Speaker 3

All right, Bulldog Sports page, brought to you by Actually, we'll throw this reminder in here. Make sure you're voting all this week for you say we play it. That'll go up for your votes on the JR Facebook page. At seven twenty it will be a featured band three songs. Should pick the song you want to hear. At nine Everybody's eligib bull toWin well a prize. It's a pretty good prize. This week Taco.

Speaker 2

Tickets for night number one of Metallica.

Speaker 3

We'll remind you again before we get there, the Bulldog is standing by there from the luxury condo. How you doing, Doggie, I'm doing good.

Speaker 4

Anticipating the big, big game one tonight between my Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers. Cannot wait for that, Are you guys pumped up?

Speaker 3

Rematch of last year's Stanley Cup Final.

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Speaker 4

Although last year, of course, we jumped out to a three to zero lead and then we almost blew the lead and had to rally and win Game seven to win the Stanley Cup. That's not gonna happen this year. Guys, that is not gonna happen this year. In fact, I'm gonna say we will sweep the Edmonton Oilers.

Speaker 2

Ooh, that's pretty strong. That's a strong statement.

Speaker 3

Sweep. I don't see that. It'd be nice, but I don't see it.

Speaker 4

In fact, we're gonna sweep the Oilers, which will extend Canada's streak of not winning a Stanley Cup to thirty three years. And then Canadians will be so distraught they'll voluntarily agree to be our fifty first state so they don't have to go through the humiliation.

Speaker 3

All right, Hey, were you surprised? But the move from the New York Knicks organization yesterday?

Speaker 2

The Nicks.

Speaker 4

The Knicks are the only franchise in the league that suffers winning. Okay, they fire They fired Tom Thibodeau, who took them to the Eastern Conference semifinals, lost in six games to the Indiana Pacers, and they fire him yesterday.

Speaker 2

Are you kidding me?

Speaker 4

This is the deepest playoff run they've had in twenty five years. Thibodeau has won fifty games back to back years. I don't get what the Knicks are doing. I really don't.

Speaker 3

Who are they gonna get that's gonna do a better job than he's done here in the last few years. I don't know.

Speaker 4

Again, the Knicks are the only team that can turn winning into the problem and fire the coach who made him relevant again. But it just I've said this many times over the years, and I've gotten greed for it. NBA coaches aren't aren't valued. They're a dime a dozen. I'm at Mike Malone fired by the Denver Nuggets after winning the championship a couple of years ago.

Speaker 2

I'm a good lord. What is going on in the NBA? I don't get it at all.

Speaker 3

Hey, while we're talking NBA, of course the finals will start tomorrow night. Is what happened to the flight to Oklahoma City? A harbager of things to come? Did you see that, bulldog?

Speaker 4

No?

Speaker 3

I didn't see the story. They had to be re routed and had to land early because of severe thunderstorm Tavy. They had to land in Tulsa, waited out, then they were on their way to Oklahoma State.

Speaker 4

I don't know the flight has anything to do with it, but Oklahoma City, as I've said many times over the course of the year. They are a budding dynasty. Not only are they the youngest team in the league, they're the most dominant team in the league. They're the best defensive team in the league. They're one of the best offensive teams in the league. They have the MVP Shay Gilgess Alexander. They've got like seventeen first round draft picks if they want to go out and even improve themselves more.

This is a team that is built for the long term.

Speaker 2

They're great. They're truly, like you said, dynasty material.

Speaker 3

All that said, though, it just seems like the Pacers aren't getting much respect at all. I mean, they've worked their way into the finals.

Speaker 4

Come on, man, I'll say they're getting no respect. I mean they beat the Knicks and then the next fire of their coach.

Speaker 3

Hey you see you see the Magic's redesign going forward unveiled yesterday?

Speaker 4

Yeah, I saw the new Everybody's all a twitter about the new logo and the new uniforms. I'm not really a logo uniform guy, Taco, what do you think you're the big Magic fan, what do you think about the new logo and the new uniform.

Speaker 1

Kind of like the old one. I mean, I know change is good, but well, it brings that.

Speaker 3

It brings the flying Start logo back to the forefront, which you know has always been a fan favorite.

Speaker 2

You guys realize I haven't seen it.

Speaker 3

Yeah, we do realize that the listeners.

Speaker 4

I'm looking at it. I love Alex Martin the CEOs quote. It's the identity that a fan connects with a team and the pride that they only show wearing a jersey, a T shirt or a hat. It's their pride and their connection to the team. Okay, uh yeah, Alex Martin's has done a lot for this city as far as the magic and he's on the board of trustees at UCA. But connect come on, connected. New logos connect the fans to the team. You know what a new logo does.

It connects the team to the fans. Wallllet yeahse fans are going to go out and buy new merch That's what it's.

Speaker 3

I'm surprised Outlaw was in here yesterday.

Speaker 1

And about pride in the team. I think for the players pride in the team as well. That's all the cash they make.

Speaker 4

Right right, by the way, do you see this has nothing to do with sports, but did you see the gator the new University of Florida who was supposed to be the new University of Florida president, Santa Onno, the Michigan president. He got rejected yesterday by the Board of Governors.

Speaker 2

That's never happened.

Speaker 3

I mentioned it back in the end the loop. He's got de I baggage and d I is a dirty word right now, brother.

Speaker 4

Yeah, d e I baggage. So the Board of Governors send him pack and again I don't I'm not gonna get into politics here. I didn't like the guy because he was the guy who signed off on the cheating scandal at Michigan.

Speaker 3

Right right, right back to the drawing board man.

Speaker 4

Yes, Santa Santa on the naughty list of the Board of Governors.

Speaker 2

Colon that stuck.

Speaker 3

Women's College World Series starts tonight, Doggy.

Speaker 4

Oh yeah, I can't wait rooting for Texas Tech against Texas. Obviously, Texas Tech a second tier program, but they're spending NI own money like the big boys.

Speaker 3

I love it.

Speaker 2

I love it.

Speaker 4

I would love to see Texas Tech take down Texas in the finals.

Speaker 2

All right, by the way, sad story. Yeah you see this.

Speaker 3

Jim Marshall.

Speaker 4

Minnesota Vikings great passed away yesterday, eighties. What was he eighty seven years old? I think so, Jim Marshall. He was a member of the Purple People leaders, one of the great nicknames and all this sport.

Speaker 2

You know what he was most famous.

Speaker 4

For the uh he returned the fumble a long way long way celebrated the return of the fumble for a touchdown, except he ran the right way.

Speaker 2

I knew you were going to say that. Yes, I do remember.

Speaker 3

That he did rebound the rebound from that by producing some pretty good amps amps.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that was a great defensive line. Carsta Page Jim Marshall.

Speaker 3

Yeah, all right, we successfully made it through the sports page without going to the Indiana rectal exam story.

Speaker 4

Yeah, Baco, Bob, what are your insiders tell you about that?

Speaker 2

I'm still checking out the logo right now for.

Speaker 3
