Wow, it is the end of the week.
It is time for another edition of the Stardom Cittam Show. I'm Marcus Grant, joined by Michael ef Floya, who writes the Start Sit Don Lem you can find an nfl dot Com Flash Starts sit, and Lakwan Jones who just has thoughts and we'd like to hear his thoughts on some of these things. So we're gonna go through these Floryda's. We were starting quarterback as always. There are some names that were used to seeing in the past on this
list that are now back on this list. I'm just trying to say, you have Patrick Mahomes as a start, and that feels wild in twenty twenty four.
Wow, I wrote it this week.
I think this is the first time I've ever written about him as a start, because in the history of Patrick Mahomes, the only time he would be a worthy of coming in this article is you have him as a sit because he was so much start. But we have gone the complete opposite way. But I keep saying that if you have Patrick Mahomes on your roster and you are not playing him in the best matchup for a quarterback, why is he still on your roster. You should trade him or do something else to get that
space available. I also think Matthew Stafford is back in our fantasy lives because let's go the Rams offense is very simple.
If Poka Nakua and Cooper.
Cup and Kiren Williams are healthy, you're gonna get good numbers out of Matthew Stafford. If they're not, you're not gonna get good numbers out of him. Sam Darnold in a great matchup against the Colts and he has been just a really safe floor quarterback. Bo Nicks, I know this is someone that all three of us have talked about this week. He's playing really well, running great matchup, and I'm going back for more with Caleb Williams in a good matchup against the Cardinals that think he could
bounce back. And then I am sitting Jared Goff aka Jared Goof in his first outdoor game which could be reigning against a tough Packers defense, and he does not play well in Lambeau, at least not in the past. I'm sitting Dak Prescott. It's nothing really to do about the matchup. It's more about the Cowboys offense, and Dak
just not being a good fantasy option this year. And then Tua Tungua bai looa against the Bills in eight career games against them, seven touchdown passes, ten interceptions, only twice his top two hundred.
And forty passing yards.
So, like you always say, Marcus Tua is better in like in theory than he is in reality for fantasy.
Yeah, I mean I swhear how I feel definitely this week against Buffalo, I would probably stay away from Tua. We talked earlier in the week about Dak Prescott and what we're doing with him as well.
But look, I want to ask you.
About bo Nicks, because it seems like we are all believers, right, we don't stop moving, you know, don't stop believing all that kind of stuff. I want to believe again this week, right, But it feels like I feel like too many people are on it now, right laqual Like this is gonna that was gonna go sideways because we are all starting to buy into bon Necks.
Can he keep it going against Baltimore?
I think he can.
I mean, I do believe in the theory of too many people on the boat it's gonna sync. But I think this is a matchup where he could surprise a
lot of folks. So, you know, with this Ravens defense, they they're terrible against the pass, and honestly, they have one of the best O lines, Like they're going to be able to protect him and with the low no QB pressure that the Ravens are bringing, I think it's gonna be cool, calm and collected back there and be able to dish it off to multiple you know, passing options. There's not really anybody you can game plan and try
to take out of the game. Because my sleeper this week was Devon Valley, so hopefully, you know, he steps up and bow Knicks goes out there and show up and show out.
Yeah, Devon Valley, which is something like that sounds like a creative player name, but okay, let's go with it. So yeah, I'm you know, I'm I definitely want to keep a close eye on bow Knicks. I don't have him anywhere, so I you know, I'm starting It's not an option for me and any teams, but I've really become interested in kind of watching him develop, I mean, and seeing where.
He goes from from here.
He's not turning the ball over. That's the all you can ask from a rookie.
He's not turning the ball over and he's running the football and he's got four rushing touchdowns. Like I said earlier in the week, Bo Knicks is what we thought Anthony Richardson was going to be this year.
He's running the ball.
He's good enough as he's not great as a passer, but he's good enough as a passer to you know, to get you those fantasy points. And that's really all you can ask for at this point. Floria running backs, your starts and sins.
DeAndre Swift, I know he disappointed last week, but a great bounce back opportunity against the Cardinals, someone that I know you both like as well. Tony Pollard gets so much volume every week, and the matchup against the Patriots is really good.
Kareem Hunt.
Look he's not efficient, but he's getting so much volume and goal line work each week, and the Bucks are a good matchup that he is very much so in play. I have James Connor as a start. The Bears are tough against running backs, but they do allow a lot of big explosive runs, so I think Connor the volume that he gets probably wins out that was originally gonna be Tyrone Tracy, who is trending like he is going to play. If he plays, you start him. Chuba Hubbard
in a great matchup against the Saints. I know he's been bad with Bryce Young, but the matchup is too good. I think to get away from him, and then Chase Brown getting more and more volume each week. A fantastic matchup. He could really have a big day. I spoke about this on yesterday's show. But I'm trying to get away from the Bucks running backs if I can just I do not like the matchup against the Chiefs. I'm gonna get away from Javonte Williams. He flopped against the Panthers
last week. Now he gets the Ravens. I think Nick Chubb is a sit because efficiency hasn't been there yet, and the Chargers are really good against the run. Rico Dawdle just because the Cowboys are not running the ball a whole bunch this year. And then Alexander Madison. He might have volume, but the production the last few weeks continues to go down and down and down.
I want to go back to Kareem Hunt briefly because you mentioned him not being efficient weirdly, he's not getting targets, and that's the thing that he has done well is catch the ball in his career, but just not getting a whole lot of opportunity through the passing game.
And I can't really figure out why.
I don't know that the adding DeAndre Hopkins is gonna help him in that regard. But LaQuan with Truba Hubbard playing really well, good matchup against the Saints, with Jonathan Brooks back at practice this week and on track, if not to play this week maybe in the next week, does Tuba have to really step it up? Is there a danger of him maybe not losing the gig outright, but losing a whole lot opportunity when Brooks is back.
Yeah, this this will be probably like his last opportunity to really like say like this is my backfield based on this matchup. You have the efficiency you know they're allowing the Saints are allowing five point two yards per carry,
that's second most in the league right now. So if he can't find a way to be efficient and be able to be effective in the passing game, They're probably gonna try to sprinkle in Jonathan Brooks to get some spark out of that run game, because honestly, this might be a winnable game for the you know, for the Panthers if that run game can connect with the passing
game as well. So I know they're gonna lean on him a ton, but you really have to like make it a stamp, like, all right, this is my backfield. The rookie's gonna have to wait until next season to start getting sprinkled in.
Yeah, you mentioned Rico dawdle florio in the fact that the Cowboys aren't running the ball a lot.
They just can't run the ball.
I mean, at this point, are we just out on the Cowboys offense?
Is it just CD lamb And that's kind of in it.
Yeah, Like I have Dak Prescotten in two QB leagues, so obviously, like in that format you're kind of handcuffed to him. But even in that format, I look at it every week and I'm like, do I really want.
To start Dak? It's like thirteen fourteen.
Fantasy points right now.
I know the ceiling theoretically could be a lot higher, but it just hasn't been.
I mean, really it could be, but yeah, it's it's been really really frustrating it's just it's so one dimensional. Even within that one dimension, it's one dimensional. It's basically just throw the ball to ceed Lamb. That's how you That's how you move the ball. It's it's I don't know what the opposite of three dimensional chesses. It's like half a dimensional chess or something. It's not even actual chess. That's what That's what the that's what the Cowboys offense is.
Speaking of stickers, yeah, basically.
Tac toe. Maybe, I'm not sure.
Speaking of CD Lamb, let's suck some start sit wide receiver, shall we Florio?
Yeah?
I have Terry McLaurin as a start this week. Not only is he playing well and Jayden Daniel's playing well, but McLaurin has eaten against the Giants in his career and they struggle against out wide wide receivers DJ Moore, who obviously, if you see the name DJ Moore, you're like, oh, yeah, must start. If you just cover the name and looked at the games, you'd probably be like, this guy's a must sit. But I think against the Cardinals is a good chance for him to get right. I think all
three of the Bills wide receivers are in play. I like Khalil Shakir the most because of the matchup, but I think Cooper and Coleman both bring enough upside where you could get them in your lineup. Lad McConkie is eating going off getting a lot of volume, but also he is the fifth most yards against man coverage and the Browns us man at the fourth highest rate. Calvin Ridley's so much volume as of late, and a great matchup against the Patriots. Kind of hoping it's Mason Rudolph
not Will Levis there. And then Cedric Tillman. He is just the new Amari Cooper for this offense, yet has a better quarterback with Jamis Winston there, so I think he is in play. And then Zay Flowers not a must sit, but someone that I'm trying to get away from because the Denver Broncos are really good at shutting down wide receivers.
He could see a lot of Patrick's ertan.
And then I also think you said his teammate Deontay Johnson, who just getting acclimated in the offense. I have Jalen McMillan as a sit because the Chiefs are just an elite defense. Again on both sides of the ball against the run and the pass. Jordan Addison and Roma Dunza for the same reason. They both have good matchups, but they're not getting enough volume. So because of that, I don't think you could trust him even in the.
Matchup about Romo Dunsay LaQuan, I mean, is this just that right now, Caleb just can't support more than one pass catcher on a consistent basis. I mean, that is that kind of where we are.
Yeah, we're asking a lot from a rookie.
I know, Caleb is probably one of those generational talents that we throw out there, and you know, he's able to make magic in the pocket, but more so, like we're asking him to support a veteran wide receiver in King, now, we're asking him to support a guy like DJ Moore that constantly needs to buy him as well to be productive.
And then you know, Rom Maduonze a rookie in himself.
It's just that more so, we just need to give the time for him to be able to be able to function with multiple pass catchers to be fantasy relevant. I think we kind of knew this going into this season with Roe Madonza. He was one of the ones that were in ADP were one of the ones that you were getting later. But I think more so that the talent's there, so you just kind of have to wait and see, and you're honestly just gonna be playing the guessing game. Who's gonna be popping off this week?
And again, this is all information we knew coming into the season.
Florida.
You mentioned the Bill's wide receivers. If you had to pick one, say you're playing a daily fantasy lineup, which one is the one if you had to choose out of the.
Group, I think Shakir because the Dolphins u zone at a very high rate, and Shakir has been their zone beater and he's probably the cheapest of all of them.
He is the.
Safest, I would say.
I think the other two ceilings are higher, but they all again all could eat because josh Allen just has dominated the Dolphins.
In his career.
Yeah, that's gonna be a interesting one to watch too, because the Dolphins need a win, try and just stay in the playoff race a little bit.
The Bills, I mean, in.
Theory, it looks like they have the division locked up now, just the chance for them to just sort of really put some space between themselves and everybody else in the AFC East.
Finally we got to start tight ends. Who's on the list.
This one is purely for me. It's Kyle Pitts. Look I said this on Fantasy Live too. For like two years people were like, stop, you're really telling me to keep starting Kyle Pitts. And now people are like, you're still telling me to start.
Because it's just the exact opposite.
Reason though, like he is falling out, he's broken out. He is a must start tight end. I think Evan Ingram is a must start tight end, even in a tough matchup. No Kirk Brian Thomas Junior up in the air, so a lot of volume gonna go his way. Kita and last week we all said he was a must ad. Now I think he's just a must start. Ten targets in two straight games. Fantastic matchup against the Chiefs. Sam Laporta actually got a lot of volume last week with
no Jamison Williams. This is the last j moo, so get him in your lineup while you can uh no offense because we spoke about this on yesterday's show. But I just love the matchup against the Rams. And then since I know we disagree on this, Marcus LaQuan, you're gonna have to be the deciding vote. But I think you played safe with t J. Hawkinson this week, even
though I know the matchup is very good. Uh then Hunter Henry just the Titans defense are really good, and it could be Jacoby Brissett, zach Ertz Giants have been really good at shutting down tight ends, and then Isaiah likely. Look it is over for Isaya likely now with Deonty Johnson.
I actually gotta break the tie, like I think, and look, I minus just vibes. Ryan is just a feeling of TJ. Hawkinson coming back. Floyda actually has reason and nuance on his side. Uh so break the tie? Do you start or sit TJ. Hawkinson?
I think you star him, man, because my tightands have been Johnny Schmith, zach Ertz and Hunter Henry.
Okay, you you start him, Yeah, you have to start him.
We've been bad in the Fantasy Street.
We've been down, super bad, to the point where we're going on the waiver wire streaming tight ends of tight ends like right and strange, like we're trying to get some points somewhere and somehow and like yes, I am starting t J Atkinson for the rest of the season.
At this point.
I love the fact that the analysis is my tightand stinks when I'm starting.
To Hawkinson scraping the bottom of the barrel each week trying to get all five points. So you know how embarrassing that is to be in your heart, I will say, I don't.
Appreciate you saying my tight ends stinks and then saying John new Smith.
Oh that's your guy, that's my guy, that that's the homie man. I mean, look, high five.
We're still We're still on board.
We're still we're still tracking.
Huh.
All right, all right, we'll see how this goes.
So you go.
Those are the.
Starts and sins for the week.
Of course, you can get more analysis you go to NFL dot com slash start sit and get some proper write ups on all the names that we're mentioned here on the show today.
