Gender & Media Part 1

In this episode we start to break down the gender role expectations and stereotypes that are created by our society, and then reinforced through media messaging. We discuss our society's expectations of how to "be a man" and "act like a lady", and the kinds of toys, direct messaging, and advertising that speak directly to those roles. We even share our own personal experiences feeling the pressure to conform to these gender expectations, and how it has impacted those around us.
