Noni or na (the particle) Noni is used to indicate that in spite or regardless of whatever is happening there is a result. This result can be positive or negative. The な is used after な Adjectives and Noun (also sometimes in colloquial speak as well).

しか, written in hiragana is not Deer (鹿) and is similar to the だけ and ばかり, しか is a limiter. Like the previous grammar patterns is used right after the noun that it is showing the exception of, but しか can only be used in a negative sentence.

One thing to remember is to make sure that you are not confusing the English meaning of 'doing nothing but -verb-' which implied that you are free. While you can imply that meaning, it doesn't necessarily denote such a meaning in the Japanese. manga-sensei.com

Dake dewa naku is a combination of a few different grammar points stacked on top of each other. The first is Dake, which we talked about yesterday. The second is De the particle & Wa the topic marker. Last is the negative 'Nai' turned into an adverb. These three grammar points stacked together have quite a specific meaning but let's break it down in this podcast.

Nami (ni) is somewhat tricky and has two distinct meanings. An easy way to differentiate between the two by seeing if 並み is connected to a noun by a particle or not. If not: That it means to match, or be equal/equivalent to whatever it is connected to. If so: (meaning it is being connected with a particle etc.) Than is indicates something in general or normally.

Learn Japanese 99: Atari/当たり

One more episode from 100! Atari is a grammar point that is used following a counter to indicate rate. This is often translated to mean 'per' or 'each'. This is used very often to measure things and you will use it a lot if you have even a minor sushi addiction. Make sure that you use あたり/当たり only after a counter like: 日, 札, and 枚. manga-sensei.com

Oki ni and Goto ni are often confused, this episode is to clear up some of that confusion. Remember: Oki Ni when compared to Goto Ni indicate period is complete. So if it is: 三日おきに = Every forth day. 三日ごとに = Every three days.
