In a report from Try Hard Guides via the way of Tom Henderson, Sony is apparently hard at work on a “genuine professional controller” for the PlayStation 5, which is interesting at a time when the company is expected to reveal new hardware in the coming weeks. Much like Xbox’s Elite controller, which is marketed for hardcore gamers, the controller is set to include removable analogue sticks, trigger stops, and rear paddles. During a tell-all interview, Bethesda’s Todd Howard has confirmed that the team’s next next game will be Fallout 5. Of course, their next game after Starfield is set to be The Elder Scrolls VI, but with that still in pre-production as most of the main development team works to get Starfield out the door, it’s probable we won’t see anything substantial on players’ return to the wasteland anytime soon. Capcom held their annual showcase this morning and we got a few announcements. Resident Evil Village DLC was unveiled and it's coming on October 28th. Shadows of Rose is the major story expansion, where Ethan’s daughter Rose enters the consciousness of the megamycete to discover the truth about her powers. Xbox held its annual Xbox + Bethesda showcase this morning and it was largely focused on games coming over the next 12 months. We got to see 15 minutes of Starfield gameplay including over 1000 planets that are visible, space fights both in the air and on land and way, way more. Xbox announced last year that it was going to be bringing Xbox Game Pass/Xbox Cloud Gaming to smart TVs without the need for an external device or a console. Today it has made good on that promise by announcing that it is partnering with Samsung to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming (through Xbox Game Pass) to 2022 Samsung TVs. Sony has announced that Horizon Zero Dawn, God Of War and Gran Turismo TV shows are in development. The Horizon TV show will live on Netflix whilst God of War will live on Amazon Prime. A home for the Gran Turismo TV show has not yet been confirmed. Sony also said it has 10 projects currently in development based on PlayStation franchises, which includes the already-announced Last of Us TV show and the Ghost of Tsushima film. PlayStation has announced in its latest earnings report that PlayStation VR2 will have 20+ first party and third party games at launch. So far, we know that Horizon Call of the Mountain will be one of these, but unfortunately don't know a lot else. A Twitter user by the name of Dusk Golem has posted what they claimed were verified screenshots of an in-development Silent Hill game. The shots, which are said to date back to 2020, pictured a handful of environments and some character art and looked fairly convincing. Adding fuel to the fire, the images were swiftly removed and Dusk Golem's Twitter account locked, a move which they claim was handed down by Silent Hill's current IP owner, Konami. Bethesda has announced that both Redfall and Starfield have both been delayed and will now release in the first half of 2023. Warner Bros. Games dropped 14 minutes of brand new Gotham Knights footage overnight, showing off some slick Nightwing and Red Hood gameplay, but more interesting was the reveal that the game will be skipping last generation consoles and release exclusively on PS5, Xbox Series X&S and PC. Xbox and Epic Games have announced a partnership to make Fortnite the first free-to-play title available on browser-enabled devices running Xbox Cloud Gaming. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has officially been announced, with developer Infinity Ward revealing the game's logo on social media.
