From Chicago, the latest from our daily newsletter at podnews.net with CoHost. We start with an exclusive today. Hubbard Radio has announced the launch of the Gamut Podcast Network, a dedicated podcast division for the 102-year-old company. The launch of Gamut is more than a rebrand, it's a pivotal evolution for our company, says Ginny Hubbard, who's CEO of Hubbard Radio. The VP and GM is John Goforth, who joined the company last August.
Another snippet of data from Amplifi Media and Coleman Insights. They've talked to YouTube podcast consumers, and 46% of those people use smart TVs, and another 46% use computers to listen to podcasts. Smartphones remains the top choice at 79%. Well, the state of video podcasting 2025 is on Thursday at 9am on the main keynote stage at Evolutions. That's 24 hours after I'm on stage with the podnews report card.
Linus Media Group, which is on YouTube as Linus Tech Tips, among others, has shared how the content company makes money. Revenue from YouTube is just 11% of total revenue, and of that, 37% comes from a revenue share with YouTube premium subscribers, which operates similarly to Spotify's partner program. Tonight is the Ambies awards ceremony. AdLarge's fwd. Network has acquired the podcast in the Adalyst Media Network. The fwd Network now boasts over 75 shows, elevating female voices, amplifying meaningful conversations, and connecting brands with highly engaged female audiences.
And women-owned businesses need marketing approaches that are designed and built for them, which is why Avant Haus Media has rebranded today to Boss Goddess, a podcast-first agency dedicated to serving women-led initiatives and brands supporting women-focused missions. It's a Monday, so time for some tech stuff. And Dave Jones explained the benefits of live podcasting in a blog post last week.
It uses a mix of the podcast live item tag and signalling over the PodPing notification network. Now, it's worthwhile considering that YouTube can offer live broadcasts, and Spotify Live, formerly Spotify Greenroom, is still technology that could be used for live shows. And the Podnews daily podcast, that's this one, is now celebrating hitting more than 40,000 downloads in one day, which looks brilliant.
But unfortunately, 90% of those downloads are seemingly automated downloads from Android phones, with traffic related to Google News' audio briefings. Well, we're not the only people to see spurious traffic from Google News. Google have told us that they're investigating, but we've heard nothing more. And if they're really investigating, would have thought it would have been helpful to have asked us for log files, which they haven't. But we'll have more on this story later this week.
And in podcast news, are you lying awake at night because your brain is still running through tomorrow's to-do list? And if you thought that Geneva was just watch shops and expensive lingerie stores, well, you'd be true. But also, it's more than that. A book, a place, Geneva, uncovers the stories behind Geneva's most fascinating, yet often overlooked, corners.
For example, Frankenstein was written in Geneva, Lenin plotted revolution in the Old Town, and the comic strip was born in Geneva 200 years ago. It's hosted by journalist Robin Pomeroy. And this podcast is sponsored by co-host. How do you know if your audience is truly engaged? Fatima Zaidi of co-host, James Cridland of pod news, that's me, Sharon Taylor of Triton Digital, and Steve Pratt of the creativity business, we'll all tell you at Podcast Evolutions.
