Amazon is now spending the most to advertise in podcasts. Magellan AI released the top podcast advertisers for September, showing that BetterHelp has just retreated to number two. Research from Nielsen in the UK claims podcast listening is twice as popular as other data from Rayjar, UK regulator Ofcom and Edison Research, suggesting 42% of people aged 18
plus are listening to podcasts every week. And that podcast consumption in the country has grown by 43% over the last six months, growth which isn't reflected in other data. Queries that we've made to Nielsen have only been answered by Acast, the company that commissioned the information for its sales team. Barcelona-based podcast hosting company Mumbler has partnered with Spotify through their open access program, so premium content hosted on Mumbler can now be seamlessly listened
to and purchased directly on Spotify. They claim to be the first Spanish company to do so. For podcasters who upload a video version of your podcast to YouTube, PodPage's podcast websites have just rolled out automatic matching for your podcast episodes. Spotify now has six million podcasts, according to the company's investors page. Music library Slipstream has purchased Anthem Production Music Group, which includes Five Alarm Music
and Cavendish Music. The company becomes the largest global independent music licensing company. Audacy has signed with Experian to improve its targeting and personalisation tools. Veritonic has enhanced its Brand Lift tool with additional features. Spotify's R&D department has written about how their machine learning works to analyse podcast audio, video and metadata to identify platform policy violations.
And who has the spookiest voice? The voiceover website Voices is asking you to choose from five spooktacular voices from the netherworld to find the one that gives you the most chills. And in podcast news, Mike Duncan's Revolutions has announced an exclusive multi-year advertising partnership with Libsyn. Circle This has joined the fwd Network. Your Money, Your Wealth has hit episode 500 with a top funniest moments compilation being released.
