From Dublin, the latest from our daily newsletter at podnews.net with CoHost. Spotify's monetisation model for creators, the Spotify Partner Programme, is to expand to a further nine new countries, eight of those in Europe. From April the 29th, eligible audio and video creators in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and New Zealand can enrol, which means more money for existing partners as well.

We're told that eligible creators earn based on how much Spotify Premium members stream their video content in the market where the Spotify Partner Programme is available. So a US creator will now earn from viewers in these additional countries as well. By country population, that grows the total potential audience by 43%, although not all content is equally popular in different countries. YouTube's head of podcasts, Kai Chuck, has left the company after a reorganisation.

A YouTube spokesperson told Tubefilter that to better serve podcasters on YouTube, we're bringing the podcasts partnership team together with the News and Civics partnerships teams. And we're grateful to Kai Chuck for all his contributions over the years. Now, the News and Civics partnerships teams are led by Tim Katz, who wrote a blog post about YouTube podcasts last month.

Stephen Bartlett's Flight Studio, which launched last April, is readying a video podcast hosting company called Flightcast. The developer, who goes under the name Rocks Codes, is looking for beta testers on LinkedIn. Notably, it claims to offer direct video upload to Spotify, which is something, as far as we're aware, unavailable in any other third-party host.

In-person discussion is always a good thing, so Good Tape has launched Off The Record, a community-centred media business that facilitates real-time dialogues between podcast executives, creatives and brands. Podcast seasons don't work, except, writing for PodNews, Podcast Professionals Association member Jason Sircone, shares some reasons why they do. And Osser has launched a purpose-built ad operations platform for podcasting.

The company has been working on this technology for some time, as hinted in its hiring announcement of CRO Adam Gilbert last year. And thank you to Good Tape's Dane Cardiel for becoming our latest personal supporter. Dane's support helps us keep Podnews free for everyone. You can support us at podnews.net slash Patreon.

And that support goes into new things on the website, like, for example, power users of our search engine will notice it works faster now, helping you find news stories, articles and podcasts. The speed increase is thanks to the power of cookies. And as part of that, the cookie section of our privacy policy has been updated.

In People News in the UK, David Prever has been made head of podcasts at Sassy Plus and Radio News Hub, where he'll expand the company's original content portfolio and develop brand-funded podcasts. Sassy Plus will be at the podcast show in London. And in podcast news, surviving Trump with democracy on life support isn't a linear story. It's a political landscape.

The hosts tell us that each episode stands alone, but together they form a strategic map of the forces that they say are threatening American democracy. Other political views are available. For the Love of Rugby has three new presenters for the Guinness Women's Six Nations, and the Stressless Camping RV podcast has hit episode 300. The show has had over half a million downloads, and it's produced to help RVers get more joy out of their RVs. It's hosted by Tony and Peggy Barthel.
