It's only worth it if you enjoy it, and by Delta Airlines, proud to donate one soccer ball for every mile round by Sounders FC players this season through Ray Foundations One Mile, one Ball program. The Provident Swedish premad show starts now.

Speaker 2

Well, it's been less than three days since the Sounders played Cruzzool in concer calf action. But now we turn our attention back to MLS play for a moment as Seattle takes their sixth match in just eighteen days. I'll say that one more time.

Speaker 3

Sixth match in just eighteen days, and this.

Speaker 2

Afternoon here at Lumenfield, it's an opponent that has most likely been looking ahead to this game for the last six months. When we beat them in the down in Los Angeles last November, it's LAFC. So welcome to the Center's FC pre match show, presented by Providence Swedish, the official healthcare partner of Seattle Centers FC. Jackson Fela's here alongside the player Kellen Rowe and the coach Pete Fewing.

We are here for the next forty five minutes. Count them forty five extended pregame show today and then it'll be Danny Jackson along Steve Zachawani with Michelle Ludka on the sideline for Sounders LAFC and what we are expecting to be a very exciting game. We just got the lineups literally thirty seconds before taking the year, and that is going to lead to lots of interesting conversations today

on the premat show. You're going to hear from Albert Rusnak, You're gonna hear from Paul Rothrock, You're gonna hear our players.

Speaker 3

To watch, Keys to the match, lots of history to.

Speaker 2

Go over between us and LAFC, as this has truly become one of the Sounders' biggest rivals here in Major League Soccer. But gentlemen, as we begin, we do gotta reflect on the fact that Kellen, this is been five matches so far in just a florry of a couple of weeks. This team's had some big highs against Antigua, some low lows that we experienced just a week ago. What do you think five games into the Sounders season.

Speaker 4

Well, it's a typical Sounders season, especially to start right. There's a lot of emotions going into it. There's a lot of up and downs. You see games where you thought you were gonna win pretty easily and all of a sudden you're down to zero.

Speaker 5

In Salt Lake with five minutes left to go.

Speaker 4

So the Sounders are very good about peaking at the right time, and it's.

Speaker 5

Always been there their forte.

Speaker 4

Being a player who's been with them, but also playing against them, you never wanted to go to the end of the season into playoffs knowing that you're gonna play the Seattle Sounders.

Speaker 5

In the beginning of the season, you.

Speaker 4

Kind of wanted to come into Seattle and figure out a way to get a result because they found they never really found their stride, and so coach Bryan Smetzz and the rest of the staff has been trying to to kind of solidify that a little bit. But with so many games that they're playing Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday Saturday home away Mexico back to the US, it's so hard

to get a rhythm. And so once again, as I will allude to it a little bit that this lineup is going to be looked around again and has to be rotated to keep those guys' legs, because it's not about the first ten to twenty games of the season. You want to get as many results as can give yourself a nice little spot in the playoff season, but those last ten to fifteen games, that's where you really want to find your striding.

Speaker 6

Having said that, not ideal in Brian Schpetzer's find of the players, right, because the first two games, the Charlotte game, they thought we had it, everybody thought we had it, and we gave it away. Brian called it a loss, even though it was a two to two tie, and the RSL game that was really disappointing, just the own goal eight minutes in under no pressure whatsoever. And so there's a little bit of a sense of before we were starting, holy cow, look at this roster. Look at

the two or three new additions. This is going to be a deep team, fourteen to fifteen starters at least, maybe sixteen in the squad. And so there's a lot of optimism and then there's a little bit of a sense of shoot, here we go again, right, And last season. I think we were one to nine, one nine and two or something like that at the beginning. And I remember Brian's saying a practice one day during that time, saying, have you guys ever.

Speaker 7

Been one nine in something?

Speaker 8

You know?

Speaker 6

And to a bunch of us ever, coach, Yeah, no, I don't think any of us had.

Speaker 9

And so.

Speaker 6

To Kellen's point, what an interesting lineup? To your point, this is game six and eighteen days and so the lineup's just going to be so different, and that's a lot of fun.

Speaker 2

Well, this is going to lead to a lot of conversation throughout the pre match, so let's not waste any time, Pete.

Speaker 3

Let's get to Brian Schunzer's delta starting eleven.

Speaker 6

Well, it's called a three four to three today, right, and that will more iph It'll be a four to two three one defensively, but it looks like a three three at the back, four in the midfield and three up front. Andrew Thomas gets his first start of the

MLS campaign today. Gomez Androti's on the right, Bell in the middle, and actually it's going to be Bell on the left, Reagan in the middle, and then on the right in the midfield, Costa Rienza on the left, in the middle, JP and Danny Leva, and then up front Day la Vega, Musovski and Rothrock. But you know, when you're looking at that, I'm looking at a screenshot of this. When you're looking at this, Rothruck's gonna slide back to the left. At some point, Day la Vega might slide

underneath Massovski. It will be a there, It'll be very fluid balance and opportunity.

Speaker 5

Yeah, it's gonna look like it's a little bit different.

Speaker 4

We've heard Brian Spencer talk about it, and and we'll allude to the LAFC lineup in a second, but he was talking about uh Coza Rienzi having to go one on one against probably the best attacker uh in the laf C and in the league at the moment in the last two years, especially down that left hand. Danny Bowoga is that name, and thankfully he is not gonna start tonight. And so it's gonna that three in the back, five in the back, four in the back. It's not

really gonna totally matter. As the run of play goes through, you're gonna want to see wing backs go forward. You're gonna want to see guys rotate. Those three in the back that are gonna sit are that Bell, Reagan and Gomez. But it's going to be all about how do they how do they stop this powerhouse of an LAFC who is also rotating a little bit, yeah, a little bit.

But when you rotate with players like that, what we were trying to do as as Seattle sounders in the Manet games that we're playing as well, is you got to find a way to defensively lock that down whether it's three, four or five in the back.

Speaker 2

Because this is I mean, they're rotating a little bit, but they're rotating enough where I think that we are going to see quite a bit of a different team for LAFC today because you do see a.

Speaker 3

Good amount of those changes.

Speaker 2

Because as we look at lafc's lineup here and we normally see Bowonga, it's Nathan Ordaz. You know, Olivier Jerude, the French national team star of course long time you know soccer legend of the Ford spot.

Speaker 3

He has not.

Speaker 2

Integrated as well as I think a lot of people in la wished he had hoped.

Speaker 3

You he's starting today.

Speaker 5

You have Yo.

Speaker 3

Boas starting on the right.

Speaker 2

He brought over in the offseason from Columbus, so he's still working his way in. You know, Mark he Olglatto, another guy that they brought in from the other La Temal Galaxy. He's in the midfield Palencia with a back three of Long and then to Fari the kid from Dallas that they traded for former Seattle you as well and Segura. This is this is a definitely somewhat rotated LAFC squad.

Speaker 3

I mean, listen, when if you're a Sounder.

Speaker 2

Fan looking at us on paper, knowing six to eighteen days we have to rotate, we're facing Bowanga Cosa Rienzi, Oh my gosh, you want a test for him. But when you see that, I mean, Kellen, when I saw that LFC lineup just a few moments ago, I'm saying LFG like, okay, let's go. I think that this is a chance for the Sounders not to come in and say worth facing an enormous test. But say, l EFC is for having to rotate. They got players who flew like symptoms.

Speaker 3

We can get them today.

Speaker 5

Oh absolutely.

Speaker 4

And you think that every time someone comes into loomenfield, you know that they're gonna they're gonna be worried about it. Right, No one likes playing on turf all the time. No one likes our fans because we get a lot of them in. They're very loud. No one likes coming to Seattle when it's a cloudy, dreary, a little bit chilly the day. And hope we get a little bit of drizzle in that Seattle sunshine. But look, it's no one enjoys coming into this place. It's a hard place to

come into. And so even with those those big name players like a Jirou, like an Aaron Long who's played here before, Sigura guy like me for to watch on LFC, is actually gonna be del gattop. He's one of those workhorses, that number eight who's gonna go box to box. He's never gonna stop. He's a great connector between the forwards and the defenders. And I'm gonna have the lovely time watching him battle it out against Danny Leave and JP.

Speaker 6

You know, Cheru has not been good yet, right, but you can not count him out because the way they've set up he can just sit in the box uh and be a poacher. And he's a very very good poacher. So I love the fact that Laris is not in gold that's a great point. And he's not even on the road. He's not traveling. Cha is the backup tonight, So I love and the fact that Halling's Worth is sitting hauling said is sitting on the bench as well, for restarts a boba see not starting as well. There's

some firepower on the bench. But all you I almost think Steve Talendelo, the LAFC coach, and SCHMITTZ must have talked last night. So I'll tell you what.

Speaker 4

Take him off and I'll take him off you, sir Red Rover, bring all your starters off. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 6

And then uh, to your point. When we saw this lineup, it's straight out of the movie Victory that Wade Weber and I love so much. And we can win this, right, it is possible. And the Schmid said yesterday at halftime you might see changes that early at forty five minutes, so they're gonna want to Both teams are gonna play Tuesday. The Sounders leave tomorrow for Mexico for the second leg of the Cruis Zool game. So uh, it makes sense.

Speaker 7

But this is I love it.

Speaker 6

This is what it is all around the world.

Speaker 4

I mean, I talk about and talk about the movie Miracle and all I can think of is again and then Sounders are playing again. Right, It's been constant this this beginning of the season. It's hey, all right, back on the line, are doing it again?

Speaker 10

Yeah, yeah, somebody put Kurt Russell up on the video monitor and make them the state the laps in the or run the laps, I should say in the stadium if it was it was a hockey core of all right, well we have Sounders LAFC. You know, normally in this opening segment we take the time we spell out all this. Here's what we see from the sounder side.

Speaker 2

We're kinda gonna blend this whole conversation together because really, when we talk about what the Sounders and LAFC are doing, both rotating so much today and again, as he as Pete just mentioned, and I'll say it again, Hugo Laris is maybe the biggest absence for LAFC today. He is the leading goalkeeper in French national team history, has done amazing things for them long career with Tottenham over in

the EPL. He had a great first year with LAFC last year and again as Pete mentioned he is not starting in goal and not even on the bench today.

Speaker 3

Didn't travel.

Speaker 2

It seems like with lafc here to Seattle that is an enormous absence. We got to talk about Seattle side and what Brian Spencer is putting out and listen, why do I have so much hope? More no hope now that the Sounders can get three points today, Let's talk about what Brian Schenzer is putting in his eleven coming up. I will quickly dive into the Providence Swedish team health reports, which of course every single week is presented by Providence Swedish,

the official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Just one player, that's Read Baker Whiting. He is out with a hamstring injury. Still no timetable from Brian Schmitzer, but I you know, out of practice at Long Ancors.

Speaker 3

I see him working off to the side.

Speaker 2

We hope to see Read Baker Whiting back in full team trainings at some point here in the future. As we are now about forty minutes away from kickoff at Emerald Green Casino Pitch at Lumenfield, Today's kind on a kickoff is presented by Emerald Green Casino, the entertainment capital.

Now back to Seattle Soundersucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.

Speaker 2

Welcome back to lumin Field sounders FC premat show, pat you down to kick off Sounders and facing LAFC today Here under cloudy Scotts might end up seeing a little bit of rain. Jackson PHELTX, Calen repeat hewing here on the Emerald Pink Casino count Down to kick Off. And as we continue on here, you know, we kind of spend a lot of time there on LAFC the previous segment.

We'll get back to them, but I do want to talk a little bit more about what Seattle is doing today and what they're throwing out and and Pete, you make a good point there as you point out, you're pointing to the field right now, and I know exactly what you want to talk about, the fact that we are debuting also the Sailor's Sea Kit today here on

the field. We've seen it on TV at least, but we are seeing the debut of the new Sounders Jersey the Sailor's Sea Kit, and what a story that went into that and the efforts involved as it is one of I mean, ESPN ranked as the best new kit across all Major League Soccer. And as we see down there, it's going to look real, real good today.

Speaker 15

It is.

Speaker 5

Look you see it.

Speaker 4

I see it in the stands now, if you people walking up the stairs, and it's pretty incredible. The story behind it, the sense of community that Seattle Sounders brings and they're now bringing into the rain side as well. And anything you have around the Seattle area, people will get behind. But if it builds into your community, that's

what people want. And so it's it's there's no reason or there's no doubt that it's number one, and you're all so debuting it against well, I would say, is a semi new rival in l a FC ones that you really want to tear down. So I love the whole storyline behind it.

Speaker 6

Yeah, me too as well. I'll tell you what we do live in a city that that really tries to include everybody right and tries to get everybody a part of a process, two tribes coming together to make this uniform right, And so you look at it and you think, and for the players, I think it's it's a nice

looking uniform, number one. It's an attractive looking uniform. But it is cool that we're getting so many more people in and around the game, right, Like when the Jimi Hendricks uniform came out, right.

Speaker 4

That one's not just the GM the coach kind of going to pick an adidask going to go pick a Jersey. Now you find it, you find a local people, you find you find everyone in your community to help it out.

Speaker 6

Bruce Lee, the Heritage Jersey, those are and you know, to me, I mean it's not to me, it's not just a marketing thing. It's a let's represent our community as best as possible.

Speaker 2

The fact that it's derived from those weaving traditions and

the collaborations with the pul the Muggleitude Sequamish tribes. And also in addition to that, how and this is what I grab the note here for the fact that there are is The Sounders are committed to donating the proceeds up to fifty thousand dollars from the first thirty days of sales of the Sailor's Sea Kid to organizations dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of tribal communities and protecting the Sailor Sea's ecosystem, which includes the Burke Museum, Potlatch Fund,

Puget Soundkeeper, Seattle Aquarium, and Raid Foundation. It's quite amazing what they've done with this true community kit, the origins of it, the efforts involved to make it a true honoring this area, and then the tribes and just it's gonna.

Speaker 3

Not to mention it. It looks fricking awesome.

Speaker 2

It's such a great looking kit and we will all get to see it out there today at.

Speaker 3

Lumenfield for Sounders and LAFC.

Speaker 2

Let's get back to some tactical discussion here, because this is some changes for both teams, but specifically from the Sounders. We see Danny mczowski getting the start in this three four three from Brian Schmitzer, and alongside him are Haesus Ferreira and Pedro de la Vega. Callan Pedro has been very, very good to start this year, kind of the fully actualized Pedro that we all thought we were getting last year.

Speaker 3

Jesus continuing to integrate. I think it's a work in progress.

Speaker 2

As Brian Schenzer has said, what do you think about this threesome leading the Sounders attack today? We talk about Jezus Ferra continuing to integrate, but he's also already on a few assists right playing obviously with Paul Ariola, but he's already played with De la Vega.

Speaker 5

He's gotten him involved as well.

Speaker 4

Dannie Missoski's gonna come in here and hopefully one give Jordan Morris a rest He's played a lot of minutes and there's gonna be a lot of travel and there's a lot of big games coming up.

Speaker 5

Against Cruz Azuel in Mexico.

Speaker 4

Missovski's also was a former LAFC player, so it also as as Brian Smetzer does, is a good man manager, and so he knows that this game is where Danny Missowski's gonna kind of.

Speaker 5

Feel that little bit more of a fire.

Speaker 4

You're gonna see him run a little bit more, that hackles, a little bit more, He's gonna have a little bit more of an edge because he knows he wants to impress his old coach that let him go, his old GM that let him go, and the players he used to play with.

Speaker 6

Yeah, I think that is a really smart move on Brian's part to give Danny the shot, and everybody wants.

Speaker 8

To see him.

Speaker 6

Get a goal today, not just because it's against his old team, but to get him going. But I'm with you, I think there's an added incentive. You just can't deny it. You can't say, well, I get up the same for every single game. It's LAFC, right, and we do have a very good rivalry. Even though it's pretty short, but we played him five times last season, right, So, but putting Danny up there, I think is a wise decision.

It is good to get Jordan a little bit of rest before the Tuesday game, and it's a good motivator for him. I think these guys are all coming together really quickly, right as far as you know De la Vega Ferrera that they are understanding each other a lot better because they're good players, right, they're in their prime.

Speaker 7

Right now.

Speaker 6

They can say, I remember Chance Fry when he to the New York Cosmos. Bogachevich said to him, which foot do you want the ball play too? And he said, my right foot, Which do you want it spinning into you or spinning away from you? Spinning into me? And that's how he received every ball. I'm not saying these guys are exactly like that, but they can play together and say I want it here and I want it there, and they're good enough to demand that of each other and work together that way.

Speaker 5

Well, there's a little gamesmanship.

Speaker 4

There's a little savvinus soccer savviness that you have to have when you play with new players.

Speaker 5

We play the players you played with before.

Speaker 4

You understand that Joe Paulo doesn't want the ball in front of him, he wants the ball at his feet, and when you're in trouble, he gave it to him. You know, Jordan Morris doesn't want the ball but the bat guy in his back and he wants to be running behind the line.

Speaker 5

You know, Peter dea Lavega wants to take a guy on first.

Speaker 4

You know, I think that Hazus Ferrer is a smart enough guy and you can see it when he plays, and there's a reason he has assists. He knows where the players are going to be before they be there, because he's he's looking, he's he's tuned in during practice, watching.

Speaker 5

On the sideline if he's not on the field.

Speaker 4

These guys need to start doing that a little bit more and you'll start to see that even if you rotate again players in a game, you could still have that savviness of knowing what.

Speaker 5

The player next to you and the player in front of you want.

Speaker 2

I want to take a break, I want to come back, and I want to talk about the two in the midfield for the Sounders and Danny Leavea, Jual paul What we've seen from that duo so far and also a couple of things to clean up and continue discussing about the LAFC changes, as they also are making quite a bit of rotations today. As we continue counting you down to kickoff, it's Sounders, It's LAFC. These two teams. There is a rivalry budding here and we're gonna see it continue.

I will say, Sounder fans, you can download McDonald's aut today and when the Sounders win, you'll win a Freemik Chick in the following day with minimum two dollars purchase exclusively in the app.

Speaker 3

Will continue on the providence.

Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.

Speaker 2

Welcome back to Luminfield, where we have cloudy skies.

Speaker 3

Its not too cold here in the building.

Speaker 2

Most folks able to get in and no ponchos yet as the rain continues to hold off here as we are counting you down to kick off Sounder's LAFC exactly thirty minutes away. Right here on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr F M, Danny Jackson, Steve Zachalani will have the call with Michelle Ludka on the sideline.

Speaker 3

My name is Jackson Feltz.

Speaker 2

I'm alongside Kellen Rowe and Pete viewing here for the providence We just Prematt show. Let's continue to talk about this Sounders rotated team today and if you're just joining us, Brian Schmencer making some rotational changes. The last segment we talked about Heyes Wu's Ferrara. Danny Mazowski Pedro de Levega as the forwards in this little bit unique three four to three announced lineup. I want to talk about the

two in the midfield, Danny Leva Jual Paulo. We saw them week and a half ago, and Kellen I thought that that duo did very well together. I thought Danny Leva has taken a clear step. I love what I'm seeing out of the kid. And I look at this partnership and sort of saying, you have a big task in seally of c today, but boy, it's a big opportunity for those two together to shine with flying colors.

Speaker 5

I agree.

Speaker 4

And look, you have the experience of Drop Paulo, and then you have the mobility and the youth and the knowledge of Danny Danny Lava. I think Danny's really come into his own. He's played, he's a well known name

around these parts. He plays every once in a while every throughout the years, and I think he's starting to solidify that he is going to be that that maybe that first guy off the bench when it comes to the midfield, and you know, he gets to learn alongside a guy like Job Paulows, which is amazing to have as well, because he's got the skill, but he's also got the knowledge and he gives it to you.

Speaker 5

He's not willing to gate keep that.

Speaker 4

He's one that that's always in your ear when you ask for it. And so I think they played very well out that they were a little unlucky, and they have another chance here to show Brian Smeetzer that hey, we need to be those guys off the bench for you.

Speaker 6

Bryan said it a number of times over the last couple of weeks. That's a good combination for exactly what you just said. This game's not too big for JP and for Danny Lava, this game is a big game for him personally to kind of get a stamp in an important game and be a bit of a leader. So that's a good combination. The way they play, one sits one can go, and so it'll be it'll be there's a lot of guys that are playing today that

this is a tremendous test for the colony. You know, this is going to be a second game starting He was okay his first game, gave away a couple of balls. But today, I mean he's playing against LAFC. It's gonna be a big one. But that middle pairing should be good today.

Speaker 3

It should be Andrew Thomas.

Speaker 2

By the way, another opportunity in goal today with Stephen Freed having to breather Andrew Thomas in goal really quick before we break, I've had one more quick question.

Speaker 3

We got to be tied on this.

Speaker 2

But LAFC, as we talked about in the first segment, rotating heavily. One miss is their goalkeeper Hugo Laris, legend with the French national team in Tottenham. He is out today. Also Denny Bowonga, maybe the best attacker in this entire league. He is rotated today and he's on their bench. For both of you guys, which is the bigger absence for LAFC. Is it Larisan goal or Pete? Is it belonged to the attacker?

Speaker 6

For me, it's Larisan goal. They have not given up a goal in the run of play, and they haven't given up a goal in the last four games. The only two goals they've given up been a restart and a PK right. The other thing for me that I really like, I think he's got the best distribution with his feet of any goalkeeper in the league, and he's not afraid to do it. He's looking a long all the time. He hits the diagonal balls if you're playing

the guys on the right. So I think I think they're gonna miss him a lot.

Speaker 4

I mean very coach answer there, right, defense first, and look, Hugi Laris is going to save you games. And he's already done it. He's done against the Seattle Sounders. But Danny Bowoga wins you games, and he's done it here many of times. A big game, small game doesn't matter. He gets this LAFC team going. And so when he comes off that bench, you know anyone who's going to go against him, and it can't be just be one defender anymore. Now you have to slide over and he makes the game hard well.

Speaker 2

Coach says defense, the player says offense, Yeah, goals man. I the fan am just really damn happy that both of them are out today for LAFC.

Speaker 3

As we are continuing to count you down to kick off here.

Speaker 2

Welcome back to Luminfield, where we are just about twenty minutes away from Sounders LAFC kicking off. And this will be the twenty fourth time that these two teams have met across all competitions, and there have been many many competitions.

Speaker 3

They met five times in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2

Just last year, the two regular season losses we remember unfortunately, the leagst Cup loss, the US Open Cup loss down at Starfire, we remember those, unfortunately, but fortunately we will all remember what happened at the end of the season where the Sounders ended their season in the playoffs when it mattered the most. The Sounders went down to Los

Angeles beat them in VMO Stadium two to one. Jordan Morris one hundred and ninth minute, I remember just falling to my knees and got It was fun watching those mad and sad LAFC fans walk up off the concourse. That was a memory I'll never forget, and we will all remember that poff win down in Los Angeles, both in nineteen and last year. But all time, outside of last year, it's been a bit one sided. Six wins

for Seattle, four draws, thirteen losses. As I mentioned, in the playoffs where it's mattered most, Seattle's been three to one in the MLS Cup playoffs. But overall, we'd like to see that regular season record improve, certainly, and we'll mention here in Seattle that record a bit more even four five and three, one of those losses even coming down at Starfire. So these two teams very much and Albert Rusnak.

Speaker 3

I don't think we're gonna be able to get to the interview. But one of the questions I asked him yesterday out at.

Speaker 2

Training was, you know, does this feel like a legit rivalry? Now he just instant reaction, Yeah, does absolutely. This is true rivalry between Sounders and LAFC. Now, after all the battles, we have had time to get to our Sounders FC.

Speaker 3

Players to watch.

Speaker 2

It should be an interesting one with a good amount of rotation today from Brian Schmetster Kellen.

Speaker 3

Who you going with?

Speaker 5

I'm going with Paul Rothrock.

Speaker 4

That we talk about rotation Last year we were talking about Paul Rothrock solidified as that starter, and now you have Paul Rothrock as a rotation player, as a role player, and so I want to see Paul really give it. We talked about players that needed to get have a good game to continue.

Speaker 5

To stride, and Paul Rothrock is that guy for me.

Speaker 6

One thing on Paul, Brian wants him higher up the field, right because he's starting a little deeper. But Kenny get on the end of those crosses. For me, it's Pedro de la Vega today. You know, three goals against Antigua right, but he hasn't gotten any goals during the MLS regular season. We need his production today and his movement off the ball. We need him to get goals and get crosses.

Speaker 2

In Pedro's been excellent so far this year. Need to see that indeed, and I will mention for Callen's player to watch Paul Rothrock. He were going to hear from him on the Providence Weish prematch show coming up next as he caught up from with Michelle Ludka just a few moments ago.

Speaker 3

But for my player to watch, it's Andrew.

Speaker 2

Thomas because you know, getting the nod in place of Stephan Fridaday against an LAFC team and we didn't know it could have been Bowanga out there and it still is.

Speaker 3

Oliviers rude.

Speaker 2

Andrew Thomas is facing another challenge today and if he is going to be the guy eventually when Stephen Frye eventually says I'm done, this is another chance for Andrew.

Speaker 3

Thomas to, I think, make a headline.

Speaker 2

And say I have a lot of quality and you aren't losing anything when I step in here for.

Speaker 4

Fry I mean, like Bryan Spencer's again a great man manager and he's giving Andrew Thomas this chance to say, hey kid, this is a big game.

Speaker 5

Show me what you're made of.

Speaker 4

And Andrew Thomas is one of those players that I don't think it understands it's such a big game. Every game is a big game to him. So this is not like it's out of the norm for him. And he'll just come out as mister Thor that he does and kind of have his antics and have his thing and like he's got confidence in that way. Maybe it's a youthful ignorance, but whatever happens with Andrew Thomas, it works for him.

Speaker 6

He's got to play within himself. He can't try to do too much. He can't try to go for balls that he shouldn't go for. You know, Casey Killer. I love the way he knew what he could and couldn't do. Andrew Thomas has to come up with a couple of big saves today, but he's also got to play within himself. Not too high, not too low exactly.

Speaker 9

Well.

Speaker 2

Speaker 3

Here's what Paul Rothbrock had to say about today's game.

Speaker 25

So we've got LAFC Sounders, that budding rivalry taking center stage again here today. Now, unfortunately you weren't able to play in the playoff match against LAFC last year, but you've seen this team before in your short time with the Sounders. What have you learned from them and how do you think that's going to help you in starting here tonight?

Speaker 26

Yeah, I think you know, they've always been a good team, They've always been a tough matchup for us. I think we learned a lot from last year, and obviously at the end of the year we won the game that counted. But you know, facing them four I think it's four times last year, I think we got a pretty good understanding of how they try and match up against us. And you know, a couple of their different strong players, some of them have moved on, but they.

Speaker 7

Still have some of the same pieces.

Speaker 26

And yeah, I think they're, you know, really good in transition. We've got to be ready for that. They sometimes like to sit back on us and let us keep possession and then you know, countertech and we've learned, we learned the hard way sometimes last year that that could hurt us in moments, and you know, obviously they caught us in some games. And but I think it's a great

rivalry and you know, I'm excited. The guys are excited to start the year off on a different know, a different tone with this team.

Speaker 25

For you, personally, you kind of came into this starting lineup last year and it showed yourself to be able to be used in so many different ways and really impressed the coaching staff your teammates. Also, how did you take that experience and then bring it with you now? Into your second season with the first team of dealing kind of with the changes to the formation and the tasktics that the team is doing to kind of fit your skill set.

Speaker 26

Yeah, I think, you know, the off season was a difficult offseason because I was I didn't really have one I was rehaving my injury. I had a very serious squad injury that was like over twelve week recovery. But I think still with that last year gave me a lot of confidence and gave me a lot of confidence in myself. I think I had a lot of that, but it you know, it helps when you get a number of MLS games under your belt and you kind of know what the league's about. You know how the

games feel. And I think my teammates and my coaching staff also really got to know me eventually and like my skill set and what I bring. And I think my focus right now is just to continue doing what I'm best at, and you know, that's eighty to ninety percent of my game is, you know, the things that make me me and then as as the season goes on, trying to sharpen all those tools and adds a little bit, you know, something different to my game every once in a while as the games progress.

Speaker 27

Paul, thanks so much for the time, good luck today.

Speaker 7

Thank you appreciate it.

Back to Seattle, Saunders Sucker on Sports Ready ninety three point three kjr FL.

Speaker 2

Welcome back to Luminfield, where the flags are out and we are getting ready for the national anthem ahead of Sounders LAFC.

Speaker 3

We are just about five minutes.

Speaker 2

Away from kick hire at Emerald Pin Casino pitch A, Luminfield.

Speaker 3

Today's count in the kickoff has been presented.

Speaker 2

By Emerald Green Casino, the entertainment capital of the Northwest. Before we wrap things up, let's get to those lineups one last time. Here, Pete, what is Brian Schminz's delta starting eleven?

Speaker 6

He's listed as a three four to three. It's gonna morph throughout the game. Thomasin goal, the back three Gomas, Androtti, Reagan and Bell. I think you'll see Kalani being on the right side of that. In the midfield, it's Pedro de la Vega, Rothrock Rothrock on the left, De la Vega on the right, JP Leva in the middle. A Seuss will sit right underneath Danny Mssoski.

Speaker 2

So A good amount of rotation there from Brian Schmitzer. We're also seeing quite a bit of rotation from the two to zero LAFC visitors today from head coach Steve Charundelo. Olivia Cheruhs are attacking the French national team legend. He's there, Stars striker or daz Yobo be off of his left and right respectively. Smoliakov, the Ukrainian fullback, will be their left wing back. Just acquired Palencia as their right wing back. Saldania just brought up as well. He is a young

young midfielder. He's in there next to Marky Dogado, Eddie Cigarette, Aaron Long and former CLU and Dallas player new Cosey Tafari is their other center back.

Speaker 3

With Hassel in goal not.

Speaker 2

Getting their starting keeper in there today, Let's get to keys the match, Kellen, what are your keys to Sounders LAFC today.

Speaker 5

We'll stop shooting yourself in the foot right. We've had two on goals.

Speaker 4

You've had some bad defensive plays, just as these mislap mishaps that just kind of they happen in the beginning of the season. But you know, we've played enough games now and I know everyone's a little bit tired and the rotation is happening.

Speaker 5

But you gotta do the little things right.

Speaker 4

So stop shooting yourself in the foot and do those little things right.

Speaker 6

You gotta make plays. Restarts are important both ways, offensively and defensively. LAFC is a counter attack team, maybe not as threatening today without Bawanga in the starting lineup, but you got stop those as well. And Kellen's right, we can't give anything away.

Speaker 8

And then big time.

Speaker 6

Players have to make big time plays at big times games. That's one of these today, right, So let's see Pedro de la Vega really turn it on and then get the cross it and Danny Masovski it would be wonderful for him to get a goal.

Speaker 28

To kick off his MLSKN big There's no better way to do it. Look, I've got amazing fans right now. You're going against that rival that's a little bit new. You're wearing your new kits to have the community behind you.

Speaker 5

You have it. The stage is set for it right now.

Speaker 3

Tonight, the stage is set. The Sailors see is making its way onto the field.

Speaker 2

We aren't getting ready for maybe the Sounders second biggest rival in LAFC. It's Parland. But LAFC is right there. These two teams have had so many battles over the years, lots of playoff battles. Sounders ended their season last year down in Los Angeles.

Speaker 3

You know that Steve Tarangelo and those.

Speaker 2

Players aren't chomping at the bit for payback here at Loomingfield today. Let's see if the Sounders can ruin their party. Let's see if the Sounders can make them have their first loss of the twenty twenty five campaign. Danny Jackson, Steve Zachwani on the call, Mishade Ludka on the sideline.

Speaker 29

Good afternoon for me UC pitch at luman Field for this heavyweight matchup between Your Sounders and LAFC. While LAFC have shouldered the load just like the Sounders have balancing CONCACAFF Champions Cup play with the start of the MLS season, they have fared somewhat better with four wins and four clean sheets in their last four games. LFC are finding results in a congested schedule, but even with the usual revolving door of players in Southern California, they don't appear

to have missed a beat For Your Sounders. It was a tough game versus RSL last week, giving up two preventable goals in their two zero loss, but bolstered by a strong concacafft Cup showing against Mexican powerhouse Cruisers All in midweek. Bryan Schmitzer will be pleased with the resilience his squad are showing, and with five goals scored at Lumenfield already this season, the new signings, combined with the preseason work in the attack in half of.

Speaker 8

The field, is breeding some early success.

Speaker 29

I'm Danny Jackson alongside our all star casts this afternoon.

Speaker 8

Former Sounders winger Steve Zach Quarni here in.

Speaker 29

The booth and Michelle Ludker down on the sideline. So as the team starts to slowly get themselves sorted for kickoff, let's get you the delta starting eleven for your sounders and a number of changes for Brian Schmetz as he prepares for Tuesday. Andrew Thomas stepping in gold for Stephen Fry. Are back three today of Jamar Reagan and Bell Kalani Kosrienzi on the right, Paul Rothrock on the left, Danny Labor and.

Speaker 8

Shao Powell will anchor the center of the park.

Speaker 29

Pegro de la Vega Jesus Farrer will sit in behind Danny Mussovski up front for LAFC SO three fourth Hussal Long, Sigur Tafari, Valencia, Seldana del Gado, Osmolyakov and Yaboa Ordaz and Olivia Jeru.

Speaker 8

The World Cup winner from France.

Speaker 29

So as the referee just holds things up, he's waiting for the queue from the TV. Scarves are a perfect day for soccer, late upper fifties weather it's dry, so Steve zach Karni tough result last week, good solid performance midweek and against a team that has really been the fau of the Sounders over the last couple of years.

Speaker 8

What do the Sounders have to do to get their three points?

Speaker 9

It has been in both teams rotating, but it sounds its LFC, two of the big ones. It's a team that was tough to beat last year, but when it Madge, some would say we did win. I think it's a key opportunity for some of the guys we don't often see on both sides to make their steak. Of course, both teams rotating massive games in midweek. For the Sounders today, get your playmakers on the board, especially Hasis Vera. Can you really get him going? I'm in a raven I want a rave Foren today, but can we.

Speaker 7

Get him going? I think set pieces are key.

Speaker 9

And then lastly you alluded to it cuts out the individual errors.

Speaker 7

They've been too many of them. So fine a.

Speaker 8

Season kickoff for LAFC. They're in an all white strip.

Speaker 29

Today attacking the goal to our right the south end. And then for the Sounders they are in their league besting new kit, the Sailor Sea kit today.

Speaker 8

I'm trying to figure out kind.

Speaker 29

Of a combination of teal, dark green, some Navy wrapped in there looking sharp down on the field. They're attacking the goal to our left, their usual north end in this first half as Jackson Reagan anchors the middle of that back three, rolls it back to Andrew Thomas gets an early touch.

Speaker 8

In this game, Kilany gets his home debut on.

Speaker 29

The Sounder loses the ball, tough place to lose it right on top of the box, cleared up by.

Speaker 8

Danny Laver out on the far side. The LAFC left for a throw. Smaller Cuff gets his debut on that left hand side both teams.

Speaker 29

Is mentioned in pre game and as Steve just mentioned in his comments and he changes both teams.

Speaker 8

Playing on Tuesday and Kunkergaft.

Speaker 29

Champions Cup, the LFC has some early pressure down their left hand side, down towards the endline towards our Dere's a little heavy on the touch. Smell your cuff, the left sided Ukrainian player who got signed in the off season asking for a corner. Nothing given by the referee. It's gonna be a.

Speaker 8

Goalkick for Andrew Thomas and the Sounders.

Speaker 9

I think for both teams they rotate heavily, but sometimes when you do rotate like this, and you've got a lot of guys playing who are also trying to impress the coast to make sure that they're in.

Speaker 7

There for the so called big games down the end of the season.

Speaker 9

It can be a more open game, more aggressive, more attacking LFC just two minutes in here already playing on a front FOT. It's a team that we normally see playing transition, defend, absorb pressure.

Speaker 7

Will be key to see how they kind of played today.

Speaker 9

Having a big target man in Olivia as yourew, of course, someone that has a lot of quality up there.

Speaker 7

They're on the Sounder side.

Speaker 9

Can you get some of these guys who may be a bit more nervous not a season and some of the guys you've normally used to see it so should be a fairly open game. Hey, good crowd, that means a big one.

Speaker 29

Aaron longforma Sounders so has to build out the back a little bit of high press for the Sounders. Sofari recent signing from Dallas locked it down the line. It's gonna flick through past Cherub for the first time this afternoon. We're gonna throw it down to Michelle Luca Good afternoon, Michelle Good.

Speaker 27

Afternoon you guys.

Speaker 25

Earlier this week had coach Brian Schmitzer saying that this is the first time in his tenure with the club being in Major League Soccer that they have had three matches in seven days, really alluding to the fact that we're seeing such a change in the lineup tonight, only eight changes from Wednesday's starting lineup against Cruise of Zuel. In fact, the only three players oh foul called right there, echoed by Booze. I'll get back to you here in

a second, Danny, but just echoing. Only people that are in tonight's lineup that we're playing on Wednesday as well was Gomettees, Adrati, Reagan and dala Vegas.

Speaker 27

So lots of changes for the Sounders, but good to have those fresh legs in.

Speaker 8

Yeah, thanks, Michelle.

Speaker 29

I think Bryce schevetz Ha talked in the off season about the depth of the squad, and even with CCC Steve, it has given the chance for Brian Schwetz and his staff to make rotations, forced rotations of course, to give guys a rest, but it's allowed minutes on all of them and to figure out exactly what his best at eleven will be.

Speaker 9

Yeah, and that will take some time. You're still going through that. Think'll starting to get an idea of who's in the leader right now. But how long has it been since you looking say the sound is on their bench Today they've got eight players who likely will be starting in Mexico and midweek. Yeah, the line up underfield is still a.

Speaker 7

Very good team that you think of going and win this.

Speaker 9

So you're rotating a squad, but you're not quite getting weaker as you may have done a couple of years ago. So yes, Michelle luded to it tons of strength and depth and it's on show today for both teams. NFC are rotating and they bring on a guy who's won the World Cup and he's a French national team full

time minion goalsc. So I think both teams showing us strength and death and it may come down to depend on how the game goes, the kind of subj you make, because with a firepower you can bring on you normally don't have that because those guys are usually on the pitch.

Speaker 29

Yeah, you look at smaller Cup making his debut for LAFC today, Seldana making his debut with starting debut as well this afternoon alongside playing against Danny Labor have been.

Speaker 8

In the squad obviously many years now, even.

Speaker 29

He's so young, and of course former starter JP, one of the best midfield is just a couple of years ago in MLS. So the ability for the sounder is to bring off not just talent but also experience. As Parra gets picked off by his former Dallas teammate Tafari.

Speaker 8

Playing one year here at SEATTLEU before moving on into.

Speaker 29

The pros, Zagura plays the ball back to Hussa former Vancouver White Cat's goalkeeper, of course, holds it out to Smolyakov through the legs of Kalani. It's gonna be a challenge for him against LAFC today, but we'll see what both coaches do as we get into.

Speaker 8

The second half, depending on how the game goes.

Speaker 29

Of course, lots of firepower on both benches LAFC, Buwanga Bobase to name just a couple.

Speaker 8

Martinez a young player who in.

Speaker 29

Grave reviews all across the globe, fell by JP on your Boa deep in l e f c's half of the field and then near side the right right in front of the LAFC match of course, Toronto loads Brian Schmidtz lots of respect between both coaching staffs. Unto Razuff of course, played played, and I shouldn't say coached here for the Sounders under Ziggy Schmidt. He's our assistant coach at LFC, so they know each other very well.

Speaker 8

We've had lots of battles.

Speaker 29

LFC have had the better of the Sounders, but as you mentioned the last game in the semi finals of the Western Conference last November, the Sounder's got the better of LFC down in LA.

Speaker 9

Yeah, I think it's a lot of future respect between these two teams, and I think at this point you're not gonna surprise each other with how you're gonna play. We saw him so often in different competition. Listen, it's no secret that the scoreline at least was very lopsid in the lfc's favor. But the last time out this sounds quite done. Big one down in La winning in the playoffs, and I think today it's a measuristic game, and never be two early in the season to see

where you stack up against the other big teams. The other toilted teams are supposed to win the things this season. NFC is one of them, and you get to see very early on, so of where we measure up. Yes, you've got a lot of your starts on the bench, but I think you don't get many more challenges than NFC coming here.

Speaker 7

Who's a weapon of Sason.

Speaker 29

His Sounders on the break with Mussovski not much support in front, it has to go back towards Ferrera support from behind JP Sounders just putting their foot in the ball, maintaining possession of one thing we have seen from Brian Schmittz's squad in the game so far as the build it to play quickly through the lines. There's a lot of talk about the intensity of practice is trying to pay off.

Speaker 8

It's what we're seeing on the field, but loose ball. There By Jonathan Bell.

Speaker 29

Who's stepped in many times for the Sounders over the last twelve months or so, playing on that left hand side in a three, sound has reverted to that three in the back system. As they've played in midweek, they've gone four in the back, they've gone three in the back.

Brush mess just trying to figure out what's the best lineup for any given game, and they talked about see the rotation of lineup and personnel depending on the opponent that the Sounders want to have that as We'll get back to you in a second's Fererra picked up a ball, rolls the ball through the legs of del Gado top of the box at Laver can't quite connect with Ferrara inside the box cleaned up by plenty of rolls.

Speaker 8

A nice ball out to listen near side to.

Speaker 29

Your boa off the shins of bell of here throwing for LAFC.

Speaker 9

Yeah, you know, I think the Sounders came into the season thinking they played this free at the back a lot more often this season that we've may be seen in the past. It does allow the width to be held. We have rough rock on one side, colonn on the other, but it can be the wing backs going up and forward. It lets Fererra play a little bit more narrow on the left than if they got the right. They're very close to Masoski, so you can keep your width and still have numbers centrally.

Speaker 7

That's the advantage there.

Speaker 9

I think both teams feeling each other around at the moment, no one really penetrated through and I think you made a good point.

Speaker 7

Then can the Sounders play through the lines a lot more?

Speaker 9

If you can get Fererra between the lines facing the LFC back line into board, then you mail me grunts off it rough rock Delavega Musoski.

Speaker 7

That's when good things will happen.

Speaker 29

Good ball by Reaga and then split those lines Fan Dela Vega coming up that right hand side foul given quickly played by the Sounders to Kilani far side the right, cuts inside to Labor shifts the ball from center to the far side, the right to Della Vega, who've seen a practice who likes to float to that right hand side, allowing Kilane out to.

Speaker 8

This near side, back to Dela Vega towards the end light.

Speaker 29

He goes whipped in on his right foot, almost catches out the goalkeeper corner kick given by.

Speaker 8

The assistant referee on the far side.

Speaker 29

First corner kick for the Sounders as it remains here in the ninth minute an e QC pitch Luminfield ninety three point three KGr FM Sounders nil LAFC nil.

Speaker 7

I think Pegel Vegas had a great start to the season.

Speaker 9

We said all off season, just did mapreses and it's a bit more what it's about. He's looked very very sharp, but just look sharp ready this afternoon, putting crosses into the box a lot. This kind of game when two big teams. At times it may come down to these warmants next cent pieces as his frere up big opportunity.

Speaker 29

I want to get goes short to Danny Labor was what's on the practice field?

Speaker 8

Sorry? Good Whipton Paul couldn't find a Sounders player finds the hands.

Speaker 29

Of Hassal in the LFC goal getting a start today. Hugo luis not even traveled with the squad as he prepares to travel to Columbus in midweek. French former French captain, World Cup winnering goal has had really bright start to

his MLS career. Of Goalkeeper of the Year was Colleena who got it last year, who was in the sticks for Charlotte in the first game here at Lumenfield just a couple of weeks ago as del Gardo essentially the park ship from Lly Galaxy to LFC and the offseason ball down the line towards Ordairs well played by.

Speaker 2

Yea.

Speaker 8

Mark steps in Worlds looking sharp.

Speaker 29

And bright already in these early parts of the season, picking off where he left off last year.

Speaker 8

Here's JP goodlow ball by Ferrara to find Jp.

Speaker 29

To Kohlany nicely composed by the young rolls at square to bell. It's the foot of de la Vega. This time he shifted from right to this near side the left. Sounders just slow the game down. Lafc drop off just inside the Sounders defense of half of the field of their line of confrontation. Lots of rotation, Steve, we're seeing already for Rara now on the right hand side De la Vega.

Speaker 8

It's gonna get the license. It seems like Reischmiz give those players the license to move around.

Speaker 9

And I think you have to on a game today where you have Russnack Morris on the bench because Colane's holding a whit for the right hand side and rough Rock in general's holding the right from the left hand side, it doesn't look in a Vega and Ferrero to kind of find kind of the inside pockets next Toime Sty next to Joe Parlow and get on the ball.

Speaker 7

You need those two to get on.

Speaker 9

The board a lot this afternoon, as they're the ones that could really make from Sappen has play makers and I I've seen you when the Sounder shop and if Arizona field ball.

Speaker 8

Over the top towards Kolana.

Speaker 7

Can he get it?

Speaker 29

Does against Smoleykoff receives the ball inside the eighteen strikes.

Speaker 7

It go by Colity, first.

Speaker 3

Golling ever.

Speaker 30

For COLONEA what a time to score it for the Sounders. He shrucked off the LAFC left sided player, received the ball, cut it on his left foot and found the far corner to put the Sounders up here at lerman Field, Sounders won LAFC Neil.

Speaker 7

Listen, you can hear this place rocking and he can't be over stage. Just how good of a gold this was?

Speaker 9

He had everything, a powerful, strong run into the box, stayed on his feet, he dropped.

Speaker 7

The defender, cut back, but then to keep the composure to fight a board with the week of full suppost, a week of four past the goalkeeper into the back of the ned to.

Speaker 4

Give the Sounders the lead.

Speaker 7

You can see why they're very high on Colonia here. That is a fantastic goal.

Speaker 9

He could have made me fust Off the responsibility took it upon himself.

Speaker 7

Fantastic clift for finish sounds one.

Speaker 29

To a crowd on their feet, and is there on their feet. We're gonna throw it down to Michelle Luca a way to.

Speaker 25

Go and to start off his first MLS start at home with what.

Speaker 27

A beautiful goal.

Speaker 25

He's obviously no stranger to playing in front of Seattle fans and in a crowd in in Seattle as being a former U dub player picked up by the Sounders in the twenty twenty three MLS Super Draft twenty third overall pick that year. And we have to remember his epic game winner last year in the Open Cup against Phoenix Rising FC. Interestingly enough, while there wasn't really an assist on this goal that we saw here today, the assistant in that game and that epic goal was Danny Muskovski.

Speaker 27

So kind of interesting that they're both on their pitch again here today.

Speaker 25

But a huge congratulations for Kilane his first goal of the season and his first MLS start at.

Speaker 8

Home, Thanks Michelle. Yet first MLS start.

Speaker 29

Got his debut start last week against RSL played well. It's a start today because of rotation and there.

Speaker 8

Is fully earning his opportunity.

Speaker 29

Danny Leavick gets pulled down in the middle of the park by goun Saldana for LAFC.

Speaker 8

As we mentioned a couple of debutantes for lfc in.

Speaker 29

The midfield, one of the big, smaller cop on that left hand side who Clannie got the better of on that tussle inside the box.

Speaker 8

And talk about stature, sometimes its angles.

Speaker 29

It's about positioning. Klane has that low center gravity. Of course, strong powerful players. He tries to wriggle.

Speaker 8

Clear smaller cup but really just earned that opportunity to see.

Speaker 9

And it was a composer for me path run into the box and I think he may have had it the Vega Musoski that he probably could have.

Speaker 7

Laid the one off to. He chose not to win alone. And it's a composer.

Speaker 9

You can't train that. It only comes to experience in more games. He showed a lot of it. There, very very good finish.

Speaker 29

Sounders on the front foot, winning the ball inside there, attacking half of the field.

Speaker 8

It's Ferrera. Will be great to get him on the porch and get his account going for the Sounders.

Speaker 29

He's been involved in goals of course during Conker calf play, but so far not on the board. But here's Massos getting a chance up front today, ball out to the right hand side to that goal scorer Kilany.

Speaker 8

It was back to Danny Labor hardered so well with Shao Paolo.

Speaker 29

It's a week or so ago, a couple of weeks ago in CCC against Antigua, the first players get a chance to.

Speaker 8

Start together again today.

Speaker 29

Brian Schabad have talked about how much he's enjoyed watching JP and Danny Labor play together in practice.

Speaker 8

It's a nasty between both of them.

Speaker 29

And I think for any young player to be able to play alongside Shao Palo, Danny Labor's not young is of course, it's not forget he's been around the first team for a number of years now, but they don't really starting to solidify his position, especially Steve with Atensio going to Colorado gives him an additional confidence and also the opportunity to play.

Speaker 9

Yeah, I think it was a big four of confidence. He has a lot of talent that's never been a question. And get to play alongside JP. You're gonna learn the tour next time roll down when he came up, got to play a long Sanders bad Or Lands with his similar situation.

Speaker 7

And I think for John Parlow, the role he's.

Speaker 9

Taking on this season of an experience fair coming off the bench more will be a part of the rotation at times, but he's really really good in the locker room, still has the fires, still have the tenacity, and I think.

Speaker 7

He's made a great start in this game.

Speaker 9

Him and Leavor really getting on the board, dominating that midfield area where a lot of today will be one and lost because you have Colania Rothrock out wide and a sort of your playmate. Because in the central area, if they can dominate an overwhelmed NFC and really good on the board, the Sounders should be able to create tons of chances.

Speaker 29

Fifty seven percent possessions so far for the sound As the first fifteen minutes Sounders leading one goal to nil for the back of a kilany.

Speaker 8

Goal all earned by the young man. Here he goes again.

Speaker 29

Here's Karnie again covered well by Long, falling behind by Vega picked up by their sound It's thirty yards from Gold from the clearance of Hassal Labor rolls it out, sent to the far side of the right to for rare Uts clips it in towards the top corner of the six yard box, headed clear by Long, picked up by small Yer car finds or DEAs. He's had a goal and assists so far in his MLS camp as a young man. There's Jeru Manasia Rigor free earns the

foul from the referee. Almost felt like he stumbled over the ball, but looked.

Speaker 8

Up the referee.

Speaker 29

Sometimes when an Olivia Jaruro World Cup winner looks up when he's on the deck, referee's probably gonna give the foul.

Speaker 9

Yeah, he's getting that callt Klan's probably not getting that card. So it's one of those calls what you get. It could be a foul perhaps, but I think we hardly said his name, so he finally said his name and that shows that as this the first five minutes of feeling each other out.

Speaker 7

Since then he's been bore.

Speaker 9

Sound is one way traffic ANDFC can't really get food onto the game.

Speaker 7

But of course still has tons.

Speaker 29

Of here's a chance on das inside the eight and yard book tries to cut it around, strikes a good recovery.

Speaker 8

I think it was Kilana who came back.

Speaker 29

Sound has got undone by one long ball again by Tafari found your boa eventually found or Dad's supporting off that left hand side, cutting towards his right foot. Good blood by kline corner kick LFC. But see who saw it last week, no danger and all of a sudden, one ball over the top just opens up the back three.

Speaker 9

Yeah, and historically in this matchup, this sound is I've struggled against that kind of tactic.

Speaker 7

There's no bouanga, but still showing that threatened behind it. It's just one board. You've got to be able to defend.

Speaker 9

That a bit better than the Soaunders and will GETFC to kind of get a set piece off nothing. Now you've got defenders and get fruits, but you can't allow one board to kind of spit you up with so much Defensively.

Speaker 29

Del Garda with the corner gag insuing it finds Andrew Thomas punch as well out to this near SI and Andrew Thomas getting the start again today inside the sticks we'll start against Antiguer as well. So Yo Boa gives the ball off to Palencia LFC, trying to find himself back in the game, and as they build out of the back to LFC, we'll throw it down to Michelle.

Speaker 25

Well, we've already seen Andrew Thomas in twenty twenty five. This is his first MLS starts at September seventh of last year, and there he picked up the clean sheet four nil over the current reigning champions at the time of Columbus. So great to see him getting the opportunity again and the clean sheet as of.

Speaker 27

Right now, hopefully it stays thanks Michelle Yep.

Speaker 8

Thirteen clean sheets for the Sounders last year. Eleven, Fry, two, four and two.

Speaker 29

Thomas think that he earned a couple of opportunities at the beginning of the season as Stephen Fry picked up an injury early in twenty twenty four. Seph and Fry, of course, continues to be the stalwart one hundred and seventeenth clean sheet on sephro and Fry's career. In midweek against Cruisers, all continues to separate himself from Kevin Hartman at number three.

Speaker 8

Long way to go to the one hundred and fifty four of Nick Romondo.

Speaker 29

Balling behind good luck by Ferrari's rying from the LFC bench on the left unside twice to split the back three, almost found Massofts.

Speaker 8

He didn't quite make the run.

Speaker 9

Yeah, it's a good idea, but that's exactly where Farez gotta be picking up board. It's in between the lines, so behind the LFC midfield, in front of their back line. Receives the board. But the most important part is he turned and he faces the back line.

Speaker 7

Then you can dribble.

Speaker 9

Yes, options, You've got to make runs off him, because the kind of player who can't play that kind of bass didn't quite come off there.

Speaker 7

It was a very very good idea.

Speaker 29

This time reads the ball well, picks up the through ball from Alifc has the ball at his foot.

Speaker 8

Now he's going to roll it all the way back. No he doesn't.

Speaker 29

He shifts the point of attack from his near sign to the far side to Kilan. He heads it forward across the halfway line. The ball at his feet right channel finds Dela Vega just comes off that outside touchline far side sounds attack and the goal to our left. They lead here the twentieth minute at Luominfield won goal to nil, fully deserved so far dominating possession, inching towards sixty percent possession. But don't fool yourself, Lifc. Don't mind

absorbing pressure. Its being on the counter attack where Lifc is so dangerous. He seeing it a couple of times already innocuous balls from the back sounds getting caught out as the ball goes in behind, slips through the foot of Della.

Speaker 8

Vega, he closes down.

Speaker 29

See meant see if Zack Coney mentioned that Delavega feels like a new signing, he really does.

Speaker 9

And what I lack about him is we can mention what he could do on the board and start to see glimpses of that.

Speaker 7

Yes, he's got pick and chooses errors at times, but he gives you energy.

Speaker 9

He'll work off the board, he'll make runs, he'll defend as well, get back defensively, and that gives a boost to the team. And I think one from the Sounders I've done well is since scoring, they've managed that next five minutes really well. I always feel your vulnerable right after you scored. We've not seen NFC able to really make a thread in that time. Now, can you settle

the game that were twenty minutes in? Can you settle it down a bit and pick and choose your moments when to really go and then put your foot on the board and dictate the tempo.

Speaker 29

Sounds FC socket is presented by prominent Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC.

Speaker 8

As the bar goes over the top, trys the.

Speaker 29

Vandela Vega on the far side the right Assal comes out and all yellow. Today the LFC goalkeeper Thomas in that bright, fluorescent, pinky orange goalkeeping kid. I always remember the goalkeepers having all flashed jerseys and some of the old ones in the mid nineties, Steve, the Premi League we grew up, there were some horrendous.

Speaker 9

Absolutely well, I remember you're watching a ninety four World Cup pier in the US and some of those gorky jerseys, I mean, absolutely shocking.

Speaker 29

Sounders lead one nil LFC in possession with Plenty on his near side. They're right just retaining possession, going back to Tofari one of the new pickups in the off.

Speaker 8

Season for l EFC.

Speaker 29

As you mentioned two clubs who are very differing philosophers on how to build squads. LFC don't mind a carousel of players coming in and out. Sounders like stability and consistency. They are three players who came in the off season, two of them on the field today and as one of them on the field today for Era one of the mentionary owl and Kim Key he is still getting back to full fitness former Sounders player.

Speaker 8

Of course, I'm good to have him back in that.

Speaker 29

Bucket of players who Brian Schwetz can call upon, especially in this rotation. If you play a three or four, it's going to be a heavy load so far on Jackson, Reagan and Yevore, just because obviously ten year was maybe penciled into play at the back.

Speaker 8

Obviously left, as we mentioned, to go to Colorado. So Jonathan Bell knew that's kind of the four you're looking at.

Speaker 7

It is, and you're gonna need depth all over the pitch.

Speaker 9

I just thinking on the sheer number of competitions they have this season, you're gonna eat absolutely everybody.

Speaker 7

And to your point about LAFC, it's all of a weird modeling.

Speaker 9

They don't mind losing three or four starts every year, rebuilding starting from scratch. I stopped by Long Acres yesterday. I spoke with him and assistant coach Andy Rosen. He said, yeah, we were preparing for a new team every season. It feels that there's not much stability. But they're bringing three or four guys, move out three or four starts, key players,

and their level doesn't change. So that's a testament to lfc's one different models to the Sounders, but they do lose key players very more often than a lot of other big teams, but don't seem to skip a beat.

Speaker 29

Yep olive Era gone Bogus should play for Crisis all of course in midweek they'll face Bogush again on Tuesday. It sounds building on their right hand side inside the LFC half of the field with Della Vega's Danny Labor flicks the ball around the corner, finds Dela Vega tries to find and picked up well by del Gardo. I think he is that played the ball about to Hassal or tricky Hussal struggling is he shifts the ball out from a six yard books near so it sounds thrown.

Speaker 7

It's great pressure. I love that.

Speaker 9

Did the crowd gear reaction off that to defending from the front, pressurizing them, not allowing them to get out. I think when you're to hold team at times in a game like this, you do want to send that message and sometimes just off the boardwalk.

Speaker 29

Bull by Ferrera into Dela Vega tries to chase it down the LFC build out of the back down the left hand side.

Speaker 8

Is they build on the left hawnd side, we'll throw it down to Michelle.

Speaker 27

Thank you, Danny.

Speaker 25

It's been a quiet MLS start for Haesus Ferra since coming to Seattle, him saying though that he really is enjoying the way he's fitting in with this squad. Really was happy that he was able to join in the offseason when he did, to get the time with these players, his current teammates while they were in Spain.

Speaker 27

And specifically how excited he is to be in Seattle. But what a big step it was for him moving here.

Speaker 25

That he'd lived in Dallas his entire life, so this is the first time he's ever lived away from home. That people warned him about coming to rainy Seattle, and surprisingly enough, he says he's really enjoying the rain and he is glad to get away from one hundred degree plus weather.

Speaker 27

So maybe hisss for is a Seattle knight at heart after all.

Speaker 8

Thanks Michelle. Yeah, ball came in.

Speaker 29

It's gonna be the LFC corner kick towards another man who's trying to find.

Speaker 8

His feet for his new club. Olivia Jeru came in last year.

Speaker 29

He was a scored in the regular season for l EFC, Yet what was penciled into be a sure fire starter, he's now coming off the bench.

Speaker 8

Moreso than not.

Speaker 29

As the ball comes in in swing er by the corner kick headed up in the air by Reagan towards Tafari, picked up well by Danny Labor flicks it a the top his goalscorre Klanis wriggles free of del Garda, the experienced Mles midfield player wall score Klanni, he's possession fine del veg across the half way line.

Speaker 8

There's near sight the left, there's Varrera.

Speaker 29

Just as Michelle talks about trying to find his way here in Seattle, slightly bigger market. Of course, he just said fifty three goals, thirty four assists in one hundred and sixty three games for Dallas before making.

Speaker 8

His way to the Pacific Northwest.

Speaker 29

And Steve, sometimes you just need a change of scenery to really kind of reignite your career as a young player.

Speaker 8

Still lots of time in front of him.

Speaker 9

Yeah, and that's what it felt like for him, just needed a change. I mean, he's very very young, so he could be here, you know, another ten year, stays healthy, he can have a very long sen Son sounder's career. But I think Michelle, who did to it, you kind of want to get him off the border. God would do him, wonders, and he's moving over the pitch trying to find the board. He's getting on the board, but just get closer to the box. A couple of attempts at ball. You sometimes you want to.

Speaker 7

See that as an attacking player, see one hit the back of the net, and then your career is really off and running.

Speaker 8

Here in Seattle, here's your Boa picking up the ball on this near side.

Speaker 29

The LFC right goes back to Tafari slows the game down into zel Danna to del Gardo, all working from right to left now with Ordas fins small a coffee just lets the ball roll under his foot, allows Klane to close the.

Speaker 8

Ball downt near that corner.

Speaker 29

Flag on the far side, southeast corner ball square to zel dan As sound As eleven men behind the ball Withsaskal just trailing up too long.

Speaker 8

Who's the lone man.

Speaker 29

Back there for LAFC top of the box of Delgado inside to Ordas cleared by Yama. No messing around there by the big sound Es central defender gets his big old left foot behind it goes out on the.

Speaker 8

Far side for an LFC throw.

Speaker 9

NFC enjoined their best bill now sustained possession sort of pin in the Sounders back in their own box. And this is gonna happen no matter how well you play, how much posi you want to have against a team that maybe doesn't want the board, there will be moments, so you have to defend off the board.

Speaker 7

The sound of shape and the moment really good bending, definitely.

Speaker 9

Not breaking and making it hard for NFC to play through them and penetrate the lines.

Speaker 7

But it's a lot of work off the board. At some point you.

Speaker 9

Want to win the border, release some of that pressure and I have your defenders chasing all over the But that's the first or spell we've seen some sustained pressure from LAFC.

Speaker 7

But the Sounders defended role didn't create any gors green chances.

Speaker 29

Well, this copyrighting audio casts of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast. Would have the express written consent of Major League Soccer if we ticked towards the thirty minute mark. Here at lumen Field Sports Radio ninety three point three KGr FM, Sounders leading one goal to nil the back of a early Kailani Coosa Rienzi goal in the eleventh minute his first start as a

Sounders player in MLS here at lumen Field. Got his debut start last week against RSL gets his first MLS goal for his club. To mention product Tacoma Defiant scored a goal last year in the US Open Cup. There he is now with the ball at his feet, goes out to the far side of the right too. De la Vega tries to slip the ball in picked up

by Zagura. It used to be an anchor in the squad for LAFC, not getting the starts he would like, I'm sure struggled just a couple of years ago with an ecl injury, but it's been retained by Tarundelo and his squad.

Speaker 8

John Thorrington like what he sees as a leader in the locker room as much as on the field.

Speaker 29

He has the ball in his hands on the far side, throws the ball down the line headed down by Klan. He picked up by Danny Labor to Ferrera twenty five yards from Gold just to flick it to the boards. This near side too, Rothrock picked up well by Palencia, the experience right sided player for LAFC.

Speaker 8

Zel Dana to Tafari all the way back to Hassal.

Speaker 20

A.

Speaker 29

LFC build in their defensive third of the field a little bit higher, pressed from Sounders now as they try to win the ball high up towards their goal, but built down well by LAFC finds the ball to the foot of Ordez on the far side to Delgado running behind by the Sounders, and that is Nathan Ordez is gonna be tracked by Jackson Reagan left corner of the eighteen yard box.

Speaker 8

Clipped it in easily collected by Andrew Thomas. Crowd like that quells the pressure from MELIFC rolled it down to this near.

Speaker 29

Side to Paul Rothrock, drives forward ball at his feet, flicks it to Ferrera as l EFC worked their way back.

Speaker 8

Behind the ball, Sounders just put their foot on it with JP, who finds now.

Speaker 29

Farrara and twenty five yards from gold left of center to Paul Rothrock, who gets knocked down by Tafari too easily liking if I'm sure Brian Schmidzer just to contained his footing there's Rothrock comes down, Referee, but sure if that's the fell on JP, you kind of copper ball, let it go and then let's it go there's a been confusion for both both.

Speaker 8

Coloitators up here and then both sets of players down there.

Speaker 7

Though I'm gonna have been a far if he's saying, Assen, you're gonna go.

Speaker 9

On the same wolf ways a Counterlinia game, then bored for it of course, and then the game floor. But I think one for the sound is half done road. It's not Ques that it's all Bet and Christian Rodin the two starting fielder is that's the key up job

Polo Danielee. But when they do give you is so much technical ability aside from their vicist and tenacity what they do on the board and the possession has been very good because of that, and they're really dominating that midfielding allow and it sounds guys to get on the board.

Speaker 7

But Reagan kicks the pull out here. I'm not sure.

Speaker 9

I think JP so of indicating he may have had an issue, but he seems to be okay. Oh It'stead a Vega.

Speaker 7

He's not done.

Speaker 8

Well, that's not good. Sorry for sounders. And as Dela Vega sits on the deck.

Speaker 7

Yeah, it looks at Albert. Yeah that's not good.

Speaker 8

It's like Albert's gonna get stripped off. We're gonna throw it down to Michelle.

Speaker 25

Yes, a lot of commotion just happening on the bench right now. Is still unclear if if it's Da la Vega or JP that are coming off the pitch. It looks like it's de la Vega actually now that is being directed off the pitch. There was some commotion with the coaching staff of them trying to coordinate with the players on the field to kick the ball out as they hurdly made the decision to bring in Albert Rusnak, who's now on the sideline getting ready to come in.

De la Vega still has not come off the pitch. He's currently sitting on the ground being looked that by the medical staff. I did not see myself, Danny Steve. I'm not sure if you were able to see anything. It looks, my guess, would be a non contact injury. They're looking at his right leg right now, proceeding to like massage around the knee, So I don't know if you guys.

Speaker 27

Are able to see a thing from your review.

Speaker 29

Yeah, they're doing the old ACL PCL MCL test right now, just to twist that knee. As we look down down on our monitor.

Speaker 9

Yeah, didn't see anything. There was some concern and confusion too, because he was still moving, as was JP, who's the one that actually did get hit in a contact tackle. But the moment Petro sat down and I think we're seeing a replay of where it may have occurred. I mean, there's not much in that replay there received the ball with his back to goldt a bit of pressure Grimace is a tiny bit.

Speaker 7

As he takes a step there, he won't be able to continue.

Speaker 9

Dela Vega's walking off the pitch looks like Albert will be coming on and that's that's disappointing because not only has he made a good start to the game, today's made a good start to the season. So the first thing is you hope it's not serious precaution long season ahead, and he's just been smart to can carry his body walks off under his own power.

Speaker 7

That's a good sign.

Speaker 9

But I couldn't see anything that could give us an idea of what Mailber could.

Speaker 29

Yep, but when I did my AICL twice, both were non contact off the ball, just you twisted, but there was an immediate impact and you could see it and you went down. So the fact that he was able to walk off. That's good news for the Sounders. Of course, love to see him be ready for Tuesday. Got the start against Cruises all midweek start today. It's been a

really bright start to his twenty twenty five season. Solid in pre season with four goals to Galla Vega of course, has added to that during Conker caff play as well, Sounders building his left hand side as the crowd start to get into it. Thirty third minute here at Lumenfield, Sounders leading one goal to nil as they build out of the back.

Speaker 8

As the Sounders trying to make their final tweaks to who is gonna come on?

Speaker 29

And it's gonna be Albert Rusneck. It's getting final instructions from the coaching staff. We'll go squear into labor good play, a way for pressure with Danny Massosi gets clipped by del Garaba, keeps on going.

Speaker 8

Referee give the advantage. Then Massoski goes down and it will look like a pretty fair challenge.

Speaker 29

Three length things go another LAFC player on the deck.

Sounders keep going full at the foot of Rothrock. There's nearside the left challenged by Palencia comes off that left sideline to Ferrera to Jonathan Bell, splits the line well to Massosky, a nice ball into Danny Labor top of the box looking for a place to shoot, or as it's square to Kalani goalscorer for the Sounders to JP quickly out to Labor who has spun out to that far side the right to Yeay mark Sounders possessing the ball well fifty eight percent possession so far for the

sound There's only one shot on goal for the Sounders, but that one shot.

Speaker 8

Equate it to a goal. They need one goal to Nill.

Speaker 9

Lots to lack about what it sounds I've done getting on the board dominating.

Speaker 7

I've mentioned moments ago.

Speaker 9

He's been fantastic and I think the amount of times you've found passes through the lines Denevega when he was on, particularly to Ferrera. He's the one who's really benefited from those passes in between the lines. It's been very good, but you want to generate more dangerous looks at Gold.

Speaker 7

One shot on Gold not enough foot the map prosession you've had.

Speaker 29

All shifted from JP to the fast side, headed up and away by Palencia. Be able to chase after that header saves the ball finds the foot of your Boa holds the ball, well finds zeal Dana who rolls it inside the eighteen yard box to long Of course, as we mentioned early in the broadcast.

Speaker 8

Four clean sheets at last four games.

Speaker 29

For LAFC, sounds are broken there here the eleventh minute with that kilany goal. So whereas LFC always so dynamic in the attacking third of the field, they have been so far in the season as well.

Speaker 8

Three goals and they'll win lead.

Speaker 29

They take into Columbus in the next game of a two game series in conquer cav but defensively looking solid as well. Two one nil wins at MLS so far.

Speaker 7

Yeah, this game very much is a measuristic game. It could be early in the season.

Speaker 9

Yes, there is rotation, yes, but this is one of the teams that you expect to be there and thereabouts in every competition.

Speaker 7

Conker caf MLS. Absolutely.

Speaker 9

We saw that last season. We've seen that throughout their existence, and so do you want to get an early idea of where you may stack up where you are There's.

Speaker 7

A few better opponents to go up against the NAFC, and we've seen that.

Speaker 9

No, they they don't have the threat that they normally have with a banker for example, maybe even a barber see this season.

Speaker 7

But there's still tons of quality from his team, very well organized, world drilled.

Speaker 8

Finally, Rouzenek comes on and felt like an age. You were standing on the sidelines, Bore hadn't gone out of play.

Speaker 29

Now it is Russnek who's gonna come on for Della Vega. We're looking down from our perch up here in the west. Stand down onto the dugoutsos like Dalla Vega, we'll still be set there.

Speaker 8

I didn't see him going to the tunnel.

Speaker 7

No, I think he's in a bit, which is a good sign as well.

Speaker 8

Or coming in from the corner. Kick now punch clip by Andrew Thomas.

Speaker 29

Good pudge forty yards out of his six yard box allows the Sounders to push all the way outside their eighteen yard box. The LFC had possession inside the Sounders half of the field far side the left with del guard Who's gonna click the ball towards the far side as Danny Labor goes up, wins the ball off to far him. But it's gonna be another corner kicked for LAFC set pieces. Maybe that's where LFC is gonna be able to sneak a doll. They have some height and size, Aaron long kne adress in.

Speaker 8

The eight yard box and set pieces to fari So a big strong player. See who's down. There's Liviya Cheru.

Speaker 29

It's like it maybe got a stud down the inside of his ankle, living of blood potentially coming through.

Speaker 8

That white sock of his. He's watching warmups.

Speaker 29

He also got a nick in a obviously he was struggling with as the ball does come in towards the fast stick or bounced around, not clacked it by Andrew Thomas got on the line and then bundled in by our dairs.

Speaker 8

And the referee is gonna give the goal. That is another preventable.

Speaker 29

Goal from the Sounders giving up this season was Andrew Thomas so flapped at it more bounced around.

Speaker 8

Sounders weren't able to clean it up and it's.

Speaker 29

Names and orders against his second goal of his MLS campaign. Tie things up here at Luminfield, Well, that speaks to two of my piece in the game there.

Speaker 9

It was set piece defending and cut out individual errors and both of them sort of happened there. It was we're watching the board into the box here, this decent amount of runner sound is in a good structure. Andrew Thomas comes gets quarts in Norman Land a little bit there. It's a good old fashioned gold and scramble and then FC the white shirt is quickly to react. But I think if Sounders again there, you gotta be answered the question could you have prevented that gold? And the answer

is yes, and so every gold conceded. So for an MNS this season, it's been extremely preventable. And that's got to be driving a court to start praising the Sounders, allow Eli's to crawl away back.

Speaker 7

One one.

Speaker 29

Sounders getting this game kicked off and looking down right now, Brian Schwetz is just gesting to his assistant.

Speaker 8

Coaches down there through the through the class.

Speaker 29

Sure of frustration is just seething out of him right now, especially so late to this first half, thirty ninth minute one to one sounds, I have had the majority of the play and LEFC, I've had a couple of opportunities being mentioned just a moment or so before that goal was set piece is going to be the place where LFC we was going to find They're way back into the game and fortunately for the Sounders.

Speaker 8

It was that case. Now they've got to find a way back into it. Of course, Sounders do have firepower coming off.

Speaker 29

The bench and the likes of Jordan Morris sitting on eighty six or comp goals even with Ruy Diez, is he going to find a way onto the or today and an opportunity to potentially break that record and become the top goal scorer for the Sounders.

Speaker 8

Wouldn't that be a great way to do it against LFC, which.

Speaker 29

During the career of Jordan Morris has been really the team that had been the most competitive for the Sounders the course in the last eight years or so.

Speaker 8

It sounds we have to build again, this time with John flin Bell's.

Speaker 29

Gonna clip it down line, drives it down the line that's down this left hand side.

Speaker 8

It's gonna skip all the way through over the end line.

Speaker 29

It's gonna be a goalkick for LFC here in the fortieth minute one one.

Speaker 9

Yeah, I think, as I mentioned before, when a Sounder scored, these next five minutes will be key.

Speaker 7

NFC have just scored and they have a.

Speaker 9

Bit vulnerable and this next five minutes probably takes us right up towards halftime depending on how much time handing up. If you're a Sounder, just need don't be of a spark gone into a bit of a loud LFC was done to get find their moments, find their pockets again. It was a very poor bowl to concede, So I have a little bit of a gift to LFC with that defending.

Speaker 7

But the sound is a form.

Speaker 9

But twenty minutes of this game, minutes twenty fifth minute were really really good and then a Vega substitution from injury not helpful. Russnak yet to.

Speaker 7

Find a game, So can you just kind of get the playmakers back on the.

Speaker 9

Board and make thing's happening before halftime with AFC seeing a little bit comfortable right now in the last ten minutes or so.

Speaker 8

Well.

Speaker 29

March is Women's History Month to support women own small businesses.

Speaker 8

During the month of March. For a chance to win sounders.

Speaker 29

FC prizes, visit potentialist dot com to find a business near you, or roth Rock tries to wriggle free. Can't quite get around Polentia does a good job. Does the l EFC right sided player just to ship the ball over the end line. It's gonna be a goalkick for LFC. You can hear five minutes to the end of this first half one one supports Radio ninety.

Speaker 8

Three point three KGr FM. Perfect day for soccer up.

Speaker 29

As fifty is here in downtown Sea Apple full house again at lumen Field again marquee matchup in MLS as this game now LFC Sounders so much success. Those two teams have got more success since LAFC came into the league.

Speaker 8

Let's not forget lafc's.

Speaker 29

First ever game as a franchise was here at lumen Field opening the other season. It was a certain Rossie who scored that goal in the first half to win that game one goal to nil on the foot of Jheru of the half way line, just spins away from Jackson.

Speaker 8

Reagan plays at square far side.

Speaker 29

The left is Segura LFC playing in a back three today matching up to Sounders back three makeup.

Speaker 8

Long clips it from center to far side.

Speaker 29

The left finds Smoldyakov Cranian player think their Premier league for a year and a half before coming to Southern California in the off season as del Cardho.

Speaker 8

It goes free.

Speaker 29

Maintains possession through LAFC closed down world by klae on smaller Koff knocks it out of bound's gonna be thrown on the far side, the left. So when I ask the obvious question here, Steve brish Retzer, obviously gon be seeing because of the goal and the nature of the goal, But what do you make of the first half other than that goal in that mistake you make of it so far the first.

Speaker 9

Half of the saund though for large parts when they played at tempo, the sounds are very good avon JP wire. When you Controy in the midfield, there was a good defensive pressure. Anytime the ball was lost, Pega was active, Perrero was finding himself in between the lines.

Speaker 7

Kind of got away from that.

Speaker 9

Maybe it began even with the defensive pressure when LFC were able to build out of the back, established possession, establishing identity when early in the game to a rush, and will make the mistakes. And I think the last fifty minutes hasn't looked like it did the first thirty minutes, so you've got to get your way back to that energy.

Of course, the Patro injury and disruptive things as well, but I think the Sounder just played well the first thirty minutes from an energy on side of the board and that sort of died down and kind of been a loud which is suiting LAFC a lot more.

Speaker 7

The final fifteen minutes that we've seen.

Speaker 29

Yet, lots of the play between the eight and yard boxes. Not much to talk about it in terms of shots on goal for either team really. Sounders have it inside the attacking half of the field and picked off by goalscorer Daz of GP's foot.

Speaker 9

And then as a perfect example, the JP lost the board early in the game, three four guys with pressure right away. It was Musoski by himself. Do you have one guy running the other guys drop it back? Not on the same page there defensively and if you when the Sounds are at their best you lose the board, you go hunting for it right away. So maybe just make it a half time. That's definitely gonna be a message from the courting staff. You have to be very

good in transition defending. Don't allow this team, even if they're rotating players, to get on the board and get comfortable because they can't punish you.

Speaker 29

As we've seen one win of last eleven regular season games against LAFC Sounders would love to get three points, get their first win of their campaign under their belt against LAFC.

Speaker 8

We are thorn in the side of the Sounders, especially last year.

Speaker 29

Five games played between these two teams last year, four games when lafc's benefit one with the Sounders ten Leaver tries to slip it through Parrera was in behind clear and couldn't make the connecting pass, and Smolyakov clips the ball into the center towards Jeru, cleared by Reagan and.

Speaker 8

Then gave are pushing the back by long. It's gonna be the assistant referees flag.

Speaker 29

It's gonna be the off side on Mussovski's he came back from an offside position. But Discount Tire get thirty percent sure to average weight time when you buy a book online at discount tire dot com. Final thirty seconds of the forty five look down on the fourth official.

Speaker 8

What kind of time he's going to put on the board. I think a note in my ear from.

Speaker 29

Kay Dunning that it's gonna be three minutes from the fourth official. We've been a time out of for Della Vegan.

Speaker 14

You Shuaru.

Speaker 8

All bouncing around, cleared by the Sounders. Crowd light that him's not messing around on his clearances.

Speaker 29

All the Sounders have been done on a misclearance by Reagan against Charlotte and that final minute or two giving up that equalizing gold at the very end, there's just smoly Cough down the left has a good step by Klar. He just held his ground, stuck out his left foot, won the ball. Thrower back to help referee gives a foul. Smollercough aren't for for Rara deep Sounders right hand side and that's exactly what Bryce Schebts will like as Amos shifts the ball from right to left.

Speaker 9

Yeah, and I think, just to add to my answer to your question, than he did by the first half, I think the Sounders having generated enough chances for the amount of possession they did enjoy. I haven't worked the Gorge Vark have already seen Avondrong stretch and the other defenders there. I think that's one disappointment where it's been in the first two thirds, but not enough punch in

that fire. Third, of course, you have the resources and players on the bench you can bring on to change the game, and that's one of the good things about his strength and death we spent so much time talking about this season already.

Speaker 29

Yeah, I'm sure the guys at half time. Don't leave us at half time Jackson, Pete Kellen, We'll be back to break it all down. A couple of goals to speak about Sounders looking comfortable possession in large spells, but really tested the second.

Speaker 8

String goalie Hassal enough, especially at home.

Speaker 29

The possession is one thing, but with some penetration the final third, which is of course what the Sounders have built on throughout the off season of preseason acquisitions in Ferrera Ariola. To add to that, it's been the case all goes down the line. Can they find something in these final minutes?

Speaker 8

What's off the third of Segura by Kilane.

Speaker 29

It's going to be a corner kick here ninety seconds or so to go over the three minutes of added time. Here at the end of this first half, Sounders have a corner kick on their right hand side, gonna be Ferrera with Rosneck on.

Speaker 8

The field to see Ferrara still has the ball on his hands.

Speaker 29

It's gonna be an outswinger with his right foot. Rosnick sitting just outside the d on the top of the box. Roth Rock to his left rosneck's head. Center all comes in headed up in a way by Long and then put clear by Yo Boa.

Speaker 8

We picked up my Danny Labor fast side the right to jam Paulo. Sounders have just under a minute to find a little breakthrough it can they find.

Speaker 29

That second goal? Put them into the locker room. A halftime up, GP has a center, the park goes farst side the right to Ferrera.

Speaker 8

Still hanging out there. Ball goes a good little ball. It was Massasage a little on his heels, couldn't find the ball cleared by.

Speaker 29

Elis foot of del Gado rolls it back to Sigura to get here in these final seconds, and she met some surety.

Speaker 8

Grabbing his jacket down below, ready.

Speaker 29

To march off the field, and sure's enough, some choice worse to his team at halftime. Sometimes that the layout these games where you give up the goal towards the end of the first half, changes the dynamics of course in the lockerroom, but also maybe the type of subse can make me.

Speaker 8

Into the second half.

Speaker 7

Yeah, absolutely doesn't.

Speaker 9

Just with that, because what's in a half time we survive thing for the Sounders looks to like in that half, especially early on just lost their weight.

Speaker 7

Thus they win, and it was.

Speaker 9

More the intensity that they had early on. It just kind of went on both sides of the board. You definitely want to get back to that. But thus the play for both teams have firepower under bench. The game's weel points out one one.

Speaker 29

Sounders took the lead in the eleventh minute, a first MLS goal for Klane Kosa Rienzi in the eleventh minute, and then it was a goal by Nathan Nordaz his second goal of his season in the thirteenth minute that drew LAFC to a one to one tie going into the halftime. But don't leave us, We'll take a short break, Jackson felt Kellen rope fume we'll be back to break it all down halftime here at Lumenfield.

Speaker 8

It Sounders one.

Madison was coming back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.

Speaker 2

Welcome into the halftime show, Jackson Phelips, calen Roe, Pete Fewing here to break down the first forty five minutes where it is one to one between the Sounders and LAFC. Clear that Sounder's EPs Socker is presented by Providence, Swedish

official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. First goal for the Sounders scored in the eleventh minute when Haesus Ferira had a long ball to Kolonie Koza, Rienzi and the man from the University of Washington took a turn took a touch put it in the back of the net to give the Sounders an early one to nothing lead. Then we saw this match get it into the thirties where Pedro de la Vega went down. We can report from Michelle ludcom as sideline what she saw that Pedro de

Levega is icing his right thigh. He did not go into the locker room for treatment, so if you'd want to read into anything, he didn't have to go in. So there's that. But we have no further uninformation or update on payd Levega other than what we saw, which is that he is icing that right thigh.

Speaker 3

After he went down.

Speaker 2

Albert Rusnak came on lafc scored a goal off a corner kick that eventually went in after a kind of a mess in front of goal that made the game one to one.

Speaker 3

Callen opening thoughts on the first forty five minutes.

Speaker 4

I thought it was a good forty five minutes for the Sounder, well, a good thirty five minutes for the Sounders. They started off hot, Colonie were getting a great goal in Jesus Ferrera, finding that he is the assisting guy on this team. Already three assists this season in just what six games, so he's done very good job. We talked about him maybe not clicking with the team, and he's shown himself that yes I am. I know where my players need the ball, and I put it right

where they wanted. And obviously a great play from Klanie. I'm looking at Jonathan Bell though, playing a good game. Jackson Reagan playing a good game. The Emigrants. I've not really given them anything on the defensive on the defensive side, so I think that's a very big positive. Those last five to ten minutes are where the Sounders have struggled.

Speaker 5

We've seen it in the end of games. Now we're seeing it at the end of the first half. They need to clean things up.

Speaker 6

A little bit of a switch off on the goal. But let's go back the goal against us. Let's go back to that first goal. What a great bit of effort we want. We said that at the beginning, we need somebody to step up and make a play. Good ball in uh from Pedro and then e excuse me from hayesus and then colony. Wow, he did such a

great job. Turned the corner inside the box. It was big versus little, but he got he got the right positioning, got inside and then the composure I wrote down speed, strength, composure, clinical finish. I mean that for a guy starting his second MLS game to turn like that and then find the side netting on the far post, it was a great goal. The thing that is disappointing on the goal

against US, it's a corner kick. We gave up one against Charlotte, similar same end, same area right where we just we've got to get that thing out and we switched off. So now we've given up three goals on restarts against US. That's gonna be something that Brian and his staff are going to be a bit concerned about. I like the way they played it. I will say this, if you said to Brian Schmitzer yesterday after hearing the lineup, would you be happy with one one against LAFC at halftime?

He take it and our beach.

Speaker 8

So I liked what they did.

Speaker 6

They've just got to get back now. Now he's got what a bench, So he's got options.

Speaker 2

What a bench for LAFC too. We'll get into that here in the second part of our halftime show. Well ninety five calories. Will Michel of Ultra excuse me, ninety five calories and two point six grams of carbs.

Speaker 1

Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 2

Welcome back to the halftime show from Woomenfield, where you're Seattle Sounder's equal with LAFC at one one here at the half. By the way, we can give official word that we have gotten word and can report that is a right quad injury for Pedro dala Vega, a right quad injury. He came off in about the thirty fifth

minute and Albert Rusnak now on for him. Although less copyrighted audio cast from Major League Soccer, I'll be retransmitted to reproduce or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. All right, Callan Pete won one game right now. Brian Schitzer good five power on the bench, so does Chief Steve Schrandelo for LFC. Both teams are gonna be able to make big offensive changes here in the second half.

Speaker 3

Yes, but with the quality.

Speaker 5

That's happening right now.

Speaker 4

And like I said, besides, those last five ten minutes for the Seattle Sounders was a good half of them.

Speaker 5

Can can Brian Smetzer get more out of.

Speaker 4

These guys on the field now and save those legs the starter players, which we know the starting players on the bench right now? Can you give Jordan Morris a little bit more of arrest at alberts hold On and knew who can you give those guys a little bit longer on the bench.

Speaker 5

That way, they are very fresh. On Wednesday, I completely.

Speaker 6

Agree with that. Yesterday Brian said, hey, you might see subs. He was kinda laughing, you know, saying, hey, you might see subs in the forty fifth minute that halftime, because if we're struggling, I'm gonna pull the trigger. I don't think they're struggling at all. I think he's gonna reward them for a very good first half and let him keep going and to your point, killing try to save those legs. But this team's done really well. I wonder

Kell and you would know this. Are you happy with a one one tie in this situation?

Speaker 4

You're disappointed because the way the goal was scored and when the news lead, But yeah, you're you're happy with it and all the coaching to have, but players included. I mean, the possession was in the Sounders favor, which we knew would happen against LAFC. But for me is quality of play and there's no threat anywhere for me besides that corner kick that ended up in the goal.

Speaker 2

Yeah, well, we will be back for the postgame show. Danny Jackson, Steve Zachawanni Michelle Luck on the sideline. They will have the second half of a one to one game between the Sounders and LAFC. Second half kicks off next on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 1

Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr.

Speaker 29

FM, Welcome back Sounders fans to equc Pitch at Luminfield. As postsets of players slowly make their way out of the tunnel, we're seeing a little bit of action on the sound as bench show will give it a minute or two to confirm, but I think we see Jordan Morris getting ready to come on the field, and so it looks like LAFC gonna make a real handful of changes. Get to those changes in a minute. But it was an eleventh minute goal by Kerlanney, his first MLS goal in his first home.

Speaker 8

Start for the Sounders, and MLS for the Sounders on the board early and then it was.

Speaker 29

A bit of a flap from Andrew Thomas, which is not like hymns usually so dependable in the goal when he steps in for seven. Fright allowed Ordaz to nip in inside the six yard box and put a ball in the empty goal to tie things up in the thirty eighth minute. Sounders had to make a change in that first half. Albert Roznak came off the bench early. Whether that was a change that was going to happen at some point in the second half anyhow, with Tuesday night coming up down in Mexico against Cruizers.

Speaker 8

All but for the Sounders they had to make that change. Pegga de la Vega.

Speaker 29

Went off and we see now Jordan Morris coming on the field for Danny Musowski. He's meant, that's a lightful like change, so let's get you the eleven for the Sounders coming out in the second half, Andrew Thomas and goal a back three of Yamar Reagan and Jonathan Bell midfield of Kilanney on that right, Rothrock on the left, Danny Labor, jb anchoring the center of the park in front of that back three and Jesus Ferrera Albert Rozneck

are now Jordan Morris up front. Forty five minutes for Jordan to get his eighty seventh goal, which would put in top of the pile for the Sounders as Egos, he goes down their right hand side early as the Sounders get us kicked off. They're in their new Salish Sea kin attacking the goal to our right, kind of a blender blue aqua and Forrest green. Really good looking kit for the Sounders was introduced this year and then

for LAFC, handful of changes for them. We're gonna wrap our arms around those changes.

Speaker 8

They're attacking the goal to our left, the north end, all in white afternoon.

Speaker 29

As the ball goes down the right inside to Kilaney to Ferrara in the Sounders get off to a good hot start here in the second half.

Speaker 8

Finds itself to JP.

Speaker 29

And of course it was a quick start for the Sounders against Charlotte in the second half where Jordan Morris did get a goal in the early minutes of that second half to put the Sounders up. Here's Kilaney, it's flicking the ball outside to Yeamar. I know Michelle Ludker has had a chance to speak to Brian Schwitz. We'll get to Michelle just a moment or so to get his thoughts. But Steve disappointing going to halftime the way, the manner in which the Sounders gave up that goal.

Speaker 8

And we'll get to your comments and thoughts in a minute.

Speaker 29

But the Sounders on his right hand side, right corner of the box to Colaney, overlapping run by Jordan Morris, picks it.

Speaker 8

Up ten or to open the end light. It clips it down towards the end light hugged in by Ferrara. So play down the far side to.

Speaker 29

See that the ball gets cliped by JP, bundled over as roth Rock is that brusneck on the ground slow to get up the ground as Bryanch.

Speaker 8

Benzer gets to his feet.

Speaker 9

Yeah, but I think to your question, Daniel, I think it sounds it was the nature of the goal, the way they gave up that goal. It's a bit of a soft goal, which we've kind of seen as a trend so far this season. And just looking at the replay here for what happened to Albert Russknack, he flicks the ball and yeah, he's clattered into There will be nothing seriously up on his feet now. And I felt that the game leedy Jordan Morris. This was a game that needed a different threat up front. There was no

in behind Fred and Jordan Morris. That's not all he gives you, but he does give you a lot of that, and I felt that this game needed that. So I was not surprised to see the change happen. Maybe as halftime. I thought they might give myself skin up a five to.

Speaker 7

Ten minutes or so.

Speaker 9

But something had to change because it sounds want to get back to sort of the high energy they played that first thirty minutes worth.

Speaker 8

That's Marlon one of the changes for LAFC.

Speaker 29

The ball gets hooked down the line by sigurk On by Jeruta or Daz who's just nicked off the ball by Yemar. Jonathan Belliot closed down quickly by your bar gets knocked off the ball.

Speaker 8

Here come LAFC in.

Speaker 29

Transition or Dare's goalscorer on the left hand side rolls it in to Heesus. One of the substitutes gets his pocket picked by the sound as of Jordan Morris drives forward, nothing in front of him, has to go back, cuts away from Segura, comes back to JP sort of slow the game down and all goes down the right hand side.

We'll get to Michelle and Kurt just a moment as the sounder start to build from the back and as they put their foot in the ball and slowly move away from center to left, we'll throw it down to Michelle.

Speaker 25

We love and it's a good sign when you guys don't have time to pass it down to me because there's action going on on the field.

Speaker 29

Danny, Yeah, we'll throat back down to Michelle. As Hassal comes sliding out the LFC.

Speaker 8

Goalkeeper ball in his hands, will throw back down to you, Michelle.

Speaker 25

To answer Steve's question about the substitution at halftime, Brian Schmenzer telling me that Danny Muskowsky has played a great game. The substitution was no reflection of what he was playing whatsoever, but rather that they had to make it at halftime because.

Speaker 27

They like to sub because of the Dalla Vega injury.

Speaker 25

Now, and speaking about the da la Vega injury, I did hear from the coach of Squats staff.

Speaker 27

It is being described right now as a right quad injury.

Speaker 25

They're hoping to have more of an update post match, but right now it's just being designated as.

Speaker 27

A right quad injury overall.

Speaker 25

Brian Schmetzer telling me he's fairly pleased with how his team played in the first half. He'd like to see some more chances created. There were too many half chances, he said. The point of emphasis in the locker room was really just re hitting and revisiting some of the things that they really worked on in pre season, reminding this team what they need to do to get those opportunities and to be able.

Speaker 27

To capitalize on it.

Speaker 25

As for those substitutions, as we're watching the minutes of a lot of these players, Brian Schmetzer tells me there are some planned substitutions coming a little bit later in the half, so we should watch for that.

Speaker 8

Thanks Michelle.

Speaker 29

Let's get you the LAFC line up, some three changes coming in a half time, the solid goal in full Hugo Larie today. Marlon the big central defender from Brazil comes on the field for Aaron Long.

Speaker 8

You'll play the back three opsites Gura and Tafari.

Speaker 29

Ryan's hollings Head comes on the right hand side for Valencia.

Speaker 8

Saldana. Hey Zeus comes on for del Garda, probably resting del Garda for.

Speaker 29

Their midweek game against Columbus their second leg game down in Columbus and conker Caaf.

Speaker 8

He plays in the center of the park and then.

Speaker 29

Smolyyakov on the left hand side, and then the same attacking three of Yaboa, Jeru and Ordez. Brad Evans was speaking to his key to the game and breakdown of LFC and Ryan hollins Head was the sneaky pick of a player that they had to watch out for because he has scored on a number of occasions against the Sounders coming off that right hand side. I believe one time he came off that left hand side here at lumin Field and just snuck it into the back of

the goal. You mention one win out of the last eleven regular season games for the Sounders against LFC, so another bit between their teeth as they have the ball now in possession with Farrera acrossing the halfway line. It's near side the right Danny Labor making a run forward for her and nothing forward has to go back. JP striggles free of Hayes, who's big, powerful player in the

middle of the park. Another Brazilian player alongside the Barlin was JP rolls in square to Jonathan Bell getting involved, rolls it out to the left hand side to Paul roth Rock cuts forward past collins Head and it's over the end line for an early corner kick. Here five minutes or so gone in the second half. One one between the Sounders and LAFC. ST's Equani when I was.

Speaker 9

Really good from the Sounder is very patient build up JP and a harbit. Oh, he's putting the strings in there. Found Ross Frock iscolated one if you want, and it's all you can do. As a week I take him down the line. I'd very least try to win something gets a set piece ANDFC I've benefited from one and the sound is repaid a favor.

Speaker 29

Albert Rosnet one up in the air, rips it in head and he clips away as a chance and the bed post spring and then popped up in the air by Yea. I was a flick on that Narl post. I think from a LAFC player just caught breaking off God managed to head the ball, could get it on target, finds the hands of Haasal in the LAFC goal.

Speaker 7

It's a good balling.

Speaker 9

I think it takes a flick that catches Reagan off bar and even just is too high or it comes too fast, maybe a combination of both them.

Speaker 7

For Jackson, Reagan back look at a great chance because the.

Speaker 9

Goal was wide up and had he been able to direct any kind of real contact on it.

Speaker 8

When a chance goes back, Coloney called for the free kick on Spolia. Coffee was the two players that came together for Colony's goal. Coloney got the better of him that time. This time it's a foul called on Coloney.

Speaker 29

Or gets headed forward by Jeru Cushion head about Yama all the way back to.

Speaker 8

Andrew Thomas in the Sounders goal. Menchard Sounders on the road tomorrow.

Speaker 29

They'll jump on a flight to head down south to Mexico to Mexico City where they'll play Cruisers, all who are actually homeless right now stadium wise, so the Sounders will play play in familiar surroundings. They'll play it the Puma Stadium of course, the opponent in the twenty twenty two final where the Sounders went down.

Speaker 8

To Mexico in that first leg tied to two back of a.

Speaker 29

Couple of really important goals like Ladera and the ball gets flipped forward, and then Salmon's course came in dominant fashion, won three nil in the final five to two and aggregant to get the Sounders and MLS's verse CONCACAFT Champions Cup victory.

Speaker 9

One of the issues with the shape right now in the second half is Ferrero's playing almost two way.

Speaker 7

He's hugging his touch nins.

Speaker 29

A couple of times, Steve he always gets caught again, has a knot the ball out of bounds.

Speaker 7

It's so risky back there. But I'd love to see hay sus Ferro just tucking a bit more. Let Kilani so.

Speaker 9

Ifter the work on the right hand side and both saw occupying the same as basically either both going or both the out Why to see Ferrera get closer to Jordan Morris getting side get on the board. A said, it's a good effect in the first half him be out why it takes away a lot of the things he does really well.

Speaker 8

Left hand side is rather five yards from the endline.

Speaker 29

There's left foot clips towards the back sick nobody there one time, maybe one for Hour to hang back on their right hand side to come in late.

Speaker 8

He doesn't.

Speaker 29

He goes a little early, rolls out to this near side, over this near touchline for a throw in Lafc in the hands of Smoley Kop who just drills it into Jeru and it's to deal with it. Hid foot by your desk finds.

Speaker 8

The ankle of ye Mary. I'm still ask him for a foul.

Speaker 29

Nothing given assistant referee on this near side, right in front of that collision.

Speaker 8

But no foul given. But it was a foul given on the Sounders. So it's gonna be free kick for l EFC. Marlon on the ball, the big.

Speaker 29

Brazilian player playing in the center of the back three like for like switch with Aaron Long former Sounders player of course, also like del Gado and Valencia, probably getting ready for the champions Cup game against Columbus on Tuesday. So both squads been challenging these early weeks of the season in terms of depth, in terms of.

Speaker 8

Load, Sounders had a good preseason. Players are ready to play here.

Speaker 29

John Morris laid off to Rosneck, tries to find Morris again with another ball a little tight to find it.

Speaker 8

Maybe a shot and goal could have been an option.

Speaker 29

Dru holds the ball at Well, spins, plays the ball out to Ordz. Quick feet by Ordez, rolls it down the left hand side to Smolnyakov Farrera challenging, cleared by Jonathan bell Well off the chest of Yeam Off that clearance settles it down to Danny Labor JP Saunders build JP just absorbs the impact from a fellow Brazilian Jesus.

Speaker 8

And Sounders come away. It across the half way line with Rosnick calls it from said.

Speaker 29

To far side the left to Paul roth Or drops his left shoulder, comes on his right foot, tries to cut the ball towards.

Speaker 8

Morris gets another chance, pushing the back by Holland.

Speaker 29

Said easy Paul from the referee, setting five or six yards away from the collision top of the box two yard just so outside the eighteen left of center chance for the Sounders on his free kick.

Speaker 9

Yeah, it's better from rough Rock in the second off we've seen being a bit more direct, a bit more positive, bit more dynamic, create.

Speaker 7

Something out of nothing there.

Speaker 9

So I've got tried to play a pass Jordan rossa slip pass and got intercepted, came back to him. Now he's brought down just outside the box, is right, I mean twenty yards out. Albert Russnick has to fancy this here. You work on these order time. The sounds of a great opportunity from a direct free kick. Albert rusnack over the board, big, big NFC war here when the sound is in a very good position.

Speaker 8

Ten goals, sixteen assists last year in the regular season. One assists already this season.

Speaker 29

It is Rossnick with his right foot goes on goal clips off the top of Tafari and the LFC war goes over the top. Gonna be a corner kick for the Sounders here fifty seventh minute EQUC pitch lumen Field Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM short corner by the Sounders. Whereas that goes square top of the boxes. Rock Rock strikes it.

Speaker 8

Let it goes, come on twenty five yards.

Speaker 7

It's hometown here, Paul rough Rock.

Speaker 30

Recuse the sounders here at Lerman Field in the lead sounders to lafc.

Speaker 7

One, oh Man one, A gone poor rough.

Speaker 9

From who's come alive in the second half we don't typically associated with that receives the porn outside the box. Had no hesitation, but he's full right through it. Goalkeeping no chance as the ball flies through. It was a very well worked corn up and a moment Albert russ Nan found pull rough from outside of box.

Speaker 7

It's such a good first touch.

Speaker 9

Man opened his body up the polls in front of him and that is a fantastic strike by rough Rock.

Speaker 7

The sound is back up to be one.

Speaker 29

Great strive by roth Rock and as the players get set for the kickoff, we're gonna throw it down to Michelle.

Speaker 27

As soon as that bar I'll hit the back of the net.

Speaker 25

Brian Schmitzer sprung to his feet, big smile on his face and mouthed wow to me. Just a perfect, perfect example of the strides that Paul Rothrock has taken since being called up to the first team last year.

Speaker 27

I actually spoke to him before today's match and I was asking him.

Speaker 25

You know, he had a rough off season and recovering from an injury that took over twelve weeks, so we didn't really get an off season.

Speaker 27

It was more of recovery. And I asked him what he'd been focusing on.

Speaker 25

To really get himself ready and continuing to grow on the huge strides he took last year, and he said he was just focused on being him and being the player he knew he could be. And how much that the confidence that grew in him last year out after getting so many MLS reps just really has helped him. And it continued to show that just on that beautiful strike there, because that was all confidence.

Speaker 29

Check offside site, nothing given, no offside decision.

Speaker 8

Goal right on their feet, Thanks Michelle slight poison play.

Speaker 29

There's always that kind of anticipation when the board goes up, but it is a sounder's leading. Here two goals to one off the back of Paul Rothrock. Two players with hometown ties Kilaney both played at the u DU got that first goal in the first half after eleven minutes, and now Paul Rothrock, all of twenty five yards away right at center, took a snap up shot and goal and it flew past Husall. Sounders now have a lead to defend and then lifts he had made their big move.

Now Denny Bowonga on the field for Smolnyakov.

Speaker 8

On that left hand side. As the ball spins out away from roth Rock.

Speaker 29

As the referee gives a foul two players coming together in hollins Head and Rothrock.

Speaker 8

Hollins Kid fell to the ground. Referee and they fell for it somewhat.

Speaker 29

Give a free kick to l EFC's We're looking to replace Steve from that shot.

Speaker 8

Great strike. Just caught it so well.

Speaker 7

It's his first touch.

Speaker 9

I mean, you coach cares, you train them. You want to open up your body, take your first touch towards the goals.

Speaker 7

You're running onto it. Roflick done.

Speaker 9

That really was a very well workedapt piece. They took it short and russ NAT's passed into Ruford. I don't know if that part was scripted, but no matter what, it went to plan found the back of the Goky band no chance. The balls were swaving away, had.

Speaker 7

A good bend on it.

Speaker 9

The sound has had man a good song to our second half, deserving you ahead, butchering the law who's paid he's had here bringing on Poango, of course he's no introduction. We know the threat he carries and NFC has at tried to crow back into this game and the crowds into it. Sound is deserving your head.

Speaker 8

Well.

Speaker 29

Now the players that we expected or hope to start this game in some ways and likes a Poolonga just a from a spectacle standpoint, they're now on the field. LAFC will see it kind of if they shift formation slightly with Poowonga. You know that they shifted second part of the season last year into a three back system traditionally playing a somewhat before.

Speaker 8

That allows Bowonga to.

Speaker 29

Say high and left, which he has, of course had so much success two back to back seasons with twenty plus goals for l EFC in a revelation coming into this league from from France just a couple of seasons ago, signed long term contract extension the beginning of twenty twenty four and looks like he is here to stay.

Speaker 8

As Yba picks it.

Speaker 29

Up on the left hand side, go Wonga in support makes a little run inside tries to wriggle free of Kliny.

Speaker 8

Good defending by the young defender from the Sounders.

Speaker 29

Just knocks down the bounds support by Labor down this near side lfc's left ten yards or so from the corner flag. Well, the Wonga making his little run flects the ball double team by the Sounds picked up by the Sounders. Now Farrera asking for a handball, nothing given by the referee.

Speaker 8

JB plays it.

Speaker 29

Can Jordan Morice past Marlon? He does, and Marlon does a good job of just seeing the ball out. Now Marlon goes down hamstring held it straight away if you and knives in it so many times. Yeah, as soon as a player feels it feels like that's maybe his afternoon done.

Speaker 7

It's unfortunate to see, but yeah, we've all been there. You feel that pitch, feel a goal right away.

Speaker 9

I think Jordan even recognized that Jordan Morris there in his opponent went down. You don't want to see that. We've seen that with Delevator going down and now LFC is suffering from it as well. But it kind of gives a natural pause into the game, almost like a time up in basketball, and coaching staff can give instructions or seeing Freddie Warez talking to Daniel Label, who I think has been fantastic because after they really he's coming.

It's not easy to field the shoes of Albert Vagus and Christian roll done and what they're representing the scene. But JP and Leve I've ran the game, controlled that midfield, been very very good and I think the second half sounder is wanting whatever was said at halftime.

Speaker 7

It worked the strategy the way they're playing.

Speaker 9

They got the goal, of course, but the sound is really really doing well limiting LAFC what they've been able to do.

Speaker 29

What's LFC made four subs, they've got one more, and it looks like David Martinez, the young Venice Wayland player you twenty two initiative, he classified as one of the best young players in the world by the.

Speaker 8

Likes of Bay Munich.

Speaker 29

He's gonna come on the field, likely a starter on Tuesday night, but he's gonna come on for the big central defender, and it looks like them that might force LAFC int more offensive position, shifting maybe from a three back system to a four back system.

Speaker 8

Segura and Tafari likely will play in the middle.

Speaker 29

We'll see how that kind of lines up, but certainly with Martinez coming on, more of an offensive threat. And we'll see what the Sounders do in these coming minutes in terms of their subs. Let's get you the rest of the bench for the Sounders Ariola, Stephan fry knew who Christian rolled on, Alex rolled on, Obed Vargas and Georgie Mnungo. Some bench for the Sounders of Brian Schmitzer. Of course, he's already made two.

Speaker 8

Changes Brusnak and Jordan Morris.

Speaker 29

And I'm sure with the game on Tuesday, Steve that Brian has had some pre planned subs depending on how the game goes so far.

Speaker 8

Leanto to one.

Speaker 29

I love the chance to make those changes in the coming minutes. The ball gets last fight short little bit stand alone does a good job.

Speaker 8

Ball out too. Klani inside the engine yard boxwards it square.

Speaker 29

Russak just can't get the ball out from his feet cleared over the end line corner kicks Sounders they lead to one.

Speaker 7

When that comes from what I said earlier, Hey, it's just for right.

Speaker 9

He's an inside right position which leads the right channel for Klan he can attack. It makes it really hard for FSS pick him up for and got so much better when he's not all the way out wide. He can stand a little bit inside playments orchestra in that time play the sound is common close.

Speaker 7

We've got to settle for a corner.

Speaker 29

It's gonna be resonate this near side the right outswing of his right foot, one arm up in the air. He steps forward, whips it in top of the six, headed up and away by Sigura, finds Kilan the top of the box, rolls it out to Rothrock, tries to find the ball between the legs of the wonga, picks it up towards the end line, goes Rothrock, clips it in his left foot, well finds.

Speaker 8

Maris pounced it around. Must came. I feel like he came off the arm of Jordan Morris.

Speaker 29

Referee did not get and a thing cleared by l efc picked up by Danny Labor bound to JP right front.

Speaker 8

The sounder's bench rolls down the right hand side to Ferrera.

Speaker 29

He's got some time and space towards the ninety goes, clips it in towards the back stick, Passa.

Speaker 8

Flops it it.

Speaker 29

Finds a raft Rock towards the end line with his left foot, John and Morris bouncing around.

Speaker 7

Can he find it?

Speaker 8

He kind of comes off the legs of hollings Head.

Speaker 29

It's gonna be another corner kick for the Sounders, but Hussal is not looking comfortable about their stings.

Speaker 9

Oh, their time Backlan is and it's a good spell for the sound of Since scoring have not in the foot of the gas, I've kept going and trying to get that third goal to give a two gold.

Speaker 7

Cushion to put this game away.

Speaker 9

We've seen in the Shott FC game here at a couple weeks ago how dangerous a one gold cushion is.

Speaker 7

So can you find that next goal to get that briefing room and put his game to bed.

Speaker 29

Sixty fifth minute corner kick Sounders and it comes top of the sixth headed clear by Jeru, who will play ninety minutes in this game. See what his legs are gonna be like?

Speaker 8

His rock Rock left corner of the box, driving forward towards the end line, hits it across the.

Speaker 29

There's Jackson Reagano's coming off that back stick couldn't.

Speaker 8

Quite get there. Good defending by hollings Head guides it over the end line. Corner kick Sounders.

Speaker 9

I run out of worse for rough Rock just not watching it play and there's a great piece of skill. Some brera over the defender runs into the channel, and that is as good a play as one that can do. Puts one to a great era couldn't come tonight.

Speaker 29

The wall short corner to Ferrera gets it back off the back of Ordaz, the goal scorer.

Speaker 8

For LFC, is gonna be another corner kick for the Sounders. As some of the world Dawn.

Speaker 29

Brothers maybe getting some final instructions from the coaching staff as they get ready to come on the field. We'll just clarify that when Michelle is down there, she'll give us a thumbs up or not.

Speaker 8

If it's going to be the two.

Speaker 29

Well done, it is a thumbs up for Michelle. More comes in, goes short, this time cleared by Olivier. Jeru, finds a foot of Killarney takes a touch and goes all the way out to the far side. The left headed clear by Hollings, head picked up by Jackson Reagan and left channel.

Speaker 8

Inside the attacking half of the field. Sounders have it rough d just absorbing some pressure.

Speaker 29

It's gonna be a thrown for the sound as that LFC don't agree, but from our advantage point, Steve from all of one hundred and fifty yards away.

Speaker 8

Look pretty obvious.

Speaker 9

Yeah, and I think he's actually called a free kicker. Walls on the ground. Oh no, no, Jonnathan Bill.

Speaker 3

Wanted to freak kick Yeah, hambishs have found.

Speaker 7

Yeah, but the sound is doing well.

Speaker 9

Come by second half, twenty one minutes gone so far completely in control. Was seen very little from LAFC. The position has been good day and I make switch is donn attack it's back. This is exactly got bransh.

Speaker 7

Mess would have won in a half time towards the end, like goes Rusnak.

Speaker 29

Just can't cut it back for Jordan Morris, who's making a run towards that front post in a little bit too square, finds the hands of Hassle, who this time does collect him. I think Hugo Luis is gonna be too scared about his starting position being taken over by Hussa today, Steve.

Speaker 9

No you want keepers looks a bit shaker. He's looks a bit shaky. He's not think no Rissy is safe and we'll see midweek. I mean Columbus as they continue there. Bad question I think for the sound is now it was gone right now at least as much to plan as you could have wished before the game. The den A Vega injury aside everything else to minister players are plane. Can you see the result out? They went into that game on Tuesday night in the best possible shape.

Speaker 29

Soudana gets it Holling's head towards the endline. He goes right corner of the box. Let go by your desk, Sounds pick it up, finds the foot of Roust and that good.

Speaker 8

Solid play by the Sounders. Jordan Morics making a run in behind. Ferrera does play and he had your chance to rock Rock on the other side.

Speaker 29

As Safari comes across foul given tries to play it quickly and Frera wasn't quite ready for it.

Speaker 8

Thankfully it's a yellow card. Yeah, oh, Safari brings the ball back.

Speaker 29

It's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders. Fifteen yards in from this near sideline, right in from the sounder's bench.

Speaker 7

And the game come in to life. In the end, you get a yellow card on your opponent. Not too many complaints.

Speaker 9

But for Ferrera had a chance to really spring rough rock there he was in acres of space down.

Speaker 7

That left hand side.

Speaker 9

Opted to play Jordan Morris down the channel, but had it got to rough Rock would have given Jordan's something to get into the box, as it were a sound of setting it for a free kick about forty yards out, so here by a chance to swing the ball into the box and be effected from a set piece.

Speaker 8

Again where it's gonna be.

Speaker 29

Joe Paolo with the free kick thirty five yards from the end line, right of center.

Speaker 8

Sounders, wholly just outside the peaks pot.

Speaker 29

Paul gets whipped in good delivery, heading clear by Tafari, picked up by the Sounders top of the box with Rouzneck outside the left is Rothrock goes all the way back to Andrew Thomas, who's been somewhat of a spectator, and this second half is get towards.

Speaker 8

The seventy minute mark, twenty minutes left of the.

Speaker 29

Ninety Sounders leading two goals to one back of Kilani and Rothrock goals.

Speaker 8

Both goals were special in their own way.

Speaker 29

Klanie is first goal for the Sounders, Rothrock his first goal this season for the Sounders after a five goal season last year, really breakout year for Rothrock last year. Or goes into Morris plays it around the corner, to line towards the end line cut the top of the six. Jordan Morris has it, flicks.

Speaker 8

It over the top, tries to find it, assistant.

Speaker 29

Referees like eventually goes up good in and connecting play by the Sounders.

Speaker 7

We're seeing the glimpses of what this can be eventually.

Speaker 9

And this is without Christian rodn in there, without Ariona is to have Georgian has not done a vega. Just soap the options the quarting staff will happen in that attacking third.

Speaker 29

It's starting to come to life and listen to the crowd, listen to the evasion.

Speaker 8

As much as that is for the rolled arm brothers coming on, it.

Speaker 29

Is also for Kilany and for Ferrera, but certainly for young Kohlaney Coosrienzi his home debut for the Sounders, his first goal for the Sounders at MLS, and he gets all the pats on the back he deserves.

Speaker 8

Ferrera goes off as well.

Speaker 29

A good seventy minute shift by Ferrara and it comes Danny Labor now Jordan Morris top of the box or goes to Russneck strikes it, let's say by us comfortable.

Speaker 8

On the end, just pats it down. Sound is now playing on the front foot.

Speaker 9

They have been the whole second half freely here and it's come from that midfold I mentioned Daniel Leave has been fantastic and he's complete, you know, over ninety percent of these passes today he's got on the border locked over seventy passes.

Speaker 7

He's been fantastic.

Speaker 9

He's allowed Jpef to saw of rome and find the ball as well, and they just dominate the midfield and having allowed NFC to build. The only time NFC look dangerous was that last fifteen in the first half where the Sound is pressure offensively in the final third wasn't good and allowed the men in White to build and get comfortable. But they got to talking to a half time because second half it's only been one two minute Listen,

it's only two to one. There's a lot of quality in that Los Angeles squad when they can punish you out of nowhere, but the Sound is fully in control.

Speaker 7

And what you have to do now and this team is skill you have to develop is go for the kill. Develop that skill.

Speaker 9

When you're two on up, it's got to become three, one, four one to put no doubt in the result.

Speaker 29

Well, I'll let you figure out the formation. Now still three in the back, it looks like rolled on sliding on that right like the like switch for Kalan. It looks like Christian Roldan has shifted into the middle of the park just maybe in front of Danny, Labor and JP.

Speaker 8

But it looks at Labor's playing.

Speaker 29

A little why do on that left hand on that right hand side as Ruwonga just wriggles free put down well by JP. Good challenge by heyesus, JP scrambles after the ball. So maybe rolled On playing central the part, maybe alongside JP and Labor, maybe.

Speaker 8

Has that license to roam somewhat on that right hand side on the three.

Speaker 29

Two attacking positions with Russneck and Labor sitting in behind Jordan Morris, rolled on Alice rolled on that is, it's flips down the line towards Labor.

Speaker 8

Well LFC it made their five subs.

Speaker 29

So injury concurs that a believe a concussion still allows a player to come on, you know, situation for Trundle to have to manage player down as Jpeters nix it.

Speaker 8

Over the sideline. Here's near side for an LAFC throw.

Speaker 29

Just under twenty minutes to go of the ninety Sounders leading two goals to one here at.

Speaker 8

EQC Pitchloom and Field. Don't leave us at the end of the.

Speaker 29

Game, Pete Jackson, Kellen, We'll be back to break it all down, hopefully breaking down a Sounders victory in a much needed win in the regular season against their faux LAFC. It's been a while, of course, Sounders in their last matchup was the very end of last season, the postseason Western Conference Semifinals went down to LA won two goals to.

Speaker 8

One against LAFC.

Speaker 29

There's a fifth matchup in twenty twenty four between these two clubs.

Speaker 8

Sounders need this three points.

Speaker 29

You haven't got on the winning score sheet yet in this these early parts of the MLS season. It was a last minute equalis a goal by Charlotte and the Homo in a two two Jordan Morris going two goals, tying Railroydars for eighty six or comp goals, and it was a two year loss last week against RSL on the road and was always a difficult place to play.

Speaker 8

In Sandy, Utah.

Speaker 29

A good ball by Rolldog splits the midfield for l EFC rolls it out to Rothrock left corner the boxes skips by Hollinstead.

Speaker 8

Inside the box, he goes looking for an option, can't find it.

Speaker 29

Instead of his left foot he use to the outside of his ride goes straight into the hands of Hussal and Steve zac Quanell.

Speaker 8

Let you break that one down.

Speaker 9

I love everything Roughrock did until the cross because he beat the defender. I mean, that's such good classical old school week play by rough Rock. But as a winger, when you get into the box, the closer you get, you've got clipped out.

Speaker 7

To the back post, trying to play anything along the ground.

Speaker 9

All the defenders collapse towards the board, so the space is towards.

Speaker 7

The back post there.

Speaker 9

So roth Frock down, come, You'll start slowing down. The game will slow down. You'll see more runners. And if Jordan Mursi's peels towards the back post, I think we'refore can stand up all up there and invite someone to come and attack it. But he's been the man in the second half. He's come to life. Turn this game around for the Sounders and they gain everything they want on that left hand side.

Speaker 8

Great switcher play by Alex rolled on to Rothrock.

Speaker 29

Now JP has the ball left channel far side the Sounders in the attacking half of the field to give it away slight by bell and then tripped up by things or days as you can be a free kick for the Sounders.

Speaker 8

As they get set for their free kick, we'll throw it down to Michelle.

Speaker 3

Thank you, Danny.

Speaker 25

It's nice to see job Powell getting so much action tonight, so many minutes here today.

Speaker 27

This offseason, Brian Schmetzer told us that.

Speaker 25

They had five separate conversations about playing time this year and whether he was going to stay or go. Ultimately, as we can see, he decided to stay and was happy about the new role that he would be taking with the lot of rotation that we're seeing in the starting lineup, and Brian Schmeszer told us the most impressive part of each of these conversations is that it ended the exact same way, saying, I will show you I can play.

Speaker 8

Thanks Michelle, Well, he's certainly showing us he could play today.

Speaker 29

Anchoring the central of the park alongside Danny Labor again has been so solid again in the middle of the park, the ball goes down the line tries to find them erouding Jordan Morris picked up by Sigura on the second attempt misplayed the first time as sound As FC Socket is presented by prominent Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC.

Speaker 9

Yeah, and I think it's a big fifteen minutes of closing period coming up for the Sounders here. It's never too earn a season to learn about your teammate and have you learned from your mistakes.

Speaker 7

We were here a couple of weeks.

Speaker 9

Ago and they were maybe even more dominant agains Charlotte FC, but they never quite put them away, put them to bed, and the very last minute it was an on goal and you saw two points evaporate into finnet.

Speaker 7

You've been a better team.

Speaker 9

It's an NFC team that yeah, we know how good they can be. You've been a better team. Reward yourselves and how do you close the game out? So now you've got to start figuring out ways. When can you go direct?

Speaker 7

When can you keep the ball? Take to think out of the game and for the sound it's a big fifteen minutes coming.

Speaker 8

Up all down the right side.

Speaker 29

Danny Labor ten yards from the end, like comes back to Christian worldde Morris making a run in behind Mishi Waldn just keeps his possession, goes back to Danny Lavoro, all at his foot points Rothron now inside the.

Speaker 8

Ehyr, but Jordan Morris making him run. Jordan my strikes it and there it is.

Speaker 7

He's done it.

Speaker 31

Jordan Morris scores his eighty seventh goal for the Sounders and it comes.

Speaker 3

The all time leading goalscorer.

Speaker 29

How fitting that a player who watched the Sounders grow up, who lived just a few miles away from Lumingfield, later the Academy, whose father worked at the club, and a person who invests so much in this community that he now becomes the.

Speaker 8

Greatest goalscorer in Sounder's history. Well done, Jordan Morris.

Speaker 29

Sounders three l EFC one and it's enough of really really good goal.

Speaker 7

When the Sounders three of them and it's that man.

Speaker 9

Rough from and a Harvey again came to.

Speaker 7

The rond side. He turns play make up.

Speaker 9

But this is all about Jordan Morris makes the run, the all top number nine make into the space great angle and there was no doubt once he got one v one that was going into the back of the game. I agree with you, He's been a great sermon of the club since his academy days when we'd watch him join the first team training and to now see him have this huge honor, great accomplishment. No one has scored

more goals for Sounders FC in the MLS. Eraror Congress to Jordan Morris and the Saunders did want ask.

Speaker 32

For put in this game to bed And here is that man top goalscorer in Sounder's issue down the right hand side cuts it back to Russnack who gets his legs scrambled up with South Dana and could have been a penalty on another day maybe, but the referee runs away, no interest in giving a spot kick for that one.

Speaker 8

Sounders leading three goals to one, twelve minutes to go of the nineties, Sounders need to hold on now.

Speaker 29

Next five minutes deceives that Corny has met a couple of times already be vitally important.

Speaker 8

Lock up the back line, nothing silly and as players like Labor go to the deck to win that ball, that's exactly what the Sounders need. It's a bit of grit here in these final ten minutes or so.

Speaker 29

Referee just five yards away from a challenge on Yema gives away the foul. It's gonna be a chance for LAFC to put the ball in the eighteen yard box towards the head of likes of Jheru and Tafari.

Speaker 8

See if they can get themselves back into this game.

Speaker 7

Yeah, you don't want to give them any window.

Speaker 9

Set pieces will certainly be an opportunity for that if they get good service into the box.

Speaker 7

Keep it with the two goal lead at three one, see this game out.

Speaker 9

Show that you've even in this early season, you've grown and you've learned from the mistakes of a couple of weeks of goal.

Speaker 7

Offensive you have shown that.

Speaker 9

But defensively kind of sounders keep this NFC from making the last.

Speaker 7

Few minutes interesting.

Speaker 8

Ball comes in by Bowonga's quipped.

Speaker 29

Him with that dangerous rife, go straight in the arms of Andrew Thomas, who collects it, falls through his knees and quickly throws it out.

Speaker 9

But no need so to throw it away like that, Andrew, game management, that's one of the things there.

Speaker 7

You've got to throw it down.

Speaker 9

I would love to see Andrew Thomas there catch the ball into his signs and just go down.

Speaker 7

Wait the clock down.

Speaker 9

Give you up defenders and attacking players a chance to get further up the field.

Speaker 7

And just take this thing out of this game.

Speaker 9

The more it's exciting and back and forth transitional, it plays into lafc's hands. Take the sting and life out of the game, take their belief away and then see this out.

Speaker 7

But you do have the two gold cushion, which we haven't had.

Speaker 9

And as much as the performances have been good this season from the sound As they played well, the Ambins results haven't been there. And sometimes it's easy when you're playing bad to accept bad results. When you're playing well, it's harder. But the Sounders marrying the two today good performance if you get the right result. The seam has truly arrived in the twenty twenty five season.

Speaker 29

Jordan Mouric's backing into Safari tries to lay the ball off, can't quite connect with rolled on.

Speaker 8

Down line, it goes to the one a good challenge by Yama, fair challenge or gets flicked over the top. LFC.

Speaker 29

I've not been in this situation before, or at least for a while at lumin Field. And after four straight clean sheets, Steve, this is gonna be It's gonna be a sting at this one, giving up three goals to their art rival, the Sounders, and.

Speaker 9

It's not a good omen because they have a three goal lead going to Columbus and you want to go into that game of a solid defensive base.

Speaker 7

You've given up three.

Speaker 9

Of course it'll be different personnel, definitely a different goalkeeper. But for the Sounds, at least you've got your market from back in the playoffs against this team. But do it at home during the regular season. The team's come here too many times and picked up results, and I think the death was seen this season. The matter of guys that sat on the bench will be playing on Tuesday night and the performance has still mostly been good.

Speaker 7

I think it only bodes well for what this team could need twenty twenty five.

Speaker 29

I mean, we're looking back at RSL with had conversations during the week. Feels more like a blip now maybe a learning lesson, yeah, flap.

Speaker 33

Yeah.

Speaker 9

I think the team has been playing well. That's what I always felt good about. I could see what they're trying to do.

Speaker 7

You can see the signs, the ideas were there.

Speaker 9

It was really silly individual lapses defensively that you don't often see. And it's not one person. That's all of them, but if cut that out mostly today it's been a good, solid professional performance. Are not a crowd behind them? Obviously the gold from Clone you got him going the rough rost screamer, and then the Jordan Morris who looks at the cherry on the top here breaking the record as well. It's just been a good afternoon all around, minus a

tele Vega injury. But you can't go into the krus As old game wishing for anything more than what you see today.

Speaker 29

Branch messal well, all local product has delivered for the Sounders today Kilaney, Rath Rock, Morris sounders connect balls.

Speaker 8

Well through the midfield. It's look good so far. On the second half, sound As leading three goals to one. Eight minutes or so.

Speaker 29

Lap Paul get swipped up by rolled on clips off your bow is asking for something.

Speaker 8

It doesn't go out of play because roth Rock on the far side picks it up to bell to a.

Speaker 29

JP tries to find the ball around the corner, picks up by LAFC and Martinez.

Speaker 8

Can they spring into life now? Make this game interesting? Sounds one of the able to shut things down. All goes in.

Speaker 29

Behind and Jackson Regan sure footed plays the ball to JP, colects the ball, a little bit of pressure.

Speaker 8

More dares go square to Yamar top of the box.

Speaker 29

No real pressure from LAFC. We'll see if they somewhat throw the towel Steve in these final minutes.

Speaker 7

And I think the sound, as I'm doing well now this last two minutes is how this game should go.

Speaker 9

Take this thing out of it, loss of possession, make them change its, making them lose hot. They'll start committing city files as a sea now and you'll get chances in behind. I think the sound of the game's exactly where and how you want it to be. There's man of the match all over the field today. I've been saying I love the way Lavers played, but I think the whole tea performance of being fantastic.

Speaker 8

As Bell to Russ that top of the box, he's Christian Roll done over up and run by his brother, but goes.

Speaker 27

The other way.

Speaker 31

It's Christian roll don He shifts the ball to his left and guides it in the bottom corner, and that is just about them.

Speaker 29

Sounders lead four goals to warn against LAFC and three points in the back.

Speaker 9

I mean we we'd be spoiled today the culibo of goals we've seen. I mean, that is beautiful, unbelievable from Christian Rodon and I don't think he wanted to shoot. He's on the edge of the box, he's looking for runners. His brother's on the overnup and in the end up provided to be the perfect decoy, but wanting to replay. Hey, he gets a good first touch. He's a simple pass into the back of the.

Speaker 7

Dead on his week of foot. But that's how you do it. He simply guides it.

Speaker 9

That's a fresh at the board, great piece of skill using the defender candabas the stick with which the.

Speaker 7

Curl the ball around.

Speaker 9

Such a composed finish for Christian Rodan and it now truly is good night LFC, game, set and match, and it's nothing less than what a Sounder deserved to part from a fifty minute blip in the first half. To close out that half, They've been the better team by far and.

Speaker 29

Other than antigue worth a couple of os, three goals and three goals, but against a really weakened opposition.

Speaker 8

This is the breakout game for the sound.

Speaker 7

We're seeing what this team can be and I think it's very fitting.

Speaker 9

That a lot of the players who will be there midweek starting were on the bench. You want to talk about depth on payperdis good, They've shown it tonight. We're seeing just how good this team could be and on any given day it can be anyone. Four different goal scorers, just brilliant.

Speaker 29

One final change for the Sounders getting final instructions as Georgia Minongo new dad Me and Alex rolled on last week. Now Georgia Minongo this week and again we talk about football is important.

Speaker 8

There are more important things.

Speaker 29

Young Georgia Bernanko on the birth of his child as he gets ready to come on the field.

Speaker 8

The ball went over the end line. It's gonna be a goalkick for the Sounders.

Speaker 29

And Andrew Thomas and the Sounders will certainly enjoy these final five minutes or so.

Speaker 8

We'll see what the referee does. I hope the referee has got some common sense that both teams have games coming up in Tuesday. Is four to one.

Speaker 29

Just put a minute on the board and let these players get back in the locker room and let these fans go home happy.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 9

I mean the focus now where the truth it was before the game two Both coachres if they're lying up said, hey, we've got I on midweek, but now you can well.

Speaker 7

And truly shift towards that. The Sounders. You've got the right amount of minutes, the confidence of rough rock, of Jordan Morris, they for JP, the back line, the way they've played.

Speaker 9

You're carrying that now into cruises wo, which I thought, you know in midweek took Sounds a while to get go. It was a good second half performance and have put together now three mostly really good halfs of football.

Speaker 7

And choosing night's gonna be a good one with this playing.

Speaker 8

Like this, it just looks fantastic, just looks so good.

Speaker 29

Here's the sound that's gonna be twenty twenty five passes so far in a row, Labor making a little running behind.

Speaker 8

Is he the player that's gonna be taken off in place of Georgie Manungo.

Speaker 29

He's had a really good afternoon as young Danny Labor. I think he's solidifying the confidence of his coaching staff in letting a tenso go, and Labor is now becoming a real good asset for Bryan Schwetz.

Speaker 9

It was a big fourth of confidence. I've always been a fan of Labor. I've had some conversation with him over the years. He loves the game of football, loves getting on the board. You know, it's confidence to be dink at times, but right now the whole team just seems very confident.

Speaker 8

All in behind is Jordan Marsics.

Speaker 29

Can he find his second goal the night saved by Hussal assistant.

Speaker 8

Referees, flag goes up. I'd like to see that replay again. Maybe Jordan just inched offside.

Speaker 29

And now Georgie Manunga will get his opportunity to come on the field and put the fear of God into the sigura. And there's Danny Labor gets the applause he's so richly deserves.

Speaker 8

Brian Schmetzer gifts dead Labor a little word.

Speaker 29

Maybe a little bit of advice, even maybe a pad the back, and then it gets a high five to all.

Speaker 8

The coaching staff. We'll play Danny alongside.

Speaker 29

JP Sounders leading four goals so on, just a couple of minutes left here, Let's not forget your Sounds. Will return to MLS play on Saturday, March fifteenth, as they hit the road to face Saint Louis City SC at five point thirty pm Pacific.

Speaker 8

Watch the match via the MLS Season Pass.

Speaker 29

On Apple TV app and listen on nine to fifteen KGr Am and l Ray thirteen sixty am The Provident Swedish pre match shot with Jackson Reagan.

Speaker 9

And the Crew.

Speaker 8

So Jackson Felts and the crew starts at five pm. Alex rolled on Knoxy down the line.

Speaker 29

JP still making runs. It behind you know where the team's playing. Well, when you've got your cent defensive centiment field player making run and here comes Georgie. Can he find something here top one of the bots close down by Cigura strikes and he just slashed out him.

Speaker 8

No corner kick goal kick sound as they four one, But it's that end product.

Speaker 29

We talked about it against RSL and he want to know that he's got the legs of Cigar.

Speaker 7

It just take him off.

Speaker 9

Yeah, he did not need to slow down and I, you know, stopped by the sound of training yesterday, had a long chat with Georgie in the locker room. Sat there, we spoke for a little bit and he said to me, look, I have to add stats and goals right now. I'm kind of as goals and assist right now. I'm a very excited player, but I know Steve that that input out needs to come, and I think that's what's mystic right now.

Speaker 7

He's a little bit behind the pecking order.

Speaker 9

I think so, but it's aught to do with production and that comes with experience in maturity.

Speaker 7

It will come.

Speaker 9

But he's just such an exciting player to watch bring off the bench. Coaches starts very.

Speaker 7

High on him. His teammates love him, he loves the game. But that last bit will come.

Speaker 29

And it feels like what roth Rock has done as being a bench player who's now fought himself into a starting line and has proven himself.

Speaker 8

Yeah, game in, game out. Yeah, we'll get to your comments in the men.

Speaker 29

As the ball down, Ryan had the hollingtet Sanders retreated ball across the sixth and Jeru maybe five years ago would have got there.

Speaker 8

He doesn't. It rolls out for a goal kick Sounders lead for one. But Rothrock has proved himself as a starter.

Speaker 29

Georgie wants to get out of being that bench player coming on making an impact to be a starter.

Speaker 7

And your point is absolutely correct.

Speaker 9

So Rossrock did that by impacting the squashyet right, he was either getting gold or assists.

Speaker 7

He was always doing something winning penalties doing things that leads to golds.

Speaker 9

And as Schmitzer loves to say, goals change games, and I'll say goals win games, of course, and so Georgie, that's the final evolution. And the referee did not listen to your advice that year will be here a while wronger.

Speaker 8

Than six minutes.

Speaker 29

I mean, I think Brian Schmetz, one of Brian Schmitz's words of advice I always landed on his common sense isn't very common.

Speaker 7

And it definitely has to happen with that.

Speaker 9

I think both teams are ready to focus on midweek. Yeah, it's been a very flowing game as well. I mean a couple little stopping six minutes when no one here the fans us snow would be grudge referee put a minute up.

Speaker 7

Call it today.

Speaker 29

Strike from distance from Heyesuster s up goes why it's gonna be a goal kick? And I think both players, that's players are gonna see this one out. No injuries needed. Two big games coming up in midweeks Sounders on Tuesday against Cruisers All LAFC against Columbus.

Speaker 8

They're leading three goals to nil. Sounder is going to go into a tough environment.

Speaker 29

Steve nil nil against what will probably likely be a stronger starting eleven for Cruisers All they missed a couple of players last week. We'll see what type of lineup the Sounders put out there and trying to get through to play either Chieves or Club.

Speaker 8

America, which will be another huge series. If this Sounders can get through.

Speaker 9

It's a difficult path to whatever title they wanted that competition, but it.

Speaker 29

Comes Martinez top of the box, good chows by of all people, Jordan Morris, and there's Martinez just scores and that is not what the Sounders need. Four goals to two, they are still up. They've got a cushion, but four and a half minutes left.

Speaker 8

We've seen more. We've seen interesting things in the world of Socker over the years. Yeah, Sounds gona lock it down.

Speaker 9

You know, I fit the game is mostly over and we get that sets, but they're still gonna talk about that goal. You're gonna watch down film with the back line with everyone. Jordan does well initially tracking back all the way gets a blog, but it's when the boat it was kind of parted.

Speaker 7

I mean it's like the Red Sea here, it just parts. Then you can't have that we're talking about going to cruise as Zoon.

Speaker 9

You give them that kind of time and space, the quality of players they have, you're aid for a very very long giving in in Mexico.

Speaker 7

So its habits, it's detailed. It's seeing a game out.

Speaker 9

Yeah, maybe you're not punished today, no problem, but in June, July and some of those bigger games as it comes September, October. If you haven't built these habits now, they won't.

Speaker 3

Save you then.

Speaker 9

And I think you for the Sounders defensively, he's got to stay engaged for if it's ninety six minutes, then it's ninety six minutes. And that was way too easy. Again for the cancer goalls.

Speaker 7

We've seen this season, conceded, they've been very preventable. I had enough one to do this.

Speaker 8

It was just like making It felt like John the bell got caught in possession.

Speaker 29

Sister referee' flag goes up, it's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders. Hopefully they can start to see this one out three and a half minutes to go of the six. But again, preventable goals, which I mean in some way, Steve, you could say, Okay, we can clean that up. We've got the best defense in MLS the last couple of years, but it just feels like they need to eliminate that we'll be in a better position.

Speaker 8

Ball goes in top of the boxes. Alex rolled on, good strike, good block by Hollings.

Speaker 29

Head picked up by Christian rolled on right corner of the box, goes to Georgie. Munungo will step over, goes by your bow with ease back to JP.

Speaker 8

So Christian rolled on right side, clips towards the back stick. That's roth clock. It was blocked by Tafari a.

Speaker 29

Couple of yards off the line, cleared up the field cleaned up by Jackson reg.

Speaker 8

And it's small like it for the Sounders.

Speaker 9

Yeah, and that's how it should have been. And you need to intest on both sides of the porn. But Georgie wonderful step off or you've seen why he's so excited. The fans wanted to get a body get on their feet.

Speaker 7

Here goes again.

Speaker 29

That's Georgie, not step over, goes to the legs of your boat towards the headline.

Speaker 8

He goes clips it then and that's the final touch.

Speaker 29

It's rough Snack who puts the ball in the roof for the net from five yards out and it's Georgie Vernono.

Speaker 8

What a way to celebrate the birth of his child. His second assist of the season, first next goal, Sounders leads five to two and the fans will go home happy.

Speaker 7

I'm biased. I like Georgia a lot. I like watching him play. I like his style. Who was just saying he has to impact.

Speaker 9

The score sheet and that's how you do it. No one else on the team can do that stepovers and it's a second time.

Speaker 7

In thirty seconds that he's done that. It's not easy to be the same man over and over in different ways. That's magical skill. A couple stepovers not meant through the legs and then it slows down. Pick your man up and he does that. That's really skilled.

Speaker 9

Set on the replay here, nice little comeback and you give that kind of time. He's based a ton of six shot books. He's gonna score every time.

Speaker 7

And that's a better note to end the game on dental seedon.

Speaker 8

Resident against his first goal of the year.

Speaker 29

Assess against Charlotte for that ball through for Jordan Morris.

Speaker 8

So Rosneck now picking up where he left off last year.

Speaker 29

So all in all, for the Sounders other than a couple of again commendable goals which really show the coaches app will talk about clean up.

Speaker 8

Sounders is doing what.

Speaker 29

Brian Schmitz Fro and his coaches staff would have wanted coming out of the gates this season, is to have more five power, the attacking third Steve.

Speaker 8

They added players in Ferrera.

Speaker 29

And Ariola who have scored and contributed, but it's the players who have been here who have taken on the advice during pre season. They're getting goals on the board and will get to you in one second. But it comes Rath wrong.

Speaker 8

But yes, Steve getting five goals today.

Speaker 7

Five scorers, all from different was a signed in.

Speaker 9

Different ways, the types of goals, the lineup changes, the person know who's had different looks on the pitch. It's been really, really good and Georgie here is just having fun with boiler, give me a taste of his own medicine. And the fans are super excited and this is fantastic and he wins a corner and I know a.

Speaker 8

Cap by Georgie. Ghuanga has to go back and defense wax it towards his sister. Referee and the LFC have not been in the situation for a long time where really Steve. They've been dominating in all parts of the field.

Speaker 7

They've been dominating.

Speaker 9

They had a fifty minute spell towards the end of the first off, but that was more to do with the sound of dropping off the woman. The level went back up after halftime. It's been one team minute. The strength of death has been fantastic today. Some of the formal mezma writing well deserved.

Speaker 29

Win walk to the top of the box and it just gets stuffed in by Alix Albert RUSSA good ball by JP Sounders lead five to two at lumen Field and this score is presented.

Speaker 8

By Providence Swedish.

Speaker 29

And I have no idea why the referees not calling it, but past the ninety six minute mark, just call it.

Speaker 9

I think he's enjoying some of the football yesterday was should be honestly.

Speaker 8

Now let's see in possession of the halfway line with.

Speaker 29

Jesus fans whistling asking him for the final whistle from the referee, and there it is.

Speaker 8

Finally the referee.

Speaker 29

Puts the whistle to his mouth, brings why he's been a pulsating game to a close and for the Sounders.

Speaker 8

There was business done. Started in the first.

Speaker 29

Half with Kolaney Kosa Rienzi and the eleventh minute the tying gold going in at half time by Nathan Northdasinte thirty eight, and then it was Paul Rather up in the fifty seventh, Jordan Morris with his eighty seventh all Comp goal for the Sounders that makes him the top goal scorer in Sounders' history. He scores in the seventy seventh, Chrishiarp rolled down in the eighty four, and then he was Martinez brought down the middle of the park to.

Speaker 8

Get a consolation go for LAFC.

Speaker 29

And then the cherry on top of the cake was Ruzneck in the ninety fourth minute.

Speaker 8

Steve, your final thoughts.

Speaker 7

Job well done. Seventy five of that ninety minutes or ninety six.

Speaker 9

Was absolutely brilliant, attacking wise, mesmerizing. We're seeing glimpse of what they can do. And there's no better way to go into Tuesday's big game than with what we saw today.

Speaker 7

Everyone all over the pictures, fantastic Roth Frog second off.

Speaker 9

Brilliant Navon, JP running game the whole game, Jordan breaking the record. Everybody, you look good, stuff. Of course, Petro, we hoped this that's not too bad. But this team is for real and we saw today the climpse of why that strength and depth has been so heralded as I was spoken about, fantastic performance.

Speaker 8

It's think so everyone involved in today's broadcast.

Speaker 29

Terry Ryan here in the birth, Jessamine McIntyre back at the studio, Keeley Dunning and Kevin Kay as always, to Michelle Luca on the sidelines, and of course the Sounders legend Steve zach Quarni. It's a quick turn around for the Sounders. They will be on the road this coming week to play Cruisers, all in the second game of a two game round a sixteen series, with the Sounders

going to Mexico. All tied up after the first game, and we have to provide a final congratulations to Jordan Morris, top goal scorer in Sounder's history, scored his eighty seventh all comp goal today.

Speaker 8

Jordan Morris deserves it.

Speaker 29

He's a man of the community, does so much for this club and he has everything that personifies what it is to be a Sounder.

Speaker 8

But for now we'll take a short break. Jackson felt, Pete Fuek Kellen Rowe.

Speaker 29

We'll be back to break everything down, make you see pitch here at lumen Field. Big statement win for the Sounders as they win today, get their three points on the board and they win five goals to two against l EFC.

Speaker 8

We'll see you next week.

Speaker 13

If you've been having you'll look at home sausage week more than coffee from somewhere else.

Speaker 2

For the first time since May sixteenth of twenty twenty one, your Seattle Sounders have beaten LAFC in a regular season game.

Speaker 5

And what a blow out.

Speaker 7

It was five to two.

Speaker 2

And the man who scored the first goal, and what a goal it was Kolanne Cooza Rienzi, the University of Washington product.

Speaker 3

He's down on the field with Michelle Ludka.

Speaker 27

Thank you Jackson.

Speaker 25

First of all, congratulations your first MLS goal in your first MLS start at home. You guys get the win, a huge win, three points, first win of the season and you started all off with your first goal.

Speaker 27

For you personally, can you put into words what all this means to you?

Speaker 8

Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 33

It's amazing. I I have been waiting for this moment for a while. We've been working so hard. I've been working so hard, so it's nice to see all the work payoff when you get that chance. It's one of those things where and everybody's been telling me, just don't just you're you're You're here for a reason. You're on the field for a reason, So just do your thing and it'll all work out.

Speaker 8

And and that's exactly what I did.

Speaker 33

I try not to not to stress too much, not to think about it too much, just to be in the moment and enjoy my teammates around me, the fans around me, the atmosphere.

Speaker 27

All of it well, and what a beautiful moment it was.

Speaker 25

What do you think a big win like this will do momentum wise for the squad before you guys hop on a plane tomorrow ahead to Mexico City.

Speaker 33

Yeah, I think it's I think it's great. You can't you can't ask for anything better. Obviously a shoutout would have been nice, but there's always something to work for.

Speaker 8

Momentum wise. It's amazing where.

Speaker 33

We've had so many games in the past week, and we've got so many more coming up, so you got to feed off of the ones before and you got to feed off the momentum. So this is perfect going into it, and it's a great start to the rest of the season.

Speaker 25

Clannie, thank you so much for the time, Congratulations on the win, and congratulations on.

Speaker 27

What a remarkable performance from yourself. Todank you, Michelle. I appreciate it, of course.

Speaker 3

Jackson Beck to you, thanks Michelle. That's Kalani Coosa Rienzi.

Speaker 2

He scored Seattle's first in the eleventh minute we went to half one one. Then in the fifty seventh we have a goal from Paul Rothrock from about twenty five yards out. This is gonna be difficult figuring out our play of the match. By the way, seventy seventh minute we have Jordan Morris and how have we gone this far? In the postgame show, Jordan Morris a hardy and major congratulations the top goal scorer now in club history, number eighty seven for JMO. In the seventy seventh minute, he

went five hole on Hassel. The keeper slipped it in from Paul Rothrock. Jordan went under. It went between his legs for number eighty seven all time, most in club history.

Speaker 3

That made it three to one.

Speaker 2

Christian laces a ball into the lower left corner in the eighty fourth to make it four to one, and then Albert Rusnak from Georgie Manoon Goo in the ninety fifth minutes to make.

Speaker 3

It five to two.

Speaker 2

A five spot on lafc for the Sounders first MLS win of the season. Welcome into the postgame show, Jackson Feltz Kellen Roe Pee viewing.

Speaker 3

We are going to roll quickly.

Speaker 2

Through this postgame show and get as much as we can. In Kellen opening thoughts on the five to two win, I mean, there's so.

Speaker 5

Many things to talk about, but I think it's a full team performance.

Speaker 4

And it was a full performance for the most of the ninety minutes, right besides that, maybe the five or ten minutes in that first half where lafc was able to get a goal.

Speaker 5

You know, you talk about storylines.

Speaker 4

Kilani with his first goal, just at his first start at home and he gets his first goal and really kind of brought this team to life. Jesus Ferrera continuing his run as being that guy who can assist from anywhere. He's about half field played that ball into Kilanie. So he's still trying to get to know the players, but he seems to be finding the right ways to do so.

And of course you had the big storyline of Jordan Morris, who a guy who talk about resiliency, coming back from two different ACLS, coming back to his hometown, not going overseas to start his career, deciding to stay home, and now he's being rewarded with the most goal scored as a Seattle Sounder in club history. He's well deserving of it, and so that's another storyline. And then you get Albert Rucenck on the score sheet again as along with Christian Roldan.

So you got these guys that are coming in who are meant to have little bit of saved legs now.

Speaker 5

Get a little bit more confidence going into Wednesday.

Speaker 4

And then for me, it's Georgie Manongoo coming in and just lighting a fire under these guys because he was involved and he was sparky, and then he got that final assist to Albert Rucenck.

Speaker 6

Well, it's fantastic. I mean, Brian Schmeszer said yesterday when we said Klani starting and he's maybe go against bow Wonga, Brian said, I'll either be a hero or a goat. So tonight he's a hero as a coach. Right And I'll tell you what I'm gonna go online right on record right now saying I knew we were gonna win five two when I saw our lineup.

Speaker 3

Of course you did.

Speaker 6

I said this is a five to two team.

Speaker 5

Right now, he said it was five too. You didn't say who I love that you that's crazy.

Speaker 6

Yeah, no, that one a great win. And you're right, so many, so many great storylines. And how about this. Two weeks in a row are two favorite postgame interviews. Right last week, Georgie, what a great kid, Kilanie said all the right thing. You just kind of go, come on, I know this is a great group of young men and it is fun to get behind him. Paul Rothrock is back right, the kid from Saint Joe's and hold On and Lake's outside. Yeah, I got a buddy who said you got to get in Saint jose and Lakes.

That Seattle United product are local kids getting goals and getting assists. And that was a great team effort today.

Speaker 2

Really real quick on that before you jump in Hilani University of Washington, Paul capitol Hill, Jordan Mercer Island Christian rolled on University of Washington.

Speaker 3

Albert Rusnak. You're one of our own anyway, Alex rolled on Local.

Speaker 2

I mean, but the guys scored the goals, local, local, local, Pretty damn cool.

Speaker 6

Reagan, you forgot right and scores. Oh sorry, those pulse but.

Speaker 4

It's an incredible Like I said, there's the storylines on this game. Yes, we put up five goals and people are talking about the offensive Seattle Sounders was kind of lacking the past few years, and know you're seeing with the addition the new additions, and you know in Hazes's freer coming in and getting that assists and helping along with that offensive strike that we had today and dominance.

Speaker 5

Really but I just love that there's a.

Speaker 4

Storyline in everything you do, right, Jordan getting the record, Kalani with his first goal, all being fairly local kids. Yeah, Rothrock kind of making his way back. We talked about in the pre game how he needed to have a good game today and he definitely did so. This this team is having a lot of confidence and hopefully these kind of games can push them forward. They have another quick one in Mexico and is not gonna be an easy one, so keep this confidence.

Speaker 5

But you know, have a have a good time in Mexico.

Speaker 6

This game didn't take a lot of win out of their sales. They're going to get on a plane tomorrow to go to Mexico rejuvenated, fired up, confident. They're going in. You couldn't have scripted this one any better. For Tuesday's game, the second leg of that match.

Speaker 3

Well, Sounders have won today and you get to win tomorrow.

Speaker 3

Come on, let's rattle off a few other things.

Speaker 2

Tonight's Toyota Man of the Match scores assists. I think he needed a good game today, and boy Paul Rothrock got one. Your local Toyota dealers are proud to present today's Man of the Match.

Speaker 3

We mentioned what's coming up for the Sounders.

Speaker 2

We'll get to that in a second, but really quick, it's time for our Emerald Queen Casino Play of the match.

Speaker 3

Listen.

Speaker 2

There's so many goals we can choose from, but only one man stands above the rest for most goals all time in Seattle Sounders history.

Speaker 3

It's Jordan Morris.

Speaker 29

Mishap Houldon just keeps possession goes back to Danny Leave bullet. His foot finds Rothorne, now inside the EAH and making everyone.

Speaker 31

Jordan my strikes. Jonah Morris scores is eighty seventh goal for the Sounders and then comes you.

Speaker 8

All time leading goal score up.

Speaker 2

The play of the match is presented by Emerald quin Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. What a moment and huge congratulations for Jordan Morris number eighty seven, now alone all time atop the goal list in club history. All right, two matches coming up for your Sounders, one having a broadcast, one not. The next match in Mexico. The team leaves

tomorrow for Mexico City. As Michelle said, they will face cruz Azul in Leg two of the CONCACAFT Champions League Round of sixteen down in Mexico City five point thirty on Tuesday night, five to thirty Tuesday. No radio broadcast for that. Next radio broadcast will be against Saint Louis City s C. That is coming up one week from today there and is going to be available on MLS

Season Pass on the Apple TV app. You can also listen Sports Radio nine to fifty AM and L thirteen sixty the Providence Swedish prematch show we'll begin at five o'clock there for Saturday, March fifteenth game against Saint Louis City SC that's away at Energizer Park in Saint Louis.

Speaker 3

And gentlemen, as we kind of wrap this really quick.

Speaker 2

The momentum you can get from this game, Kellen, you need a win or you can just go away on road goals and one to one will send you through to the quarterfinals.

Speaker 3

A conquer calf seems like this is a match winning five to.

Speaker 2

Two that can really add some momentum taking you into Tuesday in Mexico City.

Speaker 4

Absolutely, these guys, like I said, they're gonna be confidence, They're gonna be they're gonna be happy. But we have to make sure that this game isn't gonna be this This game in the Cruisers will is not gonna be the same as this LAFC game.

Speaker 5

You know, the rotation was there for both teams.

Speaker 4

It was a little bit of a lack luxer game, and we found a way to find our goals and continue to kind of lay it on. The one in Mexico City is going to be hard fought. It's going I'm not gonna be an easy game. The crowd's not gonna be on your side. You're traveling early, you're gonna be tired, So this is gonna be a different game. You had to kind of gotta grit your teeth and find a way to get a goal.

Speaker 6

It is gonna be a different game, no question. The crowd's going to be different than travel and all that. But they're going in with really a lot of energy right now and feeling great about themselves. And a lot of guys got time today and got confidence today, so they're going to go in. They like playing on the road. I like that they're leaving tomorrow for a Tuesday game, so they'll get settled in and I'm really excited about

that game. And Brian Schmester has options. And now now when Paul Rothrock, if he doesn't start and subs in, he's got confidence as well. He's got confidence. JP's got confidence. They all today was such there was not one player had a bad game.

Speaker 5

And for me, it's Jordan Morris because he's now got that off his back.

Speaker 4

He's already got the goal now, so now okay, go play free and find his you know, ten twenty, make that risks a little higher.

Speaker 5

But now he has that goal, off his back. It's no longer in his mind.

Speaker 6

He got three goals and three MLS games.

Speaker 2

Good for Jordan Tuesday five thirty in Mexico City for Leg two of the CONCACAF Round of sixteen. We'll all be watching together there on Tuesday at five thirty. Once again from Lumnfield.
