There are much smarter people who know about this stuff but with what we know about how it works - we can devise ways to stop abnormal scar formation. It's still in its infancy of research though. So I am sure there are heaps of experimental treatments available.
What I didnt really say and again dont really know about is the rate or recurrence after you have had a treatment. If you have had treatment for a keloid or a hypertrophic scar there is a possibility that it can occur again. But again not much is known.
