The war between Xerxes and Greece, also known as the Greco-Persian Wars, lasted from 499 BC to 449 BC. It was a series of conflicts between the Persian Empire, led by Xerxes, and various Greek city-states. The main cause of the war was the expansionist policies of the Persian Empire and their desire to conquer the Greek city-states.
