Speaker 1

Wow, Hey everybody, It's Monday, July eighth, twenty twenty four. Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast, where summer vacation is over. It's me your man, nam G Marcus Grant, joined by Michael F. Florio and LaQuan Jones. We were off last week, gentlemen, Florio, how did you spend your time not doing podcasting stuff?

Speaker 2

Yeah, I definitely did not podcast last week. I'll tell you that I went to a friend's pool for the Fourth of July, which was a lot of fun. Played some softball, basketball, went to the gym. Yeah, there's a lot of stuff like that. Didn't go anywhere, do anything like that, but it was just a fun, relaxing week. And I hope you both had the same.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it was good. Laquon, what did you get up to.

Speaker 4

I was podcasting. I was actually, you know, podcasting with the fantasy community, doubling up on Wednesday. I did one on Thursday. It was just like, oh, I double booked again. But you know, I had fun, you know doing those podcasts. Those are always great. But my daughter's birthday was the following weekend. Well it was the weekend, so we did a little extravagin at the pool food barbecue, you know, chilled, took her to the mall for build a Bear, you know, and just had a chilled weekend.

Speaker 3

Very cool. Happy birthday. Happy birthday to your daughter for sure. Yeah, you know.

Speaker 1

We did the Disneyland thing last week, which was was fun. The kid had a good time there. And then over the weekend got back together with some family, kind of a little impromptu family reunion, and then longtime friends we all got back together, kind of had a guy's weekend.

Speaker 3

We all grew up going to Oakland A's games.

Speaker 1

We've since scattered across the country, but we got back together for what is likely our last ever A's game together in Oakland.

Speaker 3

So we went back to the ballpark.

Speaker 1

It it's a sad, sad state of affairs there.

Speaker 4

You seem sad when you put well, I mean.

Speaker 1

Just for you know, for a team that is at such a long history and a great connection to the community. To see the way ownership has destroyed that connection to the community, and that there were literally eight thousand people at the ballpark. Can you just sit wherever you want? Yeah, you could just sit wherever you wanted. You could just walk around and sit wherever you wanted. So that was the sad part. The fun part is the A's actually

scored nineteen runs in that game. They might not score nineteen runs in their next five or six games combined, but they scored nineteen runs, and the first for me. On all the baseball games I've ever been to in my life, I've never been to a game where I saw a position player pitch.

Speaker 3

I got to see a.

Speaker 1

Position play the Orioles at some point, just so they waved the white flag and they brought in a position player to just throw the bottom of the eighth inning.

Speaker 2

I was gonna ask if you got to see Mason Miller pitch, but that seems more No.

Speaker 1

No, I did not see Mason Miller pitch. I saw a guy named Justin McCann. I think his name was pitch. He ended up giving up a home run. But yeah, otherwise, wait, not James McCann, right, Maybe it was James McCann, former Mets legend.

Speaker 3

Yes, yes, that is it. James McCann.

Speaker 2

He a boatload of money and he was cut like a year later.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Well now he he gets mop up duty for the Orioles whe things go badly.

Speaker 3

So yeah, so there. It is all right.

Speaker 1

Anyway, enough about the A's and baseball and fourth of July and hopefully all of you out there had a good holiday weekend as well. We will talk some scott Fish Bowl because that is underway. I know they had some live drafts going on across the country, saw plenty of photos across social media. I'm sitting here looking at my phone right now to make sure that I am not on the clock in my draft, and I am not.

It's still a couple of picks away from me. Who knows by the time we finished this pot, maybe I'll be on the clock. But we'll talk to some scott Fish Bowl the meantime. Few news headlines that we all came across that you know, have a little bit of interest here as we get a little bit closer to training camp. Starting first, one that popped up to me, Evan Ingram says he wants to become a deep threat for the Jaguars. Last year had a career season, but

the average depth of target was not great. It was basically extended handoffs. He was designed last year to be the underneath guy for Trevor Lawrence in the Jaguars offense, and so as such, you know, the depth of target not particularly great, so the overall yardage numbers maybe not as great as you thought they could have been. But Florio, if he really is going to be a guy who stretches the field, and I don't like gotta say he's

gonna be a super deep threat. He's not gonna, you know, turn into prime Deshaun Jackson or anything like that.

Speaker 3

Does it change how you think about him in drafts? Uh? It.

Speaker 2

I don't think he's gonna get the one hundred and forty three targets that he saw last year, so it could help mitigate that. But part of what made Evan Ingram so great was the high head trade was the high number of targets, because, like you said, he was kind of used as an extension of the run game or underneath a little bit like, hey, we're just gonna get the ball up quickly to Evan Ingram, which is

where I think he's best utilized. But we did see the Giants back in the day use him a bit more downfield, so I don't want that to become his primary focus. I would like his role to stay very similar to what it.

Speaker 3

Was last year.

Speaker 2

But if they wanted to sprinkle in a deep shot or two per game for him, then sign me up. But if we're changing his entire identity in this offense, then I think that's a bad game.

Speaker 1

So last year you mentioned one hundred and forty three targets, one hundred and fourteen catches for nine hundred and sixty three yards he had. He had way over one hundred catches and was still, you know, a good little ways away.

Speaker 3

From one thousand yards for the season. I mean, Lakwhan.

Speaker 1

When you look at this offense, you know, we know Christian Kirk is there. Uh, they brought in Gabe Davis, They drafted Brian Thomas, and certainly Davis and Tomas can be guys that we know can get down the field. When you look at this offense, what do you expect the target order to be? I mean, it looks like Christian Kirks the number one guy. But after that, how do you think it's gonna get split up?

Speaker 4

I think they're going for more vertical attack, so it could get a little bit wishy washy at that second target. It could be Gabe Davis. You know, he could surprise us all and just constantly be targeted downfield. As that guy, but Evan Ingram wanting to expand his role. It's a

little interesting. I think where Florio said he works best is close to the line of scrimmage, being the security blanket, those little pop all screens that he can create after to catch, and that's really where he gets his bread and butter. Like we mentioned back when he was with the Giants, he had like nine hundred and eighteen air yards, but that's because of Eli Manning and then it took

a dip because of Daniel Jones. So I feel like more so it's gonna be a question who's that three and four to where like they might not end up being ass fantasy relevant, which might be Brian Thomas Junior or even Evan Ingram. I feel like Gabe Davis being added to this offense, they're going to want to have the ball go down the vertical threat where he'll take up those deep shots, and even Brian Thomas Junior has the ability to go downfield. So I really don't see

him being consistently targeted downfield. But if you sprinkle in some hey, that's cool, maybe even get the yard a job for him.

Speaker 1

I mean, I think that's the thing I will trade. I will trade targets for more yards, for deeper targets, right Like if that target number comes down and it's closer to you know, ten one point fifteen, but in the end, you know, his his yards per target go up, his yards per catch overall get closer to you know ten eleven, which is what he was earlier in his career.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I can live with that sort of thing, but I just do wonder again sort of like we talked about last year with this team, there are so many places to go with the ball?

Speaker 3

Will you have that consistency?

Speaker 1

And a big part of why he got one hundred and forty three targets last year is because other guys were hurt. Kurt got hurt at some point, where Ridley was was banged up at times. Dy Jones was hurt for a good long while and that sort of helped. So if everybody stays healthy, I don't know what the target share is going to be. So I've been hesitant to draft him in Best Ball, but I would, you know, maybe I'll give him another look.

Speaker 2

How many catches do you, guys, not an exact number, but ballpark do you think he finishes with?

Speaker 3

I think he's around eighty eighty to ninety.

Speaker 4

Yeah, I was gonna say like seventy eighty because he's still the security blanket. I mean, he's still going to be the guy they dump it off to.

Speaker 2

Eighty would be thirty four less catches than last year, which is equivalent to three hundred and forty yards in PPR.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so then in other words, so to make that up, he would need to be more of a downfield threat to try to make up that gap. I mean, I say eighty in ninety just because it sort of is more in line before last year his career high was seventy three.

Speaker 2

Yeah. The more we're talking about him in Ingram, the more I'm like, yeah, I'm not drafting him.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 4

I was like, as we iron this out, just like, yeah, I'm probably fading him.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And ladies, ladies and gentleman's how his words. Sometimes we just talk things out out loud and questions are answered. Sometimes it just it just sort of happens that way. Yeah, for sure. Over to Green Bay, Josh Jacobs has some lofty aspirations with the Packers.

Speaker 3

He says, I have a real goal of legacy.

Speaker 1

He really wants to, you know, leave a mark both in this league and certainly with the green Bay Packers. Look, last year, we've seen Josh Jacobs do some really good things in the last couple of years running the football. We saw that with the Raiders, and now he goes over to Green Bay. I mean, my first question to you, lokw On, does he get the same level of work with the Packers that he did with the Raiders, just because in recent years, Green Bay hasn't seemed to be

a team that leans on one guy. I mean, ask anybody who drafted Aaron Jones. I mean, can we can we think that Josh Jacobs suddenly gets this workhorse role just because he's in Green Bay.

Speaker 4

I think he's deck for at least two hundred and thirty touches overall, because he is a guy that could use out of the backfield as a pass catcher, you can use him on the ground. I think this is where we see him more efficient rather than last season. What he kind of left was with like he's kind of left everybody with a bad taste. But when we really look at that situation, Jimmy ge he gets hurt.

You know, they change quarterbacks, firing of McDaniels, like there's a lot going on, and then he even called an injury after a while as well, so all his production and efficiency just went down. I think with this fresh start and like we've seen him on Insiders, you know, with that interview with Tom Parasol, and he's like basically feeling refreshed and he's ready to go. So I think that the Packers will lean on him as much as they can until they can't where he gets banged up.

But that's why you have marshn Lloyd. You have a guy that can just be plug and play there, and I'm really excited for his opportunities in year one whatever he gets.

Speaker 3

All right, So you gotta led me into the next question.

Speaker 1

I mean, Florio, am I crazy because I have been drafting Marshawn Lloyd so far?

Speaker 4

Homer, Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 2

Think you're it's crazy at all, because I think Josh Jacobs is one of the players this year with the widest range of outcomes, Like he could be aj Dillon and Aaron Jones in one where the he's just a three down back and Matt Lafleur finally has one running back he could trust rather than having to have a two back system. But at the same point in time,

he was pretty awful metrically speaking. Last year, like lowest amount of runs to go for ten or more yards, it was him and Austin Eckler tied for the lowest in that league, and Austin Eckler was playing on two bummed ankles. Josh Jacobs doesn't have that excuse, so like two years ago, was clearly the outlier. Now at this point in his career, I think I don't even think his ceiling is quite that high when he was the RB two in fantasy, but he could easily be top

ten running back. But I could also I think in his range of outcomes as being one of the biggest bus in fantasy football this year. So I don't think you're crazy for drafting Marshawn Lloyd, and I'll say even at a somewhat reduced cost getting him in like the fourth round for Josh Jacobs, I do not myself drafting him often.

Speaker 1

So I mean I mentioned it in part because I had a chance last week to uh to do a little guest spot on Move the Sticks with Bucky Brooks. I saw that summer saying it was the greatest crossover event in NFL media podcast history.

Speaker 3

I'm not saying that, but some people are.

Speaker 1

And like, one of the things I mentioned is that I, you know, I was, like, I admitted to kind of being a little bit of a homer and drafting Marshawn Lloyd and BUCkies. Bucky's responsibisically like, that's all right, you can be a homer sometimes, which didn't really give me a lot of confidence.

Speaker 3

About how he felt about Lloyd's prospects. He's like, no, it's all right, I sttimes you could be a homer. That's cool.

Speaker 1

Just you know, you stick up for your guy, and it's kind of like, oh uh oh.

Speaker 3

So it's take a little pat on the head. It was.

Speaker 1

It was very much like a little like good job, that's not good, bad boy. I'm like for you, all right. So so you saying that, floorya at least makes me feel a little bit more validated. I I I understand that Jacobs is going to get the majority of the work there, but I do believe that Lloyd's going to have maybe a bigger role than some people anticipate. And if something were to happen and Jacobs gets hurt, then suddenly it becomes the Marshaw Lloyd Show.

Speaker 4

Much better backup than aj Dillon behind Aaron Jones. I'll tell you that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I mean that bar is kind of low right now. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2

Last year Josh Jacobs negative eighty six rushing yards over expectation. Zamir White on a per touch basis was way better on the same offense.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Side note to that, are we maybe getting out over our skis about Zamir White? Like, is this gonna be a Tony Pollard thing where Zamir White suddenly gets a bigger workload and the efficiency just falls off a cliff.

Speaker 4

I'm very hesitant in drafting him. I feel like this offense doesn't look good, Like it doesn't appeal me to go draft a running back on the Raiders right now, just based on the quarterback situation. We don't know what this offense looks like. Career lows for Adams and Jacob's like there was nothing good to build off to go into this year. So I'm kind of like, ugh, Yeah.

Speaker 2

I don't dislike Zamir White. The only thing I dislike is the running backschooing, Like I could get James Connor in the same round. I could get Jonathan Brooks in the same round. So yeah, I do like those two a little. But I do like Zamir Like he looked good, uh in the motiva that game against the Chiefs on Christmas Day. Oh my god, as that burned in my brain. He was running so well that day.

Speaker 3

Yeah, no, he was.

Speaker 1

I just know, I mean, we got all super excited when they you know, when Josh Jaykins moved on, like it's a mere white time and they signed Alexander Madison and everybody's like it's a mere white time, like like like people announced Alexander Madison's signing and all the fantasy Twitter was like, yeah, it's a mere white Like oh dang, Yeah, that's gotta hurt a little bit. Anyway, I'll take quick break,

we'll come back. We got some more news headlines and will dive into some Scott Fish Bowl stuff a little bit later on the show. Here on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast, digging into some off season headlines as we count down toward the start of training camps in Denver. Bo Knicks quote has done nothing but impress his teammates and coaches. In quote, the quarterback situation still very much unsettled.

In Denver, but it does look like the rookie could be maybe taking over sooner rather than later for the Broncos and Sean Payton, I mean, Florida. I don't think we're gonna sit here and pretend that Bo Knicks is a guy we are starting every week in redraft leagues. But is there a chance he could be a QB two in redraft situations?

Speaker 3

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Because the Broncos are probably gonna be pretty awful this year, which means they're gonna have to throw the ball a whole bunch. And Bo Knicks is also a sneaky athlete, so I wouldn't be surprised if he can add a little value with his legs. That being said, his ceiling is probably a back half QB two, Like, I don't envision.

Speaker 4

Him being a top fifteen quarterbacker, and if it is.

Speaker 2

It's probably more just pure volume. He's out there while guys are banged up.

Speaker 3

Stuff like that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I mean, look right now the quarterback situation, Bo Nicks, you know, I guess maybe has the inside track to be in the starter. Jared Stidham, Zach Wilson are his competition. Is that even a mid off No.

Speaker 4

No, I love if we could say.

Speaker 1

All right, I mean, so Lakwan you mentioned before the break out of the Raider offense didn't really get you all that fired up to draft anybody. Is it possible the Bronco offense is even less exciting?

Speaker 4

Yeah, I mean they're kind of like neck and neck. I mean like this offense kind of took a step back. You traded Jerry Judy, you traded Russell Wilson, like he's off to Pittsburgh. And I feel like there's so many more questions going into the season versus last season. So there's questions at the running back and there's question at

the wide receiver positions. Troy Flanklin is gonna have that chemistry display with bow Knicks in year one, and like hopefully bo Knicks does become the starter so they can kind of hit the ground running them to But my overall, like, look at this offense doesn't like I need to go draft somebody. I don't need to go draft Davonte Williams, sorry Marcus. And I don't need to get Courtland Sutton in the eighth or ninth round. It just looks really nasty to me trying to get these guys on my roster.

Speaker 3

You can't hurt me anymore with oh you let it go.

Speaker 1

I can't be hurt anymore. Like I've had to come I've had to kind of come to terms with it and that. Look, I have drafted him some in Best Ball, but it hasn't been with the same level of enthusiasm I would have had, like a couple of years ago. Like I understand sort of what this is now. You know, Look, some my JP Ryan is staying there. I've drafted Jalil McLoughlin,

I've drafted Julim McLoughlin. I've drafted Odric Estimate a couple of times, just because I have no idea what this backfield is going to be.

Speaker 2

So McLaughlin is my personal favorite.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I know he's a he's atle bit of a hype bunny right now. Julium the first he could.

Speaker 2

But the one that no one talks about is samaj p Ryan, and he was the one racking up all the catches last year.

Speaker 1

I mean, I think that the consensus is that McLoughlin may sort of push pe Ryan aside. At least I think that's sort of the hope amongst you know, certain parts of fantasy Twitter, and I think that's where some of the excitement is coming from. But if we're just going on past usage, yeah, pe Ryan is the guy that should be getting more love, but for whatever reason, just is not. And I can't completely explain it, so I don't know. Last headline here, Tank Bigsby says he

is looking for a larger role in year two. Lakwan, you you were the one who kind of flagged this one for it, because yeah, uh no, But I mean like it's like, I'll just I'll ask you what you put in here? Is he worth drafting this summer?

Speaker 4

Like I was a fan last year, I got sold by the hype train, you know, and like the reports and you know, coach talk, and I feel like the talent is there. It's just like it just didn't translate to when it mattered in game speed. So it's like I feel like I'm going to be drafting him this year. I just feel like there could be opportunity for him to actually take this step forward. I know I sound crazy saying this. I don't have any Mettrice. Dude only

had fifty carries last year and they were terrible. He dropped a bunch of passes out of the backfield, which was terrible. So there's no real evidence here that he will be a fantasy value. But I'm just gonna take my shots because running backs they always face injury in and out. So I really feel as if the coaching staff is getting behind him in year two, like, hey, we understand you lost some confidence last year. We're going to push you and put you in to try to

get you the reps. And I think, you know that'll be a little bit more encouraging.

Speaker 1

I mean, I think, I mean, I sort of get that right, that gut feeling.

Speaker 3

I hope that he takes a step forward.

Speaker 1

I was surprised when you threw the story in and you see sort of these sort of kind of positive things, because a lot of the chatter recently and the last month or so is that he was still kind of struggling to establish himself and get a role.

Speaker 3

Last year was not particularly good for him.

Speaker 1

Deernest Johnson is there in Jacksonville as well, and there was just some talk that maybe it was coming slower than I think Jacksonville than the Jaguars would have liked.

Speaker 3

So I mean, I'm I'm curious, I'm with you. I don't know.

Speaker 1

I don't have anything to really say one way or another what Tank Bigsby's role is going to be. And look, he's still young, right, there's still reason to be optimistic. Like there's no reason to just pull the plug on it just yet. I just I don't know. I mean, for you, Florida, does this change anything about Travis Etn?

Speaker 3

No.

Speaker 2

I think Etn is still going to be the workhorse guy. I think he's going to be the goal line runner. He's I mean, Bigsby had four targets last year, like like Etn is going to have that passing down job on lock. But the thing is, like to take Tanks Bigsby, you're taking him as like one of your last round pack. Like to me, he's purely a handcuff. Like I don't even consider him one of those like backups like like Ray Davis that or Marshaan Lloyd we were talking about earlier,

Jalen Wright, like those guys I'm more excited about. But after that, like, if you have et N, yeah, take Bigsby like like especially in re draft leagues, maybe not in basketball, but in redraft take him. The only thing I'll say I was looking at adp on Underdog and uh, he's going right ahead of well right after Deontay Foreman, and yeah, give me like he.

Speaker 3

Is way right now. Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's funny because like he like I gets a lot of in the end of a lot of beastball drafts and he's still sitting there and I'm like, huh, you know, I just I'll click on it because you know, who knows what's gonna happen.

Speaker 3

Uh with Deonta Foreman, it's definitely worth kind of.

Speaker 4

Taking disrespect needs to stop. That's all I'm gonna say for Fantasy Twitter.

Speaker 1

All Right, all right, Lakwan Jones has spoken, he has put it out there.

Speaker 4

Is the goat.

Speaker 1

Okay, now, let's let's calm down.

Speaker 4

This dude does not produce what opportunity we forget about Chicago that didn't happen.

Speaker 3

Goots, let's let's let's take them.

Speaker 1

This is a good spot for us to take a break so everybody can get it, so we can.

Speaker 3

All get a drink of water, and we can get a drink of water. We can calm down.

Speaker 1

I know it's been hot out there, you know, let's all let's all take a pause. We'll come back let's talk some Scott fish Balls, the Scott fish Bowl stuff, and just a bit on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. Well, if you are any parts of the fantasy football community on social media and you have had anything close to internet access or cell phone service over the last month, you might know that the Scott Fish Bowl is on

its way. In fact, the online drafts begin today. I know they were live drafts across the country.

Speaker 2

L Q.

Speaker 3

Did you do the has the LLI Draft happened? Did you do the l draft this year?

Speaker 2

No?

Speaker 3

Two weeks?

Speaker 1

Yeah, so we got some time, okay, because I know you did that last year and it looked like it was.

Speaker 3

A lot of fun.

Speaker 4

Yeah, a lot of fun, man, a lot of chaos too. So trophies they bring a lot of energy and a lot of things to do.

Speaker 1

So but yeah, well, good job. I saw drafts from all over the country. I know Vegas, I want to say, Nashville.

Speaker 4

Maybe Cincinnati, I think in Orlando, Florida.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I know, there's a didn't very I think there's some in Texas. I'm not sure if it was Houston or Dallas. Houston as well, so all over the place. It just it speaks to how big this thing has gotten you know, and.

Speaker 3

We should have Gottencott Fish back on.

Speaker 1

We had Scott Fish on this show a couple of years ago and he kind of explained the history of it.

Speaker 3

How you know, it started a small thing.

Speaker 1

Here we are fourteen years later, and it is It is the unofficial start. I think it's gonna become the unofficial start to kind of like redraft season, like best ball season has taken on a life of its own. This is the unofficial start to redraft fantasy football season. It's a huge tournament. It is one that everybody wants to be a part of. And on top of it, maybe more importantly, it is a great event for fantasy cares for charity. I think just as fun as the draft.

To me is at the end of the sall when Scott posts the pictures of them going out and buying toys and delivering toys and you know, actually paying off the charity part of what this is, so that that part is absolutely amazing as well. So shout out to Scott Fish, to Ryan McDowell's everybody over there who keeps this thing up and humming along every single year, because it just gets bigger and it becomes a more massive undertaking, and so shout out to all those guys who who

make this thing happen. But the other part of it that is fun is the actual drafting part of it, and that is underway on multiple different platforms.

Speaker 3

What the Floyd, What what division are you in? Do you know?

Speaker 2

Yeah? I am in the Peter Bretder division, which is uh. Peter is the main character from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which is one of my favorite movies of all time. I rewatched it this weekend just to get in the movie, and I have pumped. I have not yet made a pick yo my draft. I mean granted right now, literally at the second, we're three and a half hours into the live draft, the slow drafts kicking off. I think I've already seen like three messages like hey, you're on

the clock. That was already like is someone gonna get kicked out for not making their pick? I'm like, guys, we all want a draft, but.

Speaker 1

Even started yet, Like seriously, let's let's let's pump the brain. I know everybody's super excited, like just as a courtesy, like don't hit somebody with the OTC, like immediately when they get on the clock, like give them a.

Speaker 4

Minute, like it's seven hours left.

Speaker 1

If it's a couple of hours in, uh, you know, then maybe give them a little bit of a nudge. I mean, I've had people in my group say, hey, look, I'm just telling you now, I've got circumstances. I have real life circumstances. It may take me a few hours. People are already putting out disclaimers about like it may take you a few hours. And I'm like, hey, man, do you you know we got all day thirty.

Speaker 2

Minutes in and the guy who number one hadn't made a pick yet and they were in my league, was like, is.

Speaker 3

He going to make a pick?

Speaker 2

We haven't seen him talking, And then he made a pick immediately after that.

Speaker 1

Now you got bullied into making a pick. Don't let that do you want? I know, don't get shamed into that's one? So wait, what spot are you in?

Speaker 3

Florio?

Speaker 2

I chose pick eleven. I love being in the back hat in the back portion of drafts because one, it allows me to kind of just say, like, f it easier, like if I want a guy, I know I have these two picks, Otherwise I'm not getting them. Also, it I kind of like being the like boom boom, make my two picks. So I know I'm not holding up the clock or anything like that.

Speaker 1

But also like you know, you know, like so the first round be fine, You're gonna make your two picks, and then you're not gonna pick for like three days. Yeah, you're not gonna you know, it's gonna go around for a while. Uh So on what division are you and what what pick.

Speaker 3

Do you have?

Speaker 4

I am at one O nine in the Ridge in Mortall, which is Letho Weapon, one of my nineties action Well is that late eighties nineties?

Speaker 1

Because I think I think the first one might have been late eighties, but yeah, it did stretch into the Yeah, the first one was nineteen eighty seven, but it does stretch into the nineties.

Speaker 4

See Yeah, shout out to my grandma and see she put me on all the actual movies. Man, just me and her just watched for hours. But I'm in that division with some good folks that I was in with the LA Live Draft last year. So it's gonna be a great time.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I guess I should mention too. THEAU every year there is a theme. This year's theme is movies. I am the ninth pick no, the eighth pick. Rather, I'm sorry in uh the dude from The Big Lebowski.

Speaker 3

I get it. I didn't watch it yet, but I get it.

Speaker 1

It's a little about I'm I am then the Lebowski the Dude division.

Speaker 3

I have the eighth pick right now. Pick seven is on the clock, So.

Speaker 1

There's a there's an outside chance I could be on the clock before we finish this show. Who knows, I have. I have some people queued up. There's actually still four people left in my queue from Oh that's rare. Yeah, I honestly, I will say this. There's a quick rundown of mine. Josh Allen goes number one. Not a big shock, of course, in a super Flex league. Christian McCaffrey at two, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes go three, four, Tyreek Hill goes at five.

Speaker 3

Uh b. Jeon Robinson goes at six.

Speaker 4

So yeah, so hey, it's getting spicy.

Speaker 1

It is getting a little bit spicy right now. So we'll we'll see. So I got some guys queued up.

Speaker 2

You hope it to get I mean this, you'll you'll have made your pick before this comes out.

Speaker 3

And that's true. That's what I'm hoping for I don't. I don't know if I can pull the trigger on that in the first round. I'm not sure.

Speaker 1

Uh well, depending like Jalen Hurts is still there. Yeah, that right, that's Jalen Hurts is still there. I was not expecting one of the top quarterbacks to still be there when it got to me.

Speaker 3

I mean I was.

Speaker 1

I was thinking I'd be looking at a you know, Ceede Lamb, Jamar Chase, maybe Tyreek Hill sort of thing. So now I actually do have choices when it gets to me at this point, Have either of you come up with a particular strategy that that you're gonna employ for this?

Speaker 4

Uh yeah, have fun. Get the mobile quarterbacks early. I mean I want Anthony Richardson and Jayden Dames. That's my combination I'm trying to get.

Speaker 3

I won't.

Speaker 2

I don't think I'm gonna double down on quarterback because I I don't enjoy going that route. But those two, or and Kyler Murray. I'm hoping one of those three at pick eleven, pair them with the top receiver, and then I'm gonna wait because like quarterback at least, because you can get some of these Russian guys later that I think, bring.

Speaker 3

Up Daniel Jones.

Speaker 4

Guy, you're gonna wait that late, and good Danny.

Speaker 2

I'd probably go Will Levis, but Daniel Jones is in play. I always like to wait on my second quarterback in super flex and and because I could get an elite wide receiver.

Speaker 3

An elite running back and then.

Speaker 2

Still take like two upside shots on quarterback later and hope one hits.

Speaker 3

That's always my approach in super flexing. Yeah. See, I'm debates again.

Speaker 1

I was not expecting that I had a shot at somebody like Jalen Hurts. I was thinking I was gonna get a wide receiver in round one and come back and get my quarterback in round two. But you know, the the equation may be changing here right now in time. It really might in real time, it really might be. And I'm sort of with you, Floria. I'm gonna try

to get a quarterback early. Then I'll probably load up and get them like a couple of wide receivers, maybe a tight end because it is a tight end premium tight end premium league, so maybe get a tight end, uh, and then come back and kind of get another quarterback. I'll probably get another quarterback sometime in the middle rounds depending on how things sort of shake out right there, Either of you guys got a drafted kicker?

Speaker 2

No, no, I'm sorry you guys pulling up One thing I've seen a lot of on Twitter at least is people pulling up cake returners, And yeah, I know that's something you you've definitely spent a lot of time looking into. Is that something that you're gonna do in this draft or no?

Speaker 4

Yes, rashishah Heid will be on my roster. He yeah, Michelle took him in the third shout out to her.

Speaker 2

Maybe this is the the old man in me or something. But I'm always like, are we overreacting now to in that like third round, Rashi Shaheed, No offense means smart?

Speaker 3

I mean, yes, yes, right, but but you know, we love it.

Speaker 1

And if there's if there's every tournament in which you can overreact to things, it is the scott Fish Bowl, you know, because there's so many people involved, it is so really hard to win in that it's worth taking some really big, like really really.

Speaker 4

Big points for a kick return. I am taking that guy if he's going to be on this hybrid NFL kickoff right now.

Speaker 1

So well, and you still and especially with a guy like Shahid, you do still have the opportunity to get more traditional points.

Speaker 4

Derek Carr.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's I mean, sure, like live's full of trade offs, but but that that is a yeah, definitely part of it.

Speaker 3

But uh yeah, definitely.

Speaker 1

Uh if you know you are interested, I would say, go search the hashtag s FB fourteen.

Speaker 3

People are posting their picks there there.

Speaker 1

You know, I know for some of the people who are at the live drafts, they're posting what they put or how they they built their teams in the live drafts. Now, LaQuan, you were there, so like you don't draft the entire team, right, it's just the first like eight or nine round.

Speaker 4

Like, yeah, we did like ten rounds I think, and then the rest is on you know, it's already on sleeper, Like you're making your picks on sleeper and just putting it up on the board Like that's kind of how it was.

Speaker 1

Okay, Okay, So even for the people who did live drafts, they still have more drafting to do.

Speaker 3

They will do probably the slow format for the rest of the week.

Speaker 4

Couple of times people had to come find me because I was like walking around talking, drinking and stuff.

Speaker 1

So like you know, ever, the social butterfly.

Speaker 2

World know why I didn't do the live drafts because I love this week of SFP slow drafting.

Speaker 3

Yeah, no comment.

Speaker 1

Well, anyway, I'm sure all throughout the next week, a couple of weeks or so, you'll be seeing lots of people posting about their scott Fish Bowl teams.

Speaker 3

And here we are. Redraft season is off and running.

Speaker 4

For sure, I can't wait to use that one tool we had though before where you could see who's going waring who.

Speaker 1

There's actually out the the josh adhd tool there yea is out now and actually it has moved I think before it was sort of a separate thing. I know that this year it is moved over to Matthew Berry's Fantasy Life. OK So if you actually, if you search, if you go on Twitter, either search for josh Adhd or just search Matthew Berry. They tweeted it out earlier on Monday, so you can go check that out too.

Speaker 3

But it is up. It is live. Obviously, there haven't been enough.

Speaker 1

Picks yet, yeah, for it to actually be operational, but it is always very cool because you can see where certain players are being taken. You can look at roster Builds, you can compare, you know, your team to other teams and that sort of thing. It is an amazing tool. Definitely be sure to go go check that out for sure.

Speaker 3

For sure.

Speaker 1

Before we get out of here for a wrap the show, I wanted to take an opportunity to salute the around the NFL podcast And if you listen to this show, chances are very good that you also have been a listener of ATM and to that point, you also probably know that they had not posted a show for a while. Then on Sunday, Greg Rosenthal tweeted about the fact that their last show.

Speaker 3

Has turned out to be their last show.

Speaker 1

The heroes are no longer doing a show together here at NFL Media. Greg Rosenthal will continue on with a show called NFL Daily. You know, Dan Hansis Mark Sessler are off to other pastures and certainly wish them the best. And I just want to kind of shout these guys out because this show for the It's life at NFL Media has been the gold standards, certainly amongst our media group. It has been a gold standard amongst football podcasts. And people always ask me, like what makes a good podcast?

Speaker 3

And I always say.

Speaker 1

The first thing is it's the chemistry amongst the host and it's when when you listen to a show and you know that the people hosting it are legitimately friends. And that is what made part of what made that show so amazing that you had at one point you had four at one point dynamic people. You had you know, you had the amazing Chris Westling, who we miss every day, who was both uberminsh and every man all in one person. You had you know, Greg Rosenthal with his incredible deep

knowledge of the NFL. You had Mark Sessler who somehow took the ethereal and made it touchable on a regular basis. One of the greatest compliments I've ever got since I working here is I wrote something and somebody wrote to me and said it reads like something Mark Cusler would write, and I was like, that's the nicest thing you.

Speaker 3

Could really ever say to me.

Speaker 1

Dan hanss who was the ring master who sort of kept it all together. But it was the show that I aspired to create. It was when we had the Fantasy Stronghold those years ago. That was the model that we tried to build, and it's the thing that I've tried to sort of recreate here with this show as well. So I am I love all those guys individually, I love them together. I am sad that it has ended. I'm sad that it is indo the way it ended. I wish them all nothing but the best in success

with whatever they do. That show will be missed here for sure, But shout out to the shout out to the heroes. We will always heed the call, no matter when and where, and I'll do it for this edition of the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast.

Speaker 3

Stay happy, save and healthy, do good and live well.

Speaker 1

We are twice a week now, so we will talk to you on Wednesday.
