Welcome to the Sounders FC postmat Show. Sounders FC Sucker is brought to you by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders FC Postmat Show starts now. Smiles all around, and this beautiful evening here in Seattle is the Sounders win. They didn't even have to come back to do it. They got it to nothing tonight over the New England Revolution. That

is how this match ends. Goals in the fifteenth minute by Jordan Morris, the eighty second minute in the run of play by Albert Rusnik as predicted actually predicted by Chance Frye. Here as we welcome you into the postmatch show, Jackson Felt, Chance and Kellen Row for the next half hour breaking down and celebrating a Sounders win tonight here at Luminfield. They've now won four straight home

matches. That's something we haven't done in four years. We have thirteen points in the last five games and up to sixth place in the Western Conference, just three points out of fourth place. Again, a very very good night here at Loomenfield, so welcome in. We had lots to talk about, but first chance, Kellen, let's just get the overall initial reaction to what was a good performance and a win tonight, well, as we were talking about in the hallway there, it was the first game that we've had.

It was kind of comfortable. There were some moments though in the end of the first half where New England was coming in and Stephan had to make two great saves. But second half we pretty much took over. I think it was a good sub. We started getting well, whether it was the sub or whether we just started playing that way. We were getting down the left hand side, getting some joy there and everything. So the team played well.

We kept the ball, we made New England work to get it back and it was a good second half and then polished off with a goal by Ruzenek, which was great. That was awesome, and day la Vega came in and sparked I wouldn't now have sparked it, but he played solid. Talks about it a chance, the fact that we started off strong. I think our goal is in the fifteenth or sixteenth minute. That's something we needed to do because, like we said in the pregame, New England's traveling across

the country. They played on a Wednesday night in an emotional game last minute and now you're going through and that second half, there is a lot of tired legs. You know, they were chasing around. They were sitting back, but they were having to chase and chase and chase because you know, credit to Seattle, they had a lot of possession and they continued that in the second half. And when they did have those runs off the ball like we saw in that second half, when you're facing your own goal, it's

demoralizing. It's almost like Brian Spencer heard our halftime show and then said, I mean it actually, I mean joking aside, that's what we talked about. We talked about the tired legs they played on Wednesday against Atlanta. A lot of these guys had to go again and again because I mean the injury

report for New England had ten players on it. They got some back tonight, but there's so many tired legs on that Revolution team and the Sounders just took it to them and just own the possession and just wore them out and they were done in the second and a half where it really could have been more. But and as to nothing really quickly. Tonight's Toyota, the man of the match is Albert Rusnak with a goal and an assist. Your all

the Toyota Doers are proud to present tonight's man of the match. And you know, Albert's a guy where statistically and I love the numbers, fourteen goal contributions, goals and assists in twenty games this year. He has nine of those fourteen in the last seven games. He's on an absolute heater right now. Yeah, no, he's playing great. But the one thing that I was really impressed with in the second half was the way we moved the ball.

But it was the movement off the ball and there was lots of interchanges and lots of nice Chris passes and that's what just killed off New England. I mean it just ran them into the ground and they were done. But it was very impressive ball movement and man movement by the Sounders in the second half. When Albert came into the team, he was unselfish. You know, he's obviously been a ten for most of his career. He was a very quality ten when he was at Salt Lake and that's what we brought him

in. And when you have a guy like Albert and Nico and now Juau is where as well. That's an amazing midfield. But who's gonna be the other sitter with Duau? And Albert put his hand up and said I'll do it, and he did it very well. Now that he's getting the chance to have his freedom back, have that number ten level b that playmaker like he is and kind of roam to find the space. It took him a little bit, but now you're seeing it those last night games. Are you

kidding me? With the amount of contributions, The quality passes like Chance said, the ability to know where his players want the ball. Jordan doesn't want that ball to his feet. He wants ten yards in front of him so he can make the run. Yeah, and with a little bit of selfishness, he had a couple of other opportunities away. He could have pulled the trigger too, but he made a nice little flick. It didn't come off, but a little bit more. You know, Hey, I'm gonna take

this shot, but he could have had another one. Is this absolutely right? And Kelln you talk about the guys that are gonna play a holy you pointed out off the air Christian to night played just simply it right back and then next to obed in the midfield and or and then Josh for Christian not even getting a sniff of the wing tonight is I'm not sure the last time we saw that, but we did see him making a lot of runs and roaming around and having kind of that free range that he does when he's playing

at the right back spot. Well, and you say, simply doing just right back in center, Man, it's one of the hardest things to do because on this outside you have one guy to be and one guy to defend. Really in the middle, all of a sudden, everyone is around you. You have zero time, zero space, and you have to know where everything is. And so it's a mental change that you have to have. And he's obviously a mister reliable right and has been, you know, almost

a mister sounder for a self time, right. But he's he's been incredible. He obviously knows the game very well, and he I would go as far as saying he's the on field leader when step and Fry has not heard maybe from the forwards or anything of that sort. You you follow Christian Rodends, his work rate, his knowledge, his voice, he's so selfless.

I mean, he plays absolutely everywhere, and I mean it's it's sort of is like, you know, I would love in an honest moment, You're like Christian, you wish you just had you know, one lockdown spawn. But the ability of him to play you know, five different positions has helped him so much. And you clearly tonight just that utility to be able to fill in all these different spots helps the team do a to to nothing to

win. Yeah, I've I've said many times to people that I think right after Stephan's name on this on the on the lineup sheet, Brian writes down Christian's name and it doesn't really matter where it's at. He can fill into a lot of different places. It was really nice to see Alex get on

the field. He looked confident. I thought he played really well. And then Christian, you know, sitting in the midfield, got some more touches in different areas, which I think that he looked like he was enjoying himself. He was really moving around. He did have a couple of missed controls a couple of times that you pointed out. And that's what I'm leading to next, is that you know we're loving this win. We say it's almost

comfortable, right because it's almost comfortable because it wasn't a full ninety. We had a lot of mistakes. We had a lot of slip ups, especially towards the end. We had a lot of times where it thank you Stephanie, thank you Sevan Dry for coming up big in a few saves. But it's it's not complete yet. It's like we talked about it being the mental thing, because you have to have the quality, you have to have the simple passes of the awareness. And I know from Christian that's not going from

right back in the center. Man. He was. He was a little bit tired. He's just he turned off for a second. And it happens to everyone, even he didn't, you know, mister reliable. So you have to have guys back them up, and we did tonight. He's so selfless and such a team player filled in great tonight. And you know you mentioned this Stephen Fry and the double save in the thirty fifth minute brings up a great question over what the Emerald Queen Casino play of the matches. We'll

have to decide that next on the postmatch show. celebratory postmatch show two nothing over New England. More next on ninety three points three KJRFM. Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM. That's right taking care of business because the Sounders who took care of business tonight here at Luminfield fourth straight home win. It picked up

tonight to nothing over New England. Revolution. Welcome back in to the post match show Jackson, Folks, Chance, Frive, Kellen Row here as we celebrate the Sounders win tonight that moves them into sixth place in the Western Conference. Real Quick Delta Airlines is proud to do only one soccer ball for every mile ran by Sounders FC players this season through Ray Foundations One Mile, one

Ball program. All right, it's time to actually have a debate. I love when we can actually have a full on back forth debate over the Emerald Queen Casino Play of the match. So there's three plays that stand out to me, and I think we've already narrowed it down to two. Obviously, it's the goals fifteenth minute Jordan Morris. The one that is is a clearance to Leo Chew, he heads it to Morris, Morris lays it off to Albert Rusnak, plays a through ball, Morris fights off, Dave Romney scores

it. You have the eighty second minute goal from Rusnak where he picks it up with some space, dribbles it outside the box probably from about twenty twenty two yards out, hits a nice long goal. And then also Stephan Fry a double save where the second save was a kick safe in the thirty fifth minute. So chance, Kellum chance, I'll let you be the first to debate and give your opening nod for what should be the play of the match

tonight. So all three of them are great, all three important. I'm going to give my nod to Jordan's first goal, the first goal for the team. It was a great team goal, but at the end of it, to hold the defender off, to actually toss him almost to the ground and then finish top corner. He made it look a little bit easier than it was. It was a difficult goal and that put us up one nothing, which was great and so would I would choose that as the play of

the match. Well, it also shows the quality right of the two players that are hottest right now in Albert Rusnak with the ball through and Jordan Morris who's on the run right now of scoring goals and goals like that. That reminded me of the Saint Louis goal that they scored when Rail laid it off to Albert and Albert played Jordan through. But I'm gonna get my nod to the double save for the reasons that look at the time timing of it, it's still in the first half. They were kind of on top of us

for a few minutes there. It's a little too easy to run through the first save, the second save being a kick save. But that's gonna give something like that a goal right before half, tied one to one. That gives life to a team coming across the country that is tired legs and now that they don't have that goal, and that was their one chance, and

they knew that that was their one chance. Their heads are down, they're now more tired because it's mentally, you know, strenuous to continue to defend and defend and defend, and when you missed that one chance twice, it's just not going your way this night. So you think it's interesting because I was then, so you just said that I was kind of leaning one way.

So do you get the feeling as a player you can you can speak to this where if you see a keeper in the in thirty fifth minutes, so we're still, you know, third of the way into this match, make make a moment like that, you're kind of just you know, heads down. It's sort of like, all right, you know this, this is gonna be an uphill battle today. You're feeling that in that moment,

you already felt the uphill battle again. You're tired legs. You can't understand how hard it is to do that, that travel after that many games. Yeah, and then to come play in a place like Seattle. That's not an easy thing to do. And I don't think anyone in the league wants to do it. But when you have that mentality of we have a one or two chances because we are sitting back. We are countering here if you're gonna have that one or two chances, and we miss them both in the

first half, and it's because of good saves. It's because of good plays. You're like, what's it gonna take. Yeah. In addition to that, it fires up especially Stephan and Is back forth because they're like a little unit. They're like a gang, right, and they get super you know,

stoked whenever he makes a big save like that. So that just helps everybody else keep going for their half at least, you know, I think the thing for me, if I'm going to to break this tie, I think I go to the key to the game that we talked about at the start of the end of the pre match show, and the big key was

hit him early. You gotta start fast, because at the end of the day, this is a team that has gotten comeback win after comeback win, but we hadn't seen them leading a match early and just kind of take grasp and unlike Kansas City, you know, take grasps them and hold on to

it for an extended twenty minute spell. And that's what the Jordan Morris goal in the fifteenth minute did, I think, is it is it kind of just set the tone early of we're tired of having to come back on teams, We're tired of having to you know, just you know, make a big run in the second half. Let's just put them behind the eight ball

early. They've played three, you know, third game this week. Let's just get them and to get that all initially and then chance, I think you mentioned the team element of it, where it's it's Leo Chew and Albert Rusnak combineding there and the fight from Jordan and then the finish was great. It's it's about fifty one to forty nine. It's as close as you can get as we can find here on p play of the match. But we're gonna go with Jordan Morris's goal. Anders if you have it dialed up.

Danny Jackson Steve Zachawani on the call for Jordan Morris opening the game by on the right hand side, tries to shift it towards the pe case spot cleared by Jackson. Reigan Chu just flicks it up into the end to Jordan Morris. Able to knock it back now he runs through, he's got the legs on Norman. Can you push it forward into the eighteen yard bucks. Jordans

fantastic finish. He was all about parts again into the eighteen yard bucks and then he finessed the shot into the roof for the net to put the sound As up one goal to nail, and the play of the matches was entered by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. Great plays to night, big moments for the Sounders, but Jordan Morris's goal there what a start for the Sounders where they eventually get a two to nothing win tonight over

New England. Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC SO. Now, the New England had a busy week. Now the Sounders have a busy week. We'll talk about what's ahead. It is two matches in the next seven days. We'll go over what the Sounders have their travel schedule ahead as well as the big chance to host a semi final. We'll tell you about it next on Sports Radio ninety three point three

KJRFM. Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM. the Sounders win tonight. Goals from Jordan Morrison the fifteenth Albert rus neck in the eighty second. We mentioned this before, but Albert Rusnak, you're man of the match. He now has fourteen goal contributions, four goals, ten assists here on the season. Nine of those have happened in the last seven games. He is on a run right now. Time to take a look ahead at what's next for your Sounders. It's a busy week. They play on Tuesday and they play on Saturday. Saturday. Really quick is the next

MLS action. It's gonna be a match down in Austin, Texas. We're gonna have a pre match show of five o'clock kick up at five thirty Right here, ninety three point three KJRFM for Sounders and Austin FC. So that's going on next Saturday, a week from tonight. But the Sounders also play on Tuesday in Sacramento in the US Open Cup. We're gonna have that broadcast over on nine to fifty kJ am on Tuesday. A little bit different. I know a lot you probably used to week days where it's pregame at seven,

kickoff at seven thirty. It's actually gonna be pushed back in another half hour, so pregame is at seven point thirty, kickoff at eight o'clock for this Open Cup quarterfinal against Sacramento Republic. You can also watch the match MLS Season Pass on Apple TV app. I believe has it Open Cup Action and again we will be nine to fifty k am seven to thirty pre game for Sounders in Sacramento. And as we look ahead to this match, guys chance

for I Callen row Jackson Feltz here. I think the interesting question is listen, it's Open Cup where we've seen a lot of rotation, but it's a quarterfinal and if the Sounders went through, they would then host the semifinal the winner of LAFC and I believe I'm not sure who lafc's New Mexico. That's who they're playing. So the Sounders have a chance to host a semifinal of

the US Open Cup against one of those two teams. I'm thinking, Chance Kellen, that you got to invest a lot in this game to secure that semi final berth and make sure you have a lot of top you know, senior level, main first team guys starting and giving big minutes in that game Tuesday. Look, I think you have to be smart as well. That's the thing is you want to you want to throw everything at this game,

and I think they are. They're going to have a very veteran squad, but a mixed veteran squad as well, because you still need that youth. You still need to give guys minutes. You still need to give some guys a rest when it comes to these MLS games. Because we've seen the Open Cup bump a few times this year already. You want to continue that. So you want to make sure you have the positives, especially going you know, four games now at home wins, having a good stretch through June and

July. Can you continue it in the MLS season as well. You don't want to drop off that either. I would totally agree. You know, that's why Brian is called the manager because he's going to manage the team and he's going to change up the lineup and he's That's one of the things that Schmeet's is really good at, is whether it's being forced into it because of injury. He is very good at manipulating the lineup and getting the most out

of his out of his squad. It's a great point because you look at tonight, I mean, Alex Roldn limited minutes, you'd think he I mean, he's played it. He's started an Open Cup this year, so you know Alex Rouldn being there. You know, you look at the halftime sub today of Leo Chew coming off, read Baker Whiting coming on. You know, so I when I when I said, like, you know, first team players, I think about those kind of guys. You know, Raul Ruda is also you know, I would think, is that maybe a canon?

Just start it forward? Right? Jordan went the full ninety tonight, So you wouldn't think Jordan could start on Tuesday, right, We've seen, you know, things happen before. But like you know, I guess my thought would be, you know, you're starting very quality players who have played key minutes in MLS action. Uh it, you know the the Georgie Manoton goot, you know those kind of Tacoma players who have played big minutes. You're Kolani Coza, Rienzi who had that huge moment in the Phoenix game.

You know, this this game, I feel like may see a lot more of the names of Alex and of Leo, and you know that kind of regard is is sort of what it was, kind of leading towards absolutely, but you know, you have to sprinkle in those guys that are gonna be hungry game changers that could be in the in the in the end of the games and Orgy. I'm thinking, yeah, Georgie, but I'm thinking Dylan Tevis yep, I'm thinking Josh Atensio. You gonna get a lot of minutes

there. And I wouldn't mind seeing an Albert Rusnak Jordan Morris in the bench on the bench ready to come in, because they can again be game changers, but they're also smart. Let's say we're up one zero and we need to you know, waste some time. Throw Jordan up top and let them run around. I mean, that's that's a that's a breakaway finish waiting to happen, or or at least of the work rate and quality of a forward

like Jordan. Yeah, I totally agree. And if you're looking down at tonight's substitutes, most of these guys can start for a lot of MS teams. I mean, that's a quality bench. I mean, so I don't think you can look at players like, you know, you're just a starter, you're just a bench player. I mean you have to be throughout a whole season. Sometimes you have to be a little bit of both. Well, here's the final thing I'll note on that Sacramento weather for Tuesdays scheduled that

ninety six degrees on the field. You know, I don't know if Sacramento has grass or a bay of turf, but it's going to be ridiculously hot down there. So maybe the kickoff time pushed back a little bit. So don't worry about the weather. But it's gonna be a real, real hot one. You're playing summer in the MLS, you know, you know how it is. It was a hot one here tonight. We've done Houston, We've done Dallas, we've done Orlando's it's an unfortunate thing that's gonna happen.

Hell, we're going to go to Austin next weekend. That's not gonna be a fun one. And it's it's just it's the nature of the battle, and you got to play through it. And there's gonna be you know, water breaks. Make sure you're hydrated. There's gonna be guys on the bench that are hungry to go, so when you can, when you can't go anymore. And those legs are jello get off. Same number for Austin, ninety six degrees on Saturday. And we played l Pass a long time ago,

before even they scheduled the game at two o'clock in the afternoon. Grew the grass long, they even told us, so we wanted to slow us down. It was awful. Did you win? We lost d a miskick over Marcus's head. It was literally a crashot. We just saw Marcus. We should have talked about it. I honestly, I think it might have been in Nashville three o'clock. It was my first It was the first game

of the Gold Cup. I was the fittest I've ever been. I was cramped up in sixty two minutes like full full body cramp and I was like, I can't do this. I walked. I walked into an oven, but it was like broil oven. It was horrible. Well, we'll see what it looks like on Tuesday Sacramento, then Saturday in Austin. Scorching temperatures for all three games in this eight day stretch, but the Sounders started off good at two nothing win tonight over New England, fourth straight home win.

Now thirteen points in the last five games. They're up to six place in the Western Conference, just three points off of fourth place Colorado. One thing, everybody with the broadcast tonight. Anders Hurst, ar technical director. Back in the studio, Terry Ryan, our engineer here on site, our broadcast producer, Keheley Dunning. Great call tonight from Danny Jackson and Steve Zachawani,

And of course want to thank Kellan Rowe and Chance for I Chance. I know you have a birthday shout out by the way, Yeah, I want to give my two nephews, Matt carl A shout out their birthdays today. Happy birthday boys. And I have to say happy birthday, early birthday to my mom who I guess she's right back out their Happy birthday, Mom. She got to be here tonight. It's wonderful when you can share Sounders wins with the family. So a happy birthday to all of our family and hope

you all enjoyed tonight's to Nothing win here at Loumanfield. Thank you to all for listening. We'll talk to you on Tuesday once again, seven thirty pre game nine to fifty kr AM for Sounders and Sacramento in the Open Cup. We'll talk to you then. Have a good rest of your weekend. Everybody,
