Hell on, my friends. Welcome to the first Dad edition of The Money Show with less than Scott Eh. It's uh Thursday, the the seventh of November and show fifty two seventy one. I'm Preston, he's Jose. It's great to be with you. Five past the hour, and we start, as always with God's Word. That is symbolic starting with God's word. Hey, what do you do to start your show? Start with God's Word? How should you start your day with God's word? Okay, it's not a sin to not
start your day with God's Word. You can take a break, spend a little time in scripture, you can do it at lunch, you can do something later in the day, you can do something when you go to bed. I just think starting the day with it makes sense because, and if you really think about it, you probably go through some stuff during the day, some days better than others,
some days worse than others. But we're all faced with challenges, and I think it helps to have God's perspective on whatever in your mind as you start your day, because I will tell you, I think that we have a lot more say on the outcome of how every day goes than you think you do. And I'm not talking about major consequential things. There are things that we are just dependent on other people. There are things we are just I mean, we just We've got no saying. You
just gotta go with whatever happens. But attitude is everything everything. And if you just wake up and decide and determine, this is the day that the Lord has made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it. I will rejoice and be glad in it. All of a sudden, those things that happen you start to go, you know, that's just that's just a little red dude trying to poke at me. I said, a little dude with the horns and the the poke fork. Yeah. No, no, I'm
not going there loser ill for loser, yeat. No, I'm not. I'm not. I'm not falling for this. I'm not gonna be derailed by inferring what a coworker said. I'm not. I'm just not going there. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna get trapped in gossip. I'm not gonna get trapped in just having a bad day because I just feel like having a bad day. I'm gonna have a good day I'm gonna be a good worker today. I'm gonna
be a good boss, manager, employee, employer. I'm gonna be good at what I do today because it's it's reflective of my faith in Christ. I haven't even gotten to the scripture. Sorry, Romans eight one. Therefore, there now is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. If there is a trap that snares more people, it's the inability to forgive oneself. You make a mistake, you pick yourself up, You ask God for forgiveness as needed. You approach others,
your spouse, your kids, a coworker, and I apologize. I no excuses, just I apologize. Sometimes an explanation might be useful, not an excuse. There's a difference between an excuse and an explanation. But the bottom line is I apologize and then forgive yourself. Quit walking around like a martyr. Whoa is me? WHOA is me? I screwed up the other day? WHOA is me? Come on? Come on? There is therefore
no condemnation for those who are in Christ. If you're a Christian, Jesus died for your sins, accept and receive the mercy and the grace and it's new every morning, and move on, learn and move on. You don't seek forgiveness to just let God in on something. Hey God, I messed up the other day. God's like, oh, you think he knows? We confess, so we know. Ten past the hour inside the American Patriots Almanac, we go. We are off and running, okay, walking but briskly. On the
Morning Show with Preston Scott. We'll be talking and most importantly what you should be talking about. It's the Morning Show with Preston Scott, Steve Stewart. Next hour, a little reacts to the local election results. Doctor Steve steveson if you're giving a pet for a Christmas We started talking about it last time, but if you're gonna do it, listen to our conversation coming up about forty minutes past the hour. Next hour, and then Salnwso joins us for
a long sit down. We're gonna have us Senator Tommy Tuberville on the program next week. It looks like they reached out tried to get him on the show today, could not. I just couldn't accommodate. We just were booked. But yeah, we're will uh and we're gonna probably have Senator Rick Scott on he will be considered for the leader position in the United States Senate. He wants it. Okay, I'm good. I'm good with that. No to John Cornyon, No to uh is it John Thune? No, those two
are Mitch McConnell acolytes. Uh huh no, no, no, no, no, no to both of them. It'll be the same old thing. We need, we need, we need new leadership. I personally, I wouldn't mind Rick Scott. I'd love Josh Holly. Holly's not gonna seek Josh Holly to me, is among the very best in the US Senate coach. Coach is strong. He's a no nonsense dude. So what you get with a football coach man, punch in the mouth and make you like it. All right, Let's let's take a peek here.
November seventh, eighteen forty eight, Zachary Taylor elected the twelfth US President in the first ever nationwide election day. By the way, don't you think it just we just ought to make election day a federal holiday. Just shut it down, give everybody the day off, and and and let's narrow this thing down and let's get some results done. I still think there's room to federalize how the election is handled. Paper ballots, optical scanners. We don't need a bunch of nonsense.
Let's get some results that we're still waiting on results in some states. It's mind blowing. If I'm those states, I am so embarrassed. I am embarrassed, eighteen seventy four, cartooned by Thomas Nast of Harper's Weekly. In Harper's Weekly, first to depict the Republican Party as an elephant. Okay, elephants are smart. Elephants have long memories. Just saying, just saying. I saw a video of an elephant as an adult out in the wild that had been raised and rescued
by a particular person. And that person came out into the wild and found the herd. That elephant, now huge, ran and with the trunk grabbed this person that raised him or her and pulled him in and hugged him. It was unbelievable. Elephants have long memories. Let's see James Rankin, Sorry, Jeanette. Jeanette Rankin, Montana becomes the first woman elected to Congress in nineteen sixteen, a Republican. A Republican nineteen forty four FDR defeats Thomas Dewey to win an unprecedented fourth term
in office. Glad we're not doing that again. Nineteen eighty nine and Virginia Democrat Doug Wilder becomes the first African American elected governor of a US state. So there you go. Sixteen passed the out some local announcements to make Next. I think we're gonna have a migrant surge before Trump takes office. States need to do everything they possibly can to stop it and say to the Fed, screw you. No, I'm I'm telling you, bring out the National Guard and
actively patrol twenty four to seven. And if and and I know President Trump, if he hasn't already's making a call to the fairly new president of Mexico saying, I am are you pinching yourself? I mean, for many of you, this is like you gotta be kidding me. I'm gonna give you the update in just a few minutes in the big stories. And it's staggering. It's a mandate. We have a mandate. It has not happened in a while. I've come across a handful of Democrats that are like duh,
our party's gone to the looney birds. And I'm not talking about old Democrats. I'm talking about younger democrats. They're saying we have gone loon left. What did you think was gonna happen? What did you think was gonna happen? When you insulted and condescended people that love this country, maybe think differently than we do, but love this country. What did you think was gonna happen? What did you think was gonna happen? With the total mismanagement of the
southern border, with the economy, with defunding the police? Are you kidding me? I? There's a the one thing that I will say that has refreshed me, even on the view, Joi Bihar said the people have spoken, and that the name of the character the elephant Bihar. No, it's anyway, is it? Joy Behar? Yeah? See that's how much I pay attention. Oopsie Goldberg, Sonny host In, I forget who the others are. They change all the time because they can't stand each other for only so long, so it
rotates around. But no, seriously, joy Joy, And I'm not trying to be funny. I literally I don't know how you say her last name Joi Bihar Behar anyway, she said that people have spoken, who's a fair election. That's the one thing that's somewhat refreshing. They're saying, yeah it, this is what people want. Yeah, not enough. I'll be honest with you. I'm shocked that forty percent of this country thinks Kamala was the right vote. I'm shocked some
of you think it was the right vote. It's just it's very difficult for me to comprehend that said, Trump has a chance to do something pretty remarkable. And I'm not talking just policy, and we'll unpack all of this over time and so forth. But yeah, I've got some just some remarkable stats, I really do. Forty nine of the fifty states went further read. Forty nine of fifty New York, Illinois, New Jersey all added significant red to their blue state color. I mean Trump lost to Illinois
by four points. I think Jersey by five? Are you kidding me? And everyone was mocking him for going to Madison Square Garden, remember making fun of him for being in New York. Governor Hawk Hackle making fun of him. Oh no, no, no, no. He was sending a message to New Yorkers that don't like the way things are I'm here for you. I'm here for you in California, I'm I am. I'm not writing you guys off because
you live in a blue state. So smart, all right, quickly hold on here Appital Conservatives on Tuesday, doctor Irwin Jackson is going to be the guest speaker. And anyone that's a Tallahassee you know, reports reader and follower what's going on in the city owes a huge debt of gratitude to doctor Jackson. He'll be the guest speaker. You do have to rs VP for the buffet dinner. It's
sixteen dollars a person. Elks Lodge Capital Conservatives. If you're interested, you can email is it I I L. Duley L. Dooley d u L. E Y at embark embarkmail dot com. They need to make this easier. They need they need a website. You people need a website. You just do this is this is silly. Just show up. What are they gonna do to me? They want me to announce it?
Show up? Just show up, flood them. We need younger people involved with the Capital Conservatives because it's a group of primarily older, older folks, and we need we need, we need to spice it up a little bit. Also if you are, if you're a hunter, my friends at Dog Pond Kennels have a new litter of gsps.
Uh.
They've got eight left, six black roans and two liver rones. They've got a total of five males, three females. And so if you're interested, these are beautiful puppies. These are beautiful, beautiful puppies. And these are these are going to be outstanding dogs because they just that's how they do with Dog Pond. So if you're interested, just saying Christmas gift interested, reach out Pond Kennels dot com, tell him you heard about it from me, Ask about the GSP puppies that
are available, and then go out and see one. Okay, twenty eight past the hour went long, But what's new? It's Morning Show with Preston Scott. The Morning Show with Preston Scott. Listening to Christmas music in the breaks, Michael W. Smith, Carrie Underwood singing all is well. Okay, I gotta get the tears out of my eyes. Seriously, I'm just such a sucker. All right, here we go. Big stories in the press box. The electoral wind just got bigger for
Trump and let me give you the latest. He's now at two ninety five two hundred and ninety five electoral votes. When the counting is done, he'll win Nevada. Right now, Get your mind around this. Eighty nine point seventy three percent of the precincts reporting in Nevada. What the heck are you talking about? Nevada? Trump is at fifty one percent, Harris at forty seven percent. He'll win Nevada. That's six
more electoral votes. In Arizona, he's at fifty two percent to Kamala's forty seven percent, with sixty nine percent of the precincts report. What this is? This is at this is such gross incompetence in these states not reporting, So he's gonna win both of those states. That puts him at three hundred and twelve electoral votes to three twenty to two twenty six for Kamala, nearly a one hundred electoral vote difference, a popular vote win. This speaks volumes
about the job that's in front of Trump. I did. I did a little digging. Guess what the vote was in Washington, DC ninety two percent, Kamala seven percent, Trump inside the Beltway ninety two percent Kamala seven percent of the people that voted inside Washington, DC have their head out of their wallet. It's incredible Trump won Michigan forty nine states. Went further read that Joe Scarborough said it nothing like it since Reagan in eighty four, his second
term landslide. It's it's remarkable. It speaks volumes, it speaks to how out of and we've heard this before. We heard it in twenty sixteen. Only this was resounding in twenty sixteen. Hey, remember I was broadcasting, I was covering it. I've been covering elections since two thousand and two. We have a media that is so out of touch with what people are really thinking and experiencing. They're over it. They're over being told what to do. They're over being
told what to buy. They're over being told all the excuses for why these people live this way, but tell us how we're supposed to live. They're over us being weak and oh, by the way, compromised in our national security. They're sick of the border being invaded. They're sick of seeing stories of innocence being murdered and raped by people it should not be in this country. They're sick of seeing the taxes go up and up and up, and
we're going to keep blaming businesses. Department of Justice might be conceding defeat in their efforts to basically shackle Donald Trump. NBC News is reporting that they may be ending their cases against Trump. That's the single biggest question I've had, and so we'll touch on that a little bit more forty one past the hour. More to come, big stories in the press box and more here on The Morning Show with Preston Scott. The Morning Show with Preston Scott
on News Radio one hundred and point seven. Double UFLA. There was a fraudulent case brought in New York. Totally fraudulent. You can say he's a convicted felon. No he's not. Who's the victim? Where are the damages? You do? Know? See this is the problem. Too many people still rely on the media that has been discredited at every turn as it relates to Trump. They don't want to do their job, they don't want to dig. Alvin Bragg resurrected charges that were never supposed to be applied to someone
like Trump. And I'm not talking because he's a former president. Anybody they didn't apply. There is no victim, There was no financial crime. No one didn't get paid, no one was defrauded, nothing. It was all based on the payment to Stormy Daniels. Wasn't listed as a campaign expense. I think is out how they're wording it, and it should have been well, first of all, no, it shouldn't have been. Secondly, whatever,
back in the day, the dude had an affair. If you didn't know that, you're foolish, because he wrote a book about all the affairs he had. My God, and he did what a lot of celebrities do, engaged in a relationship and had the person he's engaged in a relationship with signed an NDA non disclosure agreement. She violated it. By the way, did you know she owes him six hundred thousand dollars? Did you know Stormy Daniels owes Donald Old Trump six hundred thousand dollars? Anyway, So we'll see
the bottom line is people are what about the cases? Nothing? No, seriously nothing. Supreme Court. We're waiting to see if they're going to take up cases addressing transgender participation in female sports. The Supreme Court needs to take this up because we don't have enough people with courage to deal with it. And it's one of the great shames of our society. And this again is where the left has lost so many people. This is low hanging fruit. What do you
mean there's multiple genders? Stop it, you're being stupid. There's two three if you consider the movie with Robin Williams Missus Doubtfire. Okay, he dressed up as a chick. I'm just kidding. Eight states. Eight states approved constitutional amendments making absolutely certain non citizens cannot vote in state or local elections. Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Wisconsin past constitutional amendments
saying no, no illegals can't vote. How sad is it that we have to do this? And credit to George W. Bush, his daughters, they've lost their mind, Laura Sadly, I have great regard for Laura Bush. I think she was I think she's a delightful lady. She's just wrong about abortion, just totally wrong about abortion. But Bush would not take the bullying of Liz Cheney and others. He did not endorse Kamala Harris released a statement, the strong turnout in this election is a sign of the health of our
republic and the strength of our democratic institutions. Laura and I are grateful to the election officials, poll workers, volunteers who oversaw a free, fair, safe, and secure election. We join our fellow citizens in praying for the success of our new leaders at all levels of government. Thank you, Thank you, seriously, thank you. There you go. Forty six now, forty seven minutes after the hour, come back, and we'll talk a little bit about the media reaction, or shall
we say the media meltdown. Well, as I mentioned earlier in the program, I did not watch the view. I watched some clips and I went to a few aggregate sites that listed a lot of the media reaction. And there's some media reaction on the left that is rational and reasonable. They're just so disconnected they don't understand how
they could have been so wrong. And I've I wasn't the only one to tell you this, but I told you where Trump was in polling, and that it was an indicator that he was really in a good place, because people just aren't going to say they're voting for Trump. They're just going to do it. If they're Republicans. They're not answering the polling they're sick of it. They're sick of the texts, they're sick of the emails, they're sick of all of it. And if there's another bright side
to this election, it's not just Trump winning. It's not just the country moving definitively more right, more sensible. It's all this male and email and texting stops good golly, and so people just Trump was always going to overperform always, and so when the polling said, oh, it's even it's it's a dead time, No, it wasn't. It just wasn't. And so you know, doctor Bob McClure is the first one that said on this show, and you know, some of you may remember, we've done an election night thing
here or there over the years. I've decided against it because in recent years it's about clear people just want to watch TV and be at home and I can pop on the radio at night and why tucker myself out and have one of those nights where I get four hours of sleep. I just there was no point in it for me, and so I've just stopped doing it. But years ago doctor McClure was in here and he just and his analysis of things, and we're voting pockets are not just in Florida but all across the country.
And his analysis of polling was just so good. I remembered that, and so when he said on the show last month, Trump, I think's going to win the popular vote, I was like, Okay, if Doctor Bob's saying that there's some meat on that bone, sure enough, it's a landslide. Now, as I said, you know, people on the view some were melting down. I mean internment camps. He's going to
put people in internment camps. Well, if you're talking about the illegals that are in this country and they need to be housed somewhere until we ship them out, Okay, Honestly, I'm fine with that. I don't know about you. I'm fine with that. But he's not going to put his enemies in internment camp. He has proven time and again that's not his style. We'll get to his opportunity, but I want to get to some comments that were made
on MSNBC. You just need to hear this thirty seconds long, and it's a little eagery the house.
We're not going to know for weeks, but it's possible that Donald Trump and the Republicans will have a trifecta as they did in twenty sixteen, in which case the bulwark against whatever overreach there could be and whatever those depredations might be. And I think you're going to have a tendency to overreach if they do. Is the kind of thing that's democracy between elections, which is the work
of civil society. It's a work of the fourth of state, it's a work of institutions, it's a work of citizens. All that super important stuff.
He's talking about the deep state. It's the deep state's job now to stop Trump. Now, there are a few things you need to remember. Number One, this is in twenty sixteen. Trump has a totally different Congress he's going to be working with because a bunch of them, oh Trump, they're seat in Congress. Secondly, people can read the tea leaves. They've seen what's gone wrong. So this is just a
further indication of the battle wins that are ahead. Here we are Thursday, already two days after this morning show with Preston Scott. That's Hose. I'm Preston. It's November seventh show, fifty two seventy one. But who's counting in studio with me? Is the executive editor of Tallassee Reports, the One, the Only, Steve Stewart, Hello, sir, good morning, Preston. When you woke
up Wednesday, you were able to digest it well. I mean we knew the results before we went to bed on Tuesday, because Florida does elections pretty well, all the unbelievable right last twenty plus years, we've gotten it together. But in fairness as well, Leon County has always handled a good election. I mean, going back to the days of Sancho, they've done their job mark early, the new they not new, but he's he's the election supervisor. They do their job well here, very good.
He's yeah, he's very comfortable with his efforts and yeah, very right around.
You know, goes right by the book.
Everything's done right and I've talked to him a couple of times and it's always got the right answers.
Very responsive to requests and outreach. So we had a good election, a fair election. When you went to bed, what were your thoughts and what were your thoughts when you woke up the next day about local elections? Yeah, so again locally here the results are known very early.
They count the early vote, which was which was a lot, and they go ahead and dump the early vote and you see where things are locally, and when they dumped those votes, My my sort of tick was that if Dodham and Johnson didn't have over fifty three percent of the vote when it was dumped early, that she was going to lose. And so when it got dumped, she had about fifty point five percent, and so I knew that.
I thought at that point that she was not going to win because the ect day voting was more would be more moderate, more conservative, and that's what happened. Curtis Richardson ended up winning out of what was it by a thousand votes, very close race, fifty five percent. You know, the thing that I thought about when it saw the results, there was a right so I think the city doesn't know what they avoided there. There was gonna there was gonna be a lot of changes if Didam and Johnson
had won. The things that immediate came to mind was that Commissioner Mattlow had has spent the last four or five years and hundreds of thousand dollars from outsided state donors, California donors including Jane Fonda, and he's got nothing except a divided community and a history of just promoting rhetoric.
And so I think if you look at Curtis Richardson was very gracious in accepting, you know, his victory, but at the same time he took a shot across the bow about how the local Democratic Party, led by progressive Ryan Ray and Commissioner Mattlow needs to be addressed. And I think that's going to be an implication of this race moving forward, especially given some of the media reports right up to the election, which you know.
Daylight and a dollar short. But it would least it was out there.
It was out there, but it really showed the behind the scenes working of Commissioner Mattlow, Commissioner Reporter maybe violations of the law. Sunshine Law is you know, we're going to go back and look at some of this stuff. I mean, you know, they had a meeting to set up, you know, basing an electioneering operation, and at that meeting they discussed city issues and Porter and Mattlow were there. I mean, I think it's pretty clear now that is
a clear violation of Sunshine Law. Yes, and so you know, to argue, you know, you hear Commissioner Mattlowe talk about corruption and stuff. I think it's time really to start digging in what's going on here with with the Progressives and how they're manipulating a system.
But anyway, back to the election results, so Curtis Richardson won.
That was a Titus race, and so that you know, the city will continue with the two split commission. Mattlow's up for election in two years, so we'll see what happens moving forward.
The MO as I talked.
With you a little bit earlier about the way they behave is the planning evidence fiasco with the TPD, which Commissioner Mattlow pushed really heavily, turned out to be basically fake news. There's no investigation of how that happened. When it sort of backfires, they just sort of drop it and move on. I think that's going to be their approach here. They're just going to act like nothing happened.
We didn't get any money from out of state, we didn't do anything unethical behind the scenes, and they're just going to try to act like things are normal. That's going to be the key to the local media to investigate what's going on behind the scenes with the Democratic Party, which is again headed by commission Mattlow's aid, and I think they're going to find some what's the beginning. That last story right before the election is the beginning. I think of a more in depth investigation.
I have long argued, ladies and gentlemen, that it is inconceivable that a sitting commissioner who is supposed to be in a nonpartisan seat as the chairman of the local Democrat Party as his aide. It is wrong, it is misguided, and as we're seeing, there are consequences to having that little arrangement ten past the hour more with Steve Stewart minutes pass the hour in our newscast here locally, for those that are outside the area, you don't necessarily hear it.
Steve I mentioned that all the incumbents won locally, I would chalk up Jeremy Mattlow as the only local elected official who lost. Yes, that's nice spend, But what's the big takeaway on the fact that the incumbents all retain their seats, even if it is a narrow margin in the case of Curtis Richardson.
Yeah, I think if you go you a look at this, and this is for people who are thinking about running. If you look at some of the races, the local races. If you don't have a pressing issue, it is really tough to beat an incumbent, and that you know, it comes from some experience. And you've really got to be able to go after the incumbent. And when I say go after, you've got to be able to say, Hi.
Here's what they did wrong.
Yeah, this is what they did wrong, and this is how I would do things differently. And if you can't do that, you're going to lose sixty forty, you know, sixty five thirty five.
And we saw that in the number of races. Now on the other side of this.
If you look what you know, if you look what Commission Matley did, if you go back to the primary, if you've got enough money to dirty up a race, to go like, let's go back swing mud sling mud like they did with the Lori Cox school board race. They put up someone who never run for office, never really had a background, but they put a lot of money and started lying about Lori Cox's record. And you have enough money to do that, then you can make it close. The same thing with Curtis Richardson.
I mean, look, there were a couple issues there to address. You could have.
Wreved the thing with Curtis to say, look, tax increase, But the answer to that, what's your answer, you know, are you going to cut law enforcement?
But that's not what they did.
They took the money and dirtied them up, went on abortion, you know, legalization of marijuana, called him a conservative, a Republican.
So that's where you have to have a lot of money.
But if you don't have the issues on your side, you're going to lose most of the time. And I think that is one of the biggest takeaways here local politics.
I've said this before. You know, Republicans, which make up you know, thirty percent of the local vote in the city twenty eight percent, they are more concerned with national and state issues.
Those are the ones that they think affect their life. They don't really view local as affecting them too much. However, they will vote against you if you do something stupid or if you you know, if you get on their nerves, and it doesn't matter what party you're in.
We saw that a few years ago in District four.
So you've got to have an issue that you can hang your hat on and that you know over the years, I'm getting to be obviously long into two people call me up and say, you know, I'm thinking about running. That is my message to them. If you don't have an issue, that you can hang your hat on to say, this is how I'm different. Save your time, save your money, and save me some time too.
What what surprised you more that Curtis managed to pull it out or that city voters actually decided to give city commissioners a race, and a substantial one. I think the I wasn't surprised.
I mean, I was not surprised about the Kurz Richardson race and pulling it out. I was surprised it was so close, which you'll go back and look at the numbers. If you remember day on the north side, northeast part of the city bailed him out well, all big time.
And I think that's what it's going to be. And I hope Curtis, if you're listening, you remember that before you start talking badly about Republicans.
Yeah, and I don't think you know, you don't have to all of a sudden say you're a Republican.
Yes. All you got to do is talk about stuff that is local.
And Curtis is good about doing that for the most part, you don't need to get into part of some politics and the position that you're in, I mean, and so so that wasn't a surprise. The pay raise was surprised until I went back. Look, I have a number of people in my household who are are voting, all right, and so they get they get the uh, the ballot information and are looking through it.
And so I went back and read the amendment.
And if you read that, if you're not involved like we are, if you're somebody that's going to vote and did not even know that this amend was on there, and you read the amendment language, it doesn't say anything about doubling salary, doesn't even say what the salary is.
It just says it's going to be equal to the Leon County Commission. If you're like a you know, if you're a voter, and you're like.
Yeah, sounds good, amazing good, They're going to be like the Leon County Commission.
And I think that's what led to that.
So, but to that point, your point about Ryan Ray now being the aid to Jeremy Matlow, this increase in salary, I think what comes with that is more even more responsibility from scrutiney scrutiny, responsibility and commission. Mountin is gonna have to start answering to this now given these getting a pay raise.
Interesting all right, more to com with Steve Stewart and we've got much more to talk about. Subscribe get the paper Tallahassee Reports dot com. I know a lot of you remember when Rush Limbaugh was on the air, he would joke about the fact that he was show prep for all the other shows in America, and Tallasi Reports is news prep, uh, for all of the news outlets here.
If they have the courage to follow up on the stories that Steve and his team break, we will will become a better community because that's the role of the media. Sadly we've lost that nationally, that level of accountability and uh and Steve, you had just sort of mentioned something previously our Tallahassee first. What is that and and what's the significance?
So real quick, if you go look at what happened nationally, one of the one of the big losers was now the mainstream.
Media big Yeah.
So it's it's become more about alternative outlets now because of you know a lot of different things and it filters all the down, all the.
Way down locally.
If you don't have you know, if you don't have good information, if you don't have good news, people they're they're unengaged and things, you know, things happened that shouldn't be happening.
And so here locally.
You know, look, we've been doing this now since twenty ten, and we've grown in terms of what we're trying to do, nuts and bolts reporting on local government, and we're having we're having an impact. And one of the reasons why I say that is you start looking at what other people are doing. And there was a story that was broken, that was broken by the Talentsed Democrat and they actually called us a news outlet for I think for the
first time ever. And the story was about this group, our Talahassee, which was a blog and it started a couple of years ago and it was a left wing progressive It was started by Max Hurley and some other people who were trying to basically counterbalance Talleent Has to Report. And I remember getting some questions from them when we were when they were talking to me.
About you know, how are you doing this, how do you make money doing this?
And and so they started this and so now what's happened is one of the one of the members got upset with how it was work, how it was going.
Uh, they've disbanded. There's some lawsuits involved.
But when that happens, you know, documents start ending up in newsrooms and the tis the Democratic got some documents that showed the Commissioner Matlow and Commissioner Reporter were behind propping up this this blog and we talked about it earlier about the sunshine violations. They had a presentation to where they talked about city business, they talked about you know, pushing broadband, they talked about adding uh, you know, annexing south side neighborhoods, which is city business.
And that's another issue. But one of the can I just ask you does that become state business? It may.
You know, we're gonna have to look at what the Sunshine law is and what the penalties are and how you enforce that.
But again, so.
The these documents are starting to come out, and and it was coming out because they were concerned about Talas reports basically revealing facts about their operation and what progressives wanted. And that's you know, nationally we talk about this, just say who you are. The thing that is really mind boggling about the progressives here locally is they don't they don't want to admit who they are. They run these campaigns trying to fool people about abortion, marijuana, politics and
stuff like that. Just say we want to cut law enforcement, we want to increase your electric rate on own it, and then see where you end up. But they don't want to do that. So we start reporting that and they get a little bit agitated because we're telling the truth. Yeah, and so you know, so they start doing these these things that I think are unethical. Obviously, if you see this meeting, you talk about the planning the evidence on the TPD officer, you go back and look to look
at that. That's Max Hurley, you know, And it turned out to be nothing but Commission Mattlowe was the only elected official that really pushed on this planning evidence issue. So they're doing things that are really trying to uh, not good for the community. They're not trying to move TALHASI forward. But one of the things I wanted to talk about was sort of the and I used this word with quotes around it, but it's thug tactics. They go around and they start talking to other media outlets,
they start spreading different and disinformation about Talhouse reports. And so there was one thing that happened which I think really did cross the line, and I want to talk about it here and we're going to continue to investigate it. But Ryan Ray, who was head of the Democratic Party and the progressive sort of movement, went to a elected official and tried to get them to help cancel our advertising with the local government. Now cancel the advertising that
the local government had with Talent's reports. Okay, okay, Now, if you think about that, Preston, that is political retribution against a news outlet, which is, you know, we don't even have an opinion page.
We're we're printing facts.
Now, you may argue that you know we're biased and what facts we choose to print, you can argue that, but you can't argue with the facts that we're printing. And so you've got ahead of a local Democratic party going to an elected to an elected official asking this elected official to go move it up to chain and to get our advertising canceled. Now that if you have to have damages to follow up on this, and nothing
happened because cooler heads prevailed. But my point is the people in this community need to understand the head of the progressive movement and what they're trying to do.
They're trying to hurt people.
They're mean spirited, and we're going to continue to expose this in the coming in the coming weeks, ten months.
It's interesting because years and years and years ago, a local elected official tried a similar tactic with me and ended up in uh in our headquarters city of San Antonio, Texas. Didn't work out very well.
Yeah, I think you know what, again, there is there is evidence across the country of this happening, and actually, you know in smaller cities where they actually cancel advertising and they get sue because it's a violation of First Amendment. It's a federal it's a federal light, violation of federal wall. And so we're gonna out what the progresses are doing behind the scenes and we'll.
See where the chips fall. All right, well done, thank you, pres Talk to you soon. A night. Steve Stewart with us tell us your reports, Remember subscribe tell Usireports dot com.
This is the Morning Show with Preston Scott.
Thirty six passed the Our great quote here is sent to me by a buddy on my phone of Ronald Reagan. It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I've learned. It bears a striking resemblance to the first, which of course is prostitution. That's just brilliant. It's just brilliant. This this was not in my initial big stories, but I think it ought to be. This is fascinating. Get
your mind around this. Votes cast two thousand and four, one hundred and twenty one million, two thousand and eight, one, twenty nine, twenty twelve, one twenty six, twenty sixteen, one twenty eight, twenty twenty four, let's skip twenty twenty, twenty twenty four, one twenty nine. What do they have in common? All in the one hundred and twenty million ish range twenty twenty Joe Biden one hundred and fifty five million votes.
Excuse me? When this was posted, some folks wrote, bleep, y'all, maybe we really did steal the election in twenty twenty. You think I didn't mention last hour when I got to talking about where we stand right now in the president's race. He won Michigan yesterday. He will likely get Nevada and Arizona, which will put him at three hundred and sixteen electoral votes to Kamala's two twenty six A blowout, it's a blowout. Every state except one went further red.
That one I believe is Delaware. Every state went further read. Every state doesn't mean they're read. That means that blue state's got a little less blue or a lot less blue. Some flipped. But in the Senate, well, now this gets interesting. Right now, it's fifty two Republican senators. That's a lock. Fifty two. Nevada is still at eighty nine percent reporting and the incumbent Democrat Rosen Senator Rosen is ahead by
less than one percent. In Arizona, Carrie Lake continues to close the gap to less than two points, just over two points, and there's only sixty eight percent reported there. I wouldn't count those as likely wins. I would count Pennsylvania. They're probably gonna send Bob Casey packing. McCormick's likely to
win that race. It's it's a razor thin margin. It's less than half a percent, So there'll be a recount, which who knows what will happen, but as of right now, that would be the fifty third seat, and so's those are your races right now that are still to be decided, So that's kind of interesting. Forty minutes past the hour, let's talk about a Christmas gift of a pet. Good idea, bad idea, some tips. Next President Scott. Next hour News
with Consumer's Defense. Will take time to talk about a lot of issues from a state perspective, broad state perspective, and a national perspective. Lots to talk about. But now, yeah, buddy, time to talk about your four legged friends. It's time for Pause for Thought on the Morning Show with Preston Scott joining us doctor Steve Steverson of the Bradfordville Animal Hospital. Good morning, doctor Steverson. How are you, hey, Preston.
I'm doing great. How are you.
I'm excited this time of year because well, I mean, you see the videos pop up on YouTube of kids getting a pet for Christmas, and you know it's exciting. It is, but it's got to be the right fit if you're getting a kitten or a puppy or a dog or a cat. So we started talking about this last time we visited. I wanted to ask you are there certain breeds that go with certain lifestyles and that might that might be better fit. So let's talk about
the breeds that fit what kind of lifestyle. Let's start with dogs and then go to cats.
Absolutely. So you know, if you have a you know, a really busy lifestyle. Let's say you're an athlete, you're a runner. You know, you go racing five k's and ten k's and things like that. You're out a lot of time early morning, at some point in the day taking a long run. You want a pet that's going to run with you. Well, if that's the case, then you know you want to get like a libor retriever or a visla. You know, something that's big and athletic,
it can can handle all of addicts. Or go get a no, don't get exactly, don't get a bug or a French bulldog if that's your plan, right. But on the other hand, if you'd like to come home and come up with a good book and watch TV or read a book, then you know, a visla or a labor retriever or may not be the talk to you. Maybe then you want to get something like a French bulldog or a you know, a Maltese or a Cocker spaniel, something's going to sit with you and cuddle with you.
Are there depends on your lifestyle.
Are there certain breeds that adapt to either lifestyle.
Very much? So there are some some breeds that are very Adactual Golden Retrievers, for example, can be a very adaptable breed. You can also there are Britney Spaniels are known typically through throughout the veterinary world as a hyperactive dog. Where we see some Britney Spaniels that are very good dog and they are a smaller dog that's very it can be very very active and athletic, or they can be very calm and quiet. A lot of people have
certain breeds like that. You can English cocker or a Britney Spaniel that will be a great pet at home. And then on early Saturday morning when Dad comes out, we're in his hunting gear. The dog's all excited because I know it's going to be a day in the field. And so some dogs are very adaptable to multiple different lifestyles. So yeah, and there are other reasons you be very aware of as well. If you're getting a pet for
somebody else and it's going to be a surprise. Make sure you know what they're lifestyle is and what they need for their lifestyle.
And make sure they want a pet, and the responsibility that comes with.
That's absolutely pressed. And that's for sure. You never want to a pet as a gift to just come out of left field. Why don't you want to make sure the person's receiving it knows that you know for a long time they've wanted a pet.
What about cats, Doctor Stever say to an outsider that's not a cat person, it looks like cats are pretty much all the same, are they?
Typically most cats are much much more laid back. We do see exceptions to that, but it's not any sort of breed predisposition there really all. You know, there are some breeds, like maybe some Persians that are much more calm and quiet, but even there you'll find some cats are very active and athletic. So in cats, it's more of the personality of the of the kitten is what's going to develop, more than that specific breed that you're looking for.
Is there any kind of warning that we should maybe just touch on about, you know, a age or anything like that with regard to giving a pet.
You know, a couple of ideas. They're pressed, and sometimes it is better talk to the person who's give it. You may need to be better. One idea is to give a give the the person a gift certificate for a pet. The two if you go together to pick out a pet that they want for their lifestyle, they may may not want to go through puppyhood and all the house training and the chewing and the things like that. Yeah, so they may prefer to get a pet that's a
little older. See, you don't know that if you don't talk to them about it.
Yeah, makes sense.
You know, that's a good idea there, And then you know you can also you can go to the shelter and you can foster to adopt. You can foster a pet you think you may want. And if you foster and you get a home and find out that it's it has some problems or whatever, it's not going to fit your lifestyle, you can take the pet back to the shelter and pick another one. And so sometimes that's a good easy option to do as well.
Break my heart. I'm a softie. It would break my heart to take a dog back, even though I know it wouldn't fit my life. I'd be like, oh, look at his eyes, he's looking.
That is that definitely is true. I can appreciate that.
Doctor Steverson. Thank you. I know in coming weeks we're gonna start talking about some other aspects of Christmas gifts and toys for our pets that we love. So thanks for the time, my friend.
Great.
Thank you, doctor Steve Steverson with us some tips advice if you're thinking of a pet for the holiday season. Here in the Morning Show with Preston Scott Sound there's one just a few from Consumer's Defense. It is Thursday on the Morning Show. Always a busy day, just tends to be that way. And I have to tell you, I'm so grateful to kind of have the election in the rearview mirror, and there is a real opportunity here. Did you see what the markets did yesterday? The Dow
Jones jumped over fifteen hundred points. Now it's overvalued. Don't don't lose sight of that. It should not be sitting at forty three whatever in some change. It just shouldn't. It's way overvalued. But the markets, the Nasdaq, the S and P they all jumped. Why because they know the economic policies of Trump will work and benefit business and
manufacturing in this country. Huge indicator or huge so that I mean fifteen oh eight in the Dow, five point forty four in the Nasdaq sn P one forty six jumps, those are all jumps, incredible, and so that's a good thing. That's a very good thing. Yes, it's November, which means my road trip ideas revolve around Christmas and Christmas movies and all things Christmas. Here's my first suggestion, the House
from a Christmas Story. Now, I'll be the first one to tell you I'm not a huge fan of the movie. It's eh, it's okay, but I respect the place it has in the hearts of many. And this is a thing, the iconic residence, the House from a Christmas Story immortalized in the film, and you can go there where Ralphie Parker and his family lived, restored to capture the essence of the movie. Setting offers a year round tour, options to stay overnight. They've got shopping, they've got all kinds
of options there. And you can also stay now at the Bumpus House. They have that too, They've acquired that property, they've got a museum. And so if you're into that. It's a thing. And so what you do is you go to the website home house, sorry, house from a Christmas story dot com, House from a Christmas Story dot com, and there you can reach out and find out more. It's Cleveland. There are other things you can do in and around Cleveland. The Rock and Roll Museum is there.
It's pretty, it's cool. It is and if you get a chance to go to a Browns game, it's worth it just because it's Cleveland and it's the Browns. That's a legendary franchise. Anyway, what a great That's what we're gonna be doing. We're gonna be doing for our Thursday road trips, Christmas villages, Christmas stays, Christmas places to go visit. So if you're out on the road, if you want to make a roadie, there you go Cleveland and at least take the tour, if not, spend the night and
send me pictures of the hope. You know what I mean? All Right, we come back, sal Newso joins us third hour. It's gonna be a kind of a lay back conversation about the election the aftermath, some interesting thoughts of what might be next on the Morning Show with Preston Scott, probably wearing my make June Great Again shirt. It's It's
the Morning Show with Preston Scott. It's Thursday, November seventh, and it's gonna seem really weird to hear Salnwzo's voice on a Thursday, because he's like, he's a he's a Monday guy on the show. But we decided let's shake things up a little.
Bit in a very chipper on a Monday too, So yeah, you know, Thursday's not my normal day. So I'm like, you know, I had, I had, I had an extra cup of coffee to bring it to a lot of sorts. Coming in here on a it's different. Yeah, traffic was different, the floor was different, you know, But here we am and we are two days later. Two days later. I didn't know, and there was a part of me that didn't think we would even know on Thursday.
The presidential race, well you heard my theory. Maybe you didn't, you're a busy guy. My theory was that if the numbers were in fact quote too big to rig, that they'd fold up their ten they'd call the race. And in the states that are questionable because they didn't want the scrutiny that would come. The problem is now the scrutiny on twenty twenty is just massive. Well, and with the numbers that are out there, and one of.
The charts that I saw was total votes cast in each election presidential going back to like two thousand and eight or something, and depending on what the final numbers for this cycle come in at, we're talking somewhere fifteen million additional votes in the twenty twenty race. That just kind of materialized that in reality that number could actually
be twenty five million. Well, and depending yeah, so I'm gonna once the final numbers come in, dig into the total registered voters that turnout and try and figure out if there is a logical or reasonable explanation on this.
But chure it's called ballot harvesting.
I do not know of a reason apart from fraud, that this would be you know, explainable.
You know. It leads us to our first topic, And I think we've learned to celebrate how good Florida has become in the way you talk about learning from a I sore of an election. My goodness, the two thousand election Florida was an embarrassment of the country. And now we are the we are the bell Weather of elections.
We're the gold standard. Yes, and I'm glad that you mentioned the two thousand race, the Bush vy Gore race, because you have millions of Floridians who were not even in Florida, didn't live here, and some who weren't even born that don't remember it. And so back in the aftermath of twenty twenty, when I was with the James Madison Institute, we did a very in depth examination and analysis of everything that Florida did between two thousand and
twenty twenty to become the gold standard. And it's remarkable because the tweaks that were made aren't necessarily big deals, but it's something that if you know, a handful of these states that continue to have challenges would adopt some reasonable mechanisms for tabulating reporting, especially on the early vote and the mail in vote, we would not have even
the potential for issues in future cycles. Don't you find it interesting that here we are four years later in the same set of states basically had the same issues. Now most of them resolved them quicker this time, but Nevada and Arizona is still sitting there with seventy and eighty percent of the vote counted in a bunch of remaining. Yeah.
And what Florida does specifically, which every other state should do and we would never have this problem again, is what's called the pre canvas. Now, the pre canvas is when the early and mail in votes go in. When the election offices receive the mail in votes, most of the other states they leave them in the envelopes. They're sealed until election night. Than when the polls close, they
start opening and counting it. Florida, what they do is they open the votes, they collect the votes, they tabulate the votes, and they're ready to report within seconds of the polls closing. And so what you see in Florida that you don't see in Arizona, Nevada, in Pennsylvania is this immediate I hate the word dump, but an immediate dump of vote data.
Yeah.
On forty to fifty percent of the votes that need to be counted. So all that's left of to count are the day of votes totals, which is easy to do.
And in Florida, generally speaking, in almost every county you got a paper backup.
You have it, not almost every county, in every county. It's a state law, So we do it the way that we do it here in Landa County. We have a standardized ballot form with optical scan.
Very thing is consistent and so and if the worst happens, you got paper ballots exactly.
And if I move from Leon County to Gatstan County or Ossiola County, I'm not going to be unfamiliar with the ballot format when I go there. So those things are phenomenal in terms of maintaining election integrity, making it easy to vote, hard to chieve, and reportable.
Immediately, Salnuso with Consumers Defense, my guest, we're going to come back and talk about the state of Florida and the results of the election. Is there going to be any change in how the Senate and the House function and its impact on even the governor? That next on the Morning Show with Preston Scott. Back with Sal Nuso of Consumers Defense, and the election has happened, nothing surprising in Florida. I mean, we can broaden go a little
national later. But the House, in the Senate, there was a big, strong effort by Democrats to try to take back the House, or at least diminished They weren't gonna take it back, and they weren't taking back the Senate, but it actually got worse for Democrats. Hashtag take back Florida.
Yeah, it was the mantra of Nikki Freed and the Florida Democrats. They even spent a ton of money on a nice new logo with a panther, which everybody pointed out is an endangered species in the state.
So the irony of yeah, boil, thank you for that, Nikki, well done. Yeah, great job.
So yeah, on the Florida House, there was one flip of an R seat to a D and that was Carolina Amisty lost her reelection bid. It was a true swing district. It had gone for Biden in twenty twenty. I don't know if it went for Trump this time, but it did flip. She had some or has some legal issues as well, so there's some things there. But all of the other swing districts that could have been competitive did go to ours. And the Republicans did flip
a couple. They flipped HD ninety three, which is down in the central South Florida area, and they flipped BACKHD thirty five, which was a R seat. Then they had a special election. It went to the d's in a candidate Erica Booth brought it back to the r. So, on the House side, you have a House majority for the Republicans at eighty five, which is a super majority. The supermajority numbers eighty one, I believe, And on the
Senate side, basically everything is the same. Corey Simon won his re election, yeah, which I will admit surprised me at how wide the margin was because the Trial bar and other groups really poured a lot of money into the Darryl Parks campaign trying to flip that one back,
so to speak. So the Republican majority and the Senate twenty eighth which is also a super majority, which has a profound impact on the governor's last two years with respect to policy and his agenda and what he can get done, he.
Can basically sprint to the finish line.
Well, yeah, I mean it's funny because after twenty twenty three, which I often refer to as the State legislative session of the century, the number and transformational way of conservatism, you know, kind of pushing forward in the state I've never seen in another legislative body in my lifetime. After that, there was this question like Okay, what do we do now?
And now it's almost like it's I won't say small ball, but I think you're gonna see a lot of things come up that are gonna be either tweaked to some of those big picture items or smaller marginal things that are gonna have an impact but not be as transformational as something like universal school choice or some of those things.
Salnuso with me. We're going to pick up right there and talk about the amendments and more next on the Morning Show with Preston Scott, and we are back twenty one past the hour with Salnwso of Consumers Defense website Consumers Defense dot com if you want to find out what he's doing there and what they do nationwide the amendments. Yeah, it was interesting to me though, Sal, because great three
and four. We are defeated, but we still had fifty seven percent to think abortion ought to be without restriction and fifty five percent think you out of SMA well on the abortion one.
I would suggest that a chunk of that plurality majority that voted for Amendment four is a response to what many would consider a little bit of an overreach on the part of the legislature going with a six week ban, and bear in mind also that the vast majority of the electorate do not pay attention to the nuances or the back and forth on the amendment and get their information in ways that lead them in a particular direction.
And so I'm not as surprised on that, because we've even said in prior months that the amendment itself was a bit of a response to the legislature going from fifteen weeks to six weeks in the twenty twenty four legislative session.
Do you think this comes back to hurt the four male justices that voted to put it on the ballot, because I'm going to remember them. No, I don't think so.
I think if it were to have had an impact on Supreme Court justices, we would have seen more of a negative vote for Renata Francis and Meredith Sasso, who were up for retention.
I don't see much of a because you don't think people would know that they voted to keep it off the ballot. Nope, not at all. No.
I think that's a that's an inside baseball thing that by the time they're up for well, this umpire is going to remember and not enough umpires like you or out there to remember that. But I do not anticipate any blowback.
What do you think the lasting legacy of this these? Are these two amendments going to come back? I don't know. I'm not sure.
On four, I think there may be another push for three at some point.
Do you think they'll figure out what doomed them? I don't know.
It's a good question. Yeah, it's a good question. But I think there are a couple of lessons on three and four. And it's funny that there were six amendments here and we've only you know, all of the oxygen is on those. But one lesson in particular that I think other states should pay attention to is the Florida governor Ron de Santis took on both of these amendments and fought them incredibly hard, and it did not hurt
the cause. They tried, the left tried to pin it on you know, this tyrant of a governor is using whatever to do. And Trump won Florida by one point four one point five million votes, and he carried Miami Dade County, which is the first time since nineteen eighty eight that a presidential candidate on the Republican side has done that. Rick Scott trounced his opponent. I can't even
remember her name anymore. And so that's one lesson that you can be aggressive and stand on prince and not have it hurt you, even when you know the left is leveraging all of their apparatus and the media and what not to try and tar and feather you.
That's one should the constitutional amendment process. I know we've tried to raise the threshold the sixty six percent. I would argue that you could, you should make the argument for seventy five percent, because that's what the federal government does with the US Constitution.
I'm with you, and as a federalist, I would not be in favor of a national standard for that. But I do agree that amending your state's governing document should be the hardest thing that is done in a you know, in kind of state government and state operations. And I think these two amendments show how important it is to make certain that amending your state constitution is something requiring more than a simple majority. I mean, even the founders
recognize that. I think they said majority rule is mob rule because all it takes is fifty percent plus one person. So the governing document for a state should not be the place to debate policy. When I go into the voting booth, the benchmark for voting yes on any constitutional amendment is in my head. I asked the question, is this something the legislature can do? If it is, I vote no, even if I like what the result would be, I.
Would argue that moving forward, we need to try it. And I would argue that we need to find whoever was behind the messaging on No On three and No On four and hire them to do a two year campaign educating people on the benefits to both sides of the aisle of protecting the constitution of the state. I'm absolutely with you on that. All right, more with Sal News. So will we come back a little more on the governor plus the winners and losers of this particular election
here in Florida. That's next, and we're back thirty five past the hour. Salnuzo, Consumers Defense, my guests. We're talking about the election the aftermath, and we're focused mostly on Florida here because that's where we live, right And for those of you, come on, admit it, you want to live here? You do you want to be in Florida eight hundred and fifty move here a day, So yeah, you know, it just is Anyway, the governor, what do you think is he is he heading to the cabinet?
Is he gonna take a post?
I mean, this is the fun prognostic cation, prediction projection kind of environment that we're going to be in for a couple of months. Now, this is this is fun. So the governor, he's got two years left and then he turns out and he is forty four or forty three.
I believe he's a kid. He is.
I mean, he's younger than me. This is the first you know, I'm like, I'm officially an old guy. He is four years older than my oldest son, for God's sake. So he's got a long time in public life potential if he wants it, if he wants it. So I think there is a definitely a better than average chance that he is likely considered for a cabinet post of some sort. Whether or not he takes it is a strategic and family decision.
That I you know, have co clue on. Yeah, but we can guess on it. Sure. So if you were going to wait it, one side heavier than the other, serve out his two years and then consider a post or if a post comes, now jump on it.
You know, I hadn't even thought of that possible permutation of it, but that's an even better option. He would turn out in January of twenty twenty seven, so that would give about one year maybe a little less between then and the Iowa Caucuses for twenty twenty eight, which I know it's too soon to start talking about, but if you think about he likely retains some presidential ambitions and he is still the governor of the third larger state, arguably the most prominent governor in the country.
And wouldn't disagree with any of that. So but does that no pun intended, does that trump the cachet that JD. Vance has earned in his short time of being brilliant on the talk circuit and being in the role of vice president.
Gosh, we used to say four years is a lifetime in politics. Now it's like six months is a lifetime in politics.
I have no clue.
I don't think a lot of this is going to depend on how prominent a role Vance plays in the administration.
To say, if you're Trump, what do you think he does with him. I think he I think he would be smart to put him front and center some big time stuff.
I would. I mean, I am a Vance convert. When when Trump first selected him, I thought it was a less than stellar choice. Now, in full disclosure, I have known and been acquainted with JD for a number of years, and so I thought it was he could have done better.
I became sold on JD. Vance not only is the vice presidential candidate, but as someone who could be a very transformational vice president around the debate time when he just laid out Tim Waltz and then he went further and said, put me on every media outlet, no matter how Pilgrim and Unholy Lands, and he laid waste to every single one of them. So I would put him
as front and center as possible. But back to the governor, I think if he's going to want to retain some public persona, and I said this last month when we were on I would say the only cabinet positions likely that he would really seriously consider would be either Attorney
General or Secretary of Homeland Security. I think those are the two prominent ones that would fit in his wheelhouse in a way that you know, yeah, I mentioned Secretary of Commerce, but you know that doesn't give you the kind of visibility day to day that the others do that I think he would want to maintain a head of twenty twenty eight.
If there was one post I would pick, it would be Attorney General. But that's just me. I just think he's eminently equipped to dismantle and clean that thing up because it desperately needs it. Roker Rubio Marco Ruby.
I actually saw a couple of things out there that he might get some consideration as Secretary of State, which would present a phenomenal domino thing because then DeSantis would have to appoint someone who does he appoint If he appoints someone like potentially Ashley Moody or James Upmeyer, what does that then do for the twenty twenty six races? There Byron Donalds, Byron Donalds potentially, But there's another thing.
Byron really wants to run for governor. Like all of the yes, Senator could change your mind though.
Yes indeed, And there's so much out there that could potentially happen depending on where Trump goes for the cabinet picks that it's gonna be a fun couple of months on.
This forty one past the hour. We got more to come. Who won who lost in the election on Tuesday here in the Florida Sunshine State. We'll talk about it next Preston Show with Morning Scott. What final segment. Here's Salnwzo with me from Consumers Defense. Winners and losers, Winners and losers. Okay.
On the winner side, most people talk about the governor and yeah, of course, James Upmeyer, governor's chief of staff. He literally took those campaigns against the two amendments on his shoulders and back and strategically showed that you can combat the left on their own turf and win. And kudos to him and the team.
If you have the right person speaking.
Yes, absolutely, but part of the strategy is getting the right person having the right message. Yeah, pushing back on the left's narratives in line, and he did that day in day out and won. Secondly, Cordbird, Secretary of State, runs the election system in Florida. Again, gold standard. Kudos to Cord big winner there. Danny Perez, the Speaker, designant
for the House. He has a super majority. There was some talk that if the Democrats were more competitive and flipped a few of those House races he could have lost a super majority. He doesn't. That's a great thing for him in the House. Rick Scott, he in beating Debbie whatever her last name is by as large a margin as he did his name recognition and visibility in
his run to be the next Senate majority leader. Has some just Campy Thoon or Cornyn, which can't be either of them, and they're all They're all three are going to run for it. So evan power, I mean, God blessed the man took up the chair of the RPOF after the god awful scandal that had happened there and not only got it back on right on the right track, but supercharged the RPOF in a way that expanded the playing field and make him chair for life as far
as I'm concerned. Joe Gruder, Senator from down in the Sarasota area. He is a has always been a very early supporter of Donald Trump. At one point he was the only member of the Florida legislature that had endorsed Trump over DeSantis in the primary. His stock is on the rise. I would predict he may get a political appointment in some capacity up in DC and a Democrat to be on the lookout for Senator Jason Pizzo down
in the Miami area. He is a center left, moderate Democrat, a reasonable guy, a wonderful public servant, and if the Dems are gonna get back on track and be a true opposition party, Jason Pizzo is the guy that's gonna do it. They need to shed the consultant class and all of the crazy leftists that are that have taken it over.
Which leads us perfectly to the loser.
To the losers at the top of the list. Nikki Freed, I mean she had the Chucks that she copied off of Kamala, she had the photo wop, she had the hashtags with the four letter words throughout them, which she didn't have. Is any kind of a strategy or effort and just like you know, make Evan power chair for life, making make Nicki free chair for life, and the Republican
Party will be in good shape. Tim Rivers and John Morgan, I mean, they burned tens of millions of dollars on the recreational marijuana Amendment and it basically part of the pun was up in smoke.
And I don't think a lot of people realize that John Morgan was also making a play for his business because the number of lawsuits that were going to come as result of it, and I mean personal injury stuff because of people smoking weed on the roads, it was going to increase, and he was going to have it. He's bankrolled his business forever.
Oh, it was a going to be a huge windfall for any trial attorney in the state. Based on that alone, which brings us to the trial bar. They put a lot of what was left of their reputation on the line and backing Darryl Parks against Corey Simon.
They lost big and I think it's never good to back a liar.
Well that too, but it comes on the heels of them backing the primary opponent to Tom Leak in the Senate and they lost that, And so the trial bar's influence is waned, and I would expect some additional tort reform efforts to come through. And last, but not least well two, I got to Andrew Warren the state attorney race down in the Tampa area. He lost, but Monique war One and then the Lincoln project. The Lincoln products
are exactly may they go away? The grift hope hopefully is up it They just you know, not enough bad can be said about that.
Rick Wilson, where are your friend? I've invited you on the show multiple times.
He hasn't. He hasn't posted much. I don't think he's posted anything in the last couple of days. But the Lincoln project itself has getting drunk. Yeah, the hangovers come in. I do believe they're they were basically getting propped up by Chuck Schumer in a lot of the.
Soros money coming to them.
That's going to dry up, I would imagine, and so hopefully we'll see a quick and a quick end to that.
Thanks so much, always always good to be with you. All right, So news, oh with us forty eight past the hour? Okay, it occurred to me as I talked about this. Some of you may remember on election day we took some phone calls on who people voted for. We're going to vote for the reasoning and all that, and we did have a Kamala voter. And I'm sure it's been rough for him, but that's okay. It'll pass,
it will, It'll get better. It'll be all right. You can thank us later because Trump voters saved the country. Trump voters saved the country on Tuesday. But we got a call from Nelly and I got emails in response to it. But I wanted to talk about it in this segment because we have so many more listeners in Bay County and in the surrounding area in the Central time zone listening now than we did when I was talking about this, and when I mentioned it, Nelly was listening.
I said, Nelly, I got a bunch of people want to know the name of your restaurant. Elly just shared her story. Her story touched a lot of people, and a lot of people listening say we want to support that business. She and her family run a restaurant and it's in Bay County. Who knew, Well, now we know, and so go find Pico's on Back Beach, Pico's, p
I Coo, Pasha Fas on back Beach. That's where you want to go have a meal and tell me you're a listener of the Morning Show with Preston Scott and that we sent you and tip like crazy, order like everything in the world, five bowls of cheese, quaeso and guacamole, and man, but I wanted you to know. Brought to you by Barno Heating and Air. It's the morning show on on WFLA. Not a lot of time to reset. It looks like it will be maybe fifty three Republican senators,
outside chance of fifty four. I'm I'm going to bet it's going to be fifty three, but right now it's at fifty two. Good enough. Trump's electoral win growing. I think when it's all done, he wins Nevada, wins Arizona because right now the margins are large in both states, especially Arizona, and that's another seventeen electoral votes, which puts him at three twelve three twelve over Kamala's Want to
Know What's Wrong with Washington? Ninety two percent voted for Kamala, seven for TRUMPA that's all you need to know about the swamp right there. That's it. Revoke all the security clearances of everybody in the Biden and Obama administrations. Start over, start cleaning the house. You got the mandate, Go do it. We'll talk more about rebuilding and what that looks like tomorrow on the show What's the Beef and more? Can't wait? Have an awesome day,
