More podcast awards! From Oslo in Norway, the latest from podnews.net with SoundStack earning more programmatic revenue. The Canadian podcast awards are open for entry. The awards started in 2018 and now have 31 categories. A new podcast awards has launched in the UK. The Political Podcast Awards is open for entry now and will take place on January 29. It's sponsored by Google, which

is curious given it closed its podcast app earlier this year. And in Australia, iHeart and Magellan AI have launched a new industry award which recognises the ad agency which has spent the most money in podcasting ads. Podtrac has announced a predictive promo planner to provide insights for publishers who place ads in other podcasts to promote their shows. It will identify the podcasts which work best for each show. Captivate has relaxed limits on its private podcasts feature.

Now every podcaster can have up to 100 private podcasts and up to 50,000 private subscribers. How big is the global podcast market? Justin Jackson has started a piece of collaborative work to correctly calculate this and would welcome feedback. Next Broadcast Media and AudioStack have announced a partnership to launch the first AI-driven audio production capabilities in the Middle East and North Africa. The tools will enable contextually

relevant audio spots to engage audiences. Edison Research and SiriusXM Media have announced a webinar for the third instalment from the Sports Audio Report. Hubhopper has announced integrations with Headliner's Eddy, allowing easier editing for its podcast hosting customers. And 46% of Germans aged between 18 and 65 regularly listen to audiobooks, radio plays

or podcasts, says new data from Audible. The crime and thriller genre is number one in audiobooks and 32% of Germans choose content to help them fall asleep. In People News, Norma Jean Belenky has left Podbean as part of a number of changes at the company. She was head of events for the company and had worked with them for almost 4.5 years. In Podcast News, food is responsible for 15% of all fossil fuel emissions and that percentage

is growing. In the "Feed", um, feed, a new series is launched today called 'Fuel to Fork' and it explores how we got here. It all started with Peruvian bat poo apparently. Imagine a future without fossil fuels with farmers, leading scientists, food experts and legendary campaigners. In the Podnews Weekly Review, which will be published later today when I get a spare moment, we hear from Oscar Meri from Fountain about a new release of the podcast app and a round up of the week's news.
