Ready is Not Real - with Ali Goff

“Ready is not Real” – I remember hearing this from my friend and accountability partner Cami McLaren and thought, that is so brilliant! You see we are really not ready for a lot of things. We want things, we want to change things, and often the question is asked…. ”are you ready?” Here's the thing…ready is not real. We are usually ready for a cup of coffee, a nap, a break, you get where I’m going. But when it comes to change we are not necessarily ready, but you know what change is real.  It happens, and we can either be in effect of it, or we can lean into it, and make some decisions to move through it.

One of those things my husband and I faced a couple of years ago was planning for our death, not the warm and fuzzy kind of planning and absolutely necessary. Estate planning was something that had been on my list of things to accomplish for years, sound familiar?

I’m not sure we were actually ready, but the reality or the realness of it was enough to compel us to take it on.  Enter Ali Goff! It was such a profound and powerful experience.
