Episode description

In the UK, 209,600 will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes, and 70 per cent of people in care homes have dementia or severe memory problems.

I am joined by April Dobson, Head of Dementia at Hallmark Care Homes to discuss this important topic. April and I discussed the rise of awareness for people living with Dementia since the 80s when it was often disregarded as ‘just getting older'. April also gives us an insight into initiatives taken by herself and Hallmark Care Homes around what we, as carers and the general public can do to support those with Dementia such as changing our language and innovative new therapies.
