Episode description
It's Never Too Late to Chase Your Dream w/Dennis Welch
Dennis Welch is a lifelong songwriter and recording artist who is experiencing something of a musical renaissance now in his late 60's.
After recording his 2000 album, Songs From My Window Seat, he continued to write as if he might go into the studio and record again very soon.
But 18 years later, he had a backlog of songs and no new recordings. Then, a miracle happened. Long-time Little River Band guitarist and producer, Rich Herring, heard one of Dennis' songs and offered to produce it for him. That turned into an album that released in 2021, What Love Makes Us Do. That album was on the first Grammy ballot in 5 categories.
In 2023, he and Rich recorded and released If I Live to be a Hundred. It too made onto the first Grammy ballot in 5 categories.
In July of 2025, Dennis will release his latest album, Strong. He'll be touring around the country doing live shows for most of the summer and early fall.
All of this is proof that it's never too late.
