WE League with Shoko Tsuji

Japan’s first professional women’s football league, the WE League, starts this weekend! Until now, the Nadeshiko League has been the top women’s league in Japan, however, the WE League has been established with the aim of creating a generation of professional women's footballers.

The WE in WE League stands for ‘Women’s Empowerment’, with the goal of “becoming a driving force for women’s empowerment in Japan,” and, “aiming for a society where all of us involved in the league are active as protagonists.

「WEリーグ」は 年9月12日に開幕する日本初の女子プロサッカーリーグです。

日本の女子サッカーリーグは、2020年まで「なでしこリーグ」がトップリーグでしたが、”プロ女子サッカー選手”という職業の確立を目指し、新たに最上位リーグとして誕生しました。

WEリーグのWEは「Women's Empowerment」の略で、
「日本の女性活躍社会を牽引する存在になる」という意志と、
「リーグに関わる私たち（WE）みんなが主人公として活躍する社会を目指す」という思いが込められています。
