Beliefs can get handed down from generation to generation - but so can trauma. It takes a special spirit to fight against outdated beliefs within a close-knit community. In this heart-wrenching episode, Kalbir Bains (Author) describes how she went from an arranged marriage to writing her wonderful book "Not Our Daughter!". Kalbir talks about discovering and fighting against the various forms of generational trauma she has experienced firsthand; why she felt so compelled to challenge a particular abortion law that needed modernising; and how becoming an author became a reality - despite very little support or belief.
