Transcript

Welcome to Sounders Fcsucker. Tonight, your Seattle Sounders FC faced the San Jose Earthquakes. Sounders FC Sucker is brought to you by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. Now time for Sounders FC sucker. Good evening from PayPal Park in San Jose, California, where your Sounders take on Western Conference rival the San Jose Earthquakes. Well, it's a sorry story for San Jose so far this season, with four losses from their first four games.

Desperate for a win to get their season going, they have remained optimistic but realistic. To get back into the playoffs, they need to get points on the board quickly and not let that gap grow In a very competitive Western Conference. For the Sounders, it's rinse and repeat. Execution in the final third is the focus this week, as it has been for the entire month. A disappointing second home draw against Colorado last week indicative of their early season struggles.

This time last year, the Sounders were reflecting on a four nil hammering of Colorado. Now they are seeking some inspiration from their very talented squad of players. Well, March Madden has started this week, and the only thing the Sounders are seeking is a little calm. Dean Smith often stated during this time of the year, survive and advance. Grinding out a win is all the Sounders care about, and they really don't care how they do it.

My name is Danny Jackson alongside former Sounders captain Brad Evans for the call tonight. So Brad, let's get right into it. We've been here before, we've talked about it, trying to get this season going. How does it happen tonight? Well, the rain's starting to fall, so there's a familiar setting for the Sounders. Two teams desperate for a result, and we've seen this San Jose a team come with a lot of pressure in years past,

and tonight, I don't think it's going to be any different. When you smell and you see that lineup of a lot of new guys coming into the Sounders line up with a lot of injuries, San Jose's got to be licking their chops, and for the Sounders, it's all about getting the job done, like you said, and playing a good brand of soccer. Though that we haven't seen too much the first half of the last game. Great, but now can we get that complete performance. It's got to be here tonight

and get three points. Well, some familiar names back at the lineup. We'll get to that as the team start to get going. The Sounders in their anniversary kit of green shirts with blue pin stripes, light blue shorts, and white socks, they'll be attacking the goal to our left, to the biggest and largest bar in North America. I think that's what they market this as. Facing the airport San Jose in their dark blue shirts, black shorts

and black socks are attacking the goal to our right. Big game for both teams, both teams looking for that elusive first win of the season. The Sounders are much changed starting eleven unless we mentioned and Jackson has talked about as the teams get going here at a crisp evening. It's been off and on showers all day and as Brad said, the rain's starting to come down. It should slick up this field. As Yemart goes up and wins that first

head, a first start for Yamar. Back in the lineup, the ball goes over the top, skipping off the surface while played by New off his chest towards the left hand side, right in front of the assistant referee through the legs of Espernoza from the left back as Jackson Reagan spreads the ball all the way across the far side the right comes back to Stephan Fry with his first touch of the season. Of course, picking up an injury in training

took him out of that first game against LAFC. But back into the lineup now after Andrew Thomas having played so many solid games in replacement of Stephan Fry. As we have a player down in Tevis getting his first start of the year, so let's get to that delta starting eleven for your Sounders. As Jackson and Pete discussed many changes for Brian Schmitzer, step and Fry comes back into the lineup as goalkeeper back four. Roll down yamar In to the starting

lineup alongside Jackson Reagan in the middle. Knew who on the left hand side, so Taqi Tahara with his first MLS regular season start for the young man. He'll play alongside Danny Laver in the middle of the field. So two changes in the starting lineup in the middle of the park. Dylan Tevis getting his first start of the season on the right hand side, Christian Roaldan shifting

from right to left. He'll start on the left hand side rail. Rudiez sits in behind Jordan Morris up front as the Sounders sit high top of the box. It's gonna be a change in lineup as well. We'll get to San Jose's starting eleven in just a few seconds. As they build out the back, Jordan Morris high press chasing down Rodriguez blows to Costa, the goal scorer last week and their two to one loss against Sporting Kansas City. New

player sitting on that left hand side. As the ball goes all the way back to Stephan Fry, decked out in a bright fluorescent yellow outfit tonight, the ball his left foot goes over the head of Christian Rolled on it's near side. The right ball goes through the middle, almost evades, but as

Jama stepping in winning again. Twenty twenty three interceptions per defensive player as they have it on the right side, which pressed and judge Espino's a well closed down first involvement by Danny Laver cleaning the distribution gets knocked in the back late. We'll see if the referee pulls that back. But the Sounders are in transition shifts the ball center to the right. Jordan Morris won't be one of us. A cost that comes inside top of the box on his left foot

holds up the ball. Little combination will roul inside the box, tries to find TeVeS clicked away by San Jose. It's gonna trickle on the far side for a throwing for the Sounders. As Danny Laver just nursing a bit of a back injury. The Sounders have thrown it back in. It's a late blow to the back by Danny Laver bred it look. It's a fast start from this game. You saw San Jose come out and high press from the start. The first ball back was a launch ball four and the Sounders under

the gun. They do well to play out of pressure. And as we watch that real plays hard for sure on the playforence, I'm not sure who it was from San Jose, but it's a legitimate elbow straight into the back of Danny Lev. I'm surprise they're not gonna take a look it down. I think you can yellow card a guy after a play, but that's the battle that you're gonna be in tonight. Welcome to the game, Danny Leva, I'm gonna get stuck in. You know, that's that first challenge that

we talk about always in soccer. Can you get the first one in and set the tempo. Danny in the back of his head right now, I was thinking, oh boy, I'm in for one tonight. Well, let's not forget last week when the play went through josh At Tensho got pulled back, got a second yellow card for his red court us all off guard and San Jose pick it up, Kickingovich coming into the lineup to new signed Morales to Marie. Building slowly but surely as San Jose looking for their first points

of the season. Four losses out the first four games. As the Sounders start to build, kit Tahara, with his first real involvement, gets the ball out to the far side the right. No run down the line, Alex Wroldon has to come back. Sounders just gonna be patient. Giveaway by Danny Laver try to play the ball around the A side. They'll clip into the middle of the bucks. Good defending by Yema takes it off. Shakiras

inside the box, but San Jose come again. Flick around the outside to Espinoza almost goes down both to the top of the bucks, clipped away by Keita Haa. Dylan Tever is able to turn out of pressure. Well played by the young man, goes back to Alex Swell. Dan slips it down the line to Keith Tahara. Con't keep it in. It's gonna be a throw in for san Jose. But quick start to the game, Brad, Quick start for the game. You'll see san Jose. Alfredo Morale has played

with him with the national team. He's, you know, a former US men's national team member. These guys that has played in the Bundesliga before. He's experienced. He's very, very good with his feet, but he will make that, you know, two or three mistakes per game. And he saw that on the air and pass and the Sounders must then gain possession and keep the ball. They just give the ball away in their own half. You see this front four of San Jose just winning. You got one on

the far side on Alex's shoulder while he's marked up. You got two up top, and then you got Espinoza running this line. And that's the last thing you want is to give Espinoza most importantly that ball. And you see how dangerous that it can't beat. Paul Marie comes inside, taking off his toe by Christian Waldn. He goes down to the deck. Sounders don't have to stop the play. Off course, eventually he's a clip on the heel left. Dylan Saver, so let's get you that. San Jose lineup a

couple of changes for the Earthquakes as well. Sounders get going. Play it down Paul Marie. The Sounders don't care. They'll keep going. Top of the box, left hand sight. Jordan Morris to his left foot, strikes it low. Good saved by Yarbro Carny kick to the Sounders. Let him stop the play, arms up in the air by all the Earthquakes. Referee should have stopped to play. The ball was dead, Brett. Sounders got going. The ball is dead. You can see that he's okay. He's

not waving to the sideline for anyone to come on. He just got stepped on him. Referee allows the Sounders to play. And that's where Jordan is most dangerous. When he's isolated one on one on this left hand side. You know what's coming. It's gonna come to his left foot, and he does get that shot off pretty quick to go near a post, a decent save from yarbro Well. Jordan Marris is already more involved in today's game than he has been the prior minutes of first three games of the season. Of

course, that game and gets Philadelphia stopped and suspended after six minutes. Ball and in coming freak corner kick by Danny Labor headed clear by San Jose, picked up by alexrol Dan fars side the right closed down by Chicaris isn't able to get there. The ball goes towards the center of the box, headed clear by Kickingovich find us up back to Danny Lave With this sound is left but whips it in towards the far post, half clear by San Jose's picked

up by the sound as good bit of sustained pressure. Now ball of the foot of ral Riy Diaz blocked out by Yule, but the Sounders again able to pick the ball up. When I sand to talk about Danny Laver having good quality on his delivery taking corner kicks for today's game, we'll see if it's to be both right and left. The Sounders just take a minute, take a breath, and with that we'll give you the lineup for San Jose, William Yarborough getting his first start after coming in from Colorado in goal.

See news is flying down the left hand side. We'll get that lineup in a second. Ball goes off Paul Marie over the and line for a corner kick for the Sounders. Let's get you the final players in that lineup. Paul Marie in the right, right back, Wilson, Rodriguez and Kosta on the left, Morales and Yule in the middle, Espinosa on the right to kiar Us on the left, Kickanovich and Preston Judd as your number nine Sounders.

Freak corner kick this left hand side, this near side the left sibby an inswinger Danny Laver to have us about ten yards away providing some support, but it comes into the bark good delivery, header just wide. It was a chance from six yards. It was Yema freeheader glances white gold. Kick remains nil nil, but Brad a great chance for the Sounders. Well, good start for the Sounders. That's you know, three or four services into the box. You don't often see that from this squad early on in away

games, and that's a great service. And Yemar finds himself free and I don't know how that's not on frame because that's from you know, seven or eight yards to the ground. Yamar's got to do better there. Not known for his aerial prowess on goal, but you have to do better there as a center back, especially playing from away from home, you don't get many of those chances. But well done from the Sounders, sustained pressure putting San

Jose kind of on the on the on the back foot here. Gotta make some chances, bit more opportunities where a will finding some good spots here. Shifting from left to right, Danny Leiva has a top corner of the box, comes to left to Christian Baldona shift from his traditional right hand side midfield spot to the left to commodate TeVeS a bit of a shifting lineup. The ball goes down the right inside to Judd this near side the right, just

a few yards from the system referee. He comes inside top of the box twenty yards from god left foot first save for Steph and Fry to his right, he is able to gather it well. Sounders not a chance, but it was San Jose in transition shot and target remains nil nil Sounder's doing well there defensively right. They know that Espinosa wants to get the ball, They know that Judd is looking for Espinoza there, and they do the right thing

right. Put John on his left foot and hope that you know a shot from distance eighteen You know almost twenty twenty five yards out that Steff's gonna be able to handle it on his left foot. Now we regain some possession, go forward. I think we can regain a breath as well. This has been a fast start. It was a san Jose on the front foot in the first few minutes. Sound as to be able to pick up the pace. It's back and forth so far, good challenge by the labor top of

the box, clean challenge. But forward to the far post, clipped in by Esperinoza. He's gonna skip through to the far side. Saved by san Jose for a split second, but TEBs is able to pick it up. Just gonna roll the ball into Quitahara. I saw a clean touch by the young man, only played three minutes prior to tonight in regular season, gets

his first start. As Brian mentioned in our production meeting, Kita Haa really is the true the only true number six of the clubs, so An Schmittz had decided not to move a Christian roll down back or an Alex rolled on to the middle, keep the back four solid. With the introduction of Yamar and fry Back into that defensive lineup that led the league life she with thirty two goals against. It's a gonna sli Keizahar into that number six longside labor

both getting the first start of the season. Flick around the corner by Ruiy Diaz, Christian rolled on left foot, blocked by Wilson Cliff long and far by Marie Good headed by Jackson Reagan. It's gonna be a real challenge free kick given to San Jose. Good movement from the Sounders here. It starts with Yamar in the back and it's just a little slipball inside to out and then it comes through a little touch there from Jordan and a cheeking little move

from Raoul to find the left hand side. And I think Christian does the right thing here. It takes a touch and just go ahead lace it. Why not. Jordan's there sitting at the back post. Name for that back post. If anything happens comes through a deflection and if you're gonna give a foul, it's always in the in San Jose defensive third. Eleven minutes gone here at PayPal Park on nine fifty KGr am. Wherever you're listening to us in the car, streaming at home, syncing up with the Apple broadcast.

Thanks for joining us. As the rain came down, it stopped. Now the San Jose come down the far side, the left legs stuck out by Yema. Free kick for San Jose and dangerous position, left channel chance for them to whip a ball in. Well. The biggest difference here is the way that this pitch is gonna play. It's way faster than anything that the Sounders have experienced, I think so far this season, especially playing a number of games at home. That new turf in Seattle plays really slow. It's

very predictable. The ball you can overhit. And here on this pitch, the grass is short. The rain just came down, and as soon as you think you got to touch and the ball is gonna be slow, you stick your foot out and all of a sudden, the player's gone. Sounders have to be careful. I know that the new training facility does have that, you know, kind of slippery pitch that we talked about earlier this week. Hopefully they'll lean on that. Does this have moves on and they're moving

the ball quick right. That's what you want, did Chakirius and Espinosa's Espinoza. This trusty right foot comes into the far post, headed by Rodriguez, headed clip by Danny Leavi, but we'll played by the sound essential midfield player. It's gonna run out over the end line for a corner kick fort San Jose. But its Espinoza with that quality on the right foot. One hundred and ninety eight corner kicks last year. Put that into context, the Sounders

had two hundred and two in total led the league. Here he is on the far side the left in swinger with his right foot. The players lined up front ever of the box. Hedriguez flanked by Knew who trying to get in front of making sure that he's the player that's gonna reach it if he goes short, so f and Fry two arms up in the air. Ball comes in sent to the part flight over the end line. Gold Kate remains nil nil, but chance for San Jose, and you know the service is

gonna be good from Espinoza every single time. And it's interesting with San Jose did that They brought a guy almost on the in the front of the six and then everyone lines up. You know that. You know what when the when the ball is consistent, you know it's gonna come to the six yard box. That's what they do. You had four or five guys sitting on that six and sure enough that ball came to where it needs to be.

The Sounder is lucky. Good play by Alec troll Donal's able to break pressure, giveaway by Danny Labor, just a couple of loose passes by young midfield players. He finds his feet this first start since the fall of twenty twenty two. Been a number of years. He got nineteen games last year for Colorado, but for the Sounders he hasn't said since Sporting Kse back in October

of twenty two. So, as you know, Brad, it's just takes a couple of minutes to get the speed of the game, get rid of those initial nerves, and once you make a couple of passes, I'm sure settling's a game. Yeah. That was a messaging from Schwetz this week was we don't need these guys to do anything spectacular right, Danny Lava has shown that he can do a sota. Yes, get into the game, but as a number six, the play is generally in front of you, and

it makes things a little bit easier now. Playing out wine on the wing, you're expected to produce, You're expected to get the ball in the box and take guys on. But as a youngster, when you're just getting on the field, yes, the first couple you connect, you get your feet underneath, you get used to the field, and then you start to play

your game. And what made him so successful in college and why the Sounders drafted him and brought him to the first Seamon and they're giving him a chance to night throwing for San Jose. This near sight the right with Paul Marie challenged by Christian Roldan, The ever trusty Christian Roldan can play anywhere on the field. Pete Hewing often says, a Swiss army knife type of player. Don't let you Brad play pretty much anywhere. It could be dependable the first

name of the team. She often I'm sure Carles gets knocked down by Kitaha just sticking his foot in there. That's a good place to make a foul and the offensive half of the field for the Sounders and San Jose. Get get the game going quickly. Speedy games so far first fifty minutes have flown

by a couple of says won by Yarbro. This right foot in that near post by Jordan Morris and a shot from distance from Judd that sep and Fry in his first start of the twenty twenty fourth season, was able to collect it comfortably. His ball goes long headed on by Paul Judd, press and Judd, who's able to flick it on, came in from La Galaxy after a good first season in MLS or goes from center to this near side the left. Jordan Morris isn't able to keep it in and here comes San Jose

again. Get the game going and some real pace with Jackson, Yule Club captain number fourteen. It's gonna shift it from center the fast side the left costa new signing coming in from Portugal. The Brazilian with Wilson also came in from Portugal in the offseason. Couple of new signings, one of them Pellegrino, is injured today. Forty nine goals in two years Golden boot winner in Norway for the last two seasons, is out today due in to injury.

As Paul Marie picks it up, whips it in who is able to evade Jackson Regan, who puts his right foot out, clears the ball. Here comes San Jose again as Jakiris shifts it from center to far side the left to Coasta. Certainly, Bred looks like both the left back and the right

back for San Jose, a good in possession lights to push forward. Paul Marie has it just insight from that right back spot coming back to Wilson, another new signing for San Jose as they try to replicate last season's early season four four losses in the first four games, and Lucci Gonzalez has talked about, you know, he's liking what he's seeing, but light the Sounders, is that execution, the final fit that's been really missing from that game.

We see they really want to push forward the two center backs when they get the baller almost in the Sounders half about ten twelve yards, and that's imposing on the Sounders defense. Do the forwards then drop in? Do they just sit high and sit on the two center backs? But you saw it there, they're lacking that last pass right, they get into good positions, they have the ideas. Now it's the execution part of it and the flip side for the Sounders. Can you get your two strikers to get a little bit

higher. Yes, we're Al's playing with drawn. But put the two center backs under pressure because at some point they're gonna have to pull someone back and not go two for two. And I think talking about Christian and Tevez are right. When you don't have two, you miss that unpredictability that he brings. But now you add that consistency and it's all about what the Sounders wanting. Away from home, a little combination almost goes from Brewie Diz to Kid

Tohire a free kick given by the referee. Protests by the San Jose players seemed to be a reasonably clean coming together of players, But the referee is going to give the Sounders this free kick forty yards or so from Yarborough's goal, dead center of the field, a chance for the Sounders to push up that big men. It comes to Yema, he comes Jackson Reagan. The Sounders certainly have the firepower in terms of height and aerial ability. Haven't managed

to execute too much last season or the early part of this season. Both goals, of course from pks. So far in the season haven't scored a golfrom open players. The ball gets clipped in, isn't able to evade Rodriguez,

who heads it clear that Sounders are going to pick it up. We'll play by Christian rolld On it's near side the left, who just stumbles slightly, goes back to Danny Labor was able to clip it well down the left hand side with Teve has made a little dancing run in behind and clects the ball off his chest, comes to Christian Roldon comes in those right foot header clear by San Jose who was Jordan Morris almost got to the end of it. Frea kicking by the referee, little nudge in the bat by Tevez.

It's the sound is such a retreat, but Bradditt's it's good pressure. It's Bryce Schmittz in the first nineteen minutes with so many changes, I mean, so many new players coming back into the lineup with Jema and Fry of course, but tevees Kitaha Labor pretty happy so far. Yeah, Well, to my point, it's predictability, right, when Leo Chu is in there he

picks up that ball. Where Christian does, he's most likely going full speed into the box, and then your two strikers aren't sure what's gonna happen after that. There, Christian gets the ball, he knows that he's got two strikers in the box, the service is coming. The same will happen from that right hand side. When TeVeS picks up the ball as well. The striker's got to know that. That's the type of player he is. He's not going to make you think about where the ball's gonna go. You're in

a system. You have two guys on the wings that are gonna play offense, they're gonna play defense, and they're gonna provide service to Jordan and Rowell as much as they can. Dylan Tevis, his first start tonight since May of last year against Austin, look comfortable in a couple of his touches. Top goal scoring pre seasons, Brian Schwitz reminded us today with two with two,

that's still top scorer. Or get shifted the near side to the far side for San Jose, clipped in by coaster foot of Danny Lave managed to clear the ball finds christ and Roldar is able just to stride forward in his half of the field, finds Danny Lave across the half way line. Some pressure from Morales clattered into for the second time in this game. His simon

is a free kick given by the referee, Gabrielle Kiampi. It's the fifth week of referees filling in for the regular MLS refs, who continue to work with the league on what they're looking for. I think we're gonn all agree. The referees have stepped in without too much experience in MLS really doing a

decent job. Ball goes into Jakiris finds it well to Kickinovich fast side the left Lord one B one versus Yemar and there's the experience of Yemar steps in and yes, Brad Oriaga did a great job, as did Nathan, but so good to have Yama back into the lineup. Look, it's like having Chad Marshall out of the lineup. And yes, myself, Zack Scott, you know we could all fill in there, but it's just different when you got a guy like that who's done it before and done it as such a

high level. There's a presence about it. There's a calmness and there's an experience that a lot of guys just don't have. And the Sounders are blessed to have four really good center backs right now. Makes it tough, But at the end of the day, when you watch this performance so far, there's a reason why Right leads interceptions, forcing guys out of bounds, you know, recovering the ball, being calm with the ball. There's just that

different level that we talk about, and he's got it right. You know, we still got you know, seventy minutes to go, but so far, twenty minutes back into this starting lineup. That's exactly what you want from Yemar And of course it allows Jackson that comfortability as well to go to his side as much preferred side. And now can they get more involved in springing Tevez? Can they get more involved in springing Christian Rolldon and Jordan over the

top and mixing up their play? But that leadership goes unspoken into why he's thrust back into the starting lineup. I don't think Ariyaga or Nathan can ask any questions Espinoza on this. On their side. The right fifteen yards for the inline goes in short said by Christian Voldan, finds ahead of Jordan. Wis class it into Bjrodriguez. Nothing given by the referee. Eventually whistle goes into his Mouth's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders plus Raoul and Jordan.

He's last ten minutes being reasonably quiet. Jordan only five touches on the game so far. Roul eight the US Bryce schwetz A mentioned to us, and it reminder us last week. It's not about touches for your number nine. It's about chances on goal. Jordan Morris had one chance in transition with his left foot saved by Yarborough. Remember the great number nines, of course, barely touched the ball. It's all about find the back of the net.

Sounders have it in possession. So far, so good for the Sounders. As we get here, tries to find Keetahwer, tries to find the quick run of Tev's in behind, but here comes Santos in transition center to this near side the right, with Preston Judd in transition slashing run by Esperaneursa on the outside, comes back into his left foot, curls it high and wide golfkick Sounders remains here in the twenty third minute. No no oh,

that comes from Sosa. They're losing that ball. At the next level, everyone defensively is baiting you into playing a vertical ball to a vertical run, and Tevis comes inside asking for the ball. You never make a vertical ball to a vertical run. It's always a diagonal ball. Then you can play it vertical right and vice versa. And so he's just got to know that everyone on the field is baiting him into that and you cannot lose the ball

in that position. That is your job to keep possession. This is the second second time so far, and when San Jose gets it, they're coming forward quick. So I think, just settle down and just connect your pass. No one's gonna get mad at you for going side to side or back to front. And if you do play it forward, it's got to be a massive window and there's no excuse for you losing the ball. It feels like defensively, so far, so good for the two young players in the

middle. Now it's just about getting the foot in the ball and just manage to get a little bit of teen pope. The ball goes down the Ryans side. Espinox just flicks it around, keeps possession, clips to the outside of his foot. Well red by Tevis comes across defensively and picks up the ball, rolls it to Christian Bold on outside the foot. That's a tricky

ball. Eventually almost finds Royerridz as Morales goes down wins the ball. Hadriguez picks it up, drives past the halfway line, rolls it to kickanovitch fast side the left, challenged by Alex Roldan well done by Alex Roldon defensively just manages is to find a ball and keeps possession back to Yema. Sounders FC

Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. So we're here at PayPal Park in San Jose, Sounds looking for that first winner their season as our San Jose, San Jose in fourteenth, last place in the Western Conference. Sounders in thirteenth, sitting on two points. Opening season loss against LAFC, of course, and then two home draws against Austin and Colorado, disappointing a lot of different ways. Outshot Austin twenty three to two.

We're leading Colorado even with ten men all the way to the eighty seventh minute and a great say by Andrew Thomas and fortunately wasn't followed up by the Sounders, and it was followed up by Cabral who was able to put it in from all of a yard to an open goal, the easiest goal he's going to score in his career. Sounder's habit throwing in the hands of Nude goes down the line to roll down, simple push. We could see it

sis a refereeze right there that gave nothing. Bull goes down the line towards the end line and seems got enough juice to go out it does Nude just ship is it over the end line for a goalkick for the sound who remains nil nil? I think for both teams forcing the ball forward a little bit

too much. It's too much transition away from home so far. Yeah, when you win the corner kicks great, and then you get the ball into the box because you're surrounding the opponent's eighteen, you might as well take a chance. But it's every ball forward now from midfield that's getting cut out for both sides, and you're just seeing a lot of scrappiness. A lot of fowls called. Who's going to maintain possession right, Who's gonna put their foot

on the ball and dictate tempo. That's gotta be Leva, It's got to be soda. I don't care if Rowel screaming for the ball. I don't want to run forty yards up when you give the ball away. I want to make sure that we're in good shape and keeping the ball every time we get it. Good ball by Ruddas finds the foot of Tavazude clipped in off that right hand side, tries to flip the ball over the top, rolls across into the eighteen into the hands of Yarborough. For Jordan morris's been a

little dashing run in between Wilson and Rodriguez. Dani lavor good preseason for the young man. I spoke to him this week. He's just excited to get some minutes. The opportunity Atensio of course, gets that red card opens up a spot in the middle of the field. Yar Paala is still out injured. Dan A Lava felt like he was the next man up, and then of course Vargas picks up an injury in training this week. That opens the

door for Keita Harra. Good driven ball all the way from center to right, but cut out well by Coaster Sharp so far on that left hand side. Lots of players missing for both teams, both an international duty and injuries. The ball goes back to Yarboro. A little bit of pressure from Alex walled on the play by the Sounders, just picking up the tempo defensively is the border top lock twenty five yards. Good strike by Rory. He has

eventually collected easily by Yarborough. But Brad, that's what you get by Rude. He has the ability to shoot from distance. But I think that's all from Alex. Rolled on right playing as a right back, ball turns over, he pressures the goalkeeper. There's something to be said about putting in that extra effort. Funny enough, when you pressure a goalkeeper, you end up with a throw in in good space. Raoul picks up the ball quick transition.

It is a little far out for Raoul to catch. Yarbrough, although undersized goalkeeper, very athletic, played with him a number of times in the US team as well, and his ability to make save. He's a veteran in legat MX He's an experienced goalkeeper, and I think for San Jose he just provides a little bit of something more with his feet, the ability to play out of the back. But like I said, the pressure from Alex rolled on. That's something we haven't seen in the past away from home.

Put the goalkeeper under pressure, put the center backs under pressure. Good things happen when you give that extra effort. It's gonna free kick Fasan Jose with Jackson Reagan into the back of Jut. It's gonna be Espinoza with his right foot just three yards tucked in from his knar side. The right whips him with that right foot towards the post. Played well by Danny Lavoch, slipped initially, managed to get his right foot and it rolls out for a throwing

for San Jose. So far for the Sounders, just keeping the ball away from Stephan Fry. Both teams are playing on the front foot so far. No goals here at Paytpal Park. Whatever happens at halftime, don't go away, Jackson and Pete. We're back to break all of it down. Hopefully as we get into these final fifteen or so minutes, Sounders find a way

to open up the score sheet, get on the board. Ral Rudy has of course, just flying with confidence last week tying Freddy Montero with seventy nine all time goals for the Sounders, looking for his eightieth to lead that category. As the ball with Laver goes from center to right, well played, collected off the foot of Tevis that came over his left shoulder, wasn't able

to keep it in bound. It's gonna be a throwing for San Jose on this near side the right sounds pressed from that throwing, as Brad mentioned, just higher pressed by the sound as Jordan Morris doing that certainly is at number

nine this season, playing at that high press. Clipped forward by Kickinovitch on the chest of Jackson Reagan a little loose from the pass to the outside of his right foot, but Alex rolled down on the far side the right, it's able to collect it come back inside with pressure from coaster, goes back to Jackson. Reagan shifts it from center to this near side the left of Tavot, who shifted left now pushing all down gone to his traditional right hand

side. Two players switching up roles. Little loose in the past by Rudy has given away to Kickinovich and San Jose able to build from the back. For this copyrighted audio casts of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. Get here in the thirtieth minute, remains nil nil, the bottom of the table teams both looking for their first win. San Jose no points coming into this week.

That's only matched by New England Revolution new coach Kayler Porter villain for the Sounders, of course, having coached at Portland, taken over at New England, struggling in the early parts of the season, well played by k Tahara managed to step in. When the Borrodriguez recovers, San Jose retained possession. Braddy, it might be five individual changes in terms of personnel, but it's seven changes positionally when you think about roll Done coming from right to left and

Jackson going from right center back to left center back. But so far, as you mentioned, it's about structure. What the Sounders have done is been consistent under Brian Schmittz. Playing that four two three one, Yeah, I

think it's something that Schmitzer has learned from the past. And I think two or three years ago you saw the Sounders away from home, they might go in a three to five to two and drop five back defensively, but away from home against a team that has no wins, I'm not sure there's a reason to change things up too much. And what a great game for some of these guys as first one, because San Jose just doesn't provide much.

And I think it's a lot to say about the atmosphere as well, because I think if your fans aren't behind you, it's hard to create any magic on the field, and vice versa. It's hard to create magic on the field if you don't hear the fans. I mean, we can't hear anything. Everyone's sitting down, say for their San Jose ultras right there, and that's about it. I mean, you don't see anyone clapping about four dozen. Yeah, everyone's just kind of watching and here for some sort of entertainment.

So I think for the Sounders, these young guys come into this atmosphere, it's a good one to get your first test. It hasn't mean happy hunting for the Sounders over the last couple of years here at PayPal Park. Three wins and a tie in the last four for San Jose two wins out of two last year one here one at Lumen of Coross the Heritage Cup. Going back sixteen years, sound is still leading that catch agory eight wins versus San Jose seven. There's been San Jose have led the pack of the last

couple of years. All goes into the box long by Paul Marie, headed clear by Jacks Reagan on top the chest of Espinoza, striking his left foot right down the chest of Sep and Fry rolls it out quickly to Alex Roldan advanced on that far side. The right comes into Keitahara Sounders retaining possession.

So far, so good for the Sounders as they for down possessions. You expect to be away from home forty four percent possession for the Sounders, but it's all about the home team trying to put the foot on the gas and play the initiative. Sounders are set up well to play on the counter. They've got some speed with rolled on of course, and then Morris over the top Sell be able to keep that possession as the ball goes into Alex Roldan, who skips in from that right hand side goes square to Ruy Diaz.

Middle of the field comes to this near side the left Alex Rolt pushing rolled on clip towards that far post. Heady clear by Rodriguez finds the foot of Alex rolled down the far side towards the corner. Flag Challenged by two San Jose players comes off. One of those shins goes over the end line corner cake for the sound As remains Neil Neil bred Evans. Yeah, we're thirty three minutes into this game. This is a game that the Sounders should win.

San Jose doesn't provide pretty much anything in attack. The two off front seemed disinterested. They're really almost like the old school San Jose, just mumping balls forward and hoping that something happens. Yeah, they're decent in the midfield, but the Sounder's got to provide more here. They gotta put San Jose under pressure. They gotta smell blood in the water and make something happen on these set pieces. So you do all the work, and now you gotta

reward yourself. Danny Lava outsinger his right for good delivery again. Top of the six yard bucks headed by Jordan Morris goes over the end line could be a goal kick. But Rynchavetza talked about delivery. We asked him, hey, has Andy Ro's done anything up his sleeve from a set piece standpoints Sounders two hundred and two corner caicks last year didn't really execute as much as you'd expect with the height of Jackson. Reagan didn't get on the score sheet last

year. Of course, Yemar did up in Vancouver. He said, it's all about delivery. Attack the ball, put the ball in the right areas and then as Yemar had that chance, headed it wide. Sounders have it again. Raurodiaz and his left hand side just tucked in, just floating around, trying to find pockets of space. As he gets more involved in the game, sound is building some possession and attacking half of the field. San Jose just dropped back in their banks of four low block for the men in

Blue. As the Sounders attack this goal to our left and their anniversary kit on every single game so far, as the ball gets clipped down the line to Tever's the one we want comes inside, little nudge at the back by Kosa Jackson, Yell comes away with it for San Jose. Skips by the referee middle of the park, comes to this near side the rights Esperosa.

You haven't seen San Jose too much in that four to two four formation as they've often play under Luchigan's Oh it's a little pressure by Tevez on Horodriguez able to skip clear of the sound as attacker again given away cheaply by Jakiras. And that's been the name of the game so far. Both teams just ball given away at the inopportune times, and some kind of tempo has been kind of lacking at certain times. Oh. Look, if the Sounders are at

full strength, I think they walk through this game. But at the end of the day, you have to make plays happen. And even though you're away from home, yes, but you're in the same formation. The same thing goes as Jordan picks up the ball here coming back showing shallow. Now can you get into the attacking half and make something happen. It does require

a little bit of magic. You can't just go side to side. Paul goes into the feet of Ruydiez twenty five yards from gold, managed to skip clear of the back four comes to new whip sitting comes off the chest Prodriguez initial shout for handball, but nothing given by the referee. Paul goes over the top and again just loose by Espinoza. Not a play it, expectors Lucchi Gonzale. It's just clapping encouragement to his prolific number ten thirteen goals,

thirteen assists on his year last year. MLS All Star got a new contract in the offseason to reward his play as Raudiez just getting more involved Bred, just dropping a little deeper, just trying to get those touches. Yeah, I don't mind that. I don't mind Raoul dropping into connecting passes because ultimately gonna move San Jose's defense. Yeah, you might have to go a long, but then you win the second balls, or you pin him in in their own half, get up, pin him in cost turnovers. Now is

where you high pressure. Now is where you're tight. Now is where you make San Jose make a mistake. You don't do all that hard work for nothing and just let him out easy. Well, Raoul playing in that false nine, that number ten in replacement of Rosnight this on the bench, got some minutes last week. Eight goals against San Jose in his career, alongside eight goals against Portland La Galaxy Vancouver and I've been happy hunting for Raoul against

the San Jose who are also celebrating their fiftieth anniversary this year. Possession by San Jose inside their eighteen yard box managed to come clear this near side the right with Paul Marie rolls it into Espinosa no real pressure able to turn come back to Yule just maintains possession. But join us for Sounders Day at the Northwest African American Museum. Get free entry on Saturday, March thirtieth by wearing your Sounders FC gear. Fans and attendance will be entered to win an autograph

jersey. To learn more, visit NNAM Northwest dot org. And the Sounders come away with it nil nil here at PayPal Park in San Jose. Thirty eighth minute. So far, so good for Brian Schmitz's men. Playing away from home, pretty even games so far. A couple of chances on both teams is one from distance from Preston Judd easily saved by Sephan Fryn in the

goal tonight. After picking up an injury just before the first game against LAFC, Andrew Thomas coming in and really having a stellar three games for the Sounders and his replacement step Cleveland, of course, moved on in the off season to Austin. Andrew Thomas got the Nodders number two and really repaid that faith. As the ball comes into Ruidia as top of the box comes in to Christian rolled on inside on his right foot, litt clip around the corner to

his left foot, drives across Jordan Morris. Aw's a chat at the top of the six yard box Git Tahara block by Jordan Morris of old people and San Jose clear their lines. It was a chance for the Sounders as Amos steps in, Jakiras is able to find it's Preston Judd down the line one

v one against Jackson. Reagan will support com me from Alex rolled on now as the ball gets clipped from left the far side and noo as calm as you like, comes away from pressure mess pinersa know what Bryant Schmittz would ideally like to go away with it? Yeah, well he's from Neuho there and that's one where you saw the experience from Jackson, reg and San Jose breaks. He has a chance to go and make the tackle. But we've seen

that one before. Sometimes he's a little bit late on those. He keeps his feet, does a good job, slows the play down, allows the Sounders to get back, get set defensively. The line was good and it's poor service from Judd at the end of the day. But new Who deciding to chest that all down and kind of turn it inside of our own box. Dangerous play, but we expect nothing less from new Who. But on

the other side, it's it's a quick transition. It's good pressure that causes Jordan to get into the box and the Sounders don't come away with it. But the sounder sniffing here and I think if you're gonna pressure anyone, it's a left sided center back for the San Jose earth Quicks free kick get by

the referee Androdriguez has put some pressure on. And if you're looking from membership with ultimate flexibility, the flex membership allows you to choose the regular season matches you want in the seats you want, your matches, your way and more by texting flex to two zero six eight three seven goal Yarboro has it and showing all his experience. US men's national team player and in leone in Mexico, as Brad mentioned, his formative years before coming into MLS, most recently

with Colorado Rapids. And here comes san Jose in transition often senter to this near side the right Chakira is coming in with his first start of the season, rolls the ball in. Couldn't again play the ball into Judy, but it was Yama who again comes across blocks the shot goes over a corner cap remains nil nil, but again it was Jema's presence that did the job. San Jose showing some life here the sounder is unlucky not to intercept this ball.

Rodriguez again, the left sided center back that the Sounders are trying to make play the game. And then Espinosa does well and plays the ball wide and it's a good tackle at the end of the day from yay Mark. Second corner cap for San Jose, this time this near side, the right outswinger by Espinoza. Here it comes top of the box, headed clear by Yemar and then flicked away by Tevis Jackson. Mule picks it up, it's gonna float it in, clicks in and it's a goal. But we think

it's gonna be an off side. It looked like an off side. We'll see if Var says anything, but right now it's San Jose celebrating a goal. Cephan Fry's walking up to the referee, just making sure he's doing a check. As we look at the replay here as Teve has clipped it away, it was Jackson Mule came in and we'll just see what was it player walking and off and offside position in Preston Judd. Was he involved in the play because it didn't look like it was him that took the touch. Right

now, the referee's got his finger to his ears. Listen to vaa o kind comes from nowhere. I think it's a goal. I think the run from coastal comes from so deep that he's able to time it just in time. And it's a little flicked header the first one. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking, TeV as why no one's screaming time on the ball. He's certainly on side there, and no one gets up in time. Everyone's kind of lollygag in sleeping, thinking that everyone's gonna do someone else's

job. They're holding their hand up and it's a poor line from the Sounders as they take the first goal against him today, and that's what happens away from home. You give a team that can't connect a pass those set pieces, you're gonna be under trouble. The Sounders gotta find a way to get back into this game, create a little bit of something on their own. With only three minutes left in this hand, this half flew by today and

the Sounders will walk into that locker room wondering what happened. Well, Cosa with his second goal in two games. The bull goes over the top this time Judd one b one rolls. It ain't good save follow up by Espinoza unless that's enough side is the referee flag? Is this? A referee flag does go up? The celebrations are short lived, but the Sounders bred are gonna have to find that feed right now, take a breath and take the sting out of this game. Yeah, well, they get caught going forward.

It's that long ball and it's well timed run. This is gonna be close, as this one will probably be looked at once again. It's a decent save from staff that comes out the fingertips or the Sounders caught in transition once again. And we'll see what happens here. But like you said, get your foot on the ball and just get into halftime now. As the Sounders are caught under the gun here out of sorts in that back line. Moving forward, we're here in the forty fourth minute. We'll see how much

additional time is played. The referee just still taking a listen. It was Jackson Reagan who held his line as judg went over the top. It's gonna be close. He's on. It looks like he's on as well, this replay showing that as a referees var he's gonna go to the monitor and typically Brad as we know, when they go to the monitor, they're being told something that's not what the Sounders want to hit. Yeah, they don't want to hear this one from Marvi. You definitely on side unless they see something

on another crazy angle that we're not able to see. But it's a long ball. The Sounders get caught pushing forward too early and it's a quick little counter attack from San Jose once again, and what did we say when they play that front four, they play direct and everyone gets forward and the Sounders once again punish there and they'll have to go into this halftime most likely two mil down. Referee pushes Andersia, he's gonna there's a DA sign and the

goals given. Two goals in about a minute for san Jose turn this game upside down and now the Sounders have a mountain to climb. Well, like I said, you have to create your own atmosphere. If the crowd's not gonna be behind you, you got to create something special, and san Jose did that, fighting for the first set piece, second balls, not clearing your lines from the Sounders, you get punished. Then a minute later you try to go forward, you get caught on a counter attack, and all

of a sudden, this stadium has come to life. Will we talk? For close to forty minutes, the Sounders were doing that job, holding San Jose at bay, and all of a sudden, a couple lapses of concentration,

it's san Jose who are leading two goals to nil. Hope, what'll we talked about with the Sounders not providing enough pressure and not creating enough chances, with how laxadaisical san Jose was only attempting to win second balls, playing the ball out of bounds, playing the ball directly to Sounders, and then the Sounder is just calm too, calm, no urgency. If you smell that on the field, you gotta go, you gotta press, you gotta

create something. And now you find yourself too kneel down away from home with youngsters on the field. Have they dealt with this situation before? Not many of them. It's gonna be tough for the Sounders to get back in this game. I know at halftime they're gonna be ruined that one thinking what just happened. Well, Discount Tire get thirty percent short to average weight time when

you buy and book online at Diskaya toaut discount tire dot com. The slavor twist and twist out of pressure gets clipped by Kickinovich before you kick for the Sounders three minutes of had a time here on the end of the first half. Sounders need to go get back in the locker room, sort themselves out, take a breath, and then know that it's gonna be a big second half. With the men in green, You're gonna have to lean on as

much experience as they can. There's Jordan Morris out there, Raoul's out there, Christian Roldan's out there, Yama, step and Fry, Alex Roldan mixed in with the youth of the players. There's enough experience here just to take the temperature of the game. See this one out. Jackson Reagan plays it first time into Tavis knocks it back to Yama. There was a devastating blow. There was Costa and then Esperinosa. Inside a minute. Is really turn

this game upside down. Sounds habit fast side the right, little ball into its tethers Aquitahara back to Alex Roldan cours a rolling clock. Now in the stadiums, everyone gets to see if that's a loose ball by Yam or not what Brian Schmitzer wants. Giveaway middle of the field to Judd who broke through and had that initial shot saved by Fry. That Espinoza fold up and knocked into an empty net and it comes off Knew who for a throwing on this

near side the right. The blue smoke continues to linger around through the rain. They started again here as Paul Marie has it ball in his hand,

throws it inside the box fronted by Jackson Reagan. Heads are clear, not long by New who only finds the feet of Rodriguez thirty yards from gold middle of the field, goes left to coast of the op score of the opening goal for San Jose top corner of the box, A little combination with Jakiris goes over the end line for a goal kick for the Sounders, and there's a referees whistle to end what was a really disappointing last couple of minutes for

the Sounders. Victor Costa in the forty second minute, and then immediately after the kickoff, Espinoza finishes a follow up from a Stephen Fries safe to put San Jose Earthquakes two goals up here at PayPal Park grad Your final thoughts, Oh, you see the Sounders walking off the field, Like we said, just not enough from the Sounders moving forward listless and just not playing with enough

tempo to know that this is a defeated San Jose. And then you give them a chance and then they get into the game and now you're two nil down thinking oh no, not again. But we just saw it today Kansas City winning two nil at home against La Galaxy. La Galaxy scored three goals in eight minutes to win that game away from home, so they must come out and press and leave everything on the field today to at least get out

of here with some pride. Well, Pete Fewing, Jackson felt. So we're back to break it all down after the halftime break, and if any person that can give us some words of wisdom, some words of motivation, is gonna be Pete Viewing. So we'll see what he has to say. We'll see what Jackson has to say, and we'll be back for the second half where the sound is Gota have to find a way back into this game here at PayPal Park in San Jose. Now time for the Sounders e FC halftime show forty five minutes in the books at PayPal Park in San Jose and the Earthquakes leading your Sounders by a score of two to nothing, both goals coming very

late in that first half. It's Vitor Costa in the forty second minute, and then it's Christian Espinoza off the rebound in the forty third minute that happened right after on a counter attack. Pete, I don't know what to say, Danny said, if anybody can give some encouragement or some words of wisdom, it's you helped me out here because I got nothing. Well, yeah,

thank you, Danny. First, I'll tell you it's Brian is gonna be furious in that locker room because it's the second game in a row where a goal has come on a rebound and Seattle's late to the game, two guys behind. There's there's three San Jose players there that could get to it, and we're running to catch up. And that is simply not good enough. That's an effort thing, that's an awareness thing. I can see some pretty heated words in that locker room from the head coach, and I don't

blame him. It's just not been good enough. You know. We talk about a back four that plus a goalkeeper that we think, Hey, this is the best group we've gotten. We've given up two goals that we should not have given up. So, and then offensively we've been anemic, right and the crossing we didn't we haven't gotten much from the right side, haven't got much from the left hand side, and we've got to pick it up.

It's you know, right now, this would put us at the bottom of the table, right if they get three points and we don't get a single. But I think it's an effort thing, and I think it's an awareness thing, and it's a grit thing, and it's a who wants it

more thing, and right now San Jose wants it more. So it's a pretty frustrating spot to be in. And for these three guys that are getting their chance, Tev's Soda and Leva, Hey, this is your chance, and right if you make something of it, then then you get to stay on the field. And if you don't, then it's proven that the right guys were starting ahead of you. So there's some pressure on this team right now. If there is good news, there is good news that there's forty

five more minutes to go. One goal brings them right back into it. We've got to get something on a restart. We've got some big guys, our two center backs on a restart, getting forward and getting through the box smashing one home as possible. Jordan Morris is good in the air, so you know, we've just got to pick it up. But right now,

it's a real reality check for all those players. And I want to hear that Christian will John or Stephen Fry was in the locker room screaming at everybody's saying this isn't good enough, this is not who we are, and it's not gonna work. And I could also see Brian saying, okay, hey, Paul Rothrock is a hard working player, and I could see him saying, I'll put you in. I'll put Paul Rothrock in if he's ill outwork you right. Well, you talk about the wants, you talk about the

effort, you talk about the intensity. We talked, you know, during the game, off the air, we talked about the hunger of this team. Right now, it's a larger conversation that if this result holds, we're going to need to have a little bit of a not a therapy session, but we're going to have a little bit of an intervention in the postgame show, just talking to each other about, you know, the state of this team right now, because I think you hit on a great point there.

That's for the postgame show. Hopefully we don't have to have that conversation, but we have a lot to get to talking about the second half coming up. I think the three that are very good candidates to come off the bench hopefully very soon, Albert Russknack, Paul Roth, Danny Masovski. Those kind of three attacking players are the kind of players you need to get back in this game. Yeah, I would agree. I would agree, And russ Neck and Massovski they know that this is an opportunity.

Danny knows that he goes in and gets goals. That's what he was brought here to do. So we need a goal. We need a goal to get back in the game, to put some fear into San Jose and to get some momentum going. There's got to be more movements. There's got to be some more risk. You know, we had a free kick on the fifty yard line down to nothing, and we played at five yards and

San Jose had a high line. What if Jordan Morris checks and rolled down Ruydiez runs in behind, or what if Jordan Morris checks and they played over the top. But instead we don't even look up. We've got to look to score goals. We've got to look to go forward. We've got to look his some penetrating passes. And it can't just be sideways and back. It's it's got to be you got to get some diagonal balls and spring those

wide guys. We've got to get Tevez and Christian Moldan getting to the end line and cutting balls back, getting on the other the end, on the end of the other guy's crosses Tevis crossing, Christian's got to get on the end of that one and vice versus. So it's time to pick it up right now, and you know, throw some cups against the wall or you

know, it's it's tip over some tables. But there's got to be some heart that has to be evident in the second half when we start, or Brian is gonna have, you know, sub guys off and it's one of those where you sub a guy off and you go, you know, you just kind of look at him or don't look at him, right, you

know what you did? Yeah, yeah, I mean we're in a spot right now where the good news is we're in our fourth game of the year, right but the bad news is we're in our fourth game of the year right now, and we haven't got a win, and if San Jose wins this, we go to the bottom of the table for the Western Conference, so very very dangerous spot right now. Welcome back to PayPal Park in San Jose's a Sounders have a mountain to climb as they sit over

the kickoff right now with Rawriy Diaz the players. The Sounders came out early, got their words from Brian Schmetze. Sure I know on certain terms they're ready to go early, San Jose. For different reasons. We're out ready to go as well as the referee just holds both teams off to watch the clock click kick down from twelve seconds all the way down to zero. But Santos two goals up in the night here. It was a ruthless minute Towards

the end of that first half, Costa scored in the forty second. Espinoza a minute later scored in the forty third as a referee puts the whistle to his mouth and gets the game going. Here in this second half, as Jackson Reagan knocks the ball along, we'll see if there's a slight shift in formation. So Jordan Morris already on the left hand side, ball gets played into. Danny Labors strides forward, clattered into free kick early for the Sounders.

Brad, just what you want. Sada's playing on the front foot. We'll see how Schmidtz is gonna reorganize this team. Just what you want. I'm sure Schmitz was saying, get out of my locker room and get on the field and show me a better performance. You guys are better than this. And we talked about it at halftime, and we heard Jackson and Pete talk about it as well, that this Sounder team has to provide more in the way of attacking creativity. Yes, it's a it's a four to two

three one still, but someone has to show some magic. You can't just through the routines and expect to get a result that against another team that hasn't had a win on the season. But from the start a long ball forward Danny makes his presence welcome in this start of the second half, and it's a good opportunity for Raoul on the top of the box to shade into the

keeper's right well. As she said, perfect spot for Raoul. His right foot just sits about seven or eight yards to the left of the d at the top of the box, probably all of maybe twenty two yards or so from Yarborough's goal as he tries to organize his war But good early chance for the Sounder is here. So for a minute gone in the second half, Sounders have a free kick. Could be Rau ruy Diez of course, sitting on seventy nine goals. A little touched by Flavor, sure if that was

needed. The little back he'll just kind of took it out of stride for Raoul and I just never understood those. You have a direct free kick started the second half, puts thing on frame. What happened in Seattle last week. Direct free kick Towards the end of the game, keeper makes a save, everyone follows it up and it's the balls in the back of the net put it on frame. Just get it on frame. Yard Bro isn't that big in stature that he's gonna catch a ball. Get that one on frame.

Maybe there's a follow up. We didn't learn anything from last week, even though it was a defensive set piece for us last week. You could use those things every game that you can take. That's a good chance for the Sounders, a good start to the second half hee the game. Simple sometimes ball flutch around the corner, a roll done clear by San Jose as they absorb a little bit of early second half pressure from the Sounders, and we'll get that lineup for the Sounders. We just kind of take a minute

to see how this is set up. Jordan Morris is sitting on that far side the left as he collects it now from Jackson Reagan, little ball into Christian Roldan playing more than number ten. Mount looks like in behind ral Rudiez Bull goes into Christian Roaldoll his left foot blocked out by Wilson. Good start by the Sounders. Throw it on the far side the left touch for Jordan in the first half to shade it out to the to the left hand side.

Christian comes in as that number ten push rul All up top. Two free kicks now for the Sounders at the start of this half, more touches for Jordan. I think we'll find success out there again to Santos a defense, I agree. It's gonna be Danny Labor with the ball. It was a free kick, clumsy challenge by Esperinoza on the Sounders left channel, fifteen yards or so from the end line, just tucked in from that left side.

It's gonna be an in swinger with Danny Labor's right foot. Brian Schmitz, who talked about the quality of delivery, We've seen a couple of those corner kicks already get whipped it in that first half. Now it's a chance from the deck from free kick in swinger, there's right foot goes All. It's that far post easily collects by yard or a disappointing delivery by Labor. Let's get you that lineup and we're gonna try and adjust as the game happens.

Seven five, backing Gold for his first start of the season. Back and forth, roll down, Yeah, mar Reagan knew who Kei Tahara and Labor with it the first starts of the season. Dylan TeV is on the right, and we could have been of a shift in that for other three positions. Jordan Morris is gonna shift to the left, Chushion roll Don is gonna play as a ten, and then Raoul looks like he's gonna play up front off side given by the referee. Ball in the deck quickly with Danny

Leavi and just gonna get this ball going. I'm sure he's been instructed just to keep the ball simple. You mentioned it bred during halftime. Just sometimes that player in the middle of needs to connect balls and don't fill spaces. Well. Listen, if you're a number six, your job is to control tempo in the game. And if three out of the five times you get the ball and you give it to the other team, you are giving the advantage to the other groups. So my job as a number six is just

to go side to side. If it's open forward, I play quick. If not, I play it back, I get the ball. I control all the time. That was almost an example where you were saying Kidahara advance forward, ball turned over and then he was chasing back out to give away the free kick from a tack of them behind. San Jose has it and looks like they're gonna be set up exactly the same way. We'll get that

lineup just the second. As they build on this left hand, sid could step by Keita Haarra back to Tevis dragged down by Costa, the goal scorer of that first goal you mentioned, a forty second minute goal and a forty third minute goal. Just a dagger before that first half who went to var It's pretty obvious from the replay that Jud's running behind as Jackson Rae can try to step up and get him off side, shifts it from this near side of the right to the far side. Good ball by Yemo to Jordan Morris's

the one B one. It's Paul Marie comes back, slows down, comes to Danny Labor square to Quita Haara. Just keeping tempo, just needs to hold his position. As brad Evans said, let's keep that San Jose lineups Yarboro and Gola back for Marie, Wilson, Rodriguez, Costa, Morales alongside Yuel in the middle of the park, Jakiris, Espinoza Kickanovich and the attacking three, and then Preston Judd up front. Moll click down the line that's near side the right to tether as it goes up, tries to flick it.

It's gonna hold up, not go over the end Linejdriguez gonna have to chase it down. He just steps by Tevor's a little bit too easily as he carries the ball forward. Jordan Morris adding another line of defensive pressure. Wilson just side steps Ruy Diaz gets out of pressure, rolls into Paul Marie on the far side the right, plays it into the foot of Judd Good

headed by Jackson. Righ've read that ball. Well needs to have a big second half last week, give away a clumsy PK that, of course Andrew Thomas saved, and they try to step on that second goal just too late. Judd made the run in behind, stayed on side and it was his shot saved by Stepan and fry Well. But it was the follow up Vespinoza, who'll put this Santa's Earthquakes up two goals to nil. Mentioned. It's been a been a tough four games for the Sounders, three wins and one

tie for San Jose because they continue to hold the heritage the cup. As Kikanovitch goes flying forward as Tevis comes in behind. Easy yellow card given. So the sound is number ninety nine right on the halfway line. Good quick play by san Jose getting out of pressure could be a free kick for the men in blue. The Sounders in their anniversary kit, green shirts with blue

pinstripes, light blue shorts, white socks. They're attacking the goal to our right in the second half, and there's gonna be san Jose in the dark blue shirts, black shorts, black socks, attacking the goal to our left, no more than five hundred yards from the airport as Alex Roldan managed to win the ball with labor. Good quick ball around the corner. So Christian Roldan playing more than number ten in the second half in these early minutes,

ball goes in. Good play by the Sounder is good quick play. Danny Laver's advanced plays the ball from center to far side to left. Ruiy Diaz just comes in prety awesome go looks to strike the bull jumps right in front of Yabro. He's able to collect on the second attempt. But again it's the ability in this slick surface Brad to get a shot and tugget. Yeah, it looks a good play from the Sounders previous play from San Jose to get out of pressure and commit the yellow card. That's fine, and the

Sounder is your game possession. It's really good player here on the right hand side, and then recognize you when to go right to left right, you suck over San Jose's defense. They've all shifted to one side and all it is is one or two passes to find the opposite side of the field. Now, sounders mixing up, mixing it up a little bit. You found Raoul on the left there, Jordan up top, so not afraid to mix

things up just a little bit. And I think a shot from you know, twenty twenty five yards is never that dangerous, but why not have an attempt At the end of the day, Sounders have to create something that can follow up from Jordan, and I think there's an extra pass to be had there for the Sounders, especially against the San Jose defense. Flicks on by Ruy Diaz, hook clib by Hodriguez is Alex trolled on, He's able to

collect. He just toppled the Bucks. Sounders fifty two percent possession of really picked it up as they try to dictate and get themselves back into this game, as as Brad mentioned to me in the halftime period that La Galaxy two goals down away from home against Spawning k C, which whilst Brad playing some time there difficult place to play, they managed to get three goals in that second half to come out three two winners. So no mountain too high to

climb. Sounders have got some firepower on the field even with the changes that met players missing, still eight players missing. As Jordan Mourrice slips on the deck. This gets up slowly, but it's gonna be Paul Marie is gonna skip inside. In transition, here comes San Jose Borgo square Jakiras plays the ball out to the left hand side Kikinov. It should cost an overlapping run towards the end like driven in blocked by Yamar finds the foot of Tevers.

He's gonna clip it down the line cushion headed by Yule. Kitahara isn't able to win it now it gets the ball at his feet. You try to build out a pressure down Labor just holds the ball a little bit too long. Clatteres into Yules. We kick given by the referee just a little slow, but no real options to play out for Labor. It's a little so it's good pressure from San Jose. It was a good switching ball from Keida Hara to start that one. Jordan unlucky to slip there. I'm sure he

has studs on tonight because this field was slippery when we went out. Rangs a little following following, just a little bit, and sometimes you have to make the foul right you see so many blue shirts around you. You take a slightly long touch and then you just have to commit the foul. Otherwise it's a quick counter attack. You slow the play down a little bit, gets that defensively. Ball goes into the foot of Judd Man came into Malay

Gallopxy last year. Three goals last year, his first full season. All goes into his feet inside the box. Keita Haa comes back from a defensive position, then he uses to win. The ball goes to Knew who's to the ground as well, left Ton's side, causing the Sounders problems with their

feet. And it's gonna be San Jose gonna build out the back with Wilson Pauldriguez, a little pressure from tevers A Sounder step up their lines, get a foot in and they do almost finds Jordan Morrice's clips off the heel of roll Dons. Santose manage to get out of a good cushion headed by Jemar. Here come the Sounders. Now that's near side the right as we see Albert Russnek taking some final instructions from Brian Schmittz on the sideline change coming for

Sounders. Bull goes into Jordan Morris off his chest. Is that able to finish? Yarborough comes out second save on Jordan Morris to the Santose goalkeepers. The ball goes to the end line with roll Don clipped over the end need to be thinks to the far post, but it goes over for cornerkick for the Sounders. But well done from the Sounders. It goes right to left again and it's funny how a switching ball could just open things up right.

It's that diagonal ball with a straight run from Jordan. Labor lifts his head. It's a well timed around and that's where Jordan can find success. And can he get this off just a little bit quicker? A good kick save and then Christian with a little touch that ball's gotta be clipped far post. Everyone's looking at the near post. There. Fourth corner kick for the Sounders of this game in swinger by Labor towards the back post. God just flicks

away from Mule. It's gonna roll over for another corner kick, this time on the Sounder's right hand side. Is Labor sprints from one side of the field to the other. Decent delivery whipped in by the sound of sentimentfield play. He was the one that played that diagonal ball to Jordan Morris well played Kennis brad Evans mentioned just holding a position being available for Alex rolled on,

got the ball and was able to deliver a noise pass. This time it's a corner kick outswinger whipped in, good ball flipped up and away by Wilson. Third corner kick in a row for the Sounders. The time it's gonna be on the other side of the field. Labor's just hoping us in this side. Nope, here he goes. It's gonna have to cover with the seventy five yards. Well, it comes with the territory going side to side, and the delivery has been good, right, the delivery is good.

He's on the spot and now it's about getting the runners in the right spot. That's one thing that's been lacking for the sound of that consistent delivery. We talked about it when Pedro de la Vegel was out There was was very consistent. They knew where the ball was gonna go and they got on the end of some things. Jackson did and so did Ariyaga at the time.

And now can you continue that service. As Rusnak enters the field, the ball comes in whipped in towards the back post, punch clear by Yarborough, finds Rosnack with his first touch, whips the ball up in the air towards the top of the six. Punch clear again by Yarborough, top of the box to Lava tries to find that far corner, goes over the top. Goalkick remains nil nil and it's Keta Hagher off the field, Russneck going and we'll see what changes. Brian Schwetz is gonna make. Well, that's the

one you want for Lava's coming left to right. He takes a great touch out of the air and puts it on his right foot, and that's the one where you're just trying to find the center of the back post. Right you're not aiming for top ends there. You just have to curl it to that back post because that that curve is gonna take the ball back towards then

that he does everything right except for the height on that ball. Well, the change that has been made, it's gonna be Christian Roaldaran's gonna play alongside Danny Labor middle of the park, and it's gonna be Rosnek who's gonna slot into that number ten role. Of course, he played that number ten role so well towards the back end of last year, took over from Ladero seven goals, all of them being game winners in the twenty twenty three campaign eleven

goals eleven assists. On the year before with RSL twenty twenty one and twenty twenty two, Rosnak had to play more defensive role as injuries around him force him further back. Last year managed to break out again and as Danny Labor just taking the extra second on the ball gives the ball away and Leban he's been a little bit sharper on the ball. His esperneurs just flicks it around the corner and San Jose I'm gonna build out the back but high pressed by

the Sound as Jordan Morris now running through the middle. We'll see how the rotation of players happens to be Jordan through the middle of times, Jordan on the left at times. San Jose managed to break pressure from the Sound as Kickanovich strides forward middle of the field and Sounder's territory rolls across the right hand side to Espernoza backdown line to Kickingovich chanced by Jackson Reagan can intercepted well by Yama read the danger well cleared by Jackson Reagan on top of the box,

Probaly strikes it, blocked by the Sound. As bull pops up in the air, Costa comes off his shoulder over the end line. Goal kick Sounders remains nil nil Brett too nil. Bredevans I I think Albert's entrance into this game, he's gonna find those pockets just a little bit more, and that's the guy you need to unlock defenses. And like you said, he's had success against the San Jose team, so there's would be nothing new for him as he comes in here. It's just that little support, those little pockets

and finding that extra little pass that Albert brings to the game. Ball off outside the left with new Hoops. He goes into San Jose territorial see field, I founds more in his position. Espinoza, of course, plays high

and right, forcing newho to stay a little deeper. It's been more involved offensively and in weeks most the Sounders changing to the three almost to the back building out with this man Alex Roldan, who's on the ball right now, playing more advanced position, challenged by Kikanovitch, shoulders, shoulder, all a rough and tumbled by the San Jose number twenty eight. It's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders on this near side the right, twenty yards or

so from the endline. I think the referee some soft owls tonight, one that the Sounders hopefully take advantage of. Here, as Leba continues his service album to be on the top of the box, get the big guys forward now. It's about isolation, and I always like to find a partner on the field that's gonna set a pick for me. I want to see Yamar, I want to see Jackson one of those guys say hey, I want to be free here, set my pick right. You gotta find a way

to get free. You can't just be all the guys stacked up against the San Jose back line of ten guys and hope that the ball's gonna hit the Issuy in the head. Well, ball comes in up and away by Morales, headed further clear by Jakiris, finds the foot of Alex Roldan is gonna have to do nothing more than roll it all the way back to Stephan. Fry plays it first, tign back to Alex Roldan. Disappointing for the Sounders. We'ren't able to put in really good delivery because they have to build all

the way up the field once again. Jordan Morris just slides on that far side the left, playing a little bit more narrow, now alongside Ruydiez. Ball goes into Jordan Morris over the top, little headed by Wilson. It's gonna find the foot of the left foot of Rossnick, who strikes it blocked by San Jose. Has to be Rosneck who's gonna work it back. Morales plays the ball down the line to Judd little step over Jackson. Reagan reads

this one well, comes away with it. Ball at his feet, comes into the middle of the park to Tevis tucked in center of the field finds roll Dan Sounder is now dictating some tempo in the offensive half of the field. Then a labor available gets it center circle, Ruy Diaz checking in, Jordan Morris playing a little higher through the middle right. Now all us it's

nearside the right. Alex Roldan, fifteen yards from the end line, whips it in, takes the deflection headed clear by Rodrigue, Will bounces if you a throw him for the Sounders. Swell done from the Sounders, and then they really don't want to find new who on that far the left ten side. That's been three or four of the lookoff. But that vertical ball is

working now. Jordan coming off the left, the right center back has to respect it, so does the right back at the time right, So he's in negating two guys on that team, and all it is winning the second ball is Albert picks up the ball. It's a decent strike from distance. Why not have a go. The Sounders find themselves again winning a good tackle up on this right hand side, starting to create a little a little bit of magic, a little bit of movement, disorganizing the San Jose defense.

Shakiris comes off after his first meaningful minutes in this campaign. Young US men's national team player played in the Age twenty World Cup with Vargas in to two thousand and five players. He comes off and jet Skate had the former UNC Chapel Hill player comes on the field one goal, one assist on his campaign last year. Send another UNC legend falling on the field. Fellow Toho tar

Hills a founcing today in the March Madness gainst Michigan State Challenge. The middle of the field, it was Jackson Reagan a little late on jud he stays in the deck. Yellow card for Jackson Reagan. Sometimes those fowls are not bat fowls to give, especially in transition. But it's a little clumsy, little lazy. But again it's a missed opportunity here for the Sounders. They have all ten guys behind the ball. For San Jose, it's a vertical

ball and then all it takes is one and off goes san Jose. They're always gonna play vertical with that first pass and Jackson has to commit the foul there otherwise San Jose's off to the races once again. Take the yellow out half field, get reset. But it's the interest it's that last pass that the Sounders are lacking tonight. It's that connection between the number nine and the number ten, whoever's playing that position right coming off the left hand side,

whomember it is. Of course everyone listening out of there, it's probably thinking, what's been that issue all season? I think Bryan Schmitz has been working diligently on the practice field with his coaching staff and try and sharpen things up. This will continues to be missed zero point four to two expected goals tonight. If the Sounders are gonna get back in this again, they have to pick up some of these stats, pick up some pressure and Yarborough's goals they

come away with it all down the line. They'll nudge in the bat by Morales. Nothing give, no found given by the referee. It's going to be a throw and four San Jose with coaster. But Sounders FC Socket is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. To get here.

In the sixty sixth minute, Sounders trailing two goals, a little shot by Espinoza from twenty five yards straight down the gut of Sep and Fry twenty five minutes remaining here PayPal Park. We're on nine fifty kjr AM and again we're ever listening to us. We appreciate you joining us. Sounders got some

work to do here to get back into this game. And it was in a space of sixty seconds towards the end of that first half where it was Coaster and then Espinoza after a var call San Jose of two goals nil. They of course four losses in their first four games. They're needing a win as much as the Sounders are. Free kick for San Jose. As Coaster stepped in, Tevis went down a little late on the challenge, and these are the minutes that they can chew up more seconds. They will just manage

the game. Bread the Sounders come out so hot, San Jose, realize his name. You stick our foot out, draw three or four fouls. If we play vertical, they're gonna make a decision right, you back into a center back, Hopefully you go down for a free kick and you just kind of get the result tonight. For San Jose. It's not about getting

the third at this point. It's obviously about keeping the Sounders off the board, but it's about managing the game, and it'll be tough for Jose because the Sounders are going to find themselves here in the seventieth minute, with twenty minutes to go, They're gonna have to push at some point or giving away by Christian wald Arm. It feels like it's been the story of the night so far. We'll flicks around the corner to Skahan, who finds the foot

of Mule advance miss central midfield spots twenty five yards. Some goal goes square, a little loose on the pass, He's gonna find the foot of his number ten Espinosa. Score of that second goal, well, Missus Sounders put a little bit higher press role. Rudiez playing is high number nine, now backed up by Maurice Roznek Tevez. See what changes Brian Schweitz is gonna make. Seeing some yellow green shirts coming off the bench, Bor goes down the

line kicking Novich, Bull goes down the middle. President Judd inside the box. The clearance by Jackson Reagan. Eventually the assistant referees flight came up for an off side. Looks a Mussovski and Cody Baker are gonna come onto the field for another change for the Sounders see the players come off. He's got changes. Brian Schmetz is gonna make both and personnel and also tactically as well.

Rudy f middle of the field touched by roaldn Fifteen wins for the Sounders against San Jose over the years in MLS, fourteen wins for San Jose. So as much as we remember those games where Sounders in twenty twenty won seven goals to one. If you remember that goal when Jordan Morris picked it up inside his own half and just strode past about five players when San Jose played that crazy one v one system, it's been closer than you think. Foul

given by the refee on Ruydiez chance four. Both Brian Schmetzer to make his up but also the Sounders to put some decent delivery into the box for the

Sounders. Hopefully that these subs make a difference. Right. You bring off Ted Vez, you bring on Cody Cody, you know you know what you're gonna get out of Cody Baker, and it's gonna be a hard on probably push maybe they push Alex forward a little bit here and see if he can provide something in a way of any service tonight from the run and play right and a number of set pieces for the Sounders haven't been able to get anything,

and now can the service come from the run of play. We just saw stat that Sminos has most crosses from the run and play this year. Sounders not in that top five, no one in the top five or top six. So shift things just a little bit here. Maybe it comes into a three five to two. Bull goes into Coodya Baker for his first touch, knoxible in towards ruy Dz surprising and gives penalty clash into the back of Yama. And is that the chance the Sounders need to get back into this

game? Redfree didn't hesitate, put his finger to the spot, and he's a chance for Rui Dz to get his eightieth goal for the Sounders and to get them right back into this game. Bran Evans slicker. If you're an attacker, your back is to go. I don't care. If you're a center back and you go off for the ball and you're making a play and that hand comes in at the top of my back, that's a different story.

If it's low back and I've got body position, it's not a foul you know better than I do. And in that case, Yamar makes a play on the ball. He's not looking for any sort of advantage. He makes a play on the ball, gets pushed in the back and he goes down. Maybe he's gonna listen to it and call it back, but who knows. It looks like a penalty to me, it's a little bit soft. I think San Jose will be hard done there for the referee to be

fair. That's called a lot of soft fouls against San Jose tonight from the start of this game. Well listen, that's GB yellow cards for Kikanovitch. Has he processed the call from the referee when the foul is called? SGB trial lawyers are here to help visit SGB dash law dot com. The referee just holds his finger to his he he made the coll and now it's gonna be undisputed evidence to change it, and he's pointing to the spot. He got the call, and yes, Jema made the most of it in some

ways, but it was a clash into the back. Who cas penalty is gonna be Ruy Diazu's gonna step up. Remember last week it was a penalty against Colorado that Ruydiez did the penenka and we'll see what he does here. As Sespinosa just standing in front of the Sounders number nine, I think it's gonna affect Rudiez and Yarborough walks slowly back to his line. This is a

chance for the Sounders seventy second minute to get back into this game. Out of nothing, it's a penalty as Ruidiaz takes three, four or five steps back, comes up and there's another penneka. Incredible by Ruidias. What confidence from the Sounders number nine. That's his eightieth goal for the Sounders. He leads the old time stats for the men in Green, and the Sounders are back in this game. Santos, two Sounders won the confidence from your number

nine to step up two weeks in a row. And as a goalkeeper, you have one or two options. You gotta go to a side or you stand tall in the middle and you look silly either way. And the goalkeeper does the right thing there He guesses aside, not thinking that Rudis is gonna do it again, but he steps up in the I mean that's a little higher than I think he thought it was gonna be. But all finds the back of the net. Sounders have life now here come the Sounders. Remember

what happened in Kansas City just a couple of hours ago. Sporting Casey up two goals in the home, tough place for any team to go, and it was Eli Galaxy who came back and scored three goals. Ball into the box just away from Jordan Morris, good look by Ruy Diaz, walls into the hands of Yard bro seventy three minutes gone here, San Jose up two goals to one, but it's a lifeline from the Sounders from the penalty spot.

That's the third goal from penalties this season. It was Pedro de la Vega in La and it was Ruy Diaz last week and Ruy Diaz this week. Two penankas. And when you commit to that type of PK, as Brad said, you had the look incredibly composed or throwing away a chance. This time of course for the Sounders, it goes into the back of the net and it's the eightieth goal for ruy Diez, breaking Montero's record as he

stands alone at the top of the pile. As we mentioned, Cody Baker on the field playing that right back a trol DNA's Mussovski strikes forward top of the box, goes left a little behind ruy Diez just hesitates for a second. Back to new clips towards the far post. Yarbrook comes out easily collected. Poor crossby knew Who. But again it's the Sounders in transition looking dangerous. At the end of the day, it's about transition, like you said,

And that's a good move from Musovski. We haven't seen much of him this season. That's the first time we've actually seen him pick up the ball drive out of defense. I think the pass has got to come a little bit earlier, Raoul, And at the end of the day, it's got to be better from new Who. It's put your head down, get your body weight over the ball. And that ball sailed forty fifty yards in the air. It's easy. It's a fair catch for the keeper. At the

end of the day, he gotta make him stick to his line. And how do you do that when you swing in a ball. It's finding that rhythm. Are you're staying after training every day because you know it's you're gonna get asked upon those new Who's first cross of the game. It's gotta be solid delivery, and you let all the guys down. You do such good work in your own half. And yeah you're a defender, but you're also

required to serve that ball as a left back in today's modern game. Absolutely Cameroonian International of course, or a chundred games for the Sounders continues to struggle with that final past that phone delivery as Coddy Bacon comes inside. Little combination with Masovski bat too, Rosnet playing his more traditional central of the park. Sound has now got nothing to lose, Sanose, They're gonna feel the pressure now full loss in full games up to goals and ilga into the half.

Sounders now on the front foot, try to play ball over the top, give it away, but come back with it now. Sounders with Jackson Reagan win in their sales is. Cody Baker makes a run to the outside on the right, comes inside too, Alex rolled on Lisovsky playing alongside Ruy Diaz two number nine Bull goes in to Cody Bakers. He drives forward, comes inside to the box. He's gonna flick it around, go down, use that confidence, use that experience, or just take that touch. But he

doesn't gets cleared by San Jose. Sounders come again. Well done by the Sounders again a crime pressure and my thought was gonna be his What is san Jose feeling right now? Is it? Oh? No, here we go again. I think they're gonna have to make a couple substitutes here to take some life out of this game because Cody Baker sees a rash challenge. But like you said, he gets into the box, he's got the advantage if he takes a touch and he gets any sort of contact, you go down

for another one. That's a dangerous challenge to be right there from Costa. I think he got the worst of that one. I think Coast is going down holding his legs. He knows he was a dangerous challenge by him. He's gonna try and play it off with the referee because we see San Jose making a change. It's gonna be Preston Judd who went through one on one

with seven five for that second goal. He was saying, followed by Esperoza and now is gonna be the Bobis He's gonna come on the field and play up as a number nine dropped for today's game started every single game this season. I'm not seeing the production from the San Jose attacking player because he comes on the field ten goals last year, seventeen goals a year before. He's

knew who strides forward down that left hand cycle. This time he puts some good delivery, doesn't He comes off Paul Marie as Espinosa stays on the deck, referee just holding up play. It's a typical flailing knew who arm here as Espinoza goes in to put in and put in a chair and I think it gets the worst bout on a forearm to the forehead ones Menosa, you know who. Gotta be careful with those. They come out more often than

not. He does have a tendency to flail those arms, as you mentioned, just the way he plays, whether it's a clearance, Hello, referee not doing anything with it. Sounders have it, ball comes back in play to Jackson Reagan. San Jose just holding on for the last ten or so minutes. Just remind everybody he just joined us. Some Sounders were trailing two goals to nil at halftime against San Jose. Here at PayPal Park, your

lifelink given the third penalty of the seasons Simmy was ruy Diez. We question if we do the penanka He did it last week, but up he steps gets his eightieth goal for the Sounders with a panenka to become the all time leading goal scorer for the Sounders, passing Freddy Montero. He tied it last week, gets it this week. Paul goes to the Massosk. He tries to knock it down to Jordan Morris see a little bit more from Massoska being

quite so far in these early months of his sound As season. Rodriguez just holds his position, Massovski buys it, flies into him, free kicks. San Jose remains San Jose. Two Sounders, one fight. Evans. You always feel that pressure as a center back when you're running away going to the sideline. As soon as you feel any pressure, advantages yours and you just

kind of cover the bowl and that's always gonna be a foul. But the Sounders finding some space there with two targets now Massovski and Jordan coming off that left hand side, and as the time goes on, those balls are gonna have to become more and more frequent. If you don't win the first one,

then you win the second one. Well, sound as fans. Don't leave us at the end of the game will be Jackson Felts, Pete Feuing

will be back to break it all down. Hopefully they'll be able to break down the Sounders come from behind when we feel it, the Sounders are on the front. Foot ball goes into Jordan Morris. Handball by Paul Marie. Yes it was ridiez is asking for it. It was a blatant handball. Stopped to play. You'd expect to be a yellow cup bread. Yeah. Well, Stephen Fry not much to do in this out, but starts that attack for the Sounders. Another long ball in and Misofski doing much better this

game. I think he's better with his back to goal actually than he is in getting him behind. The Sounders you know the popular little pop little handball out there, little chicken wing unfortunately not to be a Yellow Sounder three game possession ball down the line, flips away from Rodriguez towards the corner. Flat is near side the right hook clay like coast, San Jose looking a little shaky these last ten minutes. Sounders on the front foot looking for that equalizing

goal. Deck down their anniversary kid again tacking the goal to our right as the big men go up and Jackson, Reagan, Jordan Morris holding their positions inside the box. Could be a long throw from Cody Baker headed clear by a Bobas coming back to help his team defensively just on the field as the ball gets whipped in by Coude Bit good ball on the six hander down. It is a goal, the first goal for Messofsky and the Sounders tight up

here in San Jose. It's the earthquakes too, the Sounders too. Good things happen when you have service on the ball. And we just heard the silence of that crowd. We want to revel in that silence. We see the sound of supporters standing up and Massofsky on the end of that one, and that's just brilliant service from Cody Baker. What a ball, swings it in turn around all the defenders and then just at the back post, gets up at the right time smashes that thing in the back of the net.

Keeper can't come across in time, almost comes out to try and get that ball. Yard Bro will want that one back because I think that's what he can come out for. Get stuck on his line, but good service, fantastic header and the Sounders now to two with a chance san Jose couple on the sick job Bocks. I needs a goal by b Oversea. That is no other Sounders needed again, just falling asleep after a goal, and within seconds of the restock it's san Jose who go back up three goals to two.

We haven't even got done watching the replay online. And then san Jose, with a quick counter attack and chance to make a tackle from Jackson, misses a tackle and it's a great run from a bobasea Christian can't keep up, and twenty seconds later the Sounders find themselves kicking themselves again with just silly mistakes and go down three with nine minutes left. Well, Brad, there's no excuse about experience. Now you have Rushnack on the field. Well down

in the middle of the field. You got a back four that considered only thirty two goals on the season. As Brian Schmizer giving an air full to that back line, so he should That's not the type of play that the Sounders expect from their experienced players. There's a giveaway. They're right back into this game after a ton of hard work, and now they have to climb back up that mountain. And as we get here in the eighty third minute,

Sounders trailing again by one goal. The San Jose bounce right back Rudy haz has it fast side the left, switched it from left to the center of the park, just inside the halfway line. Ball goes listen this side the right to Cody Baker. Can he find a little bit of magic again with delivery, flicker around the corner, a little loose on the pass, sliding tackle, he won the ball. Well, referee gives a foul though, that's gonna again gonna take some valuable seconds off the clock is question rolled

on just gives a referee a handful. San Jose gonna make a couple more changes. The calls have gone back and forth. Tonight's soft on either side. That was the referees opportunity to kind of pay one back to San Jose there, and there's a little slit ball in a little flick. If Massassi comes from behind, yes, does he catch a foot? I don't think so. Yule doesn't even complain in that situation. He's ready to recover.

He knows it's not a foul. Sometimes as a ref look at the reaction from the player and if I'm getting set defensively, I know it's not a foul on me. I'm trying to make a play on the ball because I know I just lost it. And now the San jos A Earthquakes make a couple of changes, bring on some reinforcements in the back. They'll go five in the back and try to solidify this thing to get their first victory of

the season. Yet, Paul Marie comes on, comes off the field, Daniel Muni's gonna come on the field, play morever like a wing right wing back. Tanabeson comes on the field in placement of Keikanovich, and as Brad Minch looks like they're gonna shift to a three at the back with Hodriguez on the right, Wilson in the middle, and then Tannerbison on that left hand

side. All goes down the line farst side, the left one, initially by Christian Waldan, but it's gonna be in San Jose in transition shifts it from center to this nearside the left good tackled by Cody Baker, goes down low times it perfectly. He's gonna go out for a throw in about a yard from this near side corner flag. Brad Evans just demanding the team to

get down into this corner, block them out high press. There's been moments and lapses of concentration from the Sounders, as they say, the five minutes before, after a goal and before and after halftime. Oh, when you're most vulnerable. When the Sounders, unfortunately for the men in Green, have proved that tonight. Within seconds of that first goal it was Espinoso scored, and then within seconds of that equalizing goal for Massovski with his first goal for

the Sounders, the Earthquakes came down. There was that if Boba, say, who came off the bench, got the third goal, I pressed by Ruy Diaz, Fuck you are on the call by Hodriguez driven down by Muni, flicked over the top by Jackson Reagan loose from the pass goes out of bounds far side the right, throwing four, San Jose. I think the Sounders just take up breath here, get set defensively, you know that, San Jose. If they try to keep the ball in the back, it's

a new formation for them. Some of these guys don't know where they need to be and where the ball needs to be played. So take take your chances when you get them. There's still two or three good opportunities in this one for the Sounders. There'll be plenty of stoppage time with the PK, a couple of yellow cards. Continue to play your game. Don't get desperate just yet. Foul on Jackson Reagan far side the left, inside Sounders territory. It's gonna be a free kick for the men in Green as they get

the ball going quickly. This copyrighting audio casts a Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. Here in the eighty sixth minute, PayPal Park in California, home of the Earthquakes, San Jose are up three, goals to two against the Sounders Sanders. That amount to to climb down two goals. Dial is. The ball gets flicked towards Jordan Morris Plexit on his chest. Can he bring

it down? Look, I'm bull given by the referee. Ball bounced up on the forearm of Jordan Morris. Free kick for San Jose inside their eighteen yard books. I thought about Alex Roldon on the side to get out of some tight pressure. And again it's a diagonal ball that's finding success for the

Sounders. You'll see that for the remainder of this half, they're gonna look off new and just go directly to Jordan does a good job here and putting himself between the ball in the goal and unfortunately that ball just pops up hits him in the here because we're aul sitting there waiting for that little drop pass. The Sounders may have found themselves with a chance there make another sun another change for the Sounders. Yemark comes off the field after his first start meaningful

minutes for the Sounders this season. Sounds a look like they're shifted to a three as well. With Cody Baker, Jackson Reagan and knew Who there's Paul Rothrocker is going to come and slide on that right hand side. Both teams playing three at the back now Sounds, it's about preserving their lead. Sounders trying to find their equalizing goal. Hook clear by Jackson Reagan, little ugly bounces over the top, rolls through all the way back to Yarborough placks the

ball. Just get stuck uner his feet for a moment as to clear the ball down the line. It goes click around the corner, driven down the middle. It's going to bounce through to Stephen Fry. The Sounders are going to come again. As we sit here in the eight eighth minute, San Jose three Sounders two can the sound is found another bit of magic golds by

ruy Ds. Eightieth goal for the Sounders is all time leading eightieth goal from the p casepon, then massofski after a really high quality across from Cody Baker the Jacks O Regan heads it back to Stephen Freud. Right, it's all about just nothing to lose now, Just get the players out of the field and hopefully find that final bit of quality to get yourself on that scoreesheet.

Or you gotta find a way to isolate someone on the wings. Service is gonna be key as you as you enter the last five to six minutes of this game. It can't all be vertical balls and looking to stretch every single time. It's got to find its way wide and Albert's got to come across and provide that overload. Either either Albert or Alex has to slide across and

isolate someone on these wings. That San Jose defense is gonna play five in the back rough over with the bull just use his possessions for a split second, just bounces around, manages to compose himself and finds Cody Baker gets dump to the ground, freaking the Sounders off. They go again. Quickly, Ball goes in behind Rothrock just trying to wriggle clear of Costa doesn't as a San Jose left back gets his body between fall and player hook clear by San

Jose. Sounders come again with rossneck center of the field. Now Ball down the right hand side. This near sight to Rothrock. Can he s wriggle free of coast, gets towards the end like cuts back. It's Bull to Cody Baker towards the end like Pascal, and can he get some quality and it drives it down, bobbles around. Cleared by San Jose finds Rothrock inside

the box towards that far post goes under the foot of Esperinosa. Rudias is lingering on that back post, finds it goes back to Rudiaz from roll down top of the box, square to Rosneck. Cody Baker available as Rossneck goes into Rothrock, right corner of the box comes off the shins of coaster cleared by Morales. Sounders come again. Costa goes the deck. Sounders don't have to stop it and they come again with new to roll down three of the

sounder's place sitting top of the box. Missovski, Rui, Diaz, Jordan, Morris Bull comes in headed clear, corny cake sounders and well done from the sounders here, but it's it's the patients from roth Rock. Do you see that the defender is baiting you to go down the line to make a block. Someone come across and provide him support. He can lay that ball

off first time and then it's the first time ball into the box. What comes in and Cody make it disappointing from combination of Rothrock and Cody Baker's just gonna get it pull him with some quality. And Bryce Schmidt started looking at it, just shaking his head. I need to go short just to get some quality of the box. They'll step over, Bull goes into Missoski and then another foul. I've seen that once. Just slop it a little lazy

by Mussoski. It gives the San Jose earthquakes a chance just to gather themselves. It's a tough ball from Rothrock here into Missoski's feet. I don't think it's intended for him, so it's more of a reaction than an anticipation that the ball is gonna come across in Santose. Gonna do everything they can to milk whatever of these eight minutes stoppage time here. Zamam wasn't meant for Christian

Masasi has so pretty much put Beta fun well. The Sounders are heading to Sonny, Los Angeles to take on an LA Galaxy on Saturday, March thirtieth at seven thirty pm. Watch the match fire the MLS Caeson Pass on the Apple TV app and listen on iHeartRadio and l Ray thirteen sixty am in Spanish. The Provident Swedish prematch show starts at seven pm. We have we've got eight minutes of added time here. So is that the lifeline the Sounders need

is they trail three goals to two here in San Jose. And this score update is presented by Provident Swedish. As Yarborough has the ball on the deck free kick for San Jose just outside their eighteen yard boxes. He pushes his back line up. He's gonna launch this ball forward. Let's change teams for both San Jose and the Sounders today. This all goes long and high. Jackson racer just misjudges that jump, comes off the side of his head, goes out for a thrown on this near side the left for San Jose.

And again, don't leave us after the end of this game, Jackson felt Pete Feuing will be back to break it all down in a postgame show. We're here at PayPal Park. Sunder's looking for a little bit of inspiration. They find another way back into this game. They climb the mountain getting back from two goals down. At halftime, Skahan just tries to step in front of Cody Bacon. That's gonna be an SGB yellow card for Jack Skhand When a fowl is called SGB Trial. Loyals are here to help. Visit SGB

dash law dot com. You here, there's so nice words to us the referee as we uh last week at the end of the Colorado game. I'm just a reminder referees that have been refering these games of these last five or six weeks. The ball gets hooked clear, can Jordan Moore's pick it up? He was a miss clearance. Ball to the back knit swipe by Rothrock across the top of the Bucks to the six yard bucks is gonna roll through all the way across. It was roth Rug who had a chance on the

volley. Are volley. That's the half allie. Every player wants on the right hand side coming across, and you just have to shape your body. He's a little bit too straight on on that one, and if you do, you gotta hit it with the outside of the boot so it curls back in towards the goal. He catches it almost too pure. It bounces on the ground straights across the mouth of the goal. He'll want that one back because he kind of mishits it there, especially with this wet grass right You

want that one to skip don't give the keeper a chance for anything. Oh, just drive it across the goal. You never know who's gonna hit. But here come the Sounder is again Rothall, this was decent. Ball comes up the back of San Jose defender straight by Ruy Diaz turn with his left foot, carried down by Yard Bron. He picks it up as Jordan Morris runs and tries to close him down. As we get here four minutes into eight added minutes, Sounders still have time. Bull goes down the line towards

Esperosa, little cushion header inside the field from now but given away. Ball goes into Jack Skayhound thirty yards from gold back to a bobasea score of that third goal for San Jose's. He clips it for center to the far side to Daniel Muni, who tries to play the ball into a dashing I think it was Yule runs through to Stephan Fry. There's been somewhat of a spectator in the second half other than picking the ball up back of the net.

Sound has come again. Cody Baker assists Man four, Mussovski and f I'm correct in thinking that's Cody Baker's first assists and first points four the sound Masosky just heads it down into the box, but there's no runner for the Sounders. Both bounces through two y opera. Well, you know, if the ball's coming left right, Musoski's one of the two forwards. He's vacating space, so one of the other attackers has to come into that space. It's

very simple math. If both Raoul and Jordan just sit back there expecting the ball to come there, you have to anticipate that something is gonna happen. Just like defensively, the Sounders not anticipating off the kickoff right, they're just assuming that San Jose's not gonna score again because they've had the better run of play. Same thing offensively, you gotta anticipate that the ball's gonna go there. Take a chance. There's two minutes left in this game. That's what

it is. Take a chance. He's a forward, he's gonna take those opportunities. You never know. What you need is that one chance. The girls that picks it up goes into the foot of Masoski, goes square to Ruy Diaz just pick snapshot goes wide to the golf goal. Kick four, San Jose remains San Jose three sounders two and this is four or five times already this game. We're trying to hit it with the inside of our foot, find the far post, use the curve of the ball. The keeper's

always gonna be moving left to right. If you hit it near posts on the ground, it's gonna go in the back of the net, or it's gonna come off the post, so the keeper's got to dive down and make a save and you get a rebound. Every time we want to hit that inside foot going when the ball's coming right to left, back to the left, it's really really difficult to finish that one to be a goalkick for San Jose. As the time ticks away, if it get past ninety six minutes,

it's around about two minutes remaining. We'll see if the refereanes anymore. Time for San Jose, just wasting some time with Coasta going down to the deck with quite a little bit of a tension the refereanes anymore. As the ball comes across to Jackson Rega's center the parks, it's gonna launch it long headed on by Jordan Morris, skirts itself to Daniel Moody, just hooks it a long towards it Bobus, He's able to bring it down Jacks Origan needs

to get closer and tighter. The ball comes in the foot of Bobus. He tries to flick it around the corner to us Binoza. Sounder is able to come away with it. Sir referee puts his flag up on the far side. Knew who throws it into the back of San Jose player, but actually San Jose could have kept going so always knew who throwed the ball in he was running away. I don't know. Maybe he knew who got away one there. But here come the Sounders again. Now they're gonna have another

chance. They're gonna get one final chance to tie this game up as they trail three goals to two, having won in the last four against San Jose Heritage Cup game. Santjose win both games last year. Or goes in behind Rothrock managed to save it to Mussovsky just stands there, isn't able to collect it, but it's rosneck Or go to the foot of Baker, clips it back to Christian, roll down into Mussovsky's he gonna drive forward. We'll step

over towards his left foot drives. It comes up Wilson corner Geek Sounders remains San Jose three Sounders too. Evans well done. Thirty seconds left in this game. We've seen these referees call him early. This will be the last chance for the Sounders tonight. Well done by Danny Mussowski. A little step over. It's funny how those moves from thirty forty years ago still work in

this game. Creates some space and it's a good block that was finding its way on frame up farst side the left in swing of the right foot. This will be the final chance for the Sounders. Bull comes in decent delivery, goes up, bounces around San Jose, knock it long with pass. The ninety eight minute mark. Bull comes in. Who's challenging? No one's challenging. Bull gets cleared by San Jose. Sound is flat footed. They got a chance. They need to get a ball in the box. Comes

into Cody Baker. Can he find some decent delivery again? It does come in, flicked on by Massovski far side, Rotha, little one v one Us and Uni towards the end line. Won. He goes down, wins the ball comes away twice. Menoza Luchiganza is putting one finger up. Looks like this one additional minute could be added on today eight. We're getting into the final twenty seconds. Cefron fright has it. The crowd here is brewing

the past eight minute mark. Headed on by Jackson Reagan, headed clear by San Jose, hook clearby Coaster. Both bounces through too, Cefro and Fry Cushion headed to Neuho. Referee puts the whistle to his mouth and there it is. San Jose find their first win of the season and the Sounders from coming back from two goals down at halftime to tie up two to two. Unfortunately for the men in Green, they go down three goals to two to San Jose. It was cost Her in the forty second minute, Esperinosa in

the forty third minute, and the Sounders managed to find themselves back. Rory Diaz scored off the penalty spot in the seventy second for his eightieth goal and his Sounders' career, becoming the all time leader in goals scoring, and then a good quality cross by Baker find the head of Massovski for his first goal for the Sounders to tie up, and then within seconds of the kickoff.

It was at Boba. Say we found the game winner, Brad, your final thoughts, Yeah, the Sounders left a lot to be desired tonight, and yes, the fight determination to come back, make the right subs swinging balls for wide airs. You do so much hard work to get to two to two, and you think that that'll be the night for the Sounders. And then we couldn't even watch the replay on TV. How fast it happened

off a kickoff to go down three to two. And the Sounders will be left asking a lot of questions of themselves as they fly home tonight, and what's gonna happen next game? Down in La another tough place to play against a team that is flying right now. A lot of work to do, a lot of questions to be asked to this Sounder squad. Well, the Sounders trudge over to the fast side. We're gonna give innovation to the traveling support for the Sounders that came out in numbers again as they always do,

and we'll always say thank you for your support. Thank you to the Sounders fans to continue to travel and support the men in Green. But unfortunately for Tonoy, they couldn't get the job done, but thanks for everyone involved in today's broadcast. Mike and Keeley here in the booth alongside Hannah and of course to Sounders legend Brad Evans. We'll take a short break, Jackson Pelts and Pete Fume will be back to break it all down, but from PayPal Park
