Episode description

If Exercise were a pharmaceutical pill, it would create a multi-trillion dollar conglomerate & every doctor in the world would be prescribing it. It would create better insulin sensitivity, reduce stress, improve brain health, reduce & even reversing chronic disease, enhance detoxification, slow the aging process & improve sexual function, ALL in one!!! It has even been demonstrated that one to two hours of exercise a week in adults can prevent depression. Here's a paper published in the American Journal of psychiatry in 2017 elaborated on an 11 year study on almost 34,000 people that proved this:

In this episode, we talk about some of the latest & greatest findings in the field of exercise science. I mention a study in this episode that absolutely blew away the world. It was a 2018 large-scale study of more than 100,000 patients by the Harvard School of Public Health. It found that those who chose to eat a healthy diet rich in vegetables, exercise at least 30 minutes a day, maintain a healthy body weight, limit their alcohol use, & chose not to smoke during adulthood, had an 82% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease, a 65% lower chance of dying from cancer, and a 74% lower risk of dying from all causes during follow-up. Here's the link to this study:

Exercise has also been shown to improve the heart's ejection fraction:

This was a quick 10 minute episode that was inspired by my attending physician on this month's hospital service, thank you Dr. Eukesh Ranjit.
