[00:00:00] Well, hey there. Welcome back. Today, we're going to be talking about simple gift ideas for the fitness enthusiast or the active person in your life. Obviously, we're in full swing in December, and it doesn't necessarily matter what style of holiday you celebrate, but if your holiday includes gift giving, sometimes it can be really complicated to think of ideas.
So as I was working on this episode and writing down some things that I love, My husband is sitting next to me and he's chiming in with all the things he loves and I'm like, all right, we're actually just going to do this together. You're going to share some of your ideas that you love from your perspective.
I'm going to share some of mine. So I'm hoping that you get some ideas for you to maybe Give to a partner or a spouse or a friend, and even some ideas for someone who is your partner or spouse or friend. Either way, we're going to have you covered today with a nice variety of fitness gifts for the active person in your [00:01:00] life.
I do also want to give a shout out to Bay Morrison. She wrote a podcast review titled easy to follow excellent, easy to follow content for living healthy and fit while being a busy mom, a must listen and Instagram follow. Thank you so much Bay Morrison. I really appreciate when you guys leave those podcast reviews.
It helps the podcast grow. It helps give me ideas. And I just truly love to hear from you. I love to know that I have a community and I'm not just in my closet by myself. That we are actually friends. So if you have found an episode helpful or this episode helpful, please write a review. Let me know your thoughts or let me know topics that you want to hear more about on the podcast.
And we're headed into that time of year where people are wanting to make health changes and I think we. Overcomplicate January and our New Year's resolutions. So I have a really, really simple one for you to, you can actually maintain, and that is to add AG1 into your routine. I [00:02:00] added it into my routine last January of 2023, and I have loved it ever since.
It's a really easy way to make sure that I'm getting a probiotic, a prebiotic, a digestive enzyme for my gut health, magnesium, vitamin B for energy, and so much more. It basically replaces your multivitamin and all of the other things in just one quick drink. You can easily drink it in the morning. I started drinking, as I mentioned in January, my husband started drinking in the summer and we love it.
And the best part is it's simple. You can actually do it. It doesn't have to overcomplicate your life. It's just a simple drink to help support your health. Check it out. It's an easy addition and you won't regret it. My name's Andrea Allen and I am a mother of four girls under seven, a wifey to a mountain man, a personal trainer, and a nutrition coach.
I love all things women's health and fitness. But let's face it, the fitness industry is complicated and it's not built for the everyday mom. There's so much conflicting information, and you're busy and you don't have time to figure it out. I hate [00:03:00] feeling confused and overwhelmed. So I made it my mission to simplify health and fitness while creating a welcoming, realistic, and empowering home for like minded women.
I'm happy you're here and I hope you stay a while.
All right, let's get into these holiday gift ideas. I have with me the man, the myth, the legend, the mountain man. Paul's going to chip in his, you know, 2 cents on the things that he thinks are amazing. We're like 5 cents, but okay. And I'm going to obviously give mine. Also, I'm not going to list, I did reach out to all these companies or things that Paul and I truly do love.
I'm going to list all of the links for the products and the discount codes in the show notes. Because if I try to spit out all the discount codes for you during the episode, you're going to be like, wait, was this discount code for this or this or this? So just know everything's going to be listed. The direct link will be listed [00:04:00] for every single product that we could get one for.
And if I couldn't get a discount code, we'll say it in the live, but otherwise I'll say the discount code is in the notes. So let's get going. My very first suggestion, if you were looking for a quick gift, that's focused on fitness is El Toro leg weights. So I've used leg weights forever. Paul can attest to this.
Remember when I was pregnant and I had those really thick ones that went around my ankle, they go in our trailer, they go in our truck, they are everywhere. They are everywhere. And when I am pregnant, I like her legs though, so that's okay. When I am pregnant and postpartum, and I don't really want to do a ton of work, but I want to get something in.
They're a great option. They're a great option for when you're traveling. They're a great option for if you even have like knee and hip pain, cause you can do a lot of straight leg stuff. Your mom uses them. My mom does use them like legitimately. She's doing rehab stuff. You're right. They're really good for rehab.
Um, When the old school weights were like thick and bulky. And I remember when I used to walk with them, they would like literally [00:05:00] leave like a rash on my ankles, but these El Toro leg weights are pretty awesome because Imagine kind of like a shin guard, but you don't have to put it over your foot. You just drop it on the back and it's a really thin plate that goes on your shin.
So they don't bounce around. They don't make you uncomfortable. They're easy to take on and off. You can change out. Don't play soccer in them. You don't want to play soccer in these. You don't want to play soccer, but you can change out the size of the weight in them. And they're just easy. I actually really, really like them.
I did get a discount code, so that is going to be in the show notes. So if you're looking for a little extra resistance or something to wear on walks, they're really good for HIIT workouts or stair stepper or hiking. I'm going to get Paul to wear them when he's hiking one day, but they're great for those types of things to just get a little more pump out of your workout.
And I really like them. So El Toro leg weights, a must have. All right, Paul, what do you think? What's up? Okay, first on the list for me is wrist wraps. So there's two [00:06:00] different kinds of wrist wraps. There's the kind that you're going to wrap around your wrist that will just be for your wrist. Um, this is for any kind of pushing motion, whether you're doing push ups, bench pressing, um, any kind of fly where you want to keep your Your, um, your wrist straight and firm so that it doesn't hurt.
Many times people get in the pushup position and if they lock, you know, if they bend their wrists, it hurts. So wrist straps in that aspect are really going to help with that pain. And they're really going to help with just bracing yourself more, especially if you're using any kind of heavy weight. Like I got into powerlifting for a little while.
And wrist straps were awesome for any kind of pushing that I was doing as far as overhead press or bench press. There's another type though. That's also for, um, pulling motions like pull ups, um, bent over rows, those kinds of things. And those wrap around a bar. Those help with grip. Um, if you want to get heavier weight, but your grip just isn't quite strong enough, you can wrap these, um, wraps around the barbell or the dumbbell or [00:07:00] even a kettlebell and that.
Just takes a little bit of the weight off when you're pulling. So you're able to pull more weight, keep good form. And then, um, And both of them are relatively cheap. I would say between 10 and 20 for even like a pretty good pair. And we will link some on Amazon that we like, um, piggybacking on what Paul said.
So as you can tell, there's two different ones. One kind of keeps your wrist straight and supported the first one. And the second one helps you pull more weight. So for example, if you are in a bent over row, you can use a wrist wrap in. A dumbbell movement or a barbell movement. So if let's say you're using a dumbbell.
You're in a bent over row. You want to pull that weight up, but your grip is not good enough. I know we talked about grip last week. We know we're working on it, but sometimes we need a little extra help while we're working on it. So if you use that wrist wrap, it wraps around your wrist and then around the dumbbell.
So then you are able to pull that weight better because if your grip is weak. And your [00:08:00] back is strong. Your back's not going to get the work because your grip's weak. But if you use the wrap, it takes some of the work out of your grip and you're able to push it into the back. For that row. So that is why that one can be effective.
I love both of those. Paul's really into the ones that go around your wrists. I'm into the grip ones, but both of them are not expensive. We'll add length. Any kind of like dead lifting or any kind of row. Yeah. That's the way to go. Even if you're like new, even if you're new to fitness and you're like, I don't even feel like I can lift more than 15 pounds.
Try the wrap that wraps around the dumbbell. See if you can get twenties. Like you just never know, because you might think. strongest guys I know that goes to the gym. He has wrist wraps everywhere he goes. Yeah. And you might think like, Oh, I'm weak. I can't lift more weight, but it might be your grip.
Maybe your back is like really strong and you don't even know because it's your grip. So that's a great one. All right. My next one I love is a massage gun. I have a Theragun. I know there's multiple different kinds. When the Theragun first came out, we had this like big [00:09:00] bulky one and we thought it was like fantastic.
But now I highly suggest the mini ones. And the way, the reason I suggest the mini ones is because They're compactable. You can put it in your gym bag when you go to the gym and you're like, Ooh, I need a warmup or activate a muscle. You can bring it when you're traveling. It just fits anywhere really Nicely and for me it really helps kind of just break up that tissue when a muscle sore it can break up that fascia It can just kind of help a tense muscle relax and it's easy to do on yourself or have someone else do for you, but I use it regularly.
Paul, do you use it too? Don't you? Yeah, I use it a little bit. Um, I'm, I also help Andrea sometimes, like if there's, you know, spots you can't get to and stuff like that. So it's, yeah, it's a great travel companion. They have, they can be kind of pricey if you get like the name brand ones, but they also have some cheaper ones too.
I was in Costco the other day. And they had it. I, I don't know what the brand was, but it looked like Costco carries everything. I mean, they sell hot dogs and they sell Thera [00:10:00] guns and they sell eyeglasses. Like it's like they got it all, but no, you're, you're right in that when they first came out, I felt like it was only in the name brand ones, but now there are so many knockoffs.
We will link a couple in the show notes because you do want to find one that's in your price range. And to be honest, like I'm, I'm not going to pretend that the name brands are better than the regular, cause I think they're kind of the same. Okay. Um, the next one we're going to talk about is the Garmin.
So I have, what's called a Garmin Phoenix seven pro. Um, it's, it's awesome for like, I was looking for a workout watch and mind you, like when I research things, I have the fun for me is researching and finding which one is the best. I looked up just, you know, a few different fitness watches and this is really the one that I landed on.
I'd like to add real fast that half the fun is researching. That's my worst nightmare. I, I just want a referral. I want someone to be like, buy this one. And I'm like, perfect. And I buy it. But Paul can tell you all of the small little details. [00:11:00] Yeah. So if I'm giving you a recommendation on something, I can promise you this has been thoroughly vetted.
If Andrea gives you a recommendation on something, she's bought five of them and returned four. And I found the best one. So if you, so if you do any kind of. Outdoor activity, or if you have a spouse or a significant other that does any kind of outdoor activity I really like the Garmin watch for this. It has a really strong battery life Um, like if if you charge this thing to it's a hundred percent to a hundred percent Um, you have 18 days of battery life That's charged at a hundred percent.
And that's actually using it. If you put it in like the battery saving mode and it's fully charged, it's 55 days. So if you are in the back country, or if you're on a hike, or if you're doing any kind of ultra marathon or anything like that, I don't do ultra marathons, but I know that a lot of the reviews that I read were for people that do ultra marathons, they needed something that was going to have a really long battery life.
And this blows any kind of competition out of the water with battery life. Um, they're probably kind of with the [00:12:00] new Apple watch and other things that have. You know, put in there are comparable as far as fitness trackers and things, but the battery life is killer. Okay, so, when Paul was Andrea, go ahead.
She raised her hand. Go ahead. No, I'm kidding. When Paul was buying this watch, he did do a lot of comparisons. And I will say, people kind of gave you beef for not getting an Apple watch. And you were like, no, the trackers are the same. Like, the fitness is better. And there's some pieces that are better. But my thought is, if you have someone who is a hunter, Or spins long runs, like you mentioned, or if you're a hiker, or if you're like me, where you forget to charge your stuff, this can be really, really great for those people.
Because my other favorite thing is, is that we sometimes, for those who don't know us, I'm actually from Washington, D. C. Paul is from like. the back country in Arizona. Like, in fact, when my kids are like, where are we going? They're like, are we going to visit the grandma in the woods? She lives in the middle of nowhere, the forest.
That's what she says [00:13:00] in the, I think she says the woods anyway. So when we go sometimes places with Paul. I do like that his will track his trail and the battery lasts forever. So when he's gone sometimes, um, hunting or just doing some of the stuff he does, I, it is a little bit of peace of mind for me that I know his watch is not going to die.
And if he is camping or he is doing anything. That he's going to have it with him and it also does track his location. Doesn't it track, like, even when you don't have service and stuff as well? You sound so creepy. You're just tracking me, tracking me, tracking me, tracking me. I'm a stalker. I'm trying to keep you alive, but it's really good for that.
Yeah, Garmin has been around, as you know, like if you ever had, you know, if you go 10 years ago, Garmin, that was how you found anything, like they used to have the ones that mounted in your car. They probably still have those, you know, this, you know, Garmin's have, they are, [00:14:00] they, they are the ones that own.
Tracking like they, um, they've been around the block. Yeah. So, and we had a guy even locally here where he was hiking, just regularly hiking. And, um, he, what happened? He'd like a rock fell on him, right? Anyway, a rock fell and he got pinned and they couldn't find him for days and days and he didn't have a location.
Luckily, um, an airplane saw him cause they were looking for him in helicopter, but Paul and I had a conversation after that. And I was like, man, if he had had that watch, they could have actually. Found him or he could have alerted, you know to where he was and it would have stayed on for days and days and days Like as Paul said the battery life So it's a good fit for those who are really outdoorsy or do long activities Or even if you love camping for days at a time, that's not for everyone obviously, but just like your outdoorsman.
It's a perfect fit Yeah, what is the cheaper one because you said there's two right? Let me touch on just a couple other things, just durability wise, I would say it's a little beefier than probably the Apple watch. I know they've released one that's a little more geared towards [00:15:00] that. So durability was a factor for me.
Obviously we talked about GPS locating and then looks wise. I just like the way it looks. It looks more like a watch. I like the round to me. Sometimes the Apple watch can look a little bit like a phone or an hour, a toy, you know, no offense to the Apple watch users. I actually think that they're great, but this is what just really kind of, um, Um, and then this one is also solar, so it, you can, it lasts even a little bit longer when it's outside because of the solar capabilities, there is a cheaper version.
So mine, don't get me wrong, the Phoenix seven, the Garmin Phoenix seven pro solar, it's pricey. So they do have a cheaper, like just kind of more budget friendly option, which is called the Garmin instinct, which, um, it's, it's still got a lot of the same features, but, uh, it, it's got a few that aren't quite there as well, but.
To be completely honest with you, my brother has one. And there's times when I almost feel like I could probably get by with that, with that one just as well. So the Garmin Instinct is another great option. If you're looking for just kind of a more budget friendly [00:16:00] option. Yeah. Awesome. All right. The next up is bands, resistance bands.
I love resistance bands and there's a couple reasons why. For number one, bands are versatile. You can use them for rehab. You can use them when you're traveling. You can change the resistance based on where you hold the band. So for example, I have a set of five that we sell and the reason I even, the reason I even came out with our own set of bands is because I love bands so much.
And I was kind of sick of some bands snapping on me and I wanted to be able to buy them in a set and I wanted to be able to have literally a whole set with accessories and be able to take them anywhere. And so I spent like. I don't know. How long did we do that? Over a year looking at bands? Like we probably had like hundreds of bands shipping to our house at one point.
We still have some samples upstairs in another closet. I think it's the same closet that I'm sitting in right now. I think I'm sitting on the bands actually. Exactly. So. Actually, one of the funniest things I have [00:17:00] seen is when Andrea was working, one of them did snap and literally her hand punched her in the face.
It did. That is a true, that is a true story. We laugh now, but I promise you, I was not laughing at the time. No. You would have not been sleeping in our house if he was laughing. Paul's soul was laughing, but his eyes said he was been sleeping in this closet that I'm currently in. Yeah, but it's true. I got sick of that.
So I love bands now, but let me explain why they're perfect for traveling. Depending on where you grab them, you can create more resistance without having to switch them up. They take up less space. You can literally put them in a nightstand drawer and they're out of the way. So if you're somewhere where you live in a smaller space, you don't have a lot of room for dumbbells for equipment.
You maybe go to the gym regularly, but then maybe you have a sick kid and you're like, I need something for at home, but I don't have any dumbbells. You get a set of solid. Thick, thick resistance bands that are long. You can attach them to any surface. So you can buy a hook where they hook into [00:18:00] a door and they turn into a cable machine.
You can loop them around. Or if we're at grandma's house in the forest, they'll hook to a tree. It's true. They hook to a tree. They can hook around a island post. They can hook around a stair post, a deck post. They can hook around a like outdoor, you know, the, I want to call them lamps, but what are they outside?
They're not lamps. They're street lamps. Yeah, they are lamps. They're street lamps. You can hook them around that. You can hook them around a picnic table, anything that's sturdy. You can literally hook them around and create a cable machine. And once you do that, bam, you've got back exercises. You've got any pole, any pole exercise, biceps, back, some leg movements, some hamstring movements, some glute movements, or you can just even say packable.
They're packable. Yeah. They're easy. They go down and you can put them around your feet. So. I am doing, obviously, I suggest my own bands because I love, love, love them with all my soul. Um, I am going to do a discount code. It's going to be in the show notes, [00:19:00] obviously. This, I typically don't give a discount code regularly for them, but we are going to do a discount code.
Simple. That's going to be in the show notes as well. And that's for, obviously, podcast listeners forever, but It's a great fit. Paul even used them for a little while for rehab. Like when you were trying to work on your range of motion. Yeah. If I'm, if I'm doing any kind of warmup, they're a good way to go.
Also, if you want to add a little more resistance to. Any kind of barbell or dumbbell movements that you're doing. You can hook these around the barbell. Like you'll see a lot of, if you YouTube anything that's deadlift or, or bench pressing and things like that, you can see a lot of guys that will attach these to them just to add a little bit more resistance time under tension.
You can go nice and slow and controlled. Um, if you don't have enough weights, like plates that go on a barbell or a dumbbell, um, as far as enough weights for, for the dumbbell, you can use weight or these, um, Bands and they can wrap around anything and add just a lot more resistance as well. They're easy to hook to kettlebells and you can even hook them to a dumbbell.
If you put the other side under your foot and the other side [00:20:00] on the dumbbell, then you can curl them. So bands are a great addition that you can do anywhere. Okay. The foam roller, Andrea was wanting a foam roller. Hey, can you get me a foam roller for, I'm like, okay, we'll get you a foam roller. We already have one.
I have a foam roller, but I just feel like I need to upgrade. But the researcher that she was just making fun of in me. Um, so I wanted to make sure I got her a good one. That would last a little bit longer than our previous one. So I looked up one and it was called the R4 body roller. Um, kind of a funny name, but that's, uh, the one that I found that was on actually the men's health website, they released like their 2023 men's health awards, um, like as far as fitness goes.
And this was on the list and. So now we've got a funny looking present wrapped under a tree. Oh, that's what the long circular. Yeah. I'll act surprised. I will act surprised on Christmas morning when I open it. Crap. Yep. Just gave that away, but that's okay. Yeah. The R4 [00:21:00] body roller. So, and again, like this is.
Especially as like, you get to be an old man like me, like the more you can really like easily recover so you can get back to the gym or do the things outside that you love, you know, the better off you are. And this is a great way to recover besides sleep. Um, you know, any kind of like foam roller like this is just a good way to like, kind of get in between the muscles and massage them this along with the Theragun, they go with us everywhere.
So they do great. And I like this one cause it is a little bit shorter. I have kind of an old school original one. That's like foam that my kids have like beat up and chewed, chewed on. Now it's like Brown. That's true. It is, but I like this one also when he showed it to me online and stuff, because it kind of has some ridges on it.
It has some divots, which is going to create a little bit more. dig into that muscle. And I was at physical therapy yesterday. Um, I'm not sure what I did. It's kind of a long story, but I was doing an RDL and I felt a little tweak in my lower back. So I went to PT. He's like, no, you're fine. You just need to rest it.[00:22:00]
But the number one thing he said to me is he was like, put your feet up on a chair and put a foam roller at the very bottom of your back and just release that back and just sit on that foam roller, like just above your sacrum. And it was like a funny, good reminder to me that it's like, Oh, This is such a simple tool to have in your house.
That makes such a difference. Like it was the number one thing he suggested I do at home. For the price you pay for them. I mean, I think this are for body rollers, a little more pricey, but you can get any foam roller for relatively cheap off Amazon or whatever. And again, super awesome. All right. My next suggestion is a J flex bar.
Okay. I'm going to explain this in kind of detail. Now we do have at the house barbells. So I actually just reached out to this company because I have a few girlfriends that have this and swear by it, so A lot of people are in situations where A, maybe you go to the gym and you don't have a barbell or B, you would like more weight, but you don't have space for a barbell and you [00:23:00] don't have space for heavier dumbbells and even maybe your grip for that heavier dumbbell is struggling.
We have the wrist wrap idea, but the J Flex bar is pretty amazing. It's actually called a hyper bar and it basically is a bar that has attachments at the two ends where you can put dumbbells in the two ends. So let's say that you have I don't know, 25 pound dumbbells. Well, you can put each end in this bar and now you can back squat.
Now you can front squat. Now you can overhead press in a different position. And there is some variation between dumbbells and barbells. I think having both of them can be useful, but I know a lot of people are in situations where they can't have a barbell or don't have access to one. And it does work the muscles in a little bit different way.
So it does give you that option. Like for a chest press, if you connect them. It's going to give your chest a different push than if they're separate for that chest press, just a variation. So I feel like this [00:24:00] hyper bell bar is pretty amazing. I've actually reached out because as I mentioned, I have a handful of girlfriends who have them.
They love them. They swear by them. I reached out for one because I'm like, I want one for when we're traveling or when I'm in the garage working on something, or if my kids are out back and I don't want to drag a barbell out there, or if I just want to change up and. I have dumbbells with me that I can just throw it on a dumbbell.
So I'll put a link for that as well with the discount code. All the discount codes will be in the show notes. So you guys will be good to go to get all of these things with either Amazon links or the discount codes. All right. Pop. Okay. Next up, we're going to talk about shoes. There were several things I was looking at when I was, uh, researching shoes.
Um, the first one was I wanted it to be zero drop. So I lift a lot of weights and when I'm lifting, I want it to be flat, firm. I want it to not have any cushiony sole like some of those running shoes do. Those have a place obviously, but for what I do, I wanted it to be zero drop and firm. Second looks. I wanted it to look good.
There's several [00:25:00] like barefoot shoes I've tried and I do like those shoes, but they kind of like make your feet look like you have duck feet and I look goofy enough as it is. So I didn't need anything to make me look that much more goofy. So I really like the way that these, that are the ones I'm going to talk about.
Look. So looks was another thing. Third was comfort. I wanted it to be comfort comfortable. So despite it being flat and kind of rigid for lifting, I wanted it to still be comfortable. Like if after the gym, I have to go grocery shopping or, um, You know, run some errands or whatever. It was still kind of functioning that way.
Um, and that's where flux footwear came in and it checked all of those boxes. They're comfortable, they're flat, they look good. Um, like in fact, I was wearing them and Andrea was commenting so much on them that I got her a pair. And she loves them too, just as much as I do. I do. I, I do really like them. So if you lift and you're looking for a shoe that you can lift in, but also like do the day in, they're perfect.
They're really cute. I've worn them in a, do the day. Do the day. [00:26:00] That's what our new family theme is for 2024. Okay. You got to do the day for 2024, but it allowed them to be cute. Like I even wear them with jeans. I wear them with my romper. Surprise, surprise. I wear them all the time with everything. Okay.
So why isn't the romper on this list? The romper is not a fitness item. So it's not included on the list. It's on the back end list. Okay. So for real, if you are looking for a flat, solid shoe that you can not only lift in, but double duty wear out in public, it's a really great shoe. We did get you a discount code.
I have the white ones with the gum sole. I think they're super cute. Paul has a couple of different ones. Yeah. Paul did get them for me and they did. I really like them. There's also a running shoe version, by the way, there's a, there is a version that is, it contours to your foot. Like they're big on the, you know, your, your toes not being squished, scrunched and squished.
So they do also have a running shoe that I've tried out. And I actually really liked [00:27:00] that shoe as well. So they have both also episode. 143 the best shoes for your fitness activity. I do highly suggest listening to that episode. I talk about flux footwear in there, but I do give some suggestions for shoes based on your fitness activity of if you're a lifter, if you're a cross trainer, if you're a runner, if you're a walker, if you're a power lifter, I give suggestions all in there.
The other shoe that I personally am going to mention right now, which I mentioned that episode as well, is I've really fallen in love with. on clouds lately. I really like their shoe. Um, there's a couple different ones in that episode I talk about, but that's a good shoe to look into because their cross trainers are pretty flat as well.
And they're really comfortable, but obviously I don't have a discount code for that one, but we do for flux and we're big flux fans in this house. It's a really good one. All right, Paul, let's talk about fitness clothes. We both love fitness. What is your go to brands for you? So the brand that I really, really like is called 10, 000 gear.
And, [00:28:00] um, it's kind of a random name I know, but I trust me, they have the best stuff. It's kind of like Lululemon meets Patagonia, if I could like describe it in that way. So I do a lot of outdoor trail running, hiking, things like that. So they, they have gear that's geared towards that stuff, but then they also have gear that is geared towards hit type workouts.
Powerlifting, you name it, they've got it. They've got the foundation short, the interval short, they've got pants, they've got sweatshirts, they've got recovery gear. They are my go to clothing line that I like to wear and it's super comfortable. Um, it is a little expensive. But it lasts, do they have sales a lot or no?
Yeah, actually they have like two a year and it's usually during black Friday. So like right now through Christmas, I think they have some sales going on. That's, but they'll always have, like, if you buy two pairs of shorts, you can get one free. They're, they're, they're awesome. And they have probably, I don't know how many athletes that are on Instagram that if you follow enough of their [00:29:00] athletes, they always have a discount code posted on their Instagram page that you can get a, like a 10 percent off discount code.
So lots of discount codes available. Paul's a little bit more bougie than me. Amazon shopper. I'm an Amazon shopper. So let's talk about my favorite things. No, I, I was not. I'm an Amazon shopper. I love the bang for my buck and a couple of things I like on Amazon. Now, obviously we don't have a discount code for 10, 000 here, but you could definitely get something.
And then she'll like, be like, why is this sewn crooked? I'm like, well, you bought that for 15 bucks on Amazon. And that's probably why. Okay. Well, I am going to share all the ones that are not that they are champions after all of the ideas that I've bought and all the things I bought. Okay. So these are my favorites that I promise you will not be sewn crooked as Paul says.
All right. So I'm going to then say my favorite items on Amazon that I do really truly love and they have [00:30:00] Done really well for me. So number one, we obviously don't have a discount code for 10, 000 gear, but I will link all of my Amazon links of products that I've loved because I do like to get all kinds of small things.
There is a set of shirts. It's a pack of three. They are a crop, but I'm very particular that I don't want it to crop. I like need my shirt. I don't want to feel like I'm wearing half of a shirt. And so they do come a little bit longer. I don't even want to say longer. I want to say like a medium length where I don't feel like it's too short, but I don't feel like it's too long.
It's perfect. And it's a pack of three. You can choose different colors. I'm going to link that in the show notes. I really have started to, like, CRZ their sets. So, as you know, sets of, like, matching bottoms and tops are coming in style. They've probably been in style for a while. I'm, like, a really casual dresser, so I don't have a ton of them, but I did just buy a couple sets.
for the first time myself, and I love them. They're like buttery soft. In fact, my girlfriend's like a major Lulu fan, and she's like, honestly, the material in these CRZ [00:31:00] Yoga sets is very similar, and they have matching tops and bottoms. So I will link those as well. And I'm going to link a couple of my favorite sports bras.
I am in the smaller chest committee. I don't have larger ones. So most of the tops I link are going to be a little bit more dainty. But I know my sister has some. larger boobed tops for women with bigger chest. And she sent me some of the links of the ones that she really likes. She's an avid CrossFitter.
The girl is so strong. She's a girl. You sometimes see on my Instagram, we've done videos together. She's amazing. Her name's Erin. And so she sent me some bra tops as well. So you will have some. Small chest committee tops and some big chest committee tops ideas for you to get on Amazon. And I, again, we'll link all of those.
I do have an Amazon shopping list that like shows everything. So you can just click on that in the show notes and it will go to all of the fitness products that I really, really like. All right, Paul, any other last gift ideas for fitness? Yeah. I think we should talk real [00:32:00] quick about, um, hats. Oh yes, we do love.
Yes. Let's do that. Yeah. We both love hats. In fact, I, Again, doing my research, I was like, I want a trail running hat that doesn't look goofy, that doesn't fall apart after like, you know. Three months of where, so I looked up this company called melon hats and I started wearing these hats. Um, they advertise it as like moisture, wicking, sweat, you know, wicking.
It looks good, durable. Next thing I know, Andrea has stolen both of the hats. That's a true story, true story, which is fine. So I, the reason I went and got these hats is it looked good. So they have a five panel version and it's flat brim. I really liked that. Um, Andrea tends to go more towards the curve brim one.
Um, they have some like winter style hats that are like for this time of year when it's like cold out, they have some thermal ones. Um, but mostly I got them for when I'm at the lake, um, and when I'm out trail running because they're really sweat resistant, moisture wicking, they look good and they're [00:33:00] super durable.
They'll last forever. We've had some of ours for a couple of years now. Yeah. Um, Paul and I have been married for Almost 14 years and I 30 years, 14, 14. Okay. 14. Anyway, we both love hats. We've always loved hats and without fail, Paul, apparently Paul has a sweaty head because I do feel like he goes through hats quickly because I can see the sweat on them.
And to me, I'm like, no, you cannot see a sweat on your, on your head. That looks bad. So. When we stumbled upon these hats, it's been really nice because they really don't show sweat for one. They hold their color really well. And the other thing is they float. So this sounds funny, but I had my hat on at the lake and I was in my sister's boat and my hat flew off.
No big deal. It floated. The boat circled around and we got it out of the water. So it is actually great for water sports. Spokes sports. It is actually really great for water sports. If you are someone who likes wakeboarding or paddleboarding or tubing, or even just [00:34:00] swimming, whatever it is, you don't have to swim to the bottom of the pool to get your hat.
If it falls off, it's really great that way. And it can get all wet and it still looks the same, which is so nice. Well, and they are washable. Like, so you can throw this in your sink with some dish detergent, scrub it, wash it, rinse it off. And it's almost like new. So. Um, if you've had it for six months or whatever, and it starts to get a little funky, you can put it in your, your sink, wash it with some, some, just some regular dish soap that they even have.
Like, I think it's on their website where it shows you how to do it. So it'll look good as new. Like they really are. They're a little more expensive. Like I want to say they're 50 or 60, but the one that I have, I've had for like four or five years and it looks just fine. In fact, it has, it's starting to like be a little.
It looks just fine. It's got a hole, but I, but I wear, I have it for like five years. Like that's pretty good. So yeah, try the melon hats. We'll add the link for that in the show notes as well. It's a really great option. They have him or her versions, lots of options there. It's really good. [00:35:00] I think they even have kid hats, don't they?
I think they, I don't know. We'd have to double check because you know, kids beat the crap out of everything. So I'm pretty, I'll have to check on that. I'll add in the show notes if they do. All right. I don't think we have any other ideas. I'm hoping that you got some really good ideas for simple things.
We did try to pick gift options that go from, you know, 10 to 20 on the cheaper end, obviously to a lot more. And we're hoping that you got ideas for yourself, for an aunt and uncle, a significant other, a friend, whatever it is, the person in your life who is into fitness. And of course, as I've mentioned, probably like five times already, we did try to get discount codes for as much as possible.
And we have added all of those in the show notes as well to make it easier for you, because let's be honest, everyone likes to save a dollar all year long, but especially in December, we like to save. So hopefully that helps you out a little bit. Paul, thanks for being here. Are you going to come back? I'm here to stay.
I think, I think, I don't think I'm going anywhere. I'm here to [00:36:00] stay. Okay. Well, maybe we'll, we'll, maybe we'll do another one together and we'll cover a different topic. Maybe we'll cover how we work, how we work together. Yeah, that'd be a good one. Yeah. Yeah, we will. That topic. That's a good topic for, I think anybody that works either from home or with their significant other and.
Or just shares responsibilities with their significant other because that's always a roller coaster. Yep. All right. That's it for today. As always, you are doing so much better than you think you are. We'll chat next week.
