Free Kicks

Most teams have a free-kick specialist. Or rather, most teams have a player who fancies themselves as one. However, it’s actually quite rare for a direct free kick to end up in the back of the net. In the Premier League, only around 5.5% of free kicks are scored, which is quite low considering the excitement and anticipation that takes over a stadium when a free kick is awarded just outside the box.
