139 The Courage to Create!
Jun 12, 2018•19 min•Season 1Ep. 143
Episode description
What does it take to be creative? It's common to hear people say "I'm not the creative type", yet our brains are designed to come up with ideas all the time. Coming up with ideas is easy but converting those ideas into reality is a lot more difficult! In this episode, Pete discusses why it is productivity, not creativity, which is essential for living the inspired life and provides simple tools to being more productive. Pete describes creativity as 'the art of seeing something' and explains how once you can see something, it then exists in a 'thought world'. To bring ideas into a 'physical world' requires a great deal of courage - otherwise described as investing emotional energy into an idea to make it materialise. Pete explains the relationship between courage and commitment and shares 3 key rules for how to recommit to your goals daily. Want to become more creative? Try following these rules!
- Write ideas down! The brain is terrible at holding onto ideas for extended periods of time
- Try drawing rather than writing! What does your current and desired realities look like?
- Decide on 3 bold steps - what can you do today to move towards your desired reality?
