Welcome to the Sounders FC postmat Show. Sounders FC Sucker is brought to you by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders FC postmatt Show starts now. It's the final from Sandy Utah in America. First field Real Salt Lake two and your Sounders nothing and for Salt Lake it's goals in the twenty seventh minute and the fifty eighth minute to Carlos Andres Gomez and

Diego Luna get the goals for the host tonight. As a Seattle going in with a very rotated squad, as we pointed out in pregame, RSL definitely did not rotate much, including Chicho Orongo, Diego Luna, Andres Gomez, all of them their normal attacking starters they started and starred in this game. As RSL get the two nothing win. Jackson Fellas and Marcus Hannaman back here in the Seattle studios will we joined on site in Sandy Utah from Diego Ario

here in about ten to fifteen minutes or so. But Marcus, that was you know, it's a tough one for the Seattle Sounders, but it does kind of feel like, you know, you had a rotated squad, they didn't rotate much. You beat Portland on Sunday, you got Vancouver in a big Cascadia Cup match on Saturday. I'm weirdly not too frustrated right now. I mean it is away from home, but I mean, go ahead, I see the phase you're making. Go be honest. Yeah, I just

don't see. Like and I said it before he went on, no one is playing in my position, like, no matter what, Like, I'm gonna play if I can play, I'm playing. So you're telling me that those guys couldn't play. Now you got Christian Rolldan Jordan Morris coming in, and then it's hard to get the flow of the game right, and I just don't get it. You know, it's a little bit frustrating, I

know. You know, you've got these medical professionals, you know, who are now making decisions on who's playing because oh, we need to rest him. JP couldn't go the whole game. So it's a great idea, right, But now then Christian rolldand comes in for him, you know, and JP's arguably our best player, and you know, it just doesn't go our

way. But you know, Danny could have scored made it one one right right after the first goal, a different game, and so you go through these things and there's a lot of positives as well, but ultimately right you're they were had their eyes set on Vancouver, but it seems like you're just going now and just giving a result away. Yeah. And it's funny because in the span of a thirty four game MLS season, it did you know,

h injuring this month? I mean where there's right now, I mean there's eight games in the month of May where you have a Wednesday game every single week from you know, Open Cup, and then we have this, and then we have Open Cup next Wednesday, and then two weeks from today it's Salt Lake on another Wednesday at lumen Field. And there's some moments where you kind of just almost look at the schedule ahead of time and say, all right, well, you can already see fans use the term punting a

game, which obviously is a player side. I imagine it's just an infuriating But from from my soleast, I'm kind of going, all right, well, listen to first place RSL good. It sort of adds up. But I get what you're saying in the sense of, you know, if you're gonna have you Christian rule down play forty five minutes, can you have him play the first forty five minutes? Can you see what this team can do with Christian right off the bat? And we saw him score against Portland right

in the nineteenth minute. Can you see what Christian can give you from the start rather than the finish trying to get into at that point what was a one nothing game. Yeah, but now they're supposed to be limiting JP's minutes to forty five minutes, So now who do you bring in? Right? So they're trying to put some experience with some younger players. They're supposed to

have that kind of that middle going. But it is difficult, right, I mean, you know, and then where do you where do you make a draw the line of where you want to give up points or not? And but it still comes down you know, I played in England a long time and we played Saturday Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday Tuesday all through up to Christmas every week and none of our guys were wanted to sit out. So yeah, so then the question is why why why does that happen

there and not here? Is is it just simply the player quality? Is is it? The is it the staffs? Is it? Is it something? I mean, obviously higher quality players in England compared to MLS obviously, Yeah, but a lot of that stuff. A lot of my time was in the championship, so I mean there might be a little bit of parody there, right, So there's no travel, right, the games aren't as hot, but supposedly they're better athletes now, right, yeah? Or are

they not better athletes? No, you're you're as You're absolutely right. So I think overall, you just look at you know that that goes for all sports, right, the physique and will be records continuing to get broken, Olympic records. Can athletes in general are better physically now than they've been at any point in human history. I thought you were looking at my physique there and it's well, there's definitely hey, there's definitely some records. You hit

a five over today, Marcus Adaman. Yeah, Pete got it wrong. He said seven over. That's five over from the Blues. I just had a little bit better day on the golf course than the Sounders did tonight down in the Sandy Utah as they follow by a final score of two nothing.

You mentioned the positives really quickly. You know, we don't have a highlight, but we always do our Emerald Queen Casino Play of the match, and I'd like to do the play of the match and just gesture at the entirety of Georgie Manongu because this kid continues to show just I mean, he earned it. He keeps earning spots in the twenty for for the roster twenty, whether it's you know, starting Lanth tonight, bench in the future. I

just see him as one of these positives tonight. And I can't pick one specific play, but it's his ability to continue at running, running at guys and taking it on and not he's sort of the kids saying, this isn't my second game in MS. I'm just going to keep acting like I belong here and keep beating defenders down the line. Well, yeah, you mentioned it's only a second game. But you know he's he does have that confidence.

So he goes, I'm gonna take people on, and what it does is it puts the other team under pressure, right, and you know one he's kind of he's come back inside. It's kind of hit off him, hit off his shin and now he's in a good scoring opportunity, right. And you know when he when he played in the Open Cup, he looked good and tonight he was probably our brightest star. And when I look at you know, all these other things that are going on, there's you know,

Stephan kept us in, you know, kept it at two. He made some really good saves in that game. Jonathan Bell made it unbelievable block. And if you have a chance to go back and look at the highlights, you want to see a man stand there as a guy's lining up full power half volley or side volley from about three yards away. He just stood there, put his arms behind his back and blocked it seventy second minute.

I mean, man, that John Bell, I mean that that that play in hisself, I mean to keep a game to nothing at that point. John Bell was fantastic too. So as a goalkeeper, I'll play with him anytime. Yeah, right, he's willing to. I'm putting my body on the line, throwing my body, my head down at people's feet, and I want to see the same from my form, my players, that commitment, right, and you know he needs to keep improving. You know, we got you know, Jamr's now looks like he's back, and it'll be

difficult to get in there. But now you can see if you know you've got Jackson Reagan, it gives us a good a good choice back there, right, and he needs to keep growing, get stronger faster like everybody else. Right, and uh, but it's there's a lot of positives from him. Well, you have two more weeks where you have Open Cup next Wednesday and again RSL the week after that, and if the Sounders beat Phoenix and the Open Cup, then they'll have another midweek Open Cup game. You're gonna

need center back rotation. And now for Brian Schizer, you say John Bell is available for me, that's a starting quality center back I have right there. For everyone, there's no you know, pressure if if John Bell has to pair with the amar if John Bell has to pair with Reagan, there's no concern there because you have such a dependable center back who's, by the way, the center's guy him in the re entry draft. I mean this, this was a guy who the Sounders just said he's available. Yeah,

I mean he's fourth center back for us. I think at the time, even a fifth center back for us. Because they had ari Yaga at the time and they had Nathan so he's just kind of behind all of him. And he even works as a full back, you know, depth in those positions, had left back and now here he is the third center back on the roster and a pretty damn good one. Yeah, it's it's it's good to see and you know, it gives us a good, good cover in

there for sure, and but just a difficult game. And you know against a good RSL team at RSL, right, we knew it was always going to be a hill battle tonight. But a little bit disappointing. And you look at the possession and you know, all those different things, but there's just tiny little things when you think back at the game. You know, I think Stephen Fry hit a long ball, nobody went up for it.

Two guys standing there and Schmeetz was losing his mind on the sidelines, as was I sitting on my iPad outside the studio there, and you're like, so much is if you just go for a run. We had, we had some good opportunities, we got him behind them, We created a you know a lot of good half chances today. Yeah, five really good chances there in the first half, none of them go. We did reference one specific play, but I'll tell you that. The play of the match is

presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. Hopefully we'll have a goal to have that as our play of the match coming up on Saturday against Vancouver. of two nothing. We joined in Sandy Utah by Diego Audia. That's next on the postmatch show sports Radio at nine to fifty KJR. AM. You're listening to the home of Sounders FCS Sports Radio nine fifty KJR. Welcome back to the postmatch show. Sounders falling tonight at Real Salt Lake by a final score of two to nothing. Sounder's e FS Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Let's head down Sandy Utah. Diego

Audio just called the game for MLST Season Pass on Apple TV. Diego, How you doing down there, hey Jackson, how are you guys? Uh? Well, obviously it's a top loss for Seattle Sounders tonight it was an

exciting game, I would say the first forty five. And I know you guys were talking about the performance of shell Founders in particular, but I have to say that I consider the rotation from branch Metz and also at the end that you're playing against the best team in the Western Conference, right and tonight it showed how re also Lake It's always been a really strong team in particular Deseason but also here at America First Field. But it was a I was

a top loss. You lose that momentum. But I think now it's one of those games that you need to it's you know, hid necks right in terms of time to move on quickly, because that's that's the only way to prefer against important match that's gonna be even cool white cups on the weekend. But what I saw on the field today, I think it's, you know, we have some I would say so many important performances in general. I think the line of the back in the four with I mean Jackson ringholds,

but then you have Bell, you have Koie Baker and Guitahara. You could see that, you know, they haven't played that much together, right, and I think that that showed eventually as the game progressed. And also it was just hard. Also in the midfield they had a really challenging time against brian Ohead I have had a really strong match or Vera really strong and you could see also Joel Polo that couldn't you know, couldn't finish the game is

still recovering to get to one hundred percent. So I would say tough loss here in Sandy, Utah. But I think you can you can at least, you know, say that it was at to nil and it could be it could go way worse, I think at the end of the day. So right if if we see and we were honest about how the match was

played. But I think for Rachmetter really thinking about how how to move on quickly, and I think against Vancouver white Caps, especially the lost tonight as well, you can really you know, take that that momentum back, especially back at Lumenfield and Diego. I think something that Marcus now we're talking about

in the previous segment was the frustration level of this game? You know, I said, I'm not too frustrated given the rotation, given the Portland game and Vancouver ahead, which clearly the team is getting ready for your Marcus brought up a good point of of you know, for Christian and Jordan, you know, you come on the trip, you are you know, available, and you have to come into a match when at that point it's already one and two, nothing down, and it's hard to kind of you know,

get your running and get you know, get situated with the game that's already kind of you know, with that score line. Overall, what's your frustration level coming out of this one if you're if you're the Sounders, you know how if you want out of ten, what's your frustration level if you're on

their team right now? Yeah? I know for strict definitely. So I think that was unfortunate for a little chew to get injured, right I think you don't want to pick up injuries, especially in a game like this that

you're rotating a lot of players. I think that's that's definitely part of my my my frustration for the Sounders and especially Leo two was really being really we know how quick he is and especially in that left wing, how dangerous he could be, and he was making the good runs, the right decisions, and then unfortunately he gets gets injured. And then I saw also I think from the young players, it's also tough, and we we said this at

the beginning of the game. That's a great opportunity, but also when you you're you're not having your best night, it could be really really frustrating for for a young player. You don't know how to react. And you could see also in the midfield you got overrun in. You know, when Joe Pouell was on the field, it definitely was more control. But then when when he went out, Uh, you're also like just dominated the midfield entirely,

right, and the second half was really struggling. You could see the Thunders players they just wanted to finish the game, like the last ten minutes, right, it was tough. It was a tough loss tonight. He was diego safe travels back to Seattle. We'll see us soon for Sounders Vancouver and thanks for joining us you for a minute. Yeah, pleasure, pleasure to be with you guys, to love, but there's important game coming the weekend, so hopefully we can turn this around quickly. Indeed, there is

Thanks Diego. That's Diego Audio down there. MLS Season pass on Apple TV broadcast for Sounders and Salt Lake. RSL wins by a score of two nothing tonight, and Delta Airlines is proud to donate one soccer ball for every mile ran by Sounders FC players this season through Ray Foundations One Mile, One Ball program. We'll take a break and Marcus and I will talk about Vancouver coming up here on Saturday, big Cascadia Cup match at lumen Field. That's next

on the postmatch show sports Radio nine fifty KJR. AM, you're listening to the home of Sounders FC, Seattle's Sports Radio nine fifty KJR. Welcome back to the postmatch show Sounders. Following tonight at RSL to nothing. We were just lamenting in the break how much Georgia Manoono deserves a first team contract based

on these recent performances. And I looked good again tonight. If if there was a bright spot out of the Sounders and there was a couple, John Bell one of them, but Georgie manoon Go man, that kid has speed, he has burst. He has determination, he has confidence in his runs. I just personally I think the kid deserves the first team contract. We'll see what happens. But yeah, he was he was great and you know

how probably have another opportunity in the Open Cup coming up next week. Well, we'll see how the whole rule thing shakes out with how many times you can play and be in short term agreements and all details that are are far you know, the next level of my brain. But you know, yeah, we have our producer looking at what's what's actual the rules are. But I don't think the Open Cup counts for those games so perfect Well then,

Georgie, I think my less starts. But I just hope you know, these rules are set there for you know, a reason that we don't overuse these young guys and don't give contracts. But at the same time, it seems like a lot of times where this rule has been enacted, it's it's so that you send the guy home and don't in where he could be playing another game, right, and you know, like, hey, we'll play

him another game. I'm sure the player would go, I just want to play, yeah, right, and let the chips fall where they may. But I want to play, so you know, and then like you said, okay, we'll give him a contract. Right. If that's the case, that's that's great because that's what it's supposed to be. But I hope it doesn't limit his opportunity because he's been a bright spot for sure. Certainly has good for Georgia Manoonngo there well for the Seattle Sounders. Coming up next

is the Vancouver white Caps Saturday, May eighteenth. That's just a few days away back home at lumen Field, our Providence, Spedish premat show will begin at seven o'clock, kick off at seven thirty, and you can hear it all on Sports Radio ninety three point three kg FM. Back on the FM for the Cascadia Cup clash between the Sounders and white Caps, you'd also listen in Spanish thing on LA thirteen to sixty and watch the match via MLS Season

Pass on the Apple TV app. And of course, for Saturday's match here in a few days, get your tickets today by visiting SOUNDERSPC dot com slash tickets. So the Vancouver white Caps last time they came to Seattle, I don't at all remember what happened because I don't want to But Marcus, this

is a Vancouver team that you know. They also played tonight in Colorado lost one nothing, and instead of rotating, they started everybody, Brian White, Ryan Gold, their two stars, the great kind of combo that they have. They went all full ninety minutes and they got a red card to one of their fullbacks. To look up exactly who it was, but I know they got a red card to Utvic. So right now Vancouver is down one of their starting players. They're a lot less rested than the Sounders. They

got to travel down here. I'm really liking how Seattle again, considering they rotated tonight. I like how Seattle is set up for Saturday. Well, as much as I said I didn't like the resting players tonight. You look at this upcoming fixture and now Sounders are at thirteen points, Vancouver eighteen, right, Like you get a result against Vancouver, now you're at seventeen. These six pointer games are massive, But now Colorado was and Vancouver were tired.

They were on eighteen points, right, So it's a big win for Colorado. They move up to twenty one points. So when you're playing those teams around you, it's really vital and now it makes more sense. We also like twenty five. Now you're like, okay, maybe this was that throwaway game, right, Okay, we got arrest guys because we're looking at the future right of Saturday. I just don't like it. And as a

player, like no one's playing in my position. Yeah yeah. And then also I know the Sounders were still dealing with injuries, and I know Raoul and Obed we're questionable with injuries. Pedro still working back, and Pedro's going to make his re entry to the team on Saturday, according to Brian Schmitzer, So that's gonna be awesome to see Gomes Andrade saw the field again, so he's gonna can be back at center back. Knew whose yellow card accumulations

mentioned that's gone. He can be back at left back. So all of these little things can add the Sounders up together to what hopefully should be a fantastic performance coming Saturday against the white Caps and Marcus. It's a rivalry match, and we just saw the Sounders get up for the Cascadia match against Portland. You know, it sort of feels like they're they're feeling the rivalries again. So hopefully, you know, the previous Vancouver match from a few weeks

ago, that was a tough loss. But this time, I don't know. I'm thinking raul O bed. They weren't there in Salt Lake for this. Hopefully their vibes and the vibes of a guy like Goma's ANDROTI getting back into the lineup, Hopefully the vibes just kind of resume right where they were on Sunday. Yeah, it's gonna be a huge game, and Vancouver was historically, you know, back in the old A League days, was that was our big rival. There was no Portland then at that stage. But

a big game. Yeah, I have to text me on my in reach and let me know the result. What do you say in reach? Yeah, my little sid, I'm gonna be in the Grand Canyon. I'll be like, oh wow, three days into a trip. But you could text me that, oh, are you gonna golf on your trip? No? No golfing. Well, I guess you just take the seventy seven and just say I'm good for a while. Yeah. Yea. My handicaps dropped to a five to seven five point seven now, so I'm gonna have to give

some people some strokes now. Congratulations on that again. Yeah, that's pretty good. In case no one heard that. That was today Marcus Annaman, Ladies and gentlemen who shot us seventy seven today. Thank you to Marcus.
