Episode description

Last week, I discussed the importance of understanding different personality styles and how they can improve communication and collaboration in the workplace. I also introduced the DISC personality assessment, which divides individuals into four quadrants based on their dominant traits. For today's podcast, we will talk about coaching the dominant team member. There's a reason that the "D" personality type is called the dominant style. They're firm, strong willed, and direct. They are not easily talked out of an idea once they have set their mind into something. They are results oriented. So if you're managing a D style, whether it be your child or staff member, we need to adapt our style in a very agile way to what they need and what's appropriate in that situation. It could be difficult to manage a D style because it's a demanding personality type.
