47. Turning The Coaching Switch Off
Episode description
What do you do when you are NOT in a coaching session, and someone brings up a challenge they are going through?
You may naturally be showing up as a coach in all contexts without realizing it, even in contexts where you aren't coaching a client.
You might have people call you out and say, "Are you coaching me right now?!"
But, because someone is complaining about a problem does not mean they want to solve it.
And, because you are a coach does not mean you are obligated to be the listening ear for your friends and family's problems all the time.
It's appropriate to be coach-like, but not to be someone's coach (if they aren't your client).
If someone is not your client, their problems are not your responsibility.
So, how do you turn your coaching switch "off" and still show up with compassion?
In this episode, I share how to turn off your "coaching switch" so you can show up neutrally to your friends, family, and significant other.
