Amy Ard is founder and Executive Director of Motherhood Beyond Bars in Georgia. This is a nonprofit organization helping women who deliver a baby while incarcerated. In Georgia, babies are taken from the mother within 24 hours. This organization assists in finding a caregiver for the newborn and helps financially and emotionally to keep mother, child and caregiver connected.
