We’re coming to the end of our journey through Mark’s Gospel and we find ourselves in the middle of the Passion narrative. The unholy trinity of the high priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders have arrested Jesus and drummed up charges against him but they don’t have the authority to execute him. For that, they turn to the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate.
