Transcript

Wow, I almost feel I'm not ready. It has been a surreal a few hours. Good morning, and welcome to the Tuesday edition of the Morning Show with Preston Scott March twenty sixth, Show fifty one to twenty three. That's Grant Allen. I'm Preston and a Well, I'll get to the big thanks and mentioned it throughout the morning, but boy got quite an event unfolding in Baltimore, and we'll get to that in just a few minutes. Philippians

one twenty nine. For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ, you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake. There are a lot of scriptures that you know, a lot of people will throw out the you know, take up your cross and a daily and of course you know the cross was the instrument in which Jesus died. There are a lot of different applications there, but I think I just want to focus on the simplicity of this, for the sake of Christ, you

not only believe in Him but also suffer for his sake. There's a cost. I think anybody that has ever truly made a commitment for Christ has had a cost assigned to That cost varies for each person, but there's cost. Don't try to avoid it. It's part of the refining process. It's it's part of you know, the world just has its own system, its own way, and we have to we have to try to manage those waters. We have to try to manage to live in this world without being of it.

So it's where we'll start the day. The video is surreal. The Francis Scott Key Bridge I six ninety five, Baltimore, about a mile and a quarter span crossing Baltimore Harbor, collapsed with cars on it after a cargo ship struck the bridge support the entire bridge dropped. Security cameras that are on and in the area have captured what happened. Singapore Flag cargo ship is reported to have caught fire and sunk. The entire crew has been accounted for,

including the captain, but the questions are now beginning. It is a search and rescue. However, this event took place at about one point thirty in the morning, four and a half hours ago, and the water was in the forties and anybody that's not out of the water by now is probably done. So we don't have a lot of information. It is believed that at

least twenty people went into the water that were on the bridge. I can't even get my brain around that, what the suddenness of that moment, But that obviously is a story that we may be jipping, which refers to joining in progress any of the press conferences that happened this morning. As we're able, we're streaming live feeds right now, and so as is appropriate, we will try to bring you as much up to date information on this. They

are listing this as a mass casualty event. The video we have video of the bridge collapsed on our Twitter page X page at TMS Preston Scott just to give you a little concept. You can probably make out the ship in the distance and it seems to be going right into one of the support piers. And you're like, I mean ships pass through here by the hundreds daily.

What in the world, What in the world. And so we're just beginning, but I mean, this is a staggering problem for commerce in that area and for the people in and around that area that use that bridge literally daily, multiple times a day. All right, eleven minutes after the hours morning show. All right, Today's show. Obviously, you know, we have a planned program here and I did not schedule any guests for the show, just so much volume of material. Howard Heisman will join us later in the

show a little money talk segment. But we'll just kind of go with this. There's so many stories that are important. We'll just do our best to manage our way through. At March twenty sixth, eighteen eighty five, Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company, what a name of Rochester, New York begins commercial production a flexible photographic film dry plate? Yes, see Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company. Did you use the dry plates in order to what are

you suggesting? I was there in eighteen eighty five? What was the tactics? What was the tactic? Was it like the old photograph style where you had to like, you know, dry the the kind of things like hanging up on the line or whatever that you see in the movie sometimes, Yeah, I doubt what it was. Yeah, I'm i this was the flexible eighteen eighty five photographic films, So I'm guessing early on, you know tin type there there were there are photos that are found and I think they're called

tin type. But anyway, wasn't there tough to get around, to get your brain around, I get it. You're telling me now for the first time. Yeah, Joe might have been, but uh anyway, Yeah. On this date nineteen fifty three, Jonah Salk, doctor Jonas Salk, announces he successfully tested a vaccine against polio. You know that was back when vaccines were vaccines. Here's what's cool about this story. He was asked whether he would hold a patent on the vaccine. He could have gotten super loaded.

Oh my gosh, quoting well the people, I would say, there is no patent. Could you patent the sun? He was of the belief that it did not belong to him. Yeah, he created it, but it didn't belong to him. It belonged to everybody as the sun did common decency And about that feel like an honor society? How about that? This is not me? Gee, what a imagine living in that time where people actually lived that way and thought that way. That feels like a whole other world.

Right, But that world is dead. I never lived in that world. Absolutely. So there you go a couple of dates in history that actually connects really well. Last night, I want to say thank you to all of you who attended the event, the Orphan Shade meet and greet that we held and Jay and Stacey Sherloa broke down. Just very exciting news. I'll update you all as the week, you know, a little more breathing room and a different show of what's going on in Malawi where we are with the

process. But my thanks to all of you came last night and a special shout out which we will do repeatedly for a while. Hotel Indigo, Jay Green and his team there. Jay just went out of his way to host and welcome us. And what a what a cool hotel. It's right there in the heart of college town and it overlooks those We were on the seventh floor patio that overlooked ok Campbell Stadium and the grounds, and it was just it's beautiful, just beautiful. And of course college town's kind of cool,

you know. So if you have friends coming in town for a game or something, check out Hotel Indigo. It is a very cool place. It has a restaurant open for breakfast and dinner, very good restaurant and just a nice place right in the hub of everything and walking distance to the stadium. It would be like I mean, it's almost like if I were going to a game, I would almost be tempted, living here in Tallahassee to just check into the hotel and make make make a weekend of it and just have

a have a good time walk to and from. That would be fun. Anyway, sixteen minutes after the hour, we're getting going here this morning show with Preston Scott seeing the video. Man, don't ever let my mother in law let's see that video. Oh my goodness, she's a nervous going over a bridge passenger as it is. It's like, sh don't even talk about

this story with her, bless her heart. Oh man, all right, Francis Scott key bridge going over Baltimore Harbor collapsed when a shipping, a cargo ship hit one of the supports and the whole thing dropped in the water and allegedly the boat sank as well. Everyone's rescued from the boat. But man, all right, Tonight is the next drawing of Mega millions estimated one point one billion dollar jackpot. No one won Powerball last night that was at eight

hundred million, and so that's gonna bump up. It's next thing is I think Wednesday? Anyway, I still I still struggle to think about how dramatically a life changes by winning something like that. I think the one that won the big one in California took a while to come out because I think that guy was really thinking through and I guess he was part of a team of people that bought a group he was they were planning. Don't say a word.

It's like, there's no way I'd tell anybody for I don't know how long do you Let's just hypothetically say someone gave you a ticket at Christmas time for one of these things and you win. Let's let's let's just say you win fifty sixty million dollars, so you're gonna net thirty thirty five forty million. I don't even know. I mean, do you do you hope your attorney is trustworthy? Do you do you immediately find a CPA? Do you

immediately go to your banker and say, look, here's the deal. I need to buy a home in a gated community, or I need to buy a home with a moat, or you know what I mean. I mean, I don't. I don't even know. And as much time as I've I've given to this over the years, I still haven't arrived at Okay, what what should you do? We've done even stories about do this, this,

this, this, and this from quote financial advisors. What I know is that oftentimes people that win the million dollar plus lotteries end up penniless. Again, I'm interested in that. My lottery dream Home, I think, is the show on HGTV. The host, really talented guy who's just gone off the boat, strange in his you know, gayness, but I just I mean he was obviously when he started on HGTV, David Bromstead, he was. He's very talented designer, really gifted artist, and just a really

likable guy. I mean, he just he just was. And then he got famous and he tatted himself up from top to bottom and now I know who you're talking about. I hadn't picture who the guy was and just flamed out in a major way. It's like it got really strange. Oh my gosh, dude. But I respect the people that win these prizes and they they said, you know, I want to find a home for three hundred thousand dollars, four hundred thousand dollars, and they're like, you're they're very

clearly putting money away and it's like, okay, you go. Maybe people are learning how to manage this. I'm just saying they're they're big. They're big money. Mega Millions is tonight, and then the next Powerball is going to be a thing too, So you know, whatever, you if you play those things, you know, obviously be smart, don't don't gamble the bread money. But twenty seven after the hour, we're gonna get to the big stories, and that may take a minute. It's the Morning Show with

Preston Scott. All right, thirty six minutes after the hour of the Morning Show, Big Stories in the press Box, brought to you by Restore Carpet Care and Tile. The big story happened at about one point thirty in the morning. The Francis Scott Key Bridge along Eye six ninety five and Maryland collapsed following a ship strike. A a cargo ship hit one of the main supports.

Right now, at least two have been rescued, seven or being searched for, But they don't have any kind of exact count of their search and rescue efforts what they're trying to go for because there are cars submerged, whether people got out of the water, they're just a lot of things they do not know. The ship did not catch fire and sink. The ship is still floating, the crew is accounted for, And right now there is a press conference going on in Baltimore. I believe it's the chief of the fire

department taking questions right now. We'll join it live. I have that information. With regard to the investigation, I would refer that to law enforcement. My focus since this morning has been that rescue operation. Well, so far, there's been no indication to any kind of like an emergency dispatch came from that ship for forty I have no information about that. Man. Have you been they able to talk to the pilot, the American pilot on the holland

of Bridge, the pilot on the vessel. We have not talked to the pilot on the vessel, the rescue personnel, the rescue operation. We have not interacted over here. Can you tell us about these big water and I don't have age on condition? Sorry again, I'm sorry. Update on the condition as well when you yeah, I don't have age and gender on either. One patient refuged service right. Really, they weren't injured. The second patient, however, was seriously injured and is at an Area Trauma Center.

Are you including that on the seven at least seven people? We don't know yet if they're part of that seven. The patient is injured severely enough that we've not been able to debrief that patient. That's seventh number doesn't come from being witnessing. Carge called down, Where did that number come from? Or is that just from the sonar hits you got? No, that was the

initial information that we got as we were arriving on the scene. That number, and that number again, as I said earlier, has fluctuated right that, that seven has been a consistent number. How many agencies are here assisting

right now? He had dozens. I mean locally, you know far to Farmer wise, Baltimore Counties here, Howard Counties here, Harford was here, PG was here, Anna Arundel for Baltimore City and a lot of those agencies are here by virtue of the fact that they may have specialized equipment that we

need during an incident like this. As Chief James Wallace of the Baltimore City Fire Department and giving a press briefing right now, about a mile and a quarter long bridge, one of the longer span bridges out there, Trust style collapsed, the entire thing went in the water. There's video of the event ship struck it. The questions are just beginning. You know, how in the world when they deal with cargo ships going I mean cargo ships go through

there all the time, and how can this happen? How does a ship miss its lane by that much? And so, you know, a lot of people are jumping to a lot of conclusions on you know, why it happened, how it happened, It just for right now it happened, and so thoughts and prayers obviously with the families, the victims of this, the first responders that are out there responding to this. It is a story that

we will, needless to say, be following this morning. Will update you as we know, but as we know details right now, they're fixing on a number of approximately seven. Originally it was twenty seven. Is about the number that he's as he's just mentioned, has been constant. Two people have been have been rescued, one literally left the scene after being looked at,

no treatment, the other in serious condition. But there are cars, sonar has located, cars submerged, and one can only assume that there are going to likely be victims inside those cars at this point. This happened hours ago. Back with more of the Morning Show with Preston Scott The Morning Show with Preston Scott on News Radio one hundred point seven WFLA video of the bridge collapse is on the Twitter page X page at TMS Preston Scott. Sunlight's coming up.

And I mean this is a main thoroughfare over the harbor, Baltimore Harbor. That bridge which is literally a few hundred yards from where Francis Scott key, which is why the bridge is named after him and the national anthem. That of course, is now the lead story today. There are other stories that I think we've got to mention. Florida Governor Rohn DeSantis did sign the

bill yesterday, and here's where HB three ended up. It bars minors under fourteen, so thirteen and under from creating social media accounts that employ employee what they call addictive features and data collection software. It allows for fourteen and fifteen year olds to create accounts with parnal consent. Parents are just going to sign off on it, and I mean it's just parents, just be parents.

The bill requires adequate age verification for Internet sites that contain obscene or harmful content unsuitable for minors. Purpose of the legislation is meant to target platforms that use features with content catered to individuals based on algorithms that analyze user information. They describe addictive features as infinite scrolling, auto play, and live streaming. The bill does not target platforms that are simply used for one function, such as

emailing and texting. So that bill is signed and it goes into effect January one next year, so it'll be interesting to see how this unfolds. The bill requires a lot of commercial apps and websites to verify user ages, which is going to create some privacy issues. We'll see where it goes. Three members of the New York State Supreme Court. And understand, the Supreme Court

system in New York is just weird. They basically said to Judge Argan Ergogan or whatever his name is, he's the evil lord of law in New York. Yeah, you're an idiot. That's basically what they said. So they reduced the bond down to one hundred and seventy five million. Trump said he'll be able to post that. He has ten days to do it, and he has until September of this year to get his appeal process done. I would say that most legal analysts believe this whole thing is going to get tossed.

There are no victims except Trump and his family and his business associates. And then, lastly, the other big story that really bears repeating, it's from the Federalist six secretaries of state will not explain, will not release information about a quote coordinated twenty twenty four election plan. These are the secretary of states that ironically are Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and

Georgia. The Michigan Secretary of State Joscelyn Benson. One of the things we saw in twenty twenty was that, particularly in battleground states, we were all battling a common adversary, a really nationally coordinated effort to undermine the will of the people. Sweet God, Preston Scott, this is the way on News Radio one hundred point sevenf LA. All right, we've got a lot of

different things here. And for those of you local positive development, we mentioned yesterday that there is a meeting tonight in Leon County school Board and the request was for parents, grandparents, concerned people to come out and address the the

decisions by the board as it relates to field trips and so forth. It was pointed out that Doe left it open ended so that individual school districts can nail down specifics on policies, because there are field trips which take place where the kids in essence go to planetariums and facilities where they all literally just bunk in a giant, big room, sleeping bags, rolled out, cots,

et cetera. And they're all just in a big room. And so that is the thought behind why the Department of Education in the state of Florida was a little ambiguous in this. And so the question that was being raised is and suggested to be asked if the school board is will overnight room assignments be based on biological sex or you know, self determined gender identity. And we

got an update that at the review meeting yesterday afternoon. The Superintendent Rocky Hannah stated that boys would not be in the same hotel room with girls, that it would be biologically based and be spelled out clearly. They are going to be having a workshop in April to craft a field trip policy. First, how ridiculous of a world are we in now? But the ask is please come tonight, but just encourage. They seem to be leaning in the right

direction. The superintendent is going the right direction, identifying biological boys and girls differently as it relates to hotel rooms and so forth. The States already addressed the issue of locker rooms and restrooms and so for that issue settled. So the ask here by moms for liberty is that if you do go, please go, But if you do go, be be encouraging, be polite, don't be combative and confrontive. Common sense seems to be prevailing, and I'm

noticing a shift. Maybe it's the lawsuits by the group against the n C two A. Maybe it's slowly starting to see stories of professional golf tours in Australia saying yeah, we're done with this. There's an old expression about the turning of the worm. The worm is a period to turn. This This is this is common sense one oh one, classic case of you just have to say no now again. Competition. Don't let your daughters compete if there

is a boy on the other team. We're not talking about coed leagues and little fun stuff that the city does or the Park and w Rec Department wherever you live. Does That's not what we're talking about. I coached a flag football team that was co ed. It was awesome, it was fun. That's what it was meant to be. Fun, not competitive boys boys girls against girls. That's not what we're talking about. We have to protect girl sports and the best way to do it parents is to make sure your daughters

are not ever competing against a boy pretending to be a girl. So that's a win. So I'm passing along the word the request if you go, and again the request is to go. It's important to show school board members because not all of them get it. Some do. There are community standards. Let them be known. Come back with the second hour of the morning. Child christ Scott, I am watching another video of what happened. If

you're just joining us, let me reset. Francis Scott. Key Bridge along I six ninety five going over Baltimore Harbor was hit by a cargo ship. One of the main support structures and the entire bridge collapsed. Two people have been rescued, at least seven are missing, maybe more. There are unconfirmed reports that there were a couple of workers on the bridge. It happened at one point thirty one in the morning. The ship is right now, literally

stopped right on the support structure. It hit. Don't know if it's taking on water. There was a report that had caught fire and sunk. It did not, it is, it has not, But Grant, I just saw a video view that shows ten fifteen seconds prior. Are you looking at it? It's right, It's yeah, it's on right now. I'll be okay. It appears and it could be it could be a malfunction in the equipment, the rudder system, the steering system could have malfunctioned. It looks

almost as if it is. It steered itself right into the into the support of the bridge. It it it turned. I'm watching the video of it and the boat turned. Now they're going to have some kind of telemetry probably on board this ship that's going to show, but that that video angle is just I mean, it sterilizes the event to a certain extent because you don't see cars, you don't see it's at night. The weather was perfect,

it's not a weather related thing. That's not a fog related thing. Visibility out ten miles, clear skies, three mile an hour winds, no heavy chop in the water, I mean it was It's a perfect night for sailing and for this cargo ship, which is massively loaded. But as you look at the video, it looks like it's steering toward the opening and then it all of us. Its direction is towards the opening under the bridge, and then it veers directly into the pylon. So that's gonna that video is going

to be problematic. At the same time very helpful to investigators. Dozens of agencies, local, state, national, art on the scene, and again it is I don't know that it's a search and rescue at this point. I think it's it's likely a search a recovery mission because anyone that has not made it out of the water and has been in the water, they've been in forty degree forty plus degree water since one thirty ish in the morning. And yeah, I mean, there's always the possibility of a miracle. But

I mean, I just I can't get past this. As I'm looking at this video, the boat looks like it's steering directly into the pylon, the support structure of the bridge. But a one and a quarter mile bridge just dropped into the water. Friends, So that that is the story we are following and as the or our press conference updates, we'll see what we can do to join them in progress. We caught one at the bottom of the last hour. There are other things in the news. We will talk about

those other things. Stay with us. Ten past the hour. Welcome to the Morning Show with Preston Scott. All right, not to belabor this, but Grant's just seeing the video I've been looking at. I mean, doesn't it look like either A it was directly steered into that thing or B the worst timing in the world for the steering system to break, and it directed

the ship directly into the support of the bridge. Because it's angling towards the opening of the proper span where the ships travel, and then all of a sudden it turns now. It's not beyond the possibility of a steering system break, a hydraulic gives out, and the rudder's just not moving. Obviously, I've never piloted a vessel like that in my life. Perhaps someone listening has been a container ship captain. But anyway, everyone on board the ship is

fine. That's a big ship. It's a huge ship, and it's loaded with cargo. I can't get past this video that I'm looking at right now that's showing this ship heading towards a safe passage and then suddenly not. I'm color me skeptical that. I mean, this was either a horrible act. I can't believe a captain is that bad. So it's either something catastrophic happened mechanically to that ship or something intentional happen. Those are your two choices to

me. But we're hours away from this thing having happened. The story I was going to talk about in this segment requires more time than we have right now. It's an interesting pull from you GOV that asked Americans about the possibility of another war, the role that other countries might play, the role they themselves might play, how the US should respond under a hypothetical nuclear attack abroad and at home. What's interesting is that a majority of Americans think there will

be another world war in the next five to ten years. Most do not think they would volunteer to serve in military roles or non combatant roles if the US were involved. And that's just scratching the surface. I've got this broken down here and we'll carry it over into the next segment. If you look at how likely do you think another world war is within the next five to ten years. US adult citizens sixty one percent think very likely or somewhat likely.

Broken down Democrats think by a margin of fifty five percent of them believe somewhat or very likely independence, fifty six somewhat or very likely. Republicans seventy two percent Sorry. Republicans have more of a not sure in the in their thought process. Thirty two percent believe that it's very likely if another world war broke out. Seventy seven percent Americans believe US would be involved, six percent

say the US would not be eighteen percent unsure. Seventy two percent believe that if another war were to break out, Russia would be involved and would be on a side opposite of the US. Sixty nine percent believe it was China. Countries that are most likely to to say that most Americans are likely to say would be involved in a hypothetical global conflict that would side with the United States, United Kingdom sixty seven percent Ukraine. They think the Ukrainians would fight

alongside of US in a global conflict. How they get everything from US and we got nothing. Israel at fifty eight percent as well. The country's listed is the most likely to be our allies the UK number one, Ukraine, Israel tied at number two, France, Germany, Australia, South Korea, Poland, Japan and the Philippines and maybe maybe maybe India depends. Talk more about this second seventeen after the hour Morning Show with Preston Scott, take a

few minutes finish up. That's polling information here. Which side do Americans think would win in the event of another World War? Fifty three percent Western nations and their allies. If it's Russia, Russia gets eleven percent. If it's China, forty eight percent think Western nation and its allies, Eleven percent think chal China its allies. If it's China and Russia, Western nations and their

allies would win. Forty five percent think so. That's the least confident is if China and Russia were to combine their forces if a war would break out. Involved in the US, six percent of Americans say they would volunteer for military service, nine say they would not, but would serve if called up. Thirteen percent say they would not volunteer and would refuse to serve if called up. Sixty percent say they don't believe the armed forces would want them to

serve due to age or disability. If the US were under threat of imminent invasion, percentage of people who would volunteer goes to sixteen percent. Forty seven percent say that even in this case, they don't believe armed forces would want them to serve due to age or disability. Yeah, for find me up

kens more open to the idea of serving in non combat roles. Nineteen percent say they would volunteer for this type of role, twelve percent would not, but would serve called twenty six percent if we were under imminent threat of invasion, would volunteer for non combat service. Forty two percent say government wouldn't want them because of age or disability. Are you kidding me to volunteer for non

combat roles? Oh? My gosh. Nuclear weapons. Sixty eight percent say it's likely a future world war would involve use of nukes, sixty four percent of Democrats, seventy eight percent of Republicans. I mean, that's that's a pretty high number. And then it breaks down from there. Would you support the use of nuclear weapons tactical nuclear weapons in this case, this case, this case, let me tell you something. If nukes get used anywhere in

this world against any group. You better get your your your your masks, your hazmat suits. You know I've got something hold on here. Just say something interesting, something interesting. I don't know what are you doing. He said something about a mask, and he's pulling a frame off the wall. Okay, what do you have there? Pulled this off the wall? Yeah, I saved this. Yeah. March seventh, twenty twenty two. I framed this. Vast majority of Americans say ban Russian oil. Nearly eight and

ten support US military response if Putin attacks a NATO country. What would Americans do as the world witnesses what is happening in Ukraine? Americans were asked what they would do if they were in the same position, stay and fight or leave the country. Fifty five percent say they would stay and fight. Thirty eight percent said they would leave the country. Republicans say sixty eight twenty five percent, Independents say fifty seven percent, thirty six percent would stay and fight.

Democrats say forty percent would leave the country forty Add it up, A majority say they would stay in fight, thirty eight percent would say they'd leave the country, and out of that thirty eight percent, the majority of them are Democrats. What's the old thing about the person in the foxhole next to you? All I know is I hope it's not a Democrat because they're leaving. They're skeedaddling. All right, we're gonna update things in Baltimore next Preston

Scott. Hello, Hello, anybody? How Hi? Fly on News Radio one hundred point seven double UFLA. All right, thirty six past the hour. The Big Stories in the press Box, brought to you by Restore, carpent Care and Tyle. Another idea being advance that is partially supported by the video that we've seen. Cargo's ship hit one of the supports of the Francis Scott Key Bridge along I six ninety five in Maryland. It spans Baltimore Harbor. It runs about a mile and a quarter in length over the water,

and it is gone. Vehicles were on the bridge when it fell. At least seven people are missing. Two have been rescued. The crew is intact on the ship, as is the ship for now. Don't know if it's taking on water or not. It is basically in place with part of the bridge structure on it. One of the thoughts is that you can see the lights flash off and on a couple of times on the ship as it approaches the opening of the bridge. There is video of the of the accident.

What we're calling an accident, don't know, but it has been theorized by a few people via email that the ship lost power and that by the time it regained powers too late, that the currents inside the harbor pushed the ship into the support structure of the bridge. We'll have to see. It's a Singapore flagged ship, it's a cargo ship. I've heard in some of the press conference briefings they're talking as if the captain is an American. Twenty on

board the ship, the crew of twenty. There were early reports that the ship sank after it caught fire. That is not true. But this is a catastrophe, you know, set aside the obvious traffic disruptions, and this is no oh, we'll just fix this and get it back running. This is a total reconstruction of a bridge that's going to have to happen. We're talking months, if not years. I can't imagine the disruption that would cause. I mean, I think of any number of bridges that I'm aware of,

you know, most notably the Tampa area. Tampa's had its share of I think forty years ago there was a problem with a bridge there. But I think of the that main bridge, and there are a couple of bridges in the Tampa Clearwater Saint Pete area. Think of Jacksonville, you know. Yeah, they've got the Beltway around Jacksonville. I think it's two ninety five. It goes over the Saint John's River multiple times on different sides of town. And that's a big river. That's no small bridge. Yeah, yeah,

but just imagine for a second. Let's set aside any casualties that we're dealing with here, because there are cars underwater. Can you imagine the disruption to the community. I mean commerce, just regular people getting to work is slowed, let alone the shipping that travels over yeah that bridge, right, I mean just regular chuds. Jacksonville's a hub. Just go into work. But as you watch this time stamped video, the actual hit of the thing

happens at one twenty eight, one nine in the morning. And is that a usual thing? Shipping container shipping, cargo ships just coming in at all? I think this one was leaving. Yeah, really, yeah, I mean you look at the lights in the background of this video, and that would tell you that that's the harbor back in there, that's where the ship's dock and and so it was likely heading out to sea. But as you look at this video the ship, the lights go on and off. I

don't necessarily, you know. I mean, it's one thirty in the morning. Now they're popping back on and then they're popping back off. We'll find out forty minutes after the hour. There's more in the Big Stories in the press Box. We'll get to those huns the Morning Show with Preston Scott. I can only hope that if you are driving in an area where you cross a bridge over water, that you got one of those devices that can cut

your seat belt and can break your window. That's your only chance. I just dude, I am immediately thinking about the what those people that are missing, likely trapped in their cars, what their thoughts were the moment it happened. God be with them. Other big stories in the press Box. This comes from the Federalist. Several secretaries of state and key battleground states are not discussing or disclosing publicly what their parent plans are. For a quote coordinated effort

to fight a common adversary. What the heck does that mean they're doing?

Michigan Secretary of State Joscelyn Benson recently revealed what she described as a mass collaboration between six battleground states, quoting one of the things we saw in twenty twenty was that, particularly in battleground states, we were all battling a common adversary, a really nationally coordinated effort to undermine the will of the people, both before, during, and after election day, and we learned to semi coordinate with each other. In twenty Katie Hobbs and I, she was the Secretary

of Arizona Secretary of State for Arizona at the time. She and I were friends, would talk regularly, but there was no really, there was no really no way for us to consistently as a team, the six of us and those six battleground states, to constantly compare notes and also say, Okay, how are we going to respond to this nationally coordinated effort with a coordinated response. So now we have that, we actually spent twenty twenty two working

to build a team in these six states. W now that I think requires a federal response. The House needs to be calling all of them, the House Oversight Committee and say what are you doing? What do you mean coordinating? Many of us would say they already did. They coordinated in twenty twenty. And is it an interesting how they almost give now credence to the story that they stopped counting at the same time in some of these states. Just in and it's real creepy. And oh, by the way, she looks

like a crazy woman. Governor de Santas science of legislation barring minors under fourteen from creating social media accounts fourteen and fifteen year olds must have printal approval. And Donald Trump gets a win. He had his bond reduced to one seventy five by the New York State Supreme Court. That's a slap in the face to Letitia James. She was ready to try to start the process of seizing

his buildings. Nope, he said he's going to be able to post that within the ten days, and then he has until September to get the appeals process done. I think that's a little ambitious, knowing the way court systems work and now the efforts to try to stall probably, but I'm telling you he's going to get exonerated. And this is all said and done in this New York thing, I have no doubt in my mind he committed no crimes.

They fabricated everything. There are no victims. Forty six minutes after the hour, Preston Scott mother no you wear eth her Dree on news Radio one hundred point seven double USLA manly minute moments away. And one of my books is just tearing away from the binder. I mean, this is a nice book. What the heck, it's just and so it's all it's all catawan. It's just like, come on now, that's blamee Okay. I look after last night, I've really got to keep perspective because complaining about this book

binding isn't just shouldn't be on my radar. For those of you that attended last night, thank you. We had the meet and greet with Jane Stacy Sherlow with Orphan Shade at the Hotel Indigo, Jay Green and the team there. What great hosts. They had some nice little or Dervs brownies. I didn't eat one because if I'd eaten one, I'd have taken the entire thing. Massive huge chocolate brownies, massive and uh and they put us up on

the seventh floor and the outdoor patio that was overlooking Dope Campbell Stadium. Uh, if you are, if you're looking for a place for your out of town guests to stay, game day weekends, that kind of thing. Hotel Indigo it's a it's literally a quarter mile walk maybe half a mile to Dope

Campbell, but it's right there. I mean, it's right there. And they were just they were awesome, they were so kind, and so it's such a nice hotel and it's right in them, right right where you want to be if you want to have the college game day and no I'm not talking about that, I don't care about them, but if you want that experience, you know, a game weekend type thing, all the stores and little restaurants and eateries and everything, you're right in a hub of college town

and it's kind of cool. So my thanks again to Hotel Indigo. But Jay and Stacey gave an update on what's going on with the Orphan Shade. We'll talk more about that on Friday's program, but it was it was great, great to meet some of you, and a few people got a limited addition first ever morning show with Preston Scott baseball hat. I had a few people actually asked me to autograph them. Why are you laughing? Because it's awesome? Did you do it? Of course I did. There you go.

I was humbled. I said, under the brim. Some of them said under, some said no, on top of the brim, the top brim. And so I was unprepared. As I pulled out my sharpiece, No I didn't. I didn't do it. Ron bird, Oh, I'm so unprepared. As he pulls out the flute. No, I was not prepared, and so we we we did our best. And so but thank you to all of you that that we're not able to come but support Orphan

Shade. It's just it was cool. It was very cool. And like I said, I'm gonna set aside a little time Friday to discuss but first time for Mailely minute mail by birth man by choice. Let's review. These are virtues to teach your son. Dinner table, napkin on the lap, silverware if it's a plot provided outside to in eating food, raise the food to the mouth, eat over the plate and chew with my mouth closed.

At buffets, take the appropriate amount of food. Gauge the number of guests, and make sure you teach your son not to take more than what is appropriate for a first servan, and always help clean up. Thus endeth the lesson. All right, it's third hour of the Morning Show with Brustens Good. We are keeping an eye on the story in Baltimore, That, of course, is the big story. If you have not heard, a cargo ship hit the Francis Scott Key Bridge that runs a long eye six ninety five

and the bridge collapsed in its entirety. At least seven people that they are sort of certain were in. Vehicles are unaccounted for. Vehicles are in the water. Two people have been rescued. One never got hospital medical care. He was fine. He or she was fine. The others in serious critical condition at a local hospital. A lot of questions being asked, a lot

of suppositions, you know, I mean, it's what happens now. You've got video of the event, and I summarized early on that to me, it's either a catastrophic mechanical failure or intentional and I think all total the surface evidence would indicate accidental. It looks like the ship was heading towards it's the proper space in this harbor leaving the docks and you see lights flicker, and yes, there's video of the event, and it looks as though the ship

might have lost power, which is unfathomable. I mean, anyway, so we'll we'll, we'll have to wait and find out. I had said yesterday, I wanted to take you inside the House Oversight Committee and let you listen to some of the things that were said shared last week when Hunter Biden turned down the public hearing that he's so publicly demanded, and I just think it's useful to hear some of what was said. Umm, here's Tony Bobolinski.

Iden gave his transcribed the interview on February twenty eighth, and lied throughout his testimony. Here's just one egregious example of Hunter's perjury. He lied to the committee on important details concerning his money demands and threats to CFC. In text messages on July thirty then thirty first, twenty seventeen. He leverages father's presence next to him in that infamous text to strong on CFC to paying Hunter immediately.

Jim Biden also lied extensively throughout his transcribed interview on February twenty first and perjured himself. An example of that. On page one hundred of his transcript, Jim is asked specifically, do you recall having a meeting with Hunter Biden, Tony Bobolinski, and Joe Biden. Jim's response, absolutely not. The committee was so shocked by his perjury that they asked him the same question multiple

times. Each time he denied meeting with me and Joe Biden. After the committee showed him text messages confirming that I met with Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and Jim Biden at the Beverly Hilton in May twenty seventeen, Jim Biden, with a former US Attorney lawyer sitting next to him, still denied that meeting took place. Hunter Biden, in his own transcribed interview, confirmed that that meeting took place. Hunter confirmed his uncle perjured himself in front of this

committee. I'm simply here to tell the truth to the American people. There you go. When we come back a couple couple longer clips ten minutes after the hour stick around, We're taking you inside the House Oversight Committee. Next on the Morning Show, The Morning Show with Preston Scott on News Radio one, hundred point seven WFLA eleven minutes after the hour. Whether it's in this segment or in the next, you're gonna hear Jason Galanis's name brought up.

He's another Hunter biden former business partner. He's serving time in prison and was testifying and is asked to testify via zoom. You'll hear his voice as well. But now let's turn to not everybody in Michigan's lost ninth Congressional district of Michigan. Representative Lisa McClain speaking in the House Oversch Committee, I want to talk about examples of Biden's influence pedaling scheme. This time it was Romania.

It follows the same general pattern as we have seen with other countries like China, Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Here's the pattern. It's really simple. A corrupt foreign oligarch needs access to the US government. Hunter Biden sells influence to the US government. The oligarchs pay up. So let's just take a deeper dive into this Romanian scheme. Mister Babolinski, who is Gabriel Popovich. Gabriel Povovich is a businessman from Romania, probably worth hundreds of millions of

dollars I'd envisioned. Okay, is it true that Gabriel Popovich faced corruption charges in Romania in twenty fifteen? It is, thank you. And when you were in Europe with the bidens to close on that CEFC deal with the Chinese, you separately negotiated with Popovich to get a seventeenth payment. Is that also correct? I did, okay, but Popovich did not want to pay him. Is that correct? Correct? You're talking about a seventeenth payment that would

go to Rob Walker and then Rob Walker would distribute to Hunter Biden. That is correct? And is it because Hunter Biden had failed in the work he was engaged by Popovich to do, which was to get the corruption charges dismissed by the Romanian authorities. Isn't that correct? Well, it's two things that they had failed to do that, but also that Joe Biden had left the White House at that point. Okay, So there's a dot. So I get sixteen payments while Joe Biden's in the White House, correct, But after

Joe Biden leaves the White House coincidentally, the payment stopped. Correct. Okay. Just want to make sure that we can connect the dots very simply, but obviously wasn't a coincidence. Right, I'm not much more for much for coincidences, which neither are the American people. But mister Babolinski, what do you think Papavich wanted Hunter Biden to do? I don't have to think,

because Gabriel told me personally he expected he didn't want the details. He expected Hunter Biden, Rob Walker, and James Gillier to do whatever was necessary to impact his case in Romania. How do you know that because Gabriel Povich told me that from his mouth. Yes, okay, so there's another dot that we can connect. Would that be a conspiracy theory? That's not a conspiracy theory? Okay, thank you. I would encourage you to interview Gabriel Popovich.

Thank you. Lastly, after claiming he wanted a public hearing, Hunter Biden decided to skip today. Why do you think he skipped the hearing today? Is that a rhetorical or serious Well, I don't think you wanted to sit next to me, because obviously I've emphatically stated he perjured himself in his transcribed interview with the committee, as did his uncle Jim Biden, and for every fact he claims or wants to say I was high on drugs or office

skate. I can show a document, text message of recording that his cross you know, confirmed that he's lying. Well, let's not let the facts get in the way of a good story, right Here are the facts. Highly disappointing that he's not here, though I would agree, I would agree. Here are the facts. Hunter Biden was engaged by a foreign principle, Gabriel Popovitch. It is well known that Hunter Biden met with the Ambassador to

Romania, Hans Klem in November of twenty fifteen. Hunter Biden was not registered under PHARAH. He stopped getting paid as soon as his father leaves office, until you got Popovich to send Hunter Biden one more payment. Seriously, what services was hunter Biden providing to the Romanian oligarchs for millions of dollars? We've yet to hear it. As far as the Committee knows, Hunter Biden was

never registered under the Foreign Agent's Registration Act. If the Department of Justice applied the same standards it did in the Paul Manaford case, Hunter would be in more trouble than he is already in. Mister Chairman, there are real fara issues here that we need to continue to look at. Now we have another country, China, Ukraine and now Romania. Inside the houseover Say Committee continues next on the Morning Show. I'm taking the inside the House Oversight Committee,

and this is questioning by I think it's Representative Nancy Mace. Thank you, mister chairman. On March first, twenty twenty four, Joe Biden stated he did not interact with Hunter or Jim Biden business associates. Mister Chairman, I'd like to ask unanimous consent to enter into a record. In New York Post article, Biden and Sissy did not interact withy with that objection to orders,

We're going to go fast here. I have strictly yes or no questions on that note the New York Post article, Joe Biden also said, read the record of every single witness. So I did. I first read Devin Archer's deposition, and he interacted with Joe Biden. Then I read the transcripts of wob Walker, Eric Sware and George Burgess, Kevin Moores, Tony Boblinsky, and Jason Galanis, and every single one of them interacted with Joe Biden.

And that's just the people we interviewed mister Galanis. My first questions are for you. Did Hunter Biden called Joe Biden with Elam Baderina on the line on May fourth, twenty fourteen, Yes or no? Yes? In that call in Hunter Biden state on this call with Joe Biden that everything is good and we are moving forward. Yes, he did it. Okay, on the same call to Joe Biden in the call with saying okay, then you'd be good to my boy. Yes, he said that as well. Okay.

Didina Baderina agree to put twenty million dollars into one of Hunter Biden's business projects days later after this phone call? Yes? Okay. Did Hunter Biden never take a call from Joe Biden while at the Peninsula Bar in New York? I'm sorry? Did Hunter Biden ever take a call from Joe Biden while at the Peninsula Bar in New York? Yes? He did? Did this during this call in Hunter Biden update Joe Biden on progress and a landing a business

partnership with Harvest Fund Management. Yes, okay. Was Harvest a three hundred billion dollars Chinese financial services company closely tied to the Chinese Communist Party. Yes, okay. It's Hunter Biden involved with its Hunter Biden involved with harvest. Hunter riding and harvest the two ways through BHR, which is a fun Yes or no Hunter Biden involved with harvest Yes or no? Yes okay? As part of the deal. As part of the deal to Hunter Biden, want

the company to reserve a board seat for Joe Biden. Yes, okay? Did Henry Zala Chinese business and want assurances Joe Biden would join the board yes or no? Yes he did okay? Emailska, thank you did Hunter Biden draft and email stating Please also remind Henry Zal of our conversation about a board seat for a certain relation of mine. Devin and I golf with that relation earlier this week and we discussed this very idea again and as always he remains

very very keen on the opportunity. Here is a photo of Joe Biden and Devon Archer and Hunter Biden golfing days before the alleged email draft. Do you believe a certain relation of mine refers to Joe Biden? Think there's any questions based on first had conversations with Devin Archer? Who did you ever did you ever meet with Devin Narcher where Hunter took calls from his father. Yes,

okay. During one of these phone calls, and Hunter Biden tell Joe Biden that he and Henry Zeul needed help getting quote getting across the finish line. Yes, that's correct. Okay, mister Bobolinsky. Do you recall receiving an email that flowed the possibility of giving ten percent ownership of Seno Hawk to Joe

Biden through Hunter Biden? Yes, okay. My questions, my last questions are for both of you very quickly, mister Bobolinsky and mister Gallanis you both stated you were told not to use Joe Biden's name in communications, correct, mister Bobolinsky. Mister galanis, yeah, okay. Did Joe Biden participate in phone conversations and meetings with Hunter Biden his business associates in foreign interest? Yes or no, mister Bobolinsky, he clearly did you, okay, mister Gallanis

yes or no? Yes, okay. In Hunter Biden's deposition, he said he did not involve his father in his business. Did Hunter Biden lie under oath? Yes or no, mister Bobolinsky. Yes, mister gallanis that's what he is. Joe Biden lying when he says he did not interact with Hunter Biden Jim Biden. Their business partners are forward interests. Yes or no? Yes, mister Galanis, Yes, all right. In a debate on October twenty second, twenty twenty, Joe Biden denied Hunter Biden made money from China.

Then Hunter Biden, his business associates and foreign interests include money from Chinese businesses, business partners, and or interests. Yes or no, mister Bobelinski, I'm sorry that did the Did Biden we make money from Chinese business interests? Mister Galanis, Then Hunter Biden received money from Chinese business interests? Yes or no? Yes, he was yes, he interest said yes, all right. Joe Biden has repeatedly claimed that he was not involved in in Hunter

Biden, Jim Biden, or any other Biden family business deals. Today, our witnesses have proved otherwise. Today we've established Joe Biden lied about interacting with Hunter Biden's business associates. It is my belief Joe Biden is the closer for Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, and their business associates and foreign interests. Good luck to the left proving otherwise. Thank you, and I go back. Okay, that kind of summarizes things. Boy, did she use her five

minutes devastating testimony. And this is so much more bigger, vast provable than anything ever uttered against Donald Trump. It's not even close. Time for the big stories in the press box. This is the Morning Show with Preston Scott. Money Talk just a few minutes away tomorrow. Heyeseus Rodriguez, former US Border Patrol agent, and we'll boy we southern border. No shortage of things

to talk about. Big stories in the press Box, brought to you by Restore Carpet, cair and Tile. The big story, of course, is what happened at about one nine this morning in Baltimore. The Francis Scott Key Bridge along I six ninety five collapsed when a cargo ship hit one of the main support structures of the bridge and the entire bridge gave way, just dropped in the water. There were cars on that bridge. Two have been rescued, seven are being searched for. The entire crew is accounted for, the

captain accounted for. The ship is stuck. It seems if that ship is unable to sail that in and of itself is a massive task. They're going to have to get that cargo somehow off and onto another ship, and then it's it's about obviously that it's it's recovery. Probably at this point. Of the two that were rescued, one walked away, no medical care needed, the other taken to local hospital in serious condition. We don't have any We

don't know where they were on the span of the bridge. Were they near the edge of it where you know it's it's the closest to the water, or at the height of it. We know nothing right now. We don't know why the ship hit the support. The video is there. The video indicates either a massive malfunction on the ship. It has been offered that perhaps it lost power, regained it lost it again and by the time it regained the because you see the lights on the ship go out on out and then

on, was that enough probably to affect the steering. And then based on the currents that are in there, the water was calm, relatively three mile an hour winds. Visibility was ten miles crystal clear night water, temperature's cold, little chop if any in the water, So the conditions were perfect for sailing. It was either a catastrophic failure of the electrical system, the mechanical systems of the boat, pilot error, which is highly unlikely, or it

was intentional steering into the thing. My guess would be the former. My guess would be an intentional effort. You'd you'd you'd take it out in the middle of the day, you know, I mean, it just it's not adding up for me as I'm just looking and considering everything. So we'll we'll find out. But my hunch is we're going to find some kind of catastrophic failure in the steering the uh, the engine, the electrical that controls the

steering. That's my guess. Uh. Former President Donald Trump, he will post the reduced bond of one seventy five. State Supreme Court of New York lowered that ridiculous four hundred and sixty four million dollar bond down to one seventy five, and they said, yeah, that was that's just absurd. So as a slap in the face to the judge in the case and the Attorney

General, Letitia James, Governor Rohn de Santas. Science legislation barring minors under fourteen from creating social media accounts fourteen and fifteen year old to need a parent's supervision or signature, sorry, permission to do it. Those are your big stories here on The Morning Show with Preston Scott. Money Talk is next The

Morning Show with Preston Scott and time for Money Talk. Investment advisor Howard Heisman with enhanced Financial Services, securities and advisory services offered through NBC Secure Inc. Member Finnran Sibz. NBC Securities Inc. Is a wholly owned subsidiary of RBC Bank USA. The opinions expressed are not those of NBC Securities Inc. Or iHeartMedia. On appropriate matters, seek professional tax and or legal advice, Howard.

A lot of people out there not feeling very secure with their personal economy, their finances. Yeah, that's exactly right, Preston. In a recent survey, only thirty three percent a third of adults in the country said they feel financially secure. And that's the highest level of insecurity since at least twenty twelve, and of course we know the factors inflation. Fifty one percent of

those surveyed said they feel very insecure about the higher cost of living. Forty three percent not feeling good at all about the economy, and unless the third of folks simply are very very concerned, as they should be if they have a lack of savings. Howard inflation leads to it is the elephant in the room, and it has been for several years now. When you look at inflation, what do we know about where it is right now? Well,

it's the most important problem not only for individual consumers. But if we look at the survey just completed this past month of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, which is the group that represents the most small businesses in the country, they cite inflation as their biggest issue, along with still having some issues in some cases in regards to the quality of the labor of the workforce, and

those two are kind of running neck and neck now. But the interesting fact they are the NFIB that Federation of Small Businesses pointed out that their near term outlook for business conditions is the lowest in any survey they've done in about fifty years. You know. And as I think about it, with a small business, they worry about inflation on the front end and the back end, their costs are going up. They in turn have to raise costs on their

consumers. Their clients and that causes them problems on the back end. Yeah, and that explains why their perspective in regards to the economic outlook for the nation but also for their own business enterprises is where it is. What's an ETFE so ATF is an exchange traded fund. It trades on listed exchanges New York or American or Nasdaq exchanges, just as an individual stock or company would, except it's a portfolio that may have a group of stocks or stocks and

bonds. And there's been a real explosion of them here in recent years. Preston. A year ago, there were about twenty four hundred of them. Today they are over twenty eight hundred and forty. It's about four hundred more than a year ago. But just twenty years ago, and they were around

then, just not as popular. There were only one hundred and twenty three exchange traded products, and again that number has gone from one hundred and twenty three to over twenty eight hundred and so it's just another way, frankly, for Wall Street to figure out how to make some more money in for some investors it's their preferred way of investing. Always good Intel, Howard, thanks

for the time. We'll talk again in a couple of weeks. Absolutely having great rest of the day, Preston, Thank you, Sir Howard Eisman with us this morning Money Talk here of the Morning Show with Preston Scott tomorrow. A lot of immigration related news ZUUS Rodriguez, former Customs not Customs Border Patrol agent, will join US Florida. Man Factor fiction boy, our audience. I mean, look, yesterday I got to hang out with some folks that

listen to the program. Is so very kind and I'm humbled by you all. A meet and greet with Jay and Stacey Sherlow with Orphan Ship. Got an update. I'll share some more about that on Friday. But just so kind, all of you, so very kind. Thank you for supporting Orphan Shade and this program. Your kind words were just humbling and we thank you very much. Got this note our audience, man, check this out. Talking about what happened in Baltimore. The ship had a local pilot on board.

The pilots are picked up and dropped off at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. He said, I agree with your assessment of some massive failure at a critical point by state law. This is a quote now by state law, every ship that enters Maryland waters must have a state licensed pilot at the helm steering massive ships from sea into port. That means that every vessel bound for Baltimore must be met by a pilot at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, where she or he takes command of the ship. That is by law.

So it lends more credibility to the very strong likelihood of some catastrophic failure. And I just so like they get to wherever the boundary waters are that's considered Maryland water. You meet them there and basically there's a guy that's like a tugboat. Yeah, ferries him out there, something ferries him out there. All right, I'm your man now here on end, take a seat kind of thing. WHOA, I don't know about these controls. Language is

this? Yeah, No, I'm just kidding, but it's it's obviously it is. We were talking earlier. I mean to think about Jacksonville, Tampa. Any city that has ports and commerce and a major bridge is knocked out. Gone. We're not talking about a little no no, no gone. Yeah, the loss of life. Obviously, there will be loss of life in this, Like if this happened in Savannah, that massive bridge over the river like they've only been over at once. The port is they're inland and

so everything comes right through town, right along the river. If something happened in a town like Savannah, like no commerce could go in and out, that would be like that would be crazy. Yeah, and you just well, I'll just stop there. We'll obviously we'll have updates tomorrow on the show brought to you by Barno Heating and Air. It's the Morning Show one on WFLA. Okay, I'm gonna I shouldn't do this, But that part of me that says you shouldn't do this is overwhelmed by the person that's saying,

oh no, no, no, get this on the record. Oh boy, they're going to rebuild the bridge, and there will be a fight over the name. They will not allow it to be the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Oh I think that's a pretty a pretty good prediction. Yeah, it's it's like, oh really, now that the whole what about the other verses? No, they're not going to do it. They're not going to allow it to be rebuilt with that name on it is it is a tragedy.

There will be loss of life. They do have victims that they have not gotten to. There are also those that have been rescued, just a couple so far. President Donald Trump, he will post the reduced bond of one hundred and seventy five million. The condition is there are a lot of conditions, but one of them is that his appeal process has to be finished by September of this year. Doesn't mean I don't know if that means by September

one or by September thirtieth. But his bond of four sixty four was like laughed at my words, not theirs, by the Appellate Division of the First Judicial Department of the New York State Supreme Court, and they've reduced it to one. Seventy five Secretaries of state in the six quote battleground states are not explaining their coordinated plan for the twenty twenty four election. That's just creepy.

And Florida's governor science legislation barring minors under fourteen from creating social media accounts that takes effect a year from now on January first, back tomorrow. Have a great day, Thanks for listening.
