25 - TRANSPARENCY in Leadership Communication

Communication skill rests on the foundation of self belief and confidence. This podcast is on the critical aspects of communication and has useful content for my listeners, to overcome conversational and relationship challenges which the first big pandemic exposure in our living lives COVID19, has thrown at us.

Transparent leadership communication is the complete sharing of all the information that employees need so that they understand what the organization is doing, avoids surprise developments and fosters trust amongst employees. Transparent leadership communication fosters open communication that is shared upwards, downwards and also laterally. One example of Transparent Leadership communication is Brian Chesky the CEO of Airbnb. His communication to his workforce for the downsizing by 25% (about 1900 employees) is now regarded as a model for transparency in Leadership. His messaging touched upon Openness, Truth, sharing the decision making process and Gratitude. More importantly it emphasized the human side of communication.
