We've reached the final episode in our repurposing series. And today I'm sending you off with all of my top social media manager tips so that you can make some repurposing magic happen for your teacher business. So teacher authors, go ahead and reheat that cup of coffee, because I'm your host, Cassandra Foster, and we're about to get schooled in socials. Welcome back to school and socials, we've reached the end of our content repurposing series, and I won't lie, I'm a little sad about it. Since this is my all time favorite subject, I'm sure there'll be more episodes down the road. But the goal of this series was to help you get started with repurposing your long form content effectively. So please make sure to go back and listen to the first three episodes in the series. If you haven't already, they are truly the meat and potatoes of how you can get content repurposing off the ground in your business. And today is all about letting you in on my top tips to making repurposing as easy and effective as possible. So tip number one, you need a repurposing workflow. And honestly, I don't say that as a suggestion. It's a necessity for your success. When it comes to repurposing. Do not wait until the week that your piece of content goes live to create your social media posts. This is a recipe for disaster. And instead of repurposing, feeling easier and saving you time, it can actually feel a lot harder. And here's why. If you created that piece of long form content, like your blog post several weeks ago, and you're trying to create Instagram posts for it, now, you're gonna have to go back to the post, maybe even reread the whole thing, then you're gonna have to pull your ideas from it, then you're going to need to make your posts, then you're gonna have to write the captions. And finally, you're gonna have to schedule it. That is a lot of work. So what I suggest is adding the creation of your social media posts to your long form content workflow. Actually, let me rephrase that, what I'm telling you to do is add the creation of your social media posts to your long form content workflow. Remember, this one is not a suggestion. So while you're drafting that blog post, or outlining that podcast episode, just pull up whatever system you use for creating and organizing your social media posts. Maybe that's airtable or Asana, and just start pulling ideas you could use for the posts as you go. Then as you complete that piece of long form content, pop back into that system, and create the graphics write the captions and schedule those posts. So essentially, what I'm saying here is before you say any piece of long form content is complete, your social media posts should be created and scheduled, it's just so much easier to create them when the info is fresh in your mind versus waiting. Plus, you'll have content scheduled out for a few weeks ahead of time, which always feels way better than planning week to week. And I am all for you having some peace of mind because we know life happens. Tip number two. Don't forget to repurpose your written content. We talked a lot in Episode 23 about repurposing ideas and photos and graphics. But what I want you to know is that the copy you have written is just as powerful when it comes to repurposing. So if you're a blogger you sentences and short paragraphs directly from your blog in the captions of your corresponding social media posts. Don't reinvent the wheel. Plus, this keeps your messaging super consistent. And if you're someone who records, podcast episodes, or YouTube videos, use whatever written outline you created for yourself and pull bits and pieces from that. Seriously, don't be surprised if you listen to one of my episodes, and then read the same lines and an Instagram caption. Use everything you've got. There is so much pressure this time of the year to buy more stuff from Black Friday sales to Christmas ads. But I don't want you to buy more stuff. I want you to get the right things you need to uplevel your business in this season. So that's why I've opened up my mini social media consults schedule for the next three months, so that we can make resources that are going to get stuck in your downloads and courses that are going to go immediately to your desktop graveyard like thing of the past. Instead, you're going to get my brain and your business for a focus 30 minutes so that you can make sure you have a solid plan moving forward. And you know your social media will help you reach your business goals. This is not a one size fits all solution. Instead you're going to get targeted advice that is focused on you and your business and for blah Black Friday, and until the spot sell out, you're going to be able to get it for $47, which is the lowest price point these mini consults have ever been. We're talking transformational advice that will make your social media work harder for you. For less than a night out. This isn't stuff. It's the thing, you need to get clarity and move forward with your social media marketing, you can grab your discounted spot right now in the show notes. But hurry, because once these spots that I've opened up for the next few months are gone, this price point will be gone too. I can't wait to make 2020 for the year that your social media marketing helps you reach all of your big business goals. My final tip for you all is to make sure to implement your new repurposing strategy consistently for at least 90 days before changing it. I know that can feel like a long time. But you will need that much time to truly assess what is and isn't working. I think sometimes we get caught up in this idea that social media growth should be really quick, right? We should go viral and get all of these followers and then have all of these people buy our resources. But truly, I hope you've learned by now that social media marketing is a marathon. So don't panic if things don't seem like they're making progress right away. When you start implementing repurposing into your strategy. Take those 90 days and consistently implement your repurposing strategy that you've put in place. Then review your data, assess your goals and make tweaks from there, your social media strategy will be better for it. And you will feel better about it as well, because you won't feel like you're trying things for a few weeks and ditching them and then trying to find the next thing to try. You will have a good idea of what is working and what is not working. And you can take out the things that aren't working and you can do more of what is working so you can reach those business goals. There you have it cold coffee, friends, all of the basics of repurposing your long form content for social media. And though there's so much more I could say I hope that you take these three tips to heart because they will truly help you create some long form to short form content magic in your teacher business. Now, I know I've done a few little series like this before on topics and I'm starting to wonder, would you find it helpful to have each of these series together in its own playlist? So that when you're trying to tackle repurposing head on you can just jump straight into the episodes you need to make it happen. I love to hear your input. So send me a quick DM over on Instagram to let me know. Alright, cool coffee friends. Thanks so much for listening. If you're loving getting schooled in socials, make sure to subscribe so you don't miss an episode. Also, I would love it if you left a review so that other teacher authors like you can start getting schooled in socials too. All right, I'll see you in the next episode.
