Re: Dracula takes the famous horror tale, breaks it up chronologically (every entry of this epistolary novel has a date), and sends the story directly to your podcatcher as it happens. Every time something happens to the characters, Re: Dracula will publish an episode, in as close to real time as it happens. Some entries will be brief, and others will be long and intense.
Dr. Seward discusses Renfield's growing obsession with insects and spiders, which are becoming a nuisance. Renfield eats a blowfly, claiming it's "strong life." This gives Dr. Seward an idea, and he notes Renfield's cryptic notebook filled with numbers and calculations, hinting at a deeper problem.
Jonathan Harker's journal details his harrowing experience trapped in Dracula's castle. He attempts escape, confronts the Count in his coffin, and attacks him with a shovel. The arrival of the Susgani and Slovaks further complicates his situation as he finds himself alone with the castle's terrifying inhabitants and plots his final escape.
Jonathan Harker recounts his unsettling experiences within Dracula's castle, detailing the Count's suspicious behavior and Harker's growing fear. He attempts to leave but is thwarted by Dracula's manipulations and a pack of wolves. The episode culminates with a terrifying encounter with the three vampire women and Harker's desperate plea for help.
Jonathan Harker documents his daring plan to infiltrate the Count's room and uncover his secrets. He successfully climbs into the castle, finds a hidden passage to an ancient crypt, and discovers the Count lying in a box filled with earth, appearing neither dead nor fully alive, sparking a terrifying realization.
Jonathan Harker observes suspicious activity, including the Count wearing his clothes and leaving the castle. He experiences a hypnotic state induced by moonlight, seeing phantom shapes of ghostly women. A distraught mother appears, pleading for her child, only to be met with a horrific end at the hands of wolves controlled by the Count.
Dr. Seward's diary entry on June 18 details Renfield's disturbing fascination with spiders. He keeps them in a box and feeds them. Renfield also continues to diminish the number of flies as he attracts more flies from outside to his room.
Jonathan Harker recounts observing the arrival of wagons and Slovaks in the courtyard, his attempts to communicate with them, and his frustration at being ignored. The Slovaks unload boxes, receive payment, and then depart, leaving Harker isolated and pondering the significance of the events.
Dr. Seward reflects on Renfield's intriguing character, noting his selfishness, secrecy, and peculiar relationship with animals. Renfield's current obsession with catching flies leads to a surprising exchange, as Seward attempts to understand Renfield's motives and behavior.
Jonathan Harker discovers that all of his important papers, including notes, memoranda, letter of credit, and travel documents, have vanished. Further investigation reveals that his suit, overcoat, and rug are also missing, leading him to suspect a new, sinister plot is unfolding within the castle.
Jonathan attempts to send letters home detailing his situation but the Count intercepts them. The Count destroys Mina's letter, feigning concern while maintaining control over Jonathan's communication. Feeling trapped, Jonathan reflects on his circumstances and the deceptive calm that despair brings.
This episode features a telegram from Arthur Holmwood to Quincy P. Morris, simply stating "Count me in every time. I bear messages which will make both your ears tingle."
