this first half. Jordan Morris present when the ball gets double team but it's gonna be a foul on Alex Roldan who came inside. What is ankle's clipped? Sam's gonna have a free kick inside the Montreal half of the field, So get it going quickly with Rossnak claying that number ten todays. He strikes forward, knocks it to the far side the right, comes into potential, almost finds the foot of Rosdeck ricochets around top corner

of the box, plays it too. Morris as rude, Yes, two goals on the night. Riggles free trying to find that hat trick, that first half hat trick. Almost got it after a really good save. Kickbare comes in, just chopping it off the ball by watermen as roll Da made a slashing run from right into the center of the eighteen yard box. Just good defending by waterman Steve just brushed him off. The ball goes through to the goalkeeper. Yeah, it was good. And you know he read the

run of Christian. Christian does that so well that outside in run and Cody Baker spotted him. They weren't quite able to connect in terms of the timing of the pass and the run, but Watermen did defend the words, getting his body in the way, make sure Christian Rodan could not get there. And then a board trickle back to his goal keeper all down the left hand side with Cody Becaus wh whipped the ball down, plucks off the chest of Campbell, says to the goalkeeper, whipped it to him, took it down

off his chest. Well cleared his lines out for a Sounders throwing. One minute to go in this first half, seven minutes of added time. Sounders happy with the throat and rolling down the left hand side to Ruy Diaz, challenged by Campbell the yard or two towards the corner flag, just holding the ball up, shepping it out of bounds. It's gonna be a throwing for the Sounders. Well played by Raoul to start to see his final seconds tick

by. The Sounders should go into the halftime and into the locker room. Two goals up. It's soon have been a while since we've had that score line. Of course, winless so far this season, Bottimore the Western Conference, but this is more likely for the Sounders, says, run bundles over Coddy Baker and the towards the corner flag. That should see out the final few seconds as the second tick by the Rosnecks, She's gonna go over and

put the ball down. I'm gonna whit this boiler and the Sounder is gonna have one final chance. Can you find that third goal? Is the big men do? Go up yamar Reigan Morris, sitting eight yards from the Montreal goal. They find that final bit of magic in this first half, gett a third goal and put this game somewhat to bed. In swing of the right foot comes in top of the sixth headed clear by Montreal, top of

the box to Vargas. There's a refereez whistle for halftime. Well, gold by Ruy Diaz in the twentieth minute, shot with his left foot that looked over the goalkeeper, and then a penalty in the twenty seventh minute puts the Sounders up two goals to nail. Steve's your final fucks yeah, and I think the goal changed the game. Rudy. As for a moment of magic really took the game away from Montreal trying to do At that point they began to chase even more. Sounders find a few more spaces, then go to

penalty. Quit timing and we're able to manage to see the half foul. And you could have ask some more than's when a half time two? Know what, Well, that's a lot more like it what we expect to see from the Sounders. A dreary night, but perfect conditions for Sounders soccer. We'll take a short break, Jackson Felds, Marcus Hanneman, We'll be back to break it all down at halftime. Here an EQC pitch at Lumen Field, it sounds to Montreal nil. You're listening to Sounders fcsucker. Sounders fcsucker is brought to you by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC and by Delta Airlines, Proud to donate one soccer ball for every mile rand by Sounders FC players this season through the Rape Foundations One Mile, One Ball program. Now time for the Sounders FC halftime show first half in the books here from Womenfield. You're Seattle

Sounders leading Montreal to nothing. Probably the best forty five minutes of the season. It's really a shame that forty five minutes came after knew who's injury there in the eighth minute, he went down. Looked like it might have been left quad, but he was taking off the pitch. Cody Baker came on in the eleventh minute and the Sounders swored from there, two goals from all Ruy Diaz a magical goal in the twentieth minute, a penalty in the twenty

seventh. Welcome into the halftimes, Joe Jackson Feltz Marcus Hannaman here to break down the first half. Marcus, that was the Sounders soccer we've been waiting to see. Yeah, it was nice. You know, they were able to absorb some pressure in the first half. Montreal looked really good and came out strong and was looked like they were going to be hard to break down. And you know it was across and Ruey Diaz one touch finish from a knockback. It was great that goal. I don't know, as a goalkeeper,

what can you do on that. It's just it's a moment of magic from a brilliant striker. Right, I would have said seven FRII would have saved seven. Pan had a hell of a saving the thirty eighth minute. Yeah, great save. But you know, as we say, and we've said in the broadcast, many times, goals change games. And after that

goal, it was a different game. We saw much more up and down play and it led to the penalty, which was what's interesting watching it back where a Montreal defender heads it towards the spot in the bucks and Albert runs in and a defender catches his foot. It seemed like it was just sort of the Montrea hall is kind of just saying, come on, well, what are we supposed to do. And it's it's great execution from the Sounders

to earn that penalty too. Yeah, just putting putting them under pressure, right, and you know, when you have five of the back, it's difficult to break them down. And they did exactly what I said in the broadcast or something. You got to hit crosses in. They hit a diagonal ball in, headed back right and and guess what, Ruy Diaz is there to pounce a one touch finish. Yeah, I mean, it's it's great for the Sounders right now leading to to nothing and then defensively Marcus not having

new who in the game now, we don't know his injury status. We saw him walking off the field there for the first half. Who knows what that'll be. But Cody Baker coming in and Cody Baker getting recent opportunities, He's got a kid full of confidence right now. It looked like he was ready to go. We're seeing nice runs, We're seeing good vision. The kid is a natural there at left back, being able to come in and

fill in that spot. No, it's his strongest position for sure, and and he's come in, he's at as a couple of good opportunities to kind of get in behind and you know he could have hit that look like maybe a little bit sooner and you try to take that extra touch and then you got, uh, you know, he ended up being in a tackle, so you know, getting that early ball in for him, you know, especially when you got a young kid, if you get a little bit of space, whip the ball in, you know, and if all of a

sudden you do a couple of those Ruy Diaz and Jordan Morris are gonna be like, oh okay, he's gonna hit this ball. I'm gonna make my run. And you know it's like the chicken in the egg, right, if you keep hitting that ball in there, keep hitting good balls, right, it'll happen. Believe that. Believe it's the ball is gonna be there, make the run. And we may see that. Because Cody Baker right now he has the assist on the season to Mazowski, we know he can

hit good crosses. We'll see what happens here in the second half. sounder's bench tonight. It includes hobbyer, Ariaga, du A Paulo, Paul rob Throw, Jon Vampell, Danny Mazowski, Andrew Thomas, Danny Lava, and Dylan TeVeS should be noted the Sounders have already made one sub, that being Cody Baker coming in for the injured Knew who there in the tenth minute, So the Sounders have four subs remaining in this game amongst those players. So Marcus leading this game two to nothing right now, we're feeling good.

But how do the Sounders hold onto this, maybe even get a third and come away with their first win of the year. Well, this is the problem because when you're at this two nil score line, right, you've been like, how do we hold onto this? Right? Instead of doing what we've been doing right, you have to be still attacking, right and being

at home. I think we've got some sort of chance so that the players are gonna want to come out and you know, meet come out with energy and hopefully go for that third one well, and hopefully we get him. I mean, shoot, rabul you said in the pre match show. I believe you said two goals for ral Rudy as he's onto right now, so we're rooting for him to say with two and nail your prediction or get the first hat trick for the Sounders in a long time. Well, I said

two one touch finishes which did happen? All? Well then yeah there with and go yeah so no I would I would be okay with Rui Das scoring eight goals today, but just stay with my prediction. Yes, someone else has to score, so come on Jordan Morris and uh and then I hope I don't come true. And Steph can keep a clean sheet? Yeah, and exactly, and that save he made in the thirty eighth minute was great. Keeping that clean sheet would be fantastic well. Sanders EPSI Soccer is presented

The sound As players already out on the field ready to go, not their words from Brian Schmidtze as you mentioned going into

halftime. Those words will probably be a lot more positive than they had been in weeks past. The Sounders leading two goals sanil here at Lumen Field was a strike by Rudiez in the twentieth minute with his left foot that looked over the goalkeeper to get the Sounders on the board, and then a twenty seventh minute PK, the fourth PK for the Sounders already this season, three of those scored by Raoul, one of those scored, of course, by Petro

de la Vega in that first game in his debut for the Sounders. Let's see, we're gonna see how the Sounders lineup. We've talked about it a halftime. Is Brian gonna make some changes? Of course, you got Jackson on a yellow card. The last thing you want is a repeat of what happened to Colorado where at ten too. Of course, got early yellow card in the second half. Put the Sounders on the back foot, and need now to play on the front foot. Find that third goal. Put this

game to that. And I think that's what it's gonna be about. It's gonna be about this first fifteen minutes. Litt going to try to kill the game off if we can. If we cannot kill the game off, don't give it away, don't give Montreal way back in. But you also not keep in mind what a perfect night it would be to get John Polo back in to get him some minutes. You know you're gonna have some tough games

coming up here, big stretch coming up. You're trying to turn your season around and get back on track and get going, and John Potter's obviously going to be a big piece of that. And as soon as you can get him ten fifteen to twenty thirty minutes, the better. But the game has to be set up in the right way, and you'd think two nil,

three nil six. Fifth minute. He comes to it well, gets the game going, plays the ball back to Jack, so Regan drives it from center the far side to the left Jordan Morris only twelve touches in the first half of Jordan all goes to Russa. It'll loose on the touch, momentarily given away, but the Sounders retrieve it, build again. Fall in the middle of the park with Vargas who gets a clip from behind by tewany A

and Vargas knocks out of bounds. It's gonna be a throw in four Montreal on the farst side the right, with Campbell as he trots forward, referee just pushing him back, gets himself in the right spot. Montreal came out of the gates quick in that first off handball looked like from Saliba, Yes, given by the referee. You're know, early opportunity for the Sounders to put some quality in the box. We saw this for that first goal. See if you and I were talking, it's just about good delivery and he

Rose sometimes has tricks up his sleeve on these set pieces. Sometimes he's got to put the ball in the right area and then make things happen. And it was and you have got a lot of credit to Jackson Reagan. He went and really kept that play alive. The ball was hit on the back, Boles heads it down and of course yes does the rest. It was fantastic. But make no mistake about the role Jackson Reagan played in that ball clips and by Alex Roul Dahan top of the box with Rui diash struck just

over the top. Jackson o Reagan so try to find his first goal for the Sounders four assists last year, didn't get his breakthrough on goals, just scoops it over the top goal kick Montreal and then they get it going quickly as they launch it down the line with Sosa. It's near side the left good headed by Jackson Reigan, picked up by Christian world Ark coming off that

right hand side to the foot of Rudette. Down the right hand side is to Russneck eight yards from the end line, whips it in, cleared by Waterman, picked up by Sosa deep on their left hand side, given away by the Montreal left sided defender, finds the foot of Vargas middle of the field. Montreal really got nothing to lose coming out of the gates here. As we mentioned six games in a row to start the season playing away from

home. We'll go back next week play back in Montreal against Cincinnati because their second part their season, weary road team, can the Sounder take advantage with Cody Baker plays the ball into Jordan Morris inside the box. Triple team by Montreal, more people, then number nine Cocker up back to help his team defend. What goes into roll Dono, who's found himself on that left hand side. Fargas driving forward, slips towards the end line to Christian Waldo whips

on the sex and there's JORDAANH. Morris. It was a little flecked on and in the back of the nad It goes and that's exactly what Jordan Morris needed, and that's exactly what the Sounders wanted coming into this second half and they go up three goals to nail against Montreal, and it's a brilliant, brilliant team boat. It's so well worked. The role of Albert Vargas is

fantastic. He tries at the back line, sees what comes to him a fantastic little slip past the Christian rodana and this so we know everything's shacked. Christians round the edge there in terms of outside but putting a great board. It has a very very clever finish by Jordan Morris. Lovely little flick there and it's what Jordan leader. Hasn't been too involved in the game, could have had more touches, but gets into the right position there and they are

going to check this conscription was close when the pass was played. When the checks complete, the sound is freno up. It's exactly what they need. Enough think for Montreal it may be too long of the way back now now for the Sounders is put there gear even too fifth gear and push this game forward, find the fourth goal, get these Sounders fans excited. The ball goes in from Vargas well head collision gets your rosneck here right in front the

Sounder's bench. Reugh, we needs to stop the game. Fourth of fishing lot putting any signal up here as it comes to his feet gingerly. I'll get you that lineup. But really good start to this second half of the Sounders. It was Montreal came out of the gates quick in that first half. This time it's the Sounders. The Montreal have it far side, the right ball goes out of play. Let's get the starting lineup for the Sounders coming out in the second half. No changes from what finish that first half.

Stephan Frying goal back forth, roll don Yeamar Reagan and Cody Baker open Vargas, Josh Atensio in the middle of the park, Christian rolled on on the right, Rusnak in the ten, Morris on the left, and rail Roudiez up front. It's bought, launched a long by Baker, blocked by Montreal. Here they come with Schwanye flicks to this near side the left with Lassitero, who's going to play the ball in, clips off, rolled on trickles through to the hands of Stephen Fryn let's get you that lineup for Montreal

and expect to see some changes from them as this half progresses. But see why in goal the back three of Campbell, Waterman, Sosa run on the right hand side, Lassiter on the left hand side, Saliba and Piet in the middle. Schwanier is the ten and then Martiniz and Cokero up front. But Steve. Whatever Brian Schmidtz has said to his team, it worked,

a little bit of magic from Jordan Morris. We talked about it in pregame before he came on the air that Jordan just needs that instinctual finish, don't think about it, based on the type of form he's been struggling with the last couple of weeks. That just showed the striker's instinct and also the quality he's got. And it was good. It was very good. His movement was good. The whole team build up to that play was very good.

Vargas played a massive role, of course, and then the cross from Christian Rodin finds Jordan Morris. It's not easy finish a clever little adjustment, a nice little flick there, and no that's a little deflection on the way in. But was a great finish by Jordan Morris. And you know in the first half he's the one player for I want to see more involved. You know, the team's playing well, Rawld's finding his touches. Jordan only had twelve touches in the first half, so can you see him more involved?

And it comes out in the second half and has the best start possible. Sleever inside the box, ball dropped to Martinez top of the box. Did he to go a chance? Knocks it wide, but that was a half chance for Montreal. In transition, all came in from Saliba, found the foot of Martinez. Cody Baker looks like it's on the deck. See what happened there? To look at the replay that have concern for the Sounders team.

Actually is josh a Tentil maybe just jammed his leg, gets up gingerly, just runs it off and see if we're gonna look at the bench right here. But Brian's got some decisions to make. We talked about Jackson Reagan being on a yellow card. He picked up towards the back end of that first half. See Oriaga's on the bench, will be an easy solution for the Sounders. He's bad minutes in the last couple of weeks. Is that gonna be a yellow card? Yes, it is a second year for Saliba,

Yes it is. And that's an SGB yellow card and an SGB red card. When a fowl is called, SGB trial lawyers are here to help visit SGB dash law got calm and Steve a goal coming out of the gates by Jordan Morris. Of all people, the Sounders would have loved to have that. They got it now a red card. It goes from back to us in Montreal, and very little argument, you know, Albin Vargas, and there's no need to make that challenge. Old Bed's not running the board

there. He's only gonna poke it forward and there's no danger. You're not trying to get behind. He's in his own half. Salimar unnecessarily both the ground and you can have no complaints. I'm absolutely one, one hundred percent a yellow card. And for Montreal, this game's over and for the Sounders now it's about Yes, you mentioned how deep can rach Musta go into the bench. You're gonna have to think it's the perfect scenario to bring back John

Parlow get the cloud buzzing again. But this could not have gone any better for the Sounders. O little la la, goodbye the Sounders fans call out as Sleever trudges off the field on the far side, making his way through the tunnel. Sounders, Now, it's not about taking your foot off the gas, it's about pushing it further forward. Can they find more goals? Can they make a statement? Now? Ball goes down the left hand side

of Jordan Morris with his left foot. Good ball clipped away by Sosa, almost found the foot of a galloping Christian wrold On, but it's his brother. Alex top corner of the box, picks it up, lays the ball square to a tensio top of the d little one two with Jordan Morris's left foot just clips it in, finds the hands of Siewar in the Montreal goal.

But let's get you the bench for the Sounders, Ariaga, Jao, Paolo, Paul Rothrock, Jonathan Bell, Danny Massovski, Andrew Thomas, the goalie, Danny Laver, Dylan Tevis and of course Coddy Baker, who came on the field in the first half after knew who picked up an injury. So Steve mentioned sounders have choices Brian Schevetzer has choices and the logical choices to protect the players that need to be protected, such as those on the yellow

card. Morris, now it's gonna find a bit more joy. Little peppinist step after gett that goal. There he goes, drives forward ball down the line. There it finds Jordan Morris towards the end line. Comes back to a Tensio to Russnik. Continue to look down and see what type of action is happening on the bench. It's Cody Baker steps forward twenty five yards from

gold slipped into Jordan Morris inside the box looking for options. Comes back to a Russick drives it safely collects in the end by see War and the Montreal goal. But good strike by Russnk remains Sounders three Montreal nail Steve zac Quani and it's very good football again for the Sounders. It's very free flowing and they're getting multiple pleasure involved. And over the years when the Sounders have been at the best, it is what we see the attack. It's very dynamic,

it's interchanging. It's rossnack on the ball. It's freshing on the left then the right and Jordan's everywhere, and the Sounder is right now readeeing themselves and putting Montreal to bed. Here right already has inside the box, left foot just trickles across the six almost finds Jordan Morris mishit shot. Sounders certainly playing on the front foot. And we've had ten minutes on a second half and Jordan Morris has ten touches and he took twelve in the entire first half.

So what a difference a half has made. I don't know what happened a half time with Jordan Morris, but his involvement and the team is much better when he's buzzing around and being disinvolved in possession, which he is right now. Or just a goal as well, right, just that confidence of me being in those situations, just looking for a goal, finding a spot. We saw Jordan coming into the team in twenty sixteen. I remember that

first game againt Kansas City. He went through one on one with the goalie the twentieth minute, skied it over the top, and then it took him a number of games to find that goal. E Actually it came when it opened up his account for the Sounders. He drives forward ball goes back from Ruan bat to Siua, plays the ball into Campbell. A quick little turn by the right sided central defender comes back to his foot, plays a short

to Ruin. A little pressure from the Sounders. Now Montreal down to ten men by Saliba, second yellow early in this first the second half that match up against Jordan Morris's first goal of the season. One of all people to get him off the mark. That's exactly what Brian Schmitzer would have wanted.

Ball at the foot of Alex roll darm go square inside the box. A little turned by Ruy Diez finds roll Darn headed up in the air by Morris, cleared by Sosa, bounces middle of the park headed by Yema and here come the Sounders again. It's be much of the same given away by Jackson Reagan unnecessarily it's gonna roll over the far touch line for a Montreal throw.

You see a change from Montreal. Clickta Wan Yama, former Spurs player, Southampton player's gonna come off the field for cokerow So, I think that's just the factor of solidify in the middle of the park, take off a forward. Game's gone for the most part. Rest him up next week. Yeah, bringing a veteran player when Yama game some minutes as well, obviously not

maybe the player he once was, but a fantastic blurt. He's very prime and he's maybe the kind of guy can just come in and just settle things for Montreal a little bit, because right now they're chasing shadows and everything we saw in the first half, how dynamic and brave they looked, that's been out the window. The Sounders have gone to a completely different level here, and especially now with the man advantage, can made them pay even more.

They come the Sounders ball inside the box. We'll play back to Christian wroldonald smashes it in, comes off block by who it is, back into Rochnacks, blocked by Montreal, comes out to Cody Baker. Sounders now coming in waves all they'll want two to Rusnack across the box, deflected over the end line, corner kick. Sounders remain Sounders three Montreal. Now it's really, really, really good football. And this was happening before the ten men.

It's been up another gate since Montreal been down to ten men. Bock Albert russ Knack as involved as we've seen him all season. Jordan Morris as involved seeing more season. It's the best scene. So all your attacking guys are the Sounders today playing near the best and this is what it can look like. Hey, Montreal, Rooklan, They're gonna concede every time the Sounders attacked,

and Brasmus any stuff might be very pleased. Right now, all comes in driven this time top of the six headed up and away by Piet by Ruan who clips it up in the air, miss directs it. Ball bounced around inside the eighteen. Eventually cleared only finds the foot of Rossac brings it down the back of his heel. Shows the confidence the Sounders are playing in right now, well done. They'll flick around the corner to attend to your ball. Square to Ruids, try to find the bottom corner. See what

goes down to his right clexit easily. Sounders remain three goals up on the night here at QC pitch Luominfield, I'm fifty KGr am wherever you're listening to us in the car at home on Apple, Sounders are playing more like the Sounders tonight on a very pacific northwest night light drizzle, Field is slip and wet and the Sounders are playing up a man and playing up three goals to nil as Araznak collects it, plays the ball back to Jackson. Reagan sitting

on a yellow cardinal. See if Bryan makes a change protects him. Oriaga is sitting on the bench. You're likely like for like swap on that left hand side of the two center backs. The board goes square to Rosnik or some time and space. It's going to be a long thirty minutes four Montreal. They're sick away game in a row, down to ten men early in the second half. In the way that the Sounders are playing, you expect more goals and their record Steve is not great, giving up five of eight

goals this season in the last fifteen minutes of the game. So Sounders certainly have the opportunity to put some more on the board, make a statement back in the lys. Yeah, and this is one thing the sounds I've done really well second half. It's just more dynamic movement. No Christian ro'donald right now pops up on the left, but Rusna's been out there a couple of

times. He's now Jordan on the right. It's just not aesthetic and the movements aren't as predictable if you do in the first half, and when the sound has played this way, it's very hard for anything to stay with them, as Montreal finding out, and especially if you've got to do it being a man down third corner Cake for the Sounders. It was Cody Baker drove Ford Ruan defended well one of the end line. It's gonna be a Sounder's

corner Cack on the far side. The Sounders left in swinger with the foot of Resnack, goes short to Alex rolled On, goes back to Russneck. Won't your step up their line towards the top of the box gets clipped into the far post of Goes Jackson. Awake comes off Reagan's head goal kick for Montreal, but Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. In the sixty second minute, Sounders up three goals to

nil. Two goals by Rudy As in the first half and then Jordan Morris' first goal on his season in the second half. Really good flipped behind his back heel, top of the six trickled over the end line, over the goal line the back of the net. Sanders could have hoped for a better start to that second half. Now it's all about just doing a professional job and we'll see what kind of changes will happen off the Sounders bench. The ball gets clipped down the line, Jordan Morris got some time and space,

does he collect it goes over far touch line. Could have been a Montreal thrower. It's a chance to us. Couldy Baker's had the space, could have laid it in unfortunately, just ahead of Jordan Morris. Yeah, it just ended up not quite working out with the weight of the past there and Jordan, as fast as he is, couldn't quite get there to have on the board. But you do wander too. I'm thinking of here for branch message. Just how long until we see Joe part of Alex roll down his

left foot to come off Montreal player. It doesn't. It sliced over. Big goal kicked for Montreal. And if your thought, Steve, yeah, just how long because this is a kind of game you want to see him get in here. Sounders have all the possession on the front foot. The game's done, Montreal. I'm not gonna score three goals, let alone four. It doesn't look like that. Listen, in football, anything can happen. But the Sounders look very much in control. So it's a perfect game

to get JP and they get some touches. Let's get his feedback under him. Can I ask you a question in terms of this type of game. The way that Sounders have played is Brian's mentality. You know what, we have an opportunity to get these guys some confidence. They're starting in eleven, so to speak. Let's leave him out there and give them the time and space to really find their feet, find their form, and then start to

make changes, maybe towards the end of the second half. Yeah, I see no reason to not ride Jordan Morris, Raoul Christian Rodun as long as you can. Those guys are out there. No, you have no midweek game, You've got plenty of time to rest, and it's been a tough season and they're feeling well, playing well. For example, Albert russ Nak, he's been in and out the lineup, he's there was some ankle issues,

so played him as long as possible. Get the rhythm there, get a confidence up, and then listen, if you have to go to your bench, you get some of the young guys in and some of the reserve players in. You do so when you need something, But I don't think Jordan Raoul, Christian Albert want to come out today. They want to be out there, They enjoying themselves and you can get JP into that mix as well. It will be almost a perfect game for the sound is here in

terms of how it's all unfolded. What certainly Rairerold doesn't want to come off sitting on two goals one away from miss hat trick almost got it in that first half. It was a good say by Sie War to his right. Jordan Morrish just clattered into the back of Piere pre kicked for Montreal. Sounds already picking up their stats one point one to one expected goals. They're up

three goals to nil. Wh sure how that works out. Eleven shots, five of those on targeting for Montreal this season so far they've given up fivein eight shots on target per game. That's the third highest and MLS the Sounders are creeping up to that average. There's been a bit of a hot seat in Montreal three coaches in three years COURTOI of course coming in will for Nanci having played some time here before going to Columbus Crew and winning a championship last

year. As the ball gets flipped over the top to Jordan Morris and he barrel's way through, he doesn't. Campbell comes across, flips it back to Cure in the Montreal goal, who clips it along towards Lassiter just evades Alex Roldan, and that's the story of Montreal's night. As Lassi just runs it over the near touchline for a sounder's throat. Well. This copyrighted audio cast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the

So far it's been an enjoyable game for these fans coming out tonight. I just want to see Dallas next week away from home. Never an easy place to play, but certainly much more enjoyable playing at this time of the year than playing in the heart of summer.

The sound has come away and transition ball plays will step up by Rosnick finds the foot of Jordan Morris fast side the left. See steps up Ruan won't be one by Jordan Morris has got a bit of pepp and his step now a bit more confidence than his play. We've seen him drive forward many a time the second half, rosneck orchestrating things in that number ten year old.

Of course, he picked up a last minute injury before all that first game against l e f C. The day before the game in l A. In l A, it's up an ankle injury that gets him out of the team for a good month. Now he's back fit. As Ruydiez comes across challenges Sosa, he's certainly got the bit between his teeth. We started to see a couple more changes for Montreal as they try to save some legs.

It's gonna be Martinez who's gonna come off the field. Mason Toy comes on the field in their last game, Toy when Montreal came in here one two goals to what it was, Toy. We scored two goals after an early Jordan Morris gold to get that two to one win. And it's gonna be Piet the minutes' leader, the game's play leader for Montreal, the captain. He's going to come off the field. That's gonna be Zuhiir is gonna come on the field in the middle of the park. Yeah, and that's waving

the white flags. Don't speak and you can't blame the Montreal to be fair, came out here with good intention, spared the game very well. But ever since that initial first rowl Ridiaz finish, there's been all sounders and it's gone downhill for Montreal. And I think the third goal, yes, took the air out of the game, but the red card, there's no way

back after that. Porficked over the top. It was intense year. He had the opportunity to play it over the top to find Ruyder just clipped it a bit too long, skip through the goalkeeper and here come Montreal again. As you mentioned, see, I think it's partly give some guys some minutes who haven't had those minutes yet in these early parts of the season, because tis they're pretty consistent. Eleven. A couple of changes tonight with Saliba coming

in to that central midfield. Of course, getting that red card. I'll take him out next week for the Cincinnata game. The twenty ah tries to clip the ball from right to left chested into the hands of Stephan Fry and the Sounders are gonna come again born the left hand side with Cody Baker. Let's get you some of those results around the league, especially in this Western Conference. White Caps continue there really strong starts the season, beating fellow Canadian

side Toronto four goals to nil. As the sound is built in the Montreeur half of the field, Rosnak just skips by, finds the foot of rolled On Alex rolled On it's nearside the right hugging the right touchline. Sounders need to keep the board moving in Montreal, Chasing has a few fresh legs on the field because Rosnik has a bright in front of Brian Schmitz on the Sounder

his bench. No additional changes for Brian of the early change forced by a knew who injury by Cody Baker coming on the field, and see these look comfortable in that left hand side. Yes, hasn't really been tested. I think he's done everything he had to do and also gave a little bit more offensively. You was just a bit more offensively than maybe you expect in Cody Baker, very very brave in possession, doesn't mind driving and praying things and

making things happen. And I think he's defending well and allowed Jordan Morris, especially in the second half, to focus just on your attacking piece. And of course Montreal have not had much to offer. But it's good for the Sounders to have that because new Who, as good as he is, you have to be pushed. And having Cody Bacon waiting on the wings there knowing that, hey, if you drop your level, we'll turn to this guy. I think that's only good for the Sounders, only good for new Who,

and of course good for Cody Baker. Sounders have it flicked over the top. It's gonna go to the end line for a goal kick for Montreal's. The Sounders continued to lean here the seventy first minute, three goals to nil. Let's get you a couple more scores into Miami. Two Colorado Rapids two, the Rapids going in and the Chris Armas going into Miami on the return of Neil or Messi. I actually get a point LAFC against the LA

Galaxy and the FC can be out two to one winners. And that local derby Saint Louis City nil Dallas Nils opposition for the Sounders next week Nashville one, Philadelphi Union two. Of course, that rearranged game after the game in Philadelphis a couple of weeks ago was canceled. Just do the water log field and torrential downpour. As we said, he wasn't raining cats and dogs.

It was like raining rhinos and elephants. Said that, I was surprised that game even got to go ahead, and I think after a few minutes we want to see that that game should probably never have been played. Minnesota United one Rail Salt Lake one. Minnesota continue their strong start to their year now under new head coach Ramsey cu some Dynamo going down two goals to one to

gain Chicago seven goal thriller US in four. San Jose Earthquakes three. Of course, we round out the Western Conference scores here in Lumenfield Sounders three, Montreal nil. Get here in the seventy second minutes, the sound is just maintained possession. Montreal happy just to contain. I don't want to give it anything else up here or goes long dumb left hand site given away by Jackson

Reagan. You can see the sub step down the right hand side, still standing behind the south goal, you're power leading the pack a couple of sprints. Bryan teptically has a tendency to make changes, maybe thirty minutes to go, twenty five minutes to go, but letting the players, I think it's what you mentioned is well, I think he's in two minds right now. Yes, I want to get some of these guys in, but the guys out they need this. They need a confidence, need the river need some

of the rotations, the movements that haven't quite been there this season. So you want to maybe run that as long as you can, and then yes, when you've got to make changes, sure you're gonna go ahead. But I think if you're the Sounders right now at some player see joh Partner, but I understand the strategy and logic from Branchman. So keep the guys out there as long as possible because they're having fun. Well, Sounders fans.

If Sounders FC scores any time after the eighteenth minute during a home match, you'll have the chance to win free Lasik surgery from Sharp Vision, modern lasic and lens. Sign up today at Sounders fc dot com slash laser Focus. Jordan Morris picks it up much more active in this second half. Of course, Peppin is step after scoring his first goal of the year to put the Sounds up three goals and ill here as they start to build in possession.

Sounders were stuck behind the possession count coming into the second half, but dominated so far sixty eight percent possession of the second half. As you'd expect after a red card from sleep or early in that first half, a little loosened the pass by Christian rolled on. It's just a demand from the senior players now to keep thinking sharp. There's a love combination with Rudy top of the box. Looks to shoot us tests well from all of twenty five yards from

the angle and stick. We've mentioned it in prior broadcast. There's really no better player than Rudds just taking a quick turn and just testing the goalkeeper from distance. Yeah, he doesn't need much at all, he does he I think. I think this season we've actually seen him a lot more involved. I was speaking to branch Metsu in the before the warm up before the game down on the pitch, who sat on the bench, and Rowald has been

a bit more involved we've seen in the past. Is he's dropping deep, he's getting touches sort of a new lease of life in a new road, but that is very best. He lives around the eighteen yard box, faces on the edge of that back line. He does not need much invitation, much base, much time at all to get He shuts off as you saw with the first goal for the Sounders. As finally branch mess have coursed a

couple of the substitutes over and we will see some changes. Open Vargus quick a little turning around, Huan drives forward inside the box cleared by water and only finds the foot of a tensier far side the left comes back to Jackson O Reagan will look down. We don't quite see through the shaded glass on the bench certainly the changes that Brian will make, but look at you that.

As I start to wander out towards the halfway line as Rosneck has it, rolls at square to Alex hold on his near side, finds Jordan Mora as top of the box. Quick a little turn by Jordan, flick up and over Lassener. He manages to recover hooks it clear with his left foot. All bounces by Yemar finds the foot of Jackson Reagan. Sounders in good voice. Now the Sounders fans in good voice. So it's the potential triple change. Oriaga as Christian hold on towards the end line, flicks towards that

back post. Cody Baker's gonna slash in try to close down Ruan. He plays the ball down the line. If the ball again knocks it towards toy goes out of bounce for a Sounder's throwing, and that's the opportunity potentially for the Sounders. Subs Massovski and I think that's a certain Shao Palo see Zacquey and huge, and that will get the biggest cheer, as if the fans have not had enough to cheer about today already. But we're gonna get a

massive cheer here for the jar parto substitution. I think one thing that Branxmison will be happy with this seventy six minute scene. The team has not let their foot off the guys after wearing up free nil even with ten men. You could have said that the game's over, we're gonna chill playing cruise control. They haven't done that. The Sounders have continued to push, continue to play, continue to press, and Montreal have had no outlet and if you're

a Montreal player, your ten men, your free, no down. You look across and you see Joe Polo coming on. Probably not what you want to see for a guy who is motivated and wants the game himself back in to his very best form for his first minutes of the season. And I think that's it right, you get Joe Palow is gonna demand dictating players. The ball goes down the line towards Pushy rold On inside the box, whips it in good tackle by Sosa, slips up in the air see war and

the Montreal goldplexit into his hands safely. But Jobe Howell's gonna demand a certain pace in the game as he gets and he's gonna have a few more seconds on the ball because of the fact that Sounders are uper goal and then Massofsky, of course, playing with Conference, had another good game against La Galaxy. After his first goal for the Sounders against San Jose, Per certainly wanted

to get on the board absolutely. And the thing for any player when you're coming into a game, no matter what a circumstance, is that this situation, yes, the game's over and the team's up a lot you don't want the level to drop. You want to always show the coach that you're an option. Of course, Gio Parlow, since he's arrived tam Seattle, listen, he's been one of the team, if not the team's most influential player. The town has definitely played very different with him out on the pitch.

Now, I think Jo Parlow, it reminds me a lot of us Vard Longs Win, a sense of he only has one gear, he only knows one way, he cannot come here and just kind of cheer and find his way. He's gonna come in player one hundred percent, getting people's faces, make tackles, get on the board, make passes, and it's good to see a truly fantastic player making's return. Well, the ball goes over the end line who was so sa and knocked it out for a Sounders corner kick,

And here come the changes, Here comes the standing ovation. First off Josha Tenci' making way for the return of Shao Paolo and here he comes, and listen to those fans, that's the lift of the Sounders. Faithful wanted Jackson Reagan comes off on a yellow card, of course, making way for haby Oriaga. Who's played extremely well his place over the course of the early parts of the season. And there's Jordan Morris comes off the field after getting

his first goal of his campaign. Were much brighter in the second half, and Ryan Schmetz to Steve leaves Raoul out there since he sits on two goals to find his hatching Yeah, ashy as that plays it short from a corner kick that's near side the right, finds the foot of Rolled on top of the boxes. Christian rolled on. There's Ruy Diaz with a strike block by Waterman finds the foot of Alex Rolled on right hand side. Rosneck can support

this right channel. There's Shoo Palace first touch to Rosnak, drives forward right corner of the box, Overlapp and run by Christian. Roaldon clips it in towards that far post, headed clear by Campbell, knocked back in by far Gas, clear by Montreal, headed forward by JP. There's ruy Diaz putting pressure on Iran on the right hand side, rolls it out of bounds for

a Sounders throwing fifteen yards from the corner flag the far left corner. A couple of final changes for Montreal by others, Ibrahim is gonna come off the field. See it makes Chamish twenty is gonna come off the field to Treutch. It off on the far side. It's like Watermen as well is gonna make an early exit, say walks off the end line. What comes to feelers Gabrielle Corbo in replacement of Waterman should be a lightful like switch, just

like tweak. We'll see if Corbo sits in the middle, it's like he's gonna make his way yet lightflike switch for Waterman. Center of the back three sound has habit thrown with Cody Baker comes back to Oriag with his first touch after his introduction, goes to Yamar inside the center circle, chased down by Mason Toy giving away cheaply. It comes Montreal in transition. It's Cody Baker's speed. What comes across the eighteen yard box cleaned up by Yamar. But

that's not what you want, Steve Wild. Cheap giveaway gives Montreal half a chance. When the sound has come back in defeder, well, yeah, and it's last ten minutes ever, we'll get for stoppage time. It's going to be about habits for the sounders. Listen is the game one, Yes, has it going according to plan? Yes, but now it's about habits. What kind of team do you want to be going forward? And we are a team that at three nail will get complacent, star against, sloppy,

make mistakes. You don't want to be that kind of team. It's a team that thinks championships, thinks winning, thinks you're titles. And for the Sounders, you want to do things the right way or we want two with Russknack left quart of the box goes in and there's the folk goal for the Sounders. Easy is you like? Crags roll down as he rolls it into an empty net. Great play down the left and side by russ Knack

and the Sounders go up. Ball goals to nil like it's Montreal. And that was all about Albert Russknak, And it's what you want to see more of. Yes on the score sheet, it's gonna go down as the goal from Alex roll down and he does his job getting into the box at the back posset and finishing making a simple finish. But that was Albert russ Knak picking the ball up in a dangerous bot turning driving the great little given both with Raludias and it has a presence of mind to play a lovely little cross

up there and puts it on the plate for Alex roll Down. But Albert russ Knight, with the departure of Nikoladero, he has a big, big role to play, and in this second half and the first off winning the penalty has begun to show that he can't step up even more for the team. Great assists, great go for the Sounders, and if it wasn't game over before, it's definitely definitely over now. Well, it was a rude

awakening for Corbo in the central back three. First thing he's got to do is pick the ball out of the back of the net as Alex roll On comes slashing in off the right hand side, just rolls it in from oh six yards into an empty net. Second assist on the night for Albert Russneck. Great night four the Sounders number eleven playing in that number ten spot, of course, played there towards the back end of last season, Nicolodero moved

on to Orlando Ro's next steps up a line. It's been an influential night for him as he continues to play out there. As we get here in

the eighty third minute, Sounders up four goals to nil. Just says Brian Schmetzer had scripted for today's games going to coming to the second half, it was about Sounders playing on the front foot, trying to add to that two goal lead they did with Jordan Morris, Montreal did the Sounders another favor, got a red card early by Saliba, and that really was that the JP middle of park sprays it to this near side, the right to goalscorer Alex

Roldan finds the foot of Vargas, who rolls it to Christian Roldan, who's been heavily involved in our right inside. Paul Gett flashed across the six yard bobs Justin Ludes Mussovsky in that back post and Ruan's gonna come away with it. But Steve, we've seen quality in their right hands and it's been Christian roaldarn I up put down that right hand side. Yeah, Christian has been very very good. Second, I think all the Sounders have, especially in

the attacking sense. You know, this team last year was formidable defensively, but the goal output wasn't quite what it was, and obviously the start of this season also have been a struggle so to see the offensive group sort of come alive. You know, on paper, we know how it can look, and we've now seen the glimpses of where it can be. And I think for the Sounders and I said, this is about the habits, about can you keep pushing when you PHONEO up, go for more? And I

think that's the makeup and personality of this team. And it's been very good to see for the Sounders today. Progas has it middle of the park in the Sounders half of the field just skips by Mason Toys. He plays the ball out the far side the left with Cody Baker who comes driving towards the middle of the park. Sloppy giveaway by Cody Baker, not what he wanted.

Montreal come away with it. We all. Seattle Sounders are heading to the Lone Star State to take on FC Dallas on Saturday, April thirteenth at five thirty pm. Watch the match, vire the MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and listen on ninety three point three KGRFM and l RAY thirteen

sixty am in Spanish. Provident Swedish pre match show starts at five pm Sounder's habit top of the box with Roznak, they had a chance to break in transition, weren't able to get the ball out from nder their feet as Montreal now sit back ten men behind the ball, so they continue to try and absorb Sounders pressure that sounds to be dominant in this second half. Sixteen shots, seven shots on target. Two goals in this second half to add to

Rudy as his two goals in the first half. As they lead. Here four goals and n Ill ball down the line towards the end line Christon all Dan strikes it towards the top of the box gets cut out. It was Roznack waiting for it. Slice clearance by Montreal finds the foot of Cody Baker far side the left. Here comes the Sounders again. JP Black boots, Black gloves Marshal in the center of the park and he's returned to the Sounders team. We mentioned it. Steve Brian just let the team just play out,

made his three changes. Now it's about seeing this game out. Don't get any silly yellow cards, don't get any silly red cards, and keep a clean sheet. Keep a clean shit. Yeah, keep a clean sheet. You definitely want to get that, so all the little things, not a little sloppy passed at the back, getting a bit complacent. We've seen Yemark give a small one away. We've seen Cody Baker as well. It can happen. Listen, you're humans and your complacent, your PHONEO up.

It can creep in the challenges, the habits. Can you still maintain a high level? Can you play as if it's still nil nil? And I think that's what the Sounders are trying to do right now. But all across the board, you've had a lot of eight, nine, ten out of ten performances today and when you do that, this team is very, very hard to be. It's why it's so hard to watch them struggle through the loose on the season. Yes there's been injuries, Yes there's been players missing,

but the potential indus so high. That's why they were rank so high in the Priests and Poles and no team lex coming to Newmanfielder looks forward to it because it's a tough place to play, especially when the Sounders are firing and all cerators as they have done for most of tonight. Well, certainly it feels like the Sounders are getting close to their strongest lineup, Pedro de la Vaga, of course still a few weeks out. Red Baker Whiting had

a really good end to his twenty twenty three campaign. We'll see what his outlook looks like. Knew who going off injured in the first half. Could he Baker stepping in so far doing a really nice job on that left hand side Like for like switch as Vargas gets pulled back by Zahir three, a free kick for the Sounders. One more change. Christian Oldan comes off,

Dylan Tevez comes on. It was his combination the eighteen yard box last week against El Galaxy, and his ball found Jordan Morris six or seven yards out. He just missed the target. TeV has looked lively in pre He's the top goalscorer in preseason for the Sounders. He gets his chance now, but just a few minutes left of regular time. As we inch towards the nineteen minute mark. Eighty eight minutes gone, GP collects the ball center of the

park, challenge by one. Yama switched the ball to gam up to Alex Roldon, goalscorer the Sounders fourth goal to the foot of Vargas, and see if it's gonna be pretty obvious where players are gonna play set potentially for the center of the park where GP comes back, obviously Tantio comes off. It's gonna be Vargas and JP. Now, yeah, it's gonna be a challenge between the Tensio. Yeah, it's a battle we saw last season branch Mets.

He's sort of you know, for home games with favor Fargas and then for away games where maybe he's a bit more physical, bit less of the ball. He went for potentials, physical presence. But he told us, no, they both want to play. Those who compete. They go at it in training. They don't want to be typecast into far plays in the more pretty beautiful games and intentionals the brute force. No, they want to play all the games, so competition for places. It's one of the top

teams have. So you do love to see him Burgos long ah, Right, I got cushion headed back to JP. So did you read anything into it to change they'll keep Vargas out there alongside JP. Is it to test those two together or is it just to give attention alone? I think it was gone, I mean entensial today he got over ninety touches on the board, was all over the pitch, all over the game. You know, Vargas is the bat seventy five and it's not all about touches, but it

shows you the involvement. It shows you how much the game is running for a certain players and think potential just and they have all the DAYTA and stats out there on the iPads on the bench, so they have seen that two Borgos through the top. It's massovskiing in on gone cold. He had choice tally good defending. I think it was Corbo that came across. It's gonna

be a corner kick for the Sounders. There's a chance one or more Massofsky, but really good defending by the Montreal back line to come across make the block cornerkick Sounders remains sound for Montreal nil. Yeah, it's a good recovery in the end, because you know, if Maslosi tastes cleaner first tart, she potentially can play in Rudias and different first time. She can even take the finish for himself. In the end, it was a little bit too

heavy, but give credit to Montreal. It did get back very very quickly. May have been a price for it. But the sound is very close to adding a fifth ball to their tally tonight. But we saw the replay on the screen here in a booth, and everybody has kind of walked away, just puffed his cheeks out. He was hoping for that square ball, yeah, for his hat. I think Raoul was hoping Mosask would look across and just roll an easy one to him there. It didn't quite happen that

way. Well, they had to match the stoppish time for the first half. Seven in the first half, six additional minutes here in the second half. As the ball gets whipped in, Lesarski knocks it up in the air and sometimes Steve I do scratch my head. The referee's four nil Montreal. I'm gonna fly all the way back to these coast. Why I think gonna keep mouth another six minutes. I don't think anyone would complain if you didn't keep the true injury time or the true at the time that you should keep.

I think what have been okay, Brenda whistle then the sounds branch myself. He's got what he wanted to get out of this game. He still went to see Montreal definitely seen enough. Everyone's ready to go home, but a few minutes to play Sounders signing from their back line cheap giveaway against by Jamar. Again, that's twice in the space of a handful of minutes, Sounder's back line giving away a couple of sloppy balls and these final minutes of

the game, the need to tighten things up. Christian Roldan talked about the unprofessional nature of their defending over the first five games of the season. And there's a yellow card from Montreal and it's an SGB yellow card. When a foul is called, SGB trial lures are here to help visit SGB dash law dot come well. SGB laws had a number of call outs today. It's

been littered with yellow cards from Montreal to of course going to Saliba. And he got early marching orders early Beth in this second half and made the ninth for the sound as that much more comfortable. As the ball gets zipped into Alex Roldan, who for whatever reason whips it across to the top of the

eighteen yard box. Orioga comes across and see that's a head scratcher, Like you've got to experience player that Alex Roldan, who tries to play the ball with his weaker left foot, switch the point of attack and just gives the ball away. And that's what you have to go on against. And I think Branch means if I'm him after this game, I'm saying, look, great job all around, but you want to cut those small little things out

because those things proof through the team. It's the man, then it's Alex row Dan and it's Pony Baker. So just tun the little stuffy mistakes. Maintain high standards always, as Misovski forces another, well there's another SGB yellow card. When a foul is called, SGB trial are here to help visit SGB dash law dot com. They've been busy today, you know, the refuge. We've got to say that the referees coming back. It's great news

for the league. We're all happy that whatever they needed got sorted. They deserve to be compensated appropriately. It's not an easy job. Think the replacement rest in a prettydamn good job too. They did that role. Then listen, we'll complain. You want not every sport. This has just we made a different way. It is a very very difficult, thankless job. And

yeah, you've got to give them credit. Absolutely bare wit ten towards the back post, headed clear flight goes up by the assistant referee, nothing given by the center official. Philip a Sea war in the Montreal goal just dribbles it back into his eighteen yard box, picks it up. Sounders drop off where ods putting a little bit of pressure, still looking for his hat trick.

As we watched the rolling clock, the sounders pick it up. She'd give away by Montreal Borgo square to Roznak top of the d to JP to Ruin It at top of the box, trying to find a space to shoot, blocked out by combination of one Yama toy. As the ball gets shifted out by Ibrahim, we'll see who's out injured. The fast size at Ruin, Yes, it is on the deck once. You're certainly look fearful of building out the back steve. They've given her away a couple of times.

The goalkeeper gets involved as well. I think the blueprint for what they wanted to do was that first fifteen minutes. They wanted to come out here. They wanted to play on the front foot and be brave, so to speak, attack with the fullbacks. Not be a back five, you more of a bat three but it was since that Rudi as Bold where the sounders then went up another level, that they weren't able to stick with the sounders. And in the end, everything that could go wrong has the red coals and

there in the coffin for this Montreal team. And if you're the sounds on the flips branch, Mental, it's the exact game you needed a game. Will you just come out at home, getting fans back on your side, get an energy back in the building, get important players major minutes, get key injured players back onto the pitch. Raul sport a couple Jordan's scored, Albert was involved in, a couple of goals. Couldn't ask for a bad evening. Sound has come again, right from the sound of bench, little

back heel by Alex Roldan finds the foot of Tether. It's gonna drive forward towards the end like wings across the six, too close to the goalkeep easily collected by Sewara. It falls down he as much as anybody as Montreal down four goals snill here as we get into the final minute of added time, the rain has subsided. Montreal have to get on a plane tonight, head

back east. So they get ready for Cincinnati for their first home game of the season, and Dallas is the next team up for the Sounders as they get back on the road, go play down in Texas. Dallas got off to a pretty slow start as well this season. Vancouver is sitting on top of the West Coast standings thirteen points, four wins, one lost, one toy Sounders. With this victory, you're gonna drag themselves off the foot of

the Western Conference table. The leap frog there oppoted next week Dallas and now they will sit in twelve place, one spot below Portland. So the ball goes into tennis. He gonna get gents is dn tais slide past, see one, enter the corner and that's that Sherry on top of the Sounders cake. Its Sounders five Montreal Neil and you've gotta be really really happy for dinner taveras there well ends up just finding him inside the box Montreal. They're all

over the place defensively there. Yes, it's definitely on side. What's seen a replay here? And this is a kid who scored so many goals in college, so many goals, so he knows what a back of the net is and That's a clever little finish there, and it really is the cherry on top of this fantastic, fantastic performance by the Sounders. Five note and with the last kick of the game, Dylan Tavers gets his goal for the Sounders. Two goals, I believe, one against Toronto and now against another

Canadian team in Montreal. Sounders dominant today. As you hear the cheers booming around looming field, They've been waiting for this type of game, waiting for this type of result. It was Ruy Diaz in the twentieth minute who got the game going with the left footed shot that looped over Seawar in the Montreal goal. There was a penalty in the twenty seventh minute. Jordan Morris got his season going in the forty eighth minute, Alex rolled down slid the ball

into an empty net. In the eighty first and then with the last kick of the game, Dylan Tevis rounded it all off and got the Sounder's fifth goal in the night. Stave your final thoughts, Yeah, I think the scoreline says it all. You know, five nil, and you look at who got the balls, how the balls came a coup of thrown Jordan gets one Albert was involved. You can get a note, a nice one from

Dylan tevers there. So everything kind of went well for the Sounders. But what I was pleased with was that Free Nail and Monchau went down to ten men. The Sounders never let the foot off the pedal, never stepped off the guys. They kept going, kept going, kept going, and in the end got their rewards. And these fans deserved that they deserved at night when they could cheer and really get behind their team something to cheer about. It has been a tough season, but it's a kind of wind that could

spur a momento spur run. We've seen it before and you've got hope that's the case. But for tonight at least we can enjoy it well deserved, fantastic victory. I told my mom, who's visiting me for a trip, her first Sounders game for a long time. He said, you're gonna be a good luck chop and she is. Well for the Sounders, it was much better, much more like what we're used to seeing over the years.

And the Sounders make a statement back in MLS getting five goals on the board, and I'm sure Jackson Felts and Marcus Hanneman will have plenty to talk about as they come back after our break to break it all down. Well, thanks for everyone involved in today's broadcast, Terry Ryan and Keeley Dunning here in the booth, Kevin Kay as it always for his great information, and of course the sounders legend Steve zach Kuani. Sounders FC Soccer is brought to you by Providence, Swedish, official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders FC Postmat Show starts no post goals of any team in MLS this season more than doubles your season total in goals and most importantly, the first win of twenty

twenty four. What a night for your Seattle Sounders, Harrol Luminfield. The temperature inside the building was cold, but boy, the soccer on the pitch was hot. Five nothing final, Montreal loosing tonight, your Sounders picking up the w What a win. Welcome into the postmatch show, Jackson Feltz and Marcus Hannaman here celebratory. Marcus, what a game? I mean? I swear I was telling people before the game. You know, I think we can come out of here. You know, if we find that ball one,

nothing's there for us? Five nothing. My god, Marcus, Well it does. The sending off does change the game. But the Sounders were looking good tonight, and you know what I really like to see is they kept the pressure on right Sounders of old, maybe you know they would have been like, hey, let's conserve, let's go back, and they kept attacking, and you know, to get five goals at home in front of your crowd, your home crowd, right, is just awesome. Right.

It's people want to come back. They've had a great time, and your bottom line is you're entertaining out here and you want these people to come back. I mean, dude, it felt like they were trying to make a statement because after they had taken the three nothing lead, I mean, we're into at that point, we're talking about the mid seventy minutes. You know, you get the triple sub where Joal Paulo, Javier Ariyaga, Danny Mazowski they all come on. It's sort of starting to feel like, Okay,

you know, we got the three nothing to win. Montreal clearly is doing absolutely nothing. They're down and man, we got this wrapped up. But it they You're right, they kept pushing, they kept the pressure on. It looked I mean, roll Redez was as hungry for that third goal as I've ever seen from any player. He wanted that third more than anything. I mean, the hunger was there to make it four or five nothing. It was. It was a statement tonight, for sure. You could see

that frustration. And you know, ruy Diez does want to shoot from everywhere, and he should have passed at least one of those because he he's falling away and he's still having a slash at it. And but that's what we love about him, right, he wants to score goals and he's hungry, right, and and looking at that right you think, okay, he's just coming back injury, not the greatest start that he wants to have. And now all of a sudden he's like, yes, I want to keep scoring

and keep getting balls in the box. And that's just the hunger and that desire that you want to see. Yeah, very much. So it's obviously no spoiler Tonight's Toyota the man in matches, obviously with the brace where all Ruy Diaz your logo. Toyot Dealers are proud to present tonight's man of the match. Also with Dylan Teva's goal following the eighty eighth minute of tonight's match. Sharp Vision Modern Lesgan Wins is providing free lask surgery to one lucky fan.

For more details on how you can injure to win, visit soundersfc dot com slash laser focus. I mean Dylan TeVeS rounding off and it was the continued pressure and I mean, what a moment for a young kid in Dylan Teva is to you know, work hard, work hard, try to get his way into the lineup and then gets his you know, gets a break to be able to get some minutes in this game. And reward gives is rewards Brian Spencer with the fifth goal. It's great for Dylan, it's great

for the team overall. Yeah, just awesome. And we have you know, we were talking about, Okay, we've got the veteran players, right, Ruy Diaz steps up, Jordan Morris step up, Rusnak two assist, and then you've got young players popping up and getting a great goal. You could see what it meant to him, you know, at the end, and and and that's what this is about, right, And for these young kids to be able to contribute, right, that's just gonna give him so

much confidence. And uh and then for the kids who didn't get a chance to play, seeing that what's possible, right, and you're giving your hope right Yeah. Man, if I get it, I'm gonna I want to I want to taste of that too. I want that moment. And Dylan Tevis gets the moment tonight. What a game for everybody out there. America, discusses measuring audio. The measurement capability with an audio I think surprised all of us, but all of it's been extremely helpful and we have seen a huge return on our investment. The methodology by which we're approaching audio and then seeing the real results with real numbers has helped us continue to invest moving forward. One of the things that's been really important for us is to see the extension of reach to the new audience that we could not really speak to

producer ANDREWS. Hirst. I had forgotten, Marcus that we've played taking care of business after wins. It's been so long that I actually forgot. But God, that's great to hear Sounders taking care of business tonight at Lumenfield five to nothing over Montreal. You get five goals, two from Rawle, Jordan Morris, alx ruld On Dylan Tevez in the ninety seventh minutes and the Sounders walk away with a five nothing win. And they get the clean sheet too.

What a game here at Loominfield. It's time for our Emerald Queen Casino Play of the match we're going to the game winning goal. We're going to the first goal. What an individual effort from ral Ruedi has here. Rusneck whips it towards that far post. Jackson Waken goes up, knocks it down to yes straight sat what just one the sound is needed? It is who gets the sounds on the belt? It sound as one montre Old nail.

It's an Albert Russneck free kick. You go to the far posts to Jackson Reagan who heads it back to roll Ruediaz who has an absurd strike into the other side of the net for the Sounders one nothing win. He gets a second goal, Sounders win, five nothing to play. The match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. Marcus. That goal, I mean you you drew it up in pre game. That was as bad. Is exactly what you could have dreamed of from our number nine.

Yeah, you know, when you're talking about what's gonna happen before the game, you know the Sounders, you know, did what they needed to do and you know, a perfect crossball, nice and deep. Jackson Reagan doesn't try to do anything silly with it. He just goes I know I'm gonna have Ruy Diez behind me. I'm just gonna knock it back. And what a finish, one touch finish. It was perfect, perfect, indeed, I mean overall this whole game, it's it's hard to find one wrong

step. The one unfortunate thing, in case you missed it, it was a very long time ago. The one real kind of concerning thing was in the eighth minute, knew who the injury. It's a left thigh injury. Officially known. Word on his severity that'll come from Brian Schmitzer probably in about fifteen twenty minutes at his postgame press conference that can be found on the Sounders YouTube page on the website soundersfc dot com. You'll be able to hear Brian

Schmitzer about the severity of knew who's injury, but hope he's okay. Saw great things from Cody Baker. But other than that, really a perfect day for the Sounders. I'll tell you. Delta Airlines is propuct to donate one soccer ball for every mile ran by Sounders EPSI players this season the Ray Foundation's One Mile, One Ball program. But let's take a couple of minutes here

before we wrap up tonight's and talk about what's next for the Sounders. Is going to be a week from tonight down at Frisco, Texas Toyota Stadium, as the Sounders are going to be facing FC Dallas. Providence Swedish premach show will begin at five o'clock, kickoff at five thirty and we are on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM. We're headed to the FM dial for

next Saturdays Sounders Dallas match. So normally when you listen to Sounders Weekly Wednesday's eight pm, you have to switch over to nine to fifty for the game. Nope, next week, next Saturday, five o'clock Providence Swedish prematch Show ninety three point three kjr FM. Also watch the match via MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, or listen in Spanish language on l Ray thirteen sixty and Marcus, we got to see ju Alpola back on the field.

That was fantastic. I'm not sure if he's going to be able to start in that game against Dallas, but really, you know, whether knew who's out or not, that's a straight swap for Cody Baker. This team can get stronger with JP on the field. We saw the confidence that this team has. Now FC Dallas is reeling, they're injured, they're near the bottom of the table. This should be a confident Sounder team going to Dallas next

week. Yeah, one hundred percent. But if you've got to injured Dallas team, they're going to be, you know, wanting to fight like the Sounders did tonight. And you know, it was a near perfect performance tonight. And Stephan Fry though, I do want to point out, kept this team with a clean sheet because he had the Montreal should have scored at two zero, two to one. It's a different game, changes everything, So it was a great say from Stephen Fry. Just want to point that out.

And yeah, the Sounders now have to take this momentum and go down to Dallas and try to get a result and just work their selves back up the table, because that's what this is about, right, It's not about how you start, it's how you keep growing and getting better throughout the season. Yeah, exactly, And hopefully news okay, and we can talk about this team just getting healthier and healthier, not an additional injury. More on that to come, but yeah, as you mentioned, the great safe from

Stephen Fryan thirty eighth minutes. What a game from everybody on this field. Five nothing. And you'll be interesting to be out of long Acres throughout the week and just kind of feel the confidence of the guys and talk to them and hear how they're talking, and hear how they're just watch how they're behaving, because it feels like a team that's gonna be just riding high for the next six days and hopefully that continues to build for the game against Dallas next

Chris Brand, Chief marketing Officer Chipotin Mexican Grill weighs in on the power of audio, specifically audio influencers. Audio has been a key component

for us. Our consumer is omnichannel, so we need to be omnichannel. We've used audio to reinforce what we're showing on TV, what we're showing in other digital channels. When your priority is driving reach boy, everybody seems to listen to the radio. I think using the audio influencers has been a huge

component for us. Working with iHeart, we were able to really tease out the audio influencers in key markets that were authentic Chipotle fans, and because it's authentic and because they're seen as trusted friends by the customers and the listeners, it's really been an effective strategy.
