Road Trip Podcast and Stroganoff Foot

Speaker 2

Here we are at thekingzotherroadcom . You have stumbled upon the 13th best podcast about road trips that has been recorded by two friends . That's from the official list of road trip podcast magazine . They still published that magazine actually , which is surprising because things are moving away from prints , but they've stuck to it .

Speaker 1

Yeah , I only have two magazine subscriptions , that being one and the other , I still get a subscription to Ranger Rick .

Speaker 2

Oh , I thought you were going to say the auto trader . Because of your deep love for buying and selling all things , new and used , I have moved squarely to the internet . Oh , you don't go to 7-Eleven and buy your auto trader anymore .

Speaker 1

No , that used to be that in the recycler . Oh yeah , I was thinking about that because the recycler was more like a newspaper that just listed classifies , but I don't think there were pictures , so it would be like a couple of lines and then come and see it 19, . Whatever . But everything was local to you , right ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , that's true . How big the area of the recycler , I don't remember Was it just Torrance or was it just the South Bay , probably .

Speaker 1

South .

Speaker 2

Bay . Yeah , no , you're right . So everything you weren't going to be able to be driving across the world to get something .

Speaker 1

Yeah , now I'm looking on Facebook Marketplace I'm like that's a cool thing . Where is that Fresno ? Oh , shoot Arkansas . I did put within 200 miles .

Speaker 2

I did . I'd spanned my search at Radius , oh man . So yeah , that's a . Here we are climbing up the ranks of the Friends Doing Podcasts about Road Ships 20 years ago list .

I know what a specific list I didn't know there were so many other exact copies of this , it is Well , and they all heard our podcast and just started in the last couple of weeks and already have more .

Speaker 1

Already worked down a number of 13 .

Speaker 2

Yeah , oh man , come on listeners , tell your friends , click , smash the like button , click the Facebook thing , follow us , share , do all of those things so we can climb that list , number 12 .

Speaker 1

Number 12 . Yeah , get your kids to listen and we'll have Mr Beast on .

Speaker 2

A couple of times .

Speaker 1

A couple of times . My kids don't really watch Mr Beast , I don't think , but I'll see you .

Speaker 2

I don't even know what Mr Beast is . To be honest with you , he's just a guy with a YouTube channel or something and he's got like four billion followers but I remember Grace's like open boxing , like the toys , at one point on YouTube where he just watched them like take out frozen toys , you know , like this and has , yeah , 10 million views .

I'm like , oh my goodness .

Speaker 1

My kids were super into slime videos and it was just people like squishing slime and the sounds were so it was like all these suctiony noises . I'm like , what are you guys watching ?

Speaker 2

Oh , they're like oh , this person has blue glitter slime .

Speaker 1

I'm like , okay , damn , we should have done a slime podcast and stuff . Coming soon . King of the Slime podcast . Okay , first spin off , okay till you're 17 and 18 . Yeah , we think we can get to two days .

Speaker 2

I guess , now .

Speaker 1

We're committed to it .

Speaker 2

No , not necessarily , if we don't listen or if we don't get to the two , you'll have another episode coming up . But if we do get to both , and here we go , all right .

Speaker 1

All right , well gosh , today was a sad day . Early on I stepped in beef stroganoff . I should have just gone back to bed at that point . Really , this is that's what you wrote . That's what I wrote .

Speaker 2

Well , why didn't the world ? We have beef stroganoff around .

Speaker 1

Well , it's great . I think it's the one thing you knew how to cook . That could be , I know .

Speaker 2

Let's get beef stroganoff I haven't made that in a long time . Cream of mushroom soup . Well , we also have the the Adicottage kitchen , so we were actually inside .

Speaker 1

That's right , okay , that's right , yeah , so , but you are thinking to yourself right now why is it Wait a ?

Speaker 2

minute .

Speaker 1

Yesterday was the best day of their lives . Yes , why is today so sad ?

Speaker 2

High , high in the low , low have come .

Speaker 1

Now what is happening ?

Speaker 2

So , so stepping in Pause . Commercial break .

Speaker 1

Oh .

Speaker 2

And we're back .

Speaker 1

Oh , I was like are you , do we have a new sponsor ?

Speaker 2

No , I just wanted to have a dramatic because it was the best day and now it's the worst day and what has happened ?

Speaker 1

to me . This episode is brought to you by the Beef Stroganoff Organization Society .

Speaker 2

Do you love cream ?

Speaker 1

of mushroom soup .

Speaker 2

I don't know . I love cream of mushroom soup and cream of mushroom cream mixed together , because that's all it basically is . Oh man , List your top three dishes with cream of mushroom soup . Ready go Beef Stroganoff one , Dreaming casserole two . Number three I'm out .

Speaker 1

Yeah , I didn't know there was anything other than stroganoff . I doubled my my knowledge of . I do know that you said it with like the weird onion thing on top , yeah , on top .

Speaker 2

So good , so good at things different .

Speaker 1

Oh gosh , I love Thanksgiving .

Speaker 2

Give me out , oh man .

Speaker 1

Yeah , beef stroganoff is not a good thing to step in . No , no , it's mushy , gets all into your sock , grains .

Speaker 2

That sock is . I don't know if I was wearing socks , but if I was , oh no , the grains of my sock have been once again demolished by stroganoff every Thursday .

Speaker 1

Why does this happen to be so much ?

Speaker 2

I shouldn't . Why are we ? Why is there a stroganoff on the ground , or are you on the counter ? The other question , like do we just go to bed with stroganoff on the ground ? Oh no , I'll clean up in the morning or are you like ? I got to grab this thing off the counter ? Up on the counter ? Oh no , stroganoff foot . Unofficial diagnosis Stortenoff foot .

The urgent care in Northport has never seen such a disease before .

Speaker 1

Oh , we got a case of the stroganoff foot . Oh , again .

Speaker 2

Send them to the dry cleaner .

Speaker 1

Called the doctor . Oh my gosh , all right , it was cold and rainy outside so we could not ride Scooty . Oh , ah , that is a bad day , that'll do it . We spent all morning trying to find someone who would weld us a platform to carry the scooter on the back of our RV .

So yeah , remember , we had to put it inside the motor home to get it to the cottage and that wasn't , so we were trying to find a way to put it on the back of the motor home outside . Also , we didn't have a hitch .

Speaker 2

We didn't have a hitch . If we had had a hitch we would have been able to at least buy like a motorcycle thing . But we had two problems we didn't have the carrier and we didn't have a hitch . So we were really and we had like two days to figure this out .

Speaker 1

Yeah , and like North Port , is not your bustling metropolis with all kinds of options , not a lot of welders . It's pretty , I mean it's kind of a vacation town ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , and it's classified as a village . Oh yeah so not a lot of options in the village .

Speaker 1

What classifies ?

Speaker 2

something as a village . I think it's the size Like . You're probably classified as a village . I'm classified as a metropolitan area .

Speaker 1

As related to body mass index .

Speaker 2

Yes , that's exactly true . Well , 9th grade 9th grade , andrew is definitely you'd be like a chalet .

Speaker 1

Oh , I was almost a desert island .

Speaker 2

You said desert island A desert island .

Speaker 1

I would much rather go to a desert island than a desert island , just an island full of Sundays .

Speaker 2

I hope it's not too hot , though , but at the same time Not a bad island . Do we find someone ?

Speaker 1

Sorry , I was just thinking about desert islands . I went Sunday right away .

Speaker 2

We can move on . I didn't think about . I went Sunday right away but I could have gone pie , brownie cookie , cake . I don't know why I went right to the Sunday . That's when I thought , when you said desert island , I saw a Sunday and actually I didn't think of an island . You were in the Sunday , I was in the Sunday .

The island is up Sunday in the sea .

Speaker 1

Oh , like the dish , the dish Right , sort of the like the old school glass cup with the wavy edges . That's where I was .

Speaker 2

That's why I went Sunday and you were in it , so that's why I didn't go brownie or anything else .

Speaker 1

Just saying that you know ice cream is not my favorite dessert . You want us to be in there , but I have a serious question . Okay , this is . This could spark some controversy .

Speaker 2

Ooh , that would be a title of a episode , Pie or cake . That's not really controversy , because pie is so much better than cake .

Speaker 1

Oh I oh , oh , are you gonna take ? I mean , I'm 100% with you .

Speaker 2

Okay , okay , I thought you were gonna take the cake zone .

Speaker 1

I was thinking I'm usually the minority , when I say Really .

Speaker 2

Emily . Emily's a cake person , so I do know some cake people . What's Mary ?

Speaker 1

I feel in my extensive mark or my my extensive scientific study on the topic . Most people are cake , cake and ice cream . I am squarely in the pie camp .

Speaker 2

I could I could not have cake ever again and be okay .

Speaker 1

Oh , I'm not going to commit to that . I mean , I don't dislike cake , I just really like pie is all , and I like fruit pies . Are you with me there , or are you like ?

Speaker 2

I love fruit pies .

Speaker 1

Really yeah . Favorite fruit pie or favorite pie in general .

Speaker 2

Favorite pie in general oh my gosh . Favorite pie in general . I want them all is a problem , so I'm going pumpkin , apple , pecan all delicious Are those ? This great German chocolate pie that Marie calendars used to have ? Oh , I do remember that .

Speaker 1

That was really good .

Speaker 2

Yeah . So I mean , yeah , I guess rhubarb is mine Rhubarb pie . That's not true . Yeah , 100% . Your favorite pie is a rhubarb pie . Yes , I'll bet you . Have you ever had a rhubarb pie ? I have had a rhubarb pie , but is it not the best ? Is it only strawberry rhubarb or just only rhubarb ?

Speaker 1

That's a good question .

Speaker 2

I don't know if all rhubarb is strawberry rhubarb I think it all is .

Speaker 1

I don't think there's a rhubarb yeah , I'm not entirely sure , like there's not strawberries in it , but I think the sauce might be like a strawberries , or whatever you call that .

Speaker 2

That is a fascinating show oh man so good .

Speaker 1

Well , because it's got kind of the sour tangy . I also attribute that to , I think , my Scottish heritage . I don't know if that's a Scottish thing or just my grandma , but it was around a lot and I just love it .

Speaker 2

Okay , here we are yeah .

Speaker 1

But so you , you're not going to pick one , huh , you're not going to commit .

Speaker 2

I really don't think I could , because I will eat any of them if they're , so , if they're laid out on the table .

Speaker 1

There's a favorite ? Yeah , and if I'm going , to hit one .

Speaker 2

I'm probably doing , I guess , like pumpkin . What if it's July ? Still trying to go pumpkin ? Okay if it's there , apple , good choice . I mean , apple is so solid . Sometimes there's such a bit pieces of Apple , though I think I like a more cubed than like the long strips is .

And sometimes Cherry pie Speaking of where we are in northern Michigan yeah , cherry pies , phenomenal . My grandma used to make cherry pies . You would put this . The trick was you would put one Pit , would leave one pit in the cherry , so that one of them has a pit , one piece , and then that person , I think , has to kiss the cook .

Speaker 1

Or go straight to the dentist for a broken exactly .

Speaker 2

Yeah , very gently eating your cherry pie .

Speaker 1

That sounds terrifying , until someone finds the pit one time I was At work and there was somebody from New Orleans and they brought king cake for Mm-hmm , mardi Gras . With the thing about king cake is there's a little plastic baby inside . It's like whoever can eat the baby . And I'm like what if I ? How big is the baby ? What if I swallow ?

Speaker 2

I'm stressed , oh and I got a baby . I want to drink the king cake for the next year's Mardi Gras party .

Speaker 1

Oh yeah , that was also that's the tradition bring . I'm like I want to bring king cake for everybody , so I didn't even have a piece .

Speaker 2

Here's too much stress .

Speaker 1

I Said I'll pass .

Speaker 2

Emma and I were on a road street and someone brought a lot of king cake from New Orleans , like legit good king cake , with the babies in them and we knew that Emily was pregnant with hope and no one else knew that . And Emily got both the pieces with the baby . Like in both king cakes she got the baby piece . We're like this feels really funny .

You know what I mean , even though it's not the same thing . But you're like what in the world are the chances of hurting both king cake pieces with the baby ? Yeah , and she's got a baby . Those three babies , voodoo . Oh , hope is , hope is Unique . So maybe that does explain a lot of it , does it would make more sense for Isaac .

Speaker 1

But if you're listening to this hope , we have now figured you out in ten years .

Speaker 2

You're like oh , all the things are coming together .

Speaker 1

Yeah , all right , boy , we got off track , but when pie is involved , okay , hmm . So couldn't find anybody to Welled something onto the back of the RV to carry the scooter . So the rest of the day we tried to find a muffler for scooty , yeah , but came up empty-handed as well . So loud , we had two motors , zero mufflers , so Loud , yeah .

To get one from Yamaha was out of the question , since it would cost exactly 256 dollars and 29 cents .

Speaker 2

And the studio cost 40 bucks with two motors .

Speaker 1

Yes , and this is why this day was so sad .

Realization About Leaving Scooty Behind

We came to the realization that scooty Would be better off staying behind at the cottage . I mourned deeply . Yeah , we decided to do some whittling to take our minds off this dismal decision . It was the best decision , though . Sometimes , when you love something so much , did you write that ?

Speaker 2

no .

Speaker 1

You have to set it for you . Gosh , what a , what a horrific change of events to where our whole road trip was just dreams of Scooting and we now realized we had to leave that behind .

Speaker 2

I know , oh it , yeah , it really Practically like we hadn't thought through having a studer . No and yeah . So even if we had gotten something welded to the bat and being able to take Stooty with us , Then we have to find a muffler because that thing would not make you in the city .

Speaker 1

No , and I didn't write about this , but I think we also went to the DMV to try to register it .

Speaker 2

There's no DMV there . We drove to Traverse City , you think , for DMV .

Speaker 1

Remember we did . Maybe we went to like a post office , I don't know . There was something that we had to do to the local town mayor .

Speaker 2

Hello , yeah , the village mayor . Can you please register ? I was doing at my house new sign this Also also .

Speaker 1

You do need a driver's license to drive a scooter , which we didn't have . A motor cycle , I think so so a lot of . We were not prepared we didn't really have figured out . Yes , fortunately . Oh gosh , what a what a tough morning . Well , about 6 pm Scott's mom and friend Carolyn arrived at the cottage .

We all went out to dinner at a place called happy hour . I had a fried chicken dinner and it hit the spot . It was good . All in all , it was a mellow day . It's nice to almost be forced to do nothing all day . I'm such a busy person that it's tough for me to do nothing .

It was cool to be reminded that life goes on Even if I don't really accomplish anything .

Speaker 2

Well that could be . That could be your life motto to I've had a good life even though I didn't accomplish .

Speaker 1

I .

Speaker 2

I , if I had asked you before we started this podcast did my mom meet us on the trip ? Would you have remembered that ?

Speaker 1

Oh , yeah , I remember that .

Speaker 2

Yeah , really . I mean , I know we're gonna run into my dad Pretty soon , but that one was gone . Oh , really yeah .

Speaker 1

Yeah , I remember . I Remember your mom and Carolyn meeting us at the cottage . Tell your dad that's right , uh-huh , okay . And I remember the restaurant . It was kind of a dark , yep .

Speaker 2

I'd a tavern still there . Yeah , actually yes , but it also like wasn't open this summer when we went , because I think it's been ownership changes . So there's talk of like will someone else buy it ? The original family has sold it and they're done , so you know , but it's a great location .

Yeah , it's a tavern , it's dark , it's um , my dad has a story that I was thinking of , when , when we go there , they do burgers and french fries mostly and , like , I guess , fried chicken dinners and some fried fish .

But my dad is a story when he was 20 something , they went to the cottage with couple friends and so there was them and another couple and they both got four burgers , a pitcher of beer and french fries and when the bill came , my dad thought we'll just split it 50-50 because we literally got .

And his friend looked at him and seriously said , well , you guys had more french fries than us . Oh no , my dad's like , okay , never going out to dinner with you guys again Does this is how we're gonna play that game .

Speaker 1

Oh geez , I like I know there's certain situations where , like , we'll go out to dinner . Well , I guess this hasn't happened in a long time , because we have kids , so we don't go out to dinner yet . Yeah , now it's like of course we're splitting the bill because who knows what the hell we just ordered who knows what , who ate what who ?

Speaker 2

just food was consumed . People are happy , yeah .

Speaker 1

I don't know , we have boxes of leftovers , but I do remember that beforehand it was like oh , okay , well , I had a water and you had seven cocktails . I'm not splitting the bill with you . And those are always the people who are like let's just split it down the middle . I'm like no , like yours was $150 and mine was 20 .

Right , but yeah , a couple of french fries . That's funny . Yeah , it was bad .

Speaker 2

And he's like okay , so I'll just , I'll just pick this one up , that'll be fine , and we're just not going to do this again . Yeah , ooh , that's yeah , so it's a good little rest . That is interesting . Now that we're talking about it , I think something about because Carolyn's son , brian , started at U of M and so I think maybe they went out to visit him .

He got his PhD in math from U of M .

Speaker 1

Oh , okay so .

Speaker 2

I think that that's probably why they were out there Just Carolyn D'Alois , which is an unusual pickup , yeah , to be in Michigan .

Speaker 1

Right , well , that would make sense then . So it was nice . It was nice to have a good meal like that .

Speaker 2

Yeah , nice to be with him . You think we split it ?

Speaker 1

I would imagine your mother covered it yeah that's a generous person .

Speaker 2

She is .

Speaker 1

I love that . Yeah , do you want to ? Let's , let's . Let's turn the corner . Okay , let's go into day 18 . Shall , we just bring this thing trucking along , okay , all right , so day 18 . Today we left the cottage , but before we did we took Scootie out for a last hurrah . It was cold , but man , scooters are fun .

Speaker 2

I wonder if mom and Carolyn took Scootie out for hurrah . I doubt it . I doubt it , but how awesome would that be if they're scooting up and down the block ? Oh , they've left Finally . It's our turn to scoot . Yeah , yeah .

Speaker 1

We will do a detour on the Scootie I think we mentioned this last time and scooters in general . But it definitely unlocked a new thing in my life and you'll see some pictures that it unlocked my inner .

Speaker 2

I don't know what you want to say , but you probably can't say it , does it start with bad and end in ass . No , I was going to say biker , but like because yeah , right , oh , I see , I see , okay , it doesn't end with ass , but it ends with just bad ass .

Speaker 1

That's it . That's it , I mean . I'll speak for themselves .

Speaker 2

Oh yes , so okay , we're leaving .

Speaker 1

Yeah , we leave .

Food and Road Trips

We finally hopped on the road around noon and left Northport . The drive to Detroit was nice because of all of the colors . It was cold and it rained a bit , but the lazy days is a trooper Yep . For dinner we had some famous white castle burgers or sliders . They were gross .

Speaker 2

Yeah , they're not great , but they're great to eat .

Speaker 1

That's what people say . I've never had white castle burgers before this , and anybody that I had met who was from the Midwest or whatever it's like white castle .

Speaker 2

That's amazing White castle Right .

Speaker 1

Yeah .

Speaker 2

Is that the only time you've had them ? You think then Like you didn't go back ever . I don't , unless we went again on the road trip . But now you would never choose white castle and you buy like for like 10 bucks , you know like a dozen or something .

There's some like crazy , and the boxes all fit together like a stacking thing and they're like a bite size , a big bite , yeah .

Speaker 1

Yeah , yeah , maybe two bites . The crazy thing I think these sell them at like Costco or Sam's Club now frozen . I'm like oh my gosh , they were so bad quote , unquote , fresh , and now you want me to buy them frozen . Maybe they're the same . They could just do the same thing .

Speaker 2

They're just like here they all are . Throw them in the microwave , throw them out at people . Yeah , here's the problem . This is anybody like them ? Yes , I like them .

Speaker 1

Oh , you like them Okay .

Speaker 2

Yeah , yes , I wouldn't say they were gross , no , they're good Also , is this true ? Okay , good , it might be a fire thing , I'm . This episode is really turned into a lot of food conversation , but I think this is becoming a food podcast .

Speaker 1

Here's and a shooter podcast . We all have to eat .

Speaker 2

Maybe we'll be a higher on that list than we will be on the road , oh yeah .

Speaker 1

Maybe our foodie podcasts will go road podcasts about two guys who went on a road trip who end up talking a lot about food . We'll have to check , maybe we'll be at least top five ?

Speaker 2

I would think so . I hope so . Easy . Okay , here's the . Here's the question . Okay , do you think when you have smaller food , you might end up eating more because your brain doesn't know how to process what you're doing ? Do you want to attract and ? Or should I give you an example ? My example is like a white castle hamburger , for example .

You buy it , I think . They do sell them by the dozen , and so you know you and I probably got a dozen of them . We're over the furthest . And so then you're thinking I'll put six of these away .

Now , six white castle hamburgers is probably like a burger and a half , maybe a burger and three quarters , but you never order a burger and a half , but you'll keep popping little sliders in .

Or this is like crack cocaine those little chicken biscuit at Chick-fil-A they'll let the honey ones with the little tiny nugget in the middle and the sweet biscuit on the outside for breakfast . Have you had that ?

Speaker 1

I think I have , and yes , crack cocaine in that . It will ruin your life . It will ruin my dances .

Speaker 2

Everything you'll do whatever you can to get more of those . I'm sitting , I'm out of tailgate in the south and there's someone brought a party tray of those and I end up . I end up sitting next to the party tray . Oh no , just like . And so they're one bite , right ? Oh , those are so good and they're so good .

So I'm just popping these things , not thinking you're eating a lot of fried chicken and biscuit , because they're just a little bite . Yep , yep , right , yeah and down . No one else has really come over to my area , oh no , oh , that's right , that's been finished . I'm 15 . Uh-oh .

Speaker 1

I had a lie . I just ate $200 worth of chicken with my biscuits .

Speaker 2

I just ate $200 worth of chicken full . I didn't even realize it . That's what was jumping I . Oh , dude , that's what my theory is . Small food messes with your brain , yeah . Same thing like when you square cut pizza . No one has any idea how many squares you eat a pizza . You know how many slices .

Speaker 1

What are you supposed to do , right ?

Speaker 2

You're a two slice person , a three slice person , but if you square cut it , are you a 11 square , five square , two square . Yeah , you don't know .

Speaker 1

No one knows how much pizza did you have today ? I'm not sure .

Speaker 2

I'm unaware of the number which is , I think , the brilliance of square cuts .

Speaker 1

Yeah .

Speaker 2

That little corner piece .

Speaker 1

All I know is I had about 30 square inches , but like how many slices is that ? I don't know .

Speaker 2

What I did . Bring my measuring tape , measure everything , make sure , but that little corner piece that has the curve , but it only ends up being like a little bit of cheese , oh yeah .

Speaker 1

A lot across .

Speaker 2

Does that even count ? No , you just put that away , just to be helpful . Yeah , you're like I just took that off the plate .

Speaker 1

I'm gonna hit for the team right now .

Speaker 2

Boom , that's gone . Yeah , see .

Speaker 1

Small food . Yeah , I think you're right . I think you are right .

Speaker 2

So here's , another . Yeah , that's the brilliance of tiny apples . Yeah , how many you see . They think , oh , I can sell a lot more of these , because you don't know how many apples you just ate . Is that one apple ? Is that 11 apples ? I don't know . That's right , they don't hold case .

Speaker 1

What was their slogan ? I think it's three to four apples keeps it up . Three to four apples a day keeps it top to five .

Speaker 2

Yeah , okay what would you ? Say yeah , what was my tiny apple slot ?

Speaker 1

Orderves . Oh , you know how many times have you gone somewhere ?

Speaker 2

and there's orderves . I love , I love love orderves .

Speaker 1

Oh , that's delicious , yeah , oh . And then dinner comes and you're like , why are we having dinner and stuff Just ? But I just had a couple of orderves , just did that on Saturday . If you were to then , like , weigh that on one of those food scales , you're like , oh Wow .

Speaker 2

Oh , oh , I had seven mini quesadillas and three , three trap cakes and four black bean empanadas . The reason I'm so specific is that I was on a wedding on Saturday and these were the appetizers that were offered to me and I told my group . I said okay , I can't have another one cause I'm going to ruin dinner . Well , guess what ?

And you did , lady walked by with a trap cake . I'm like okay , and I'm looking at my filet , mignon , of course . Yeah , yeah Of course you're going to eat that Like a silver dollar size trap cake , maybe a little smaller than that . Even man , that's a great bite with a little dipping sauce .

Speaker 1

The Spanish got it right with tapas , tapas .

Speaker 2

That's the whole deal , right ? I think so .

Speaker 1

I don't have a lot of experience with that , but it's a tapas place . I don't know , maybe once or twice . Like somebody else is like let's go to the tapas place . I'm from Barcelona , like all right , you order and then I'm like this was a great experience .

Speaker 2

You order . How much is it cost at the end ?

Speaker 1

$400 of tapas . Yeah , I just tell them well , you ate more tapas , you ate more tapas . Yeah , why don't we split this like four thirteenths ? That's about my part , I figured .

Speaker 2

Don't you keep the plates , though with the tapas , so you can count , oh oh oh , one , two , three , four , so I have seven plates , you have 13 plates , so I'm going to do seven , you do thirteenths of the bill . Boom done . I don't know . I still don't think I've been to tapas . I maybe I think I have , but I don't know . Let's meet in the middle .

Let's find a tapas place in Garden Grove .

Speaker 1

All right .

Speaker 2

Tapas it up .

Speaker 1

Vietnamese tapas , those would be great . Garden Grove , those would be great , probably Westminster .

Speaker 2

A lot of spring rolls , that's where .

Speaker 1

I'll pick it up . All right , so back to sliders , unfortunately . So we ate these tiny burgers at Scott's Aunt Judy's house in Dearborn Michigan .

Speaker 2

So , and in comes Aunt Judy , a character who will reappear , a couple of times , A couple of times .

Speaker 1

Closing sentence I slept in the Spider-Man room .

Speaker 2

That's her grandson .

Speaker 1

Yes , yeah .

Speaker 2

Yeah , it wasn't a weird thing , guys .

Speaker 1

It's just that . That's what it was . She has a grandson and she's a great grandma . Not a great grandmother , no , she is a great as in wonderful grandmother and therefore she had a room full of Spider-Man stuff With Spider-Man stuff , and that's where I slept . Oh man , michigan is great it is great .

Speaker 2

Yeah , we're about to have some time with Aunt Judy and then we're going to see Aunt Judy again in the future .

Speaker 1

Yeah .

Speaker 2

So I really feel like we're moving up the list of two friends road trip 20 years ago . Food podcast Today's episode really moved us into at least the top five . Bye .

Speaker 1

I will be so mad if we're not . Oh , we should really . It's a crowded field , but we're very good at this . Obviously we are .

Speaker 2

We should really maybe pay off the editor a little bit .

Speaker 1

We could invite them to our tapas date Come . Would you like to come with us to go eat some tapas ?

Speaker 2

And he would say Of course , jace , I'm just not very good with accents , so I'm not . That's right . I have one accent that ends up being like a mixture of a Hispanic , scottish guy who was born in England and moved Australia early in his career , and you're like , my dad was in the military .

Speaker 1

I don't know , I moved around a lot . My dad was in the military accent , that's the accent .

Speaker 2

My dad was born into a Scottish British family , but then we lived in . England . We lived in a Scottish British family , but then we lived in India for five years and then followed that up with Australia . So riddle me my accent , Batman .

Speaker 1

Oh gosh , oh gosh .

Speaker 2

So for the rest of the show you will be relied upon for all the accents .

Speaker 1

Okay , deal .

Speaker 2

It's one of my strengths . Yeah , I'm going to come at you with the looks . You come at me with the accents .

Speaker 1

Well , a podcast is such the perfect medium when you're as attracted when it's all about the looks . So thanks for bringing the value .

Speaker 2

Bringing it away . Yeah , I've brought some very important to the table on the podcast medium , so yeah , I listen to this podcast because I just find Scott so attractive .

Speaker 1

So attractive .

Speaker 2

I just can't help but thinking about him as I listen to his voice and thinking about the way he's his facial expression at that moment . Well guys , good day , good day , good two days .

Speaker 1

Good two days . It's a sad day .

Speaker 2

Yeah , started off a bit sad , but I guess overall like actually kind of a tough little stretch by the studio , you don't like White Castle ?

Speaker 1

Stepped in stroganoff that was getting . We don't know how .

Speaker 2

We're not sure how . Yeah man and my mom was coming and wouldn't even clean up for her . We just left stroganoff all around the house . Well , it was clean after I stepped in it . She probably would be like typical . This is typical she's like Scott .

Speaker 1

Scott , your fault wasn't it .

Speaker 2

Well , and that's the problem , we both know that somehow the stroganoff , we know that was my fault 100% .

Speaker 1

It was on the floor because of you . 100% .

Speaker 2

No , I can't even , I can't even deny . This is one of those moments , too , where you're like all right , drop Stogranoff on the floor .

Speaker 1

Oh well , I'll get it tomorrow . And then Andrew comes along . What in the world ?

Speaker 2

My sock , my reins of my sock , have been sullied by the stroganoff . Oh , and everyone listening , who knows us , is like even before that yeah , I've started that . There's no question , there's no question how this ? Happened and no one , no one is confused . Everyone and I probably was like oh yeah , or I just didn't notice it . Blah , blah , blah , blah , blah .

Stroganoff . What happened to stroganoff and the pollution ?

Speaker 1

I meant to put it in the dishwasher , but instead I just dropped it and walked away .

Speaker 2

Oh , 22 year old Scott . Luckily , I've gotten so much better since then . Uh-huh . Yes , emily , emily , come on , is that true ?

Speaker 1

Yep , jeff and I should agree Well it feels like I'm going to wrap up . I think so . Okay , talk to you next time . Talk to you next time . Bye , be safe , bye , bye , bye .
