Episode description

I am happy to bring you the word of the week called Islam.

Welcome to the segment - Path to Totality. PTT,  Today’s topic is the word Islam, its root and what it means from what I have understood from the Quran and the dictionary of the Quran.

This is the root - S-L-M (seen, laam, meem) from which the word ISLAM  ۔  اسلام  ۔  is derived, its basic meanings are the following.

Peace, Purity, Submission and Obedience. In the religious sense, Islam means Submission to the Will of God and obedience to God’s  laws.

And I would like to thank Gabrielle Bernstein for her talk on Super Soul Sunday show of Oprah Winfrey on talking about the wisdom that she wrote in her book which very much aligns with the Islamic faith.
