My guest this week is Dr. Rachel Aghara’s professional experiences include over 20 years of work in educational, medical and clinical settings specializing in Spanish-English bilingual communication. She completed her graduate research at the University of Texas at Austin, and her postdoctoral work at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston. Then, she worked as an assistant professor at the University of Houston, conducting research on bilingual communication development. In Massachusetts, she currently provides direct clinical services to young children and their families who participate in EI programs. She also co-directs a business called Vidya, where she provides professional in-service trainings related to cultural and linguistic diversity. Lastly, she is a parent and a member of a multicultural family. She learned to speak English as a child, Spanish as an adult, and she's learning Gujarati now.
