8 more languages for Apple Podcasts transcriptions! From Brisbane, the latest from Podnews.net with Soundstack, offering hosting companies more value for your podcasters. Apple Podcasts has expanded its transcripts to now include a further 8 languages – Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian and Dutch. Apple Podcasts can now also detect when more than one language is spoken in an episode.

The company says that more than 80 million episodes have transcripts and creators who prefer to provide their own transcripts can do so through RSS on a supporting podcast host. We've an exclusive for you tomorrow, an interview with Spotify's VP of podcast product Maya Prohovnik in the Podnews Weekly Review. We ask her this question.

Maya Prohovnik

How important is open RSS to Spotify and how will you continue supporting it?

James Cridland

The answer in the Podnews Weekly Review, wherever you get your podcasts. Ausha launched Ausha Intelligence, what it calls the first AI-powered tool designed to generate search-optimized show notes and promotional content. It was first demonstrated at Podcast Movement in Washington DC by me and it offers customizable prompts to match your editorial style.

Airwave Media has launched Airwave History Plus, a collection of 27 top history shows with ad-free episodes, early content and bonus content. Ben Mathis tells us that they found that 85% of listeners who would pay for ad-free content are most interested in bundle content within a category. The Signal Awards published a list of finalists you can vote for the listeners' choice in every category starting today. The website claims there have been 11,369 votes at the time of recording this.

The awards contain a lot of recognizable large podcast companies but it's nice to see small indies also being recognized, for example, Differente Creatives ScienceWise is a finalist in the science category. The winners of the Slushno Awards in Ukraine were also revealed. This year's ceremony not only celebrated the best in podcasting but also highlighted the rapid growth and evolution of the industry and the high demand of audio content due to electricity outages in the country.

Subscription podcast company Podimo has acquired PodAds, one of Denmark's leading podcast agencies and advertising platforms. It's part of a strategy for a hybrid subscription and ad-supported model. Whoopsie! Libsyn Ads has made payments to podcasters twice by mistake, according to an email, users of its AutoAds service will see future payouts reduced to account for this. The bankruptcy proceedings of Kast Media rumble on with at least 18 objections to the bankruptcy plan.

The objections were filed by Arcadian Vanguard LLC, the company behind Jim Cornett's podcasts, while documents filed by Arcadian include a 350-page transcript of a conversation between Kast media's Colin Thompson and some extraordinarily bad-tempered lawyers. Here's one small highlight.

Mr New

You should know, you're the CEO.

Ms Cohen

OK, we're going to stop this now. You're badgering the witness. You're telling him what he should and shouldn't know. He's answered the question already. For you to scold him and tell him what he should and shouldn't know is not productive.

Mr New

Put a good non-speaking objection on the record, Ms. Cohen.

Ms Cohen

My objection is you're badgering the witness.

Mr New

I'm not badgering. I'm not wolverining. I'm not any other rodent-ing Mr. Thompson, put a good non-speaking objection on the record.

Ms Cohen

Objection. Badgering.

Mr New

Badgering isn't even an objection.

James Cridland

Yikes. You can read all 350 pages from a link in our show notes and our newsletter at podnews.net.

Ms Cohen

We were made with Wondercraft.

Mr New

From the court papers.
