Series Closeout
This is the FINAL episode of our Jesus Series - A journey through the gospel of Mark on NCC Daily. This has been one of our longest-running Dailies that we have done to date, with this being Episode 75! We have heard from our teaching team, our NCC staff, NCC group leaders, and even some of our NCC missionaries. We are SO BLESSED to have such a breadth and depth of resources to continue to challenge us and inspire us to deeper understanding and more authentic living....

A Strange Joy
Today, we’re reading from Mark 15:33-41, which outlines Jesus’ death.
Choose to Surrender
We continue through the book of Mark, today looking at Mark 15:27-32.
Suffering, For the Joy
In our reading for today, Mark 15:16-26, we find ourselves in the midst of a chilling, yet stirring scene set between the nail of justice and the nails of the cross.
Satisfying the Crowd
We’re coming to the end of our journey through Mark’s Gospel and we find ourselves in the middle of the Passion narrative. The unholy trinity of the high priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders have arrested Jesus and drummed up charges against him but they don’t have the authority to execute him. For that, they turn to the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate.
Shame off You
I’m here today to speak your today and say there is hope for you Peter. Jesus is coming to redeem you and restore you. The same way he gave hope to the shameful woman he met at a well in Samaria. The same way he dismissed accusers and dusted off a woman caught in the very act of her greatest sin, in deep disgrace and declared “I do not condemn you. Go! And sin no more.” Whoever you are listening today, Go. There is still more for you to do in God’s Kingdom.
Following at a Distance
Today we will be digging into Mark 14:53-65.
Watch. Pray. Rise.
Today we are going to be diving into Mark 14:32-52.
Turn Back to Jesus
As important and crucial as that Passover meal was, I want to focus today on Jesus’ prediction that Peter would deny Him.
The Last Supper
As we go through the book of Mark, today we will focus on Mark 14:12-21.
Perception and Activation
I think perceptions impact spiritual activation. In this passage, we see three types of spiritual activation: Religiosity, Devotion, or Indifference.
The Doorman
We must be proactive doorkeepers of our spiritual lives. Instead of succumbing to comfort-induced complacency, we should actively engage in our relationships with Him, by recognizing the doorkeeper's role, we can safeguard against the things of the world that are designed to tear that very relationship.
Certainty in Uncertain Times
In a world where information is at our fingertips and we operate in the illusion of control, we can be tempted to believe that we know what our future outcomes will be. While we can plan with wisdom and discernment, we cannot control the future.
Invited Into Mystery
If we are finding our contentment in anything else besides Jesus Himself, then we might need to find our way back to worrying only about today, and opening our hands to receive our daily bread from Him alone, and being content in the mystery of not knowing.
A Message of Hope
Today we will be reading from Mark 13:1-13.
Jesus Suffices Wonderfully
What would it mean for us to give everything for the sake of the kingdom, not for show but because life with Jesus is better than all the rest? In a culture that’s all about what we earn and we deserve, could we live counter-culturally and have faith to believe like the widow did that Jesus is worth all we have? I think we’d come to realize that when we lay it all down, we get Jesus, and He suffices wonderfully.
Love Paradigm & Kingdom Living
Let us embrace this love parable—seeking God’s presence in all things and become vessels of his love to those that we encounter. By doing so, we become conduits of God’s love bringing life and transformation to the world around us and as we live out this commandment we draw closer to the kingdom of God where love reigns supreme and unity becomes the cornerstone.
