Hey everyone, it's Pacific, and welcome back to another episode of SCP Archives. And, Happy Thanksgiving! Despite being a horror fanatic, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. And this year, I just want to say I'm thankful for you. Thank you so much for tuning into the show, for leaving us ratings and reviews on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and honestly, just making this whole thing possible.

It is insane that I get to do this every day of my life. And I wouldn't be here without all of you. And I'm also very thankful to Daisy McNamara, our showrunner, who's been incredible this season and has done. So much work behind the scenes to make this show possible, especially as I've been out and sick this year and really just the whole crew. Eduardo, our artist, Dakota, our video.

graphics person. There's a better name for his title, but video graphic person. Matt, our theme song composer. Dana Creaseman, our awesome composer. Chris Harris Beachy, our incredible sound designer, and so many other people, all of our incredible cast and crew that have made this show possible. And we are all here because you tune in every single week. So thank you for doing that.

Thank you for tuning in, and I hope you have an incredible Thanksgiving today. And now, a quick ad break, and then this week's episode. The Foundation database is classified. Unauthorized access will result in detainment. Within this archive, you'll find the procedures, descriptions, and accounts of the most notorious anomalies we've encountered to date. Secure. Contain. Protect. London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London Bridge is falling down, falling down. FALLING DOWN!

Please continue.

Good evening, Liaison Jeff- I'm not Liaison Jefferson, son. Pardon? I was told I had a meeting with Liaison Jefferson in C-109. I might- Sit down. Excuse me? If you want to know what happened to your project proposal, then I suggest you take a seat. Who are you? Used to be a time that our faces were everywhere in the Foundation. Not anymore. My name hasn't been used since before you were born. But you can call me...

Eleven. Oh. Five eleven. Yes. I wasn't aware you were going to be handling my proposal. Under normal circumstances, your proposal would have been ignored for six months while it sat at the bottom of some yellow-bellied paper-pusher's desk and then rejected. But I find your proposal interesting. Really? Yeah. Tell me, how long you been working here? At Site-19? About- No. For the Foundation. Um, I think it's going to be eight years in June, sir.

Not long enough. I'm sorry? No fault of your own. Just a consequence of your age. I was hoping you'd remember the good old days. Before... this. It wasn't always like this, you know. Like what? Like a... Like a... Government office. The place reeks of bureaucracy. It wasn't like this 15, 20 years ago. What was it like? We were pioneers. We changed the whole goddamn world every day.

The Atreus Array. The reality anchors. We even managed to exploit the fucking eel! Nowadays, you have to fill out a form and take a piss test to borrow a pen. It's ridiculous. Why are you telling me this? I'm hoping you can help me change that. You and your project. How? You seem to have a good hat on your shoulders. Did you know that we were considering dissolving the Department of Inter-Anomaly Experimentation before your proposal? We? The O5 Council.

they think that the foundation is in a perfect state right now they're wrong of course but that's not important what is important is that i pushed your proposal through It's been greenlit. Oh, er, wow! Thank you, sir! And I pulled a few strings. Got you some nice little gifts. Access to some of our more... unique... anomalies, and an entire site to support your efforts. You're now head researcher of Site 05. The paperwork will come through shortly. Congratulations.

God, I can't believe this is happening. Just remember that I'm gambling a lot on this project. Disappoint me and we'll both suffer. I have the resources to weather the shitstorm that would fall on us, but I don't think you do. So don't fuck it up. I won't disappoint you, sir. You have my word. Good man. Godspeed. End vlog. Anything else? Yes. There are 18 additional addenda. Okay. Keep them coming.

Addendum 5549.2 Foundation Department of Interanomaly Experimentation Project London Bridge Mission Statement Produced by Director Sharp Purpose To create an Artificial anomaly designed to assist Foundation containment efforts and advance scientific knowledge of major contained anomalies. Subject. A D-class individual. Chosen after project approval.

and subject to intense psychological and physical vetting. Methodology. Subject to be repeatedly exposed to anomalies chosen by Project Lead Sharp until close to expiration. Subject is then to be exposed to SCP-427 and treated with non-anomalous medical technologies. Jesus Christ. Brought close to expiration? This isn't research. It's torture. What was that idiot thinking? I wasn't talking to you. Next, please.

Good evening. Who are you? Put simply, I represent an independent research group with a mandate to protect humanity from various threats. Like diseases? No, no, no. I'm talking about strange things. Unexplainable things. Things that go bump in the night. Things we used to call demons and monsters. Monsters aren't real. My god, yes. I'm so sorry. But this is your wake-up call. We need your help.

We need people, that is individuals, willing to work with us to protect the world from those threats, those monsters. We need people with nothing left to lose. Everyone can help in their own way. What's mine? You'll see. There are a lot of people counting on you. There are benefits. We have influence. We can commute your sentence, make sure that your family doesn't suffer in your absence. They'll be provided with compensation, and you can greet them in person.

after a few years of working for us, instead of occasionally through a glass panel and telephone. What happens if I refuse? We? Wipe your memory of this encounter? and you go back to the general population to serve the rest of your life sentence. Didn't even tell her what they were going to do to her. No way she would have agreed otherwise. Keep going.

I've completed my examination of D293. The subject's height and weight are about average. Hume rating is well within normal limits, of course. I have to say, we picked a quality test subject. About as normal as it gets. Well... I say that, and then I remember. She killed a man. On that note, I'd like to make an addition to the testing schedule. Semi-regular psychological check-ups.

Can't imagine this kind of testing to be good for one's mental health, and keeping the subject complacent is rather important in this venture. I'd be more than happy to handle those myself, if you'd like. Much appreciated, Boucher. forward me a prospective schedule at your leisure. Today we tested SCP. Dr. Franz put the gloves onto his hands. He was ordered to hold the subject's right shoulder in his right hand and a rod of titanium alloy in his left.

Two seconds after the test began, the subject tore themselves from Dr. Franz's grip at the sight of titanium spreading across their shoulder. Subject was forcibly sedated and returned to their containment cell. Subject reacted extremely negatively and demanded to be released immediately. Subject reacted violently to any personnel entering the containment cell.

and only relaxed after a prolonged period of solitary confinement. In order to prevent similar incidents in the future, Dr. Boucher's proposal of regular psychological evaluations has been approved. Slight drop-off in weight, accompanied by a sharp increase in height. Most of that is in the neck, which is slightly concerning based on how fragile her collarbone looks. Like it might snap with a touch.

Actually, that's in regards to all her bones. She might be suffering from calcium deficiency. Regardless, she's not dead, so that's already a big plus. I'm going to recommend a higher calorie diet to make up for that weight loss. Slight drop in Hume rating, but since we haven't actually exposed her to any ontokinetics yet, I don't think that'll be a problem. Fluctuations probably come from the number of anomalous things we're keeping in one place. June 2, 1976. Took them long enough?

Oh, uh, hello. Remember those psych sessions I was talking about? They've finally been authorized. Oh, uh, wow, that's good, I guess. How are you feeling? Bored. Lethargic. I don't know. Not much to do down here. Alright, I'll see what I can do. And beyond that? Not good. Honestly. And why is that? The testing. It's horrible. Sharp made it sound like he wanted me to be a part of some kind of special team. He just wanted a lab rat. You are part of a special team.

The linchpin, in fact. But you could be handling your situation a little better. This is bad. I didn't know it would be this bad. It's not your fault. These kinds of anomalies are hard to predict, even for us. Do you guys really understand these things? Better than anyone else in the world. The world doesn't even know about them, apparently. So that's kind of a low bar. Well...

That's what you're here for. To help us truly understand these things, the way they affect people. We're not there yet, but we're getting there. You know, I'm not really sure how changing my arm into metal would help anyone. Well, we need to know how different anomalies affect humans. When a soldier somewhere gets attacked with one of those anomalies, we're going to be able to thank you for teaching us how it worked. Every single test furthers our understanding of these things.

You are an invaluable asset to this project. Thanks, I guess. Why are there no dates on these testing logs? Huh. Sloppy. Subject was intravenously exposed to SCP... Through the brachial artery. Within nine hours... The infection had spread through the left arm and into their torso. The subject repeatedly voiced extreme discomfort and requested the test be ended. Request declined.

After the infection spread to their collarbone, the subject was exposed to SCP-427 and fully recovered within minutes. Physical examination noted significantly denser muscle tissue layered with deposits of an unknown metal. Subject was sedated and exposed to SCP-212. Anomaly quickly began operating. The procedure lasted nine hours. All incisions were sealed correctly with no signs of infection. Significant alterations to subjects body structure were made.

including removal of large amounts of body fat, hollowing of bones, placement of a metal structure around the heart, and placement of two unknown organic masses within the torso. The purposes of these masses is unknown. Subject was then intravenously exposed to SCP-008 through the brachial artery. Standard escalation of symptoms preceded and subject lost consciousness within two hours. Subject was exposed to SCP-427.

approximately 2 hours and 13 minutes following initial infection. All external symptoms rapidly reversed. Examination revealed that certain internal symptoms remained. notably increased muscle endurance and strength, as well as high blood viscosity resulting in negligible blood flow from wounds. Another increase in height, though this time weight gain came along with it. Skin has also become notably tougher and feels reinforced. I'm going to schedule an x-ray.

Of note, I noticed bruises on her sternum during the check-up. I won't ask where they came from, but I strongly advise you to be more careful around her. Your concern is appreciated, but unnecessary. We're handling everything according to procedure. How are you feeling? You said you were bored last time. I had them bring down a new set of books. I saw. Do you like them? They're fine. Is something wrong? What do you think?

Okay, talk to me. It's what I'm here for. I'm trapped in a cell for most of the day, and they only let me out to object me to these insane tests, and then I'm right back down here. I'm never getting out of here. That's not true. We're making great progress. And you're fine, right? I don't feel fine. I feel horrible. I want to throw up and cry at the same time after I get out of it. It's cheaper.

I haven't seen the sun in weeks. Hey, hey. It's okay. I'm sorry. You've got nothing to worry about. But you do have to tell me about these things, you know? I'm here to help you. Yeah. Yeah, I know. I'm going to see what I can do as soon as I get back to my office, alright? Alright. Thank you. Hey, doctor? Yes? I've been... Noticing? Can you answer this honestly? Please? I'll try. What is it? Do you guys really know what you're doing? What do you mean?

The testing. I don't see any pattern. I can't figure out what you want from me. I'm not following. It seems like you're just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. At my expense. Oh, no. God, no. We're not animals. We have a plan. What is it? You know I can't tell you. It's classified. I don't think you know either.

Look, these things aren't supposed to exist. The rest of the world doesn't even know about them. And we're figuring out how to safely handle them. Trust me, nobody understands these things like we do. I get that, it's just... God, I hate feeling like this. Like what? I'm just sick and scared all the damn time. Scared of what? I don't know. My next test? Sharp? It's okay to be scared. But we're on your side. I'm on your side. You know that, right? Yeah. Yeah, I know.

Subject was placed into the anomalous coffin within SCP-222. Test proceeded without incident. The clone produced by SCP-222 was recovered from the caves and designated D293B. Okay. Analysis determined that D293B was identical to D293 prior to testing, suggesting that their DNA has not been altered. D-293 and D-229-3B were placed in a secure test chamber where D-293B was exposed to a sample of SCP-610.

The temperature of the chamber was increased and within seven minutes D293B had been completely covered by SCP-610. Subject panicked and attempted to exit the test chamber. slamming against the door several times. When deterrent electrical shocks were applied, she attempted to break through the observation glass. Despite this She was quickly absorbed into the rapidly increasing mass of SCP-610. Testing was stopped, and SCP-427 was applied. The mass quickly shrank in size.

disappearing entirely within four minutes. Subject was recovered unconscious from the rest of the mass. D293b could not be recovered. D-293 was noted to have significantly altered body proportions, growing by several centimeters and having more clearly visible blood vessels. Later. 10 grams of flesh were cut from SCP-682 using SCP-2207. This flesh was dried and placed into cold storage where it froze. Subject was sedated.

and prepared for surgery. An incision was made in their lower left forearm and the sample was placed within. The incision was sealed and the subject was placed into recovery. the sample began to grow immediately and spread through the subject's body causing them significant distress the sample had spread to her upper calf when Dr. Boucher, the operating surgeon, amputated D293's left leg at the knee. After decontamination, the leg slowly regrew. Growth did not halt after the limb.

had reformed. Hey everyone, Pacific here with a quick ad break and a reminder. For just $5 a month, you can get access to ad-free episodes on our Patreon at patreon.com slash scp underscore pod. There's also a link to our Patreon in the show notes below. And now... A quick message from our sponsors. Alright, thanks so much for listening, and now, back to the episode.

This testing cycle has been our most intensive yet, and it's resulted in some unforeseen changes. Subject is absurdly thin and lanky, with a layer of toughened skin wrapped around a skeleton that's incredibly strong and light. They barely even look human. I'm growing apprehensive about their anomalous capabilities as well. The localized human rating has dropped significantly and can't be the result of the other anomalies anymore.

I have put in a recommendation to turn off the scant on reality anchors in the cell. I think we need to start thinking about backup plans. Over here. Jesus, you scared me. Are you okay? I scare you. No, no, no. It startled me. That's all. It's okay. I don't blame you. I look. Like a monster. No, you don't. I'm sorry. We still intend to keep our promise if that's worth anything. No, you don't. Maybe you do. But sharp.

It doesn't. It's written all over his face. There are workarounds. I don't have Dragon King, but I can try. Please, just leave. Hello? What do you want? Hi. Hi. I just wanted to see if you felt like talking. Why would I want to talk to any of you? Because I have news. Yeah? Your family, we've arranged for restitution. They won't have to worry about finances for a long, long time.

Why? I keep my promises. Sharp thinks it'll encourage you to be more amenable to testing. What do you think? It's an apology. I... I can't tell you how sorry I am. I didn't know it was going to turn out like this. And I know I can't make it right, but I'm going to try. I've convinced Sharp to delay the next battery of tests. Day of execution. And I'm going to go talk to him. Do you really think you can get through to him? I have to try. I'm sorry.

Dr. Boucher, please sit down. Can I get you anything? I'm fine, thank you. What can I do for you today? I have some concerns regarding D293. I expected as much. Your medical updates. I've been telling. They've been disturbing. She's barely human anymore. She might as well be an anomaly. It. I beg your pardon. It is a test subject.

And you're wasting your time trying to sympathize. It's human testing, Sharp. It's already been terrible by nature. You don't have to go out of your way to make it worse. Maybe it's terrible, but it's necessary. How are... earth is any of this necessary. What do you hope to learn? And don't give me that advancing our understanding bullshit. You know we're beyond that.

This is what the Foundation has always been about. Getting our hands dirty, doing the work that no one else can. Doing it so that everyone else can sleep at night. All your work... has accomplished this to torture a woman to the point she's no longer recognizable. We promised her she'd be able to go back to her family at the end of this. Because of you, not only will she never see them again, she won't be allowed off-site.

Not for the rest of her life. And you didn't answer my question. Look, every test had a purpose. What purpose? This isn't the 19th century anymore, Jacques. We have to deal with the insurgency, the GOIs, and two dozen world governments. We have the world's biggest treasure trove of anomalies, and we don't even have the balls to use them to our advantage. Our job isn't to use them, it's to lock them up. Are you trying to weaponize things we barely understand?

If one D-Class has to suffer for us to understand these things, I'm willing to take that deal. And don't even think about telling the subject or anyone else. You know how they'll react. You're a bastard! Site-05 incident report. February 8, 1977. At 7.50 on February 8, 1976. Sensors detected a sudden drop in light levels within D-293's containment cell. This drop in light level coincided with a significant increase in power drain from the Site-05 power station.

The level continued to drop in stages until the cell was in complete darkness. A containment breach was detected at 7.53 and a level 1 breach alarm was activated from the office of the Site-05 Director. At 8.02, three containment team personnel armed with non-lethal weapons entered the elevator leading to D-293 cell. At 8.03, the elevator scaffolding shuttered.

cheered off the wall and collapsed, crashing to the ground and killing everyone inside. At 8.04, a large bipedal entity presumed to be D-293 exited the borehole at high speed. Screaming. It is unknown how D-293 climbed out of the borehole in less than 10 minutes. But Hume fluctuations suggest the use of ontokinetics was a factor. At 8.05. MTF squads engaged the entity at its egress point. Lethal force was restricted, and only non-lethal ammunition and equipment were authorized.

The MTF squads were eliminated as the hostile entity advanced towards the interior of Site 05. At 8.10, the Site Director increased the alert level to 3. MTF squads engaged the entity at the Site-05 research compound, again using non-lethal ammunition and equipment. Air support was requested from Site Director Sharp's office, but the MTF squads were eliminated.

as the entity advanced into the test labs. At 8.13, air support was authorized by Overwatch Command. Support installation 11 of the Atreus array moved into position. Attached Scranton reality anchors were activated. The entity exited testing labs with an unidentified researcher in hand. MTF squads engaged the creature with lethal force. SRA support MTF team succeeded in wounding the entity and forcing it to retreat back into the borehole along with the captured researcher. As per Director Sharp,

MTF squads collapsed the entrance to the borehole shaft behind the entity. At 8.20, the breach alarm was rescinded. Addendum 5549.16 Transcript of a call recorded from the Site-05 Director's Office. February 15th, 1977. Begin log. Sharp. You... Fucking cretin. Excuse me? Absolute fucking buffoon! You had one fucking job shop, a single duty, and your pea-sized brain couldn't even manage to not fuck that up!

Now we're sitting on a pile of dead grunts. It wasn't my fault, goddammit. Bullshit. You know damn well that you caused this. You're the one who fed me that bullshit about bringing us back to our glory days. I thought that you could have... I did handle it. The anomaly is contained. That's not good enough. Project London Bridge.

We're supposed to be about testing anomalies, not creating new ones, you stupid little shit! I'm the one who's gonna get hit for it, not you. You'll get off scot-free. I've got the other twelve breathing down my neck, watching my next move. You don't know what it's like dealing with them? They'd sell your soul to the devil for a goddamn penny. Black-suited fox. What's gonna happen now? What's gonna happen?

is that you're going to keep your mouth shut during the hearing. You'll listen to whatever my secretary says and nod along. If they ask you for any information, keep mum. Have you trapped? Say you don't recall. We're on damage control now. I have to fly out to Site-01 to deal with the Council. We won't be meeting again. What about the site? What about D293? I intend to bury this goddamn mass so far below the ground that by the time anyone finds out she exists, the Russians will have nuked us.

Sight 01, Auxiliary Office, February 23rd, 1977. Begin log. Hello? Welcome, Mr. Sharp. Please take a seat. Can I offer you anything? Tea? Coffee? Just water, thank you. Splendid. I'm sorry, the memo declined to provide a name? Who are you, exactly? If you'll excuse the cliche, I'm afraid that's above your clearance. You've been busy these last few months, haven't you, Dr. Sharp? I suppose so, yes. Let's start from the beginning. Did you, or did you not...

proposed the first iteration of the proposal that would become Project London Bridge. I did, but... And were you aware that this would result in significant harm to a Foundation employee? A D-class employee? They're used for testing all the time. My project proposal was quite clear. They're still our employees, for better or worse. Then yes, and the project was approved as written.

You requisitioned enormous resources for this little project, Dr. Sharp. What advantage did you hope to glean? Technically, 05-11 requisitioned the resources and dropped them in my lap. He thought that valuable scientific knowledge about the interaction of anomalies using the... I've read the report. We both know this isn't true. And even if it was, it wouldn't matter. SCP. Secure. Contain.

Protect. Research is not our motto, and for good reason. Cross-testing has always been allowed, even encouraged. We were well on our way to phasing out the cross-testing programs when your proposal was pushed through. it's not only of no benefit it actively poses a danger to all those involved throwing anomalies at each other to see what happens was a hallmark of a darker age for this organization dr sharp

One that people like Eleven would like to return to. I've worked here for longer than you've been alive, Mr. Sharp. Eleven is a military man to the bone. He remembers when we were smaller. Less organized. when we could get away with things like this. I suppose he finally recalls our forays in Project Olympia and Omega-7. Is he wrong? We could make the world a better place if we used these things instead of just sitting on them. We could easily enforce order on the world and every petty conflict.

This organization is committed to making the world a safer place. But interfering in world politics is outside the scope of our operations. Let's not pretend your little adventure was anything but a... Short-sighted attempt to weaponize those anomalies. Thank you, Mr. Sharp. You've given me a lot to think about. Expect big changes in the coming weeks. You're dismissed. March 30, 1977 Overwatch Command Memo Office of the Administrator

The Department of Inter-Anomaly Experimentation is to be dissolved effective immediately. All employees are to report to their assigned human resources officer for reassignment or release. In addition, a committee is to be formed of individuals selected by the Office of the Administrator for outstanding moral resolve and adherence to the Prime Directive.

Members of this ethics committee are to hold executive authority regarding all foundation containment protocols, projects, and database entries. as well as the ability to nullify or overturn an Overwatch Command decision. This committee is backed by the full authority of the Office of the Administrator. The first action of this ethics committee will be a judgment on the events of Project London Bridge.

After significant deliberation, this committee is prepared to present its judgments on Project London Bridge, Dr. Sharpe, and 0511. Dr. Sharpe. Here. Your reckless behavior and danger led to the debts of several Foundation employees. As of right now, the product of your project is in an underground vault with an innocent researcher. A fruitless venture was of no value, took tremendous resources, and was only made possible by the meddling of your co-conspirator. Overseer 11

Your attempts to devolve this organization to a more primitive form have no place in today's foundation. Effective immediately. You are placed on administrative leave without pay. You motherfucker! While the continued terms of your employment are subject to an internal vote of the Overseer Council. Dr. Sharp is to be stripped of his Foundation credentials. No! With his...

employment terminated and demoted to D class with all associated duties and status. This committee hopes these penalties will help display that the old ways have been left behind for good reason. No, no! All my research was approved! And what about 5549? How do you plan to get rid of the time bomb you're sitting on? We're not. You're insane. I advise you watch your words. You don't have overseer protections anymore. D293 only lashed out after constant mistreatment and exploitation.

We'll establish containment and a security outpost to maintain it. But we're not going to poke a sleeping bear. Especially not one we've spent a year throwing rocks at. We owe her that much. It's a bit too late for that You might not want to admit it, but this has proved me right How so? We just used militarized troops and weapons to contain an anomaly

We're not burying our heads in the sand and shying away from it anymore. And that's all I ever wanted. The infrastructure is there now. It's only a matter of time before you decide to use it. If neither of you have any further qualms this concludes this session. Close the file on SCP-5549. File closed. What was the result of the Council vote against 05-11?

Three members abstained. Very good. Draft a message to O5-1. What is the message? I deeply appreciate the offer. Being an overseer makes you one of the most powerful people in the world. And one of the most dangerous. But my place as RISA Head and Ethics Committee member means that my job is making sure the Council remains true to its principles. No offense.

I can't do that as a member of it. Things are changing around here. And someone has to be there to make sure we don't lose ourselves during the fight. Thank you, but... I'm going to have to decline Are you ready to send the message? Send it Hello, Director Jones. I'm sorry, but this is the only recorded audio we've had from the cell in the past few months. I'd say it's quieted down, but the contents aren't exactly reassuring. Let's hear it We'll get out sooner I know oh
